Ilayadalapathi Vijay, Samantha’s entertainer Kaththi directed by Murugadoss which at first attracted the attention of movie lovers as the film came after Vijay’s sensational hit Tupaki with Murugaoss, note is in full controversy with question marks over its release. 

Pro Tamil groups have been opposing the film’s release over one of the producers of Lyca Productions close links with Srilankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa, whom these groups accuse of indulging in genocide of Tamils in Srilanka. Filmmakers after discussions with the protesting groups promised to release the film removing the names of Lyca producers. 

As such advance bookings for the film opened in theatres across Tamil Nadu. However a mob attacked theatres which opened advanced bookings for Kaththi scheduled for 24 ,October release and hurled petrol bombs on Sathyam and Woodland theaters in Chennai last night. 

Tamizhar Vazhvurimai Katchi, the Tamil outfit protesting against ‘Kaththi went on to defend the attacks saying they didn’t receive communication from the filmmakers.

Definitely me, hints Mega Powerstar Ram Charan, as the youngster ups his sleeve to appease the stake holders involved in distribution of his latest flick ‘Govindudu Andarivadele’.

While few distributors of ‘Govindudu Andarivadele’ have reached the no-profit no-loss zone, somehow couple of distributors ended up with 20% losses as the film succumbs to Hudhud in Northern Andhra region and other ‘comedy’ flicks in various other regions. It is heard that Ram Charan doesn’t want to lose the confidence of his distributors as finalizing Krishna Vamsi’s family-drama is purely his own act. Insiders shared that Charan has returned 3 crores to producer Bandla Ganesh, realizing that his mistake should not cost distributors, and asked him to return the money to distributors.

It’s a point noteworthy as the big brigade of Tollywood’s ace heroes are returning remunerations for sake of distributors and producers. On that note, we have to say that Mahesh Babu hasn’t took his balance remuneration from Aagadu makers, while Jr NTR agreed to chop a chunk of his pay packet for Ganesh’s movie being directed by Puri Jagan.

Fascinated by the film’s stunning success, none other than Kamal Haasan has come forward to star in the Tamil remake of the movie, titled Papanasam, the film is on floors now. What about remake-craving Bollywood then?

Already leading producer and distribution network company Viacom has acquired the rights of Malayalam’s Drishyam, if have to believe. Though the names of Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan are initially heard as possible heroes who could star in the remake, now we are hearing Saif Ali Khan’s name. Also this princely hero wants his wife Kareena Kapoor to be roped in for this nail-biting drama, as he wants to thrill audiences saving his on-screen wife from the murder episode. Well, it’s too early to talk about the hero and heroine of Drishyam Hindi remake as nothing is official yet. Wait and see.

Prince Mahesh Babu has given another chance to the production house which has suffered a huge loss with his movies 1-Nenokadine and Aagadu. The 14 Reels Entertainment has again come forward to produce Mahesh’s films even after two flops. The banner has given Mahesh Babu a brand image and has made his film promotions like never other movie.

The banner created sensation in just a few years. After Dookudu bumper hit the banner went upto to produce two other movies that remain disasters of the industry. Apart from these, the 14 Reels Entertainment is again going to produce a film directed by Srikanth Addala. Srikanth told a script to Mahesh and seems like he gave a nod. The 14 Reels Entertainment has now all hopes on this project to recover from loss. 

So, can Mahesh give them profits at least the this time? Or will this be a hattrick flop to the producers? Will Mahesh work free of cost? Anyways lets not make things clear now and still analyse about what’s going to happen!

Now she was targeted again and this time for her attire in a promo song of Tmail film Katthi. A romantic song in Vijay starrer Kaththi, Samantha sported designer wear outfit, for which she got off-putting retort from anti-fans. 

They compared the costume with Brahmanandam’s in Attarintiki Daredi. Above is the pic of Samantha where her attire was very much similar to the dress Brahmi wore (as Gladiator) in Attarintiki Daredi movie comedy sequence! And we wonder what’s wrong with Samantha. While we don’t compare it with Brahmi’s dress, this is certainly a bad fashion statement from the top actress. We wish someone resurrect her fashion sense soon.

The BJP which is getting spectacular electoral successes in recent times has been making plans for inroads into South India and it is now targeting Tamil Naidu, for which it is working hard, trying to rope in Superstar Rajnikanth promising him to make the chief ministerial candidate. But till now Rajnikanth has reportedly refused to bite the bullet. 

The jail term for Jayalalithaa for recently hogged all the limelight and at a time when BJP was sensing a right opportunity, courtesy letter which was written recently by Rajnikanth to Jayalalitha wishing Jaya good health and Diwali greetings came as a surprise. Force formed to protect the interests of Telangana Artists and Technicians are severely objected to film people donating funds to Hudhud Cyclone Victims but not to the people who sacrificed their lives to Telangana cause and farmers who are committing suicides in the new state. Telangana Film Protection Force is demanding the immediate division of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce in to Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce and Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce. 

They are demanding that all the assets of the Film Chamber are to be given 60% to the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce as Nizam contributes major market for films. To counter this demands, AP Film Chamber of Commerce renamed itself to Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce previously but the agitators are not satisfied. TFPF also met Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao and demanded him to release a G.O. that every film made in Hyderabad should have 70% of employees belonging to Telangana itself.

The organization vowed to strive till the G.O. is passed. However the big heads of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce say there is no meaning in the demands of Chamber division and the industry will perish in both the states if divided.

We are hearing from certain quarters, who are quite educated about medieval history of India, about the flaws in the looks of Baahubali and Gannareddy. This might sound quite cynical for fans of the two big stars of Tollywood, but historians say that aboriginal content for the sake of entertaining audience is killing the essence of South India’s pride and history.

Talking about Prabhas’s spine-chilling look from Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali, as the newly released poster is the most talked about, historians say that it is more a South-East Asian inspired look but not truly South Indian. As the story is about a warrior set in South India, one would expect Prabhas to look more that way. But his spiky crown, sleeveless body armor have got a touch of Korean and Japanese warrior looks. If it is South Indian, then our medieval warriors wore less armor and simple or no crown at all. 

Coming to Gona Gannareddy, Allu Arjun is quite fascinating but for people with great command over English history, he is looking like another rebellion in the medieval European times. Close to the gaming character in popular ‘Assasins Creed’, Bunny resembles more of a Robin Hood style warrior but not truly a Kakatiya empire based Telugu king. As Gunasekhar says that Gannareddy character has shades of Robin Hood, maybe we have to accept that not only his character but the character-design is also having shades of that England’s historic rebel.

Probably these looks of Baahubali and Gannareddy keeping the gigantic fan bases of these heroes in mind as they don’t get thrilled until their demi-gods are shown in a never before avatar. We have to see what Rajamouli and Gunasekhar says about this criticism.
