The one post that is most-awaited, and to be watch out this year is nothing but Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board Chairman which manage the affairs of the biggest temple administration in the country. Revered as India’s top pilgrimage, Lord Balaji is well-known and has humongous following all over the globe and yet the top post has been lying vacant for a while. When we dig out the reasons that causing delay, we find out many interesting, “inside” information.
One of the most important reason is that there is heavy pressure from Union Ministers lobbying for their own candidates for the top job. Sources in the know inform us that ministers themselves directly contacting CM Chandrababu for the post. In fact, many of them asking favour from Naidu considering that Naidu too needs their help in building the new state of AP. And what’s more alarming is that the Union Ministers belonging to BJP want people of their own states in the post.
On other hand, Naidu has his own commitments within his party. He has already committed to former MLA from Tirupati Chadalawada Krishnamurthy on naming him as the TTD chairman, once the Telugu Desam comes to power, for opting out of the MLA race in the run up to the 2014 General elections. On other hand Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao has told Naidu his wish to be TTD Chairman at the time of joining TDP.
Meanwhile other senior leaders like Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu, Murali Mohan, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and the list of aspirants is huge. With this Naidu said to be unable to come to conclusion and put this post aside and working on the governance and especially set his focus on building the new capital for AP, procuring lands from farmers through Land Pooling System (LPS), loan waiver, rebuilding Vizag and luring investments.
