Big Break for Tollywood, 250 Crore at Stake

Share
This is perhaps the biggest break for Telugu Film Industry in recent times. The ongoing tussle between Telugu Film Federation Employee Union (TFFEU) and Telugu Film Producers continues and intensifies. While there are no shootings for the past one week, TFFEU on Sunday issued a fresh notice to producers stating that film shootings should not be held from Monday (today). TFFEU also appealed to film actors to support their cause as they’re battling for the hike in wages of film workers working in various crafts. Although proudcers are ready to raise 10% of wages, TFFEU is not in a mood to agree and give up its bandh call. It’s been pestering its demand of 35% hike in wages. “The hike was supposed to be implemented from May but it wasn’t, leaving us with no choice but to call for a strike,” shared a member of TFFEU.
With the bandh call by TFFEU, shootings of all big-ticket films have already come to a grinding halt for the past one week. Trvikram-Allu Arjun’s film, NTR-Puri Jagannadh’s film, Pawan Kalyan-Venkatesh’s Gopala Gopala and several other films have been stuck. Fresh shooting schedules have to be reworked, producers need to take new call sheets from heroines and so permissions for the outdoor shooting spots. Delay in the shootings are costing a bomb to producers as the interests by financiers are bound to increase drastically.
Although Baahubali has been allowed to shoot last week with special permission, TFFEU said it’s going to make fresh appeal to the unit of Baahubali to stop the shooting from Monday. TFFEU is firm on halting the film shoots until their demands are met. With this, over Rs 250 Crore is at stake. The loss will be minimized only if Producers Council step up its action and end the deadlock with a logical conclusion. Till then, the loggerheads between TFFEU and producers continues and it disrupts the shootings. Perhaps, this is the biggest break for Tollywood of late.

Has Charan Okayed Kona Venkat’s Deal?

Share
What is going through Ram Charan’s mind at the moment when it comes to his next film? Earlier he indicated about a possible break for two months as he isn’t convinced about any script. Still Charan holds onto that decision, or did he change mind to sign Kona Venkat’s deal? That’s the big question.
Long back, writer Kona Venkat revealed that he has narrated a story to Mega Powerstar Ram Charan, the box-office spinner who could unleash 40+ crores with average rated content. At that time, Kona stated that he reveal about director and other details very soon. Rumors now indicate that Srivaas (Lakshyam, Loukyam fame) is roped in to direct Charan for this regular commercial masala pot-boiler. In order to relieve himself from the emotional jerk from Govindudu Andarivadele, our mega hero wants to pick a simple commercial flick first. Maybe Kona Venkat’s story and Srivas’ direction will surely help him with that. Let us see.

Sunny Leone Gets A Shruti Haasan!!!

Share
Former adult-star Sunny Leone has raised the ‘current’ in Tollywood ever since she sizzled alongside Manchu Manoj in the upcoming G.Nageswar Reddy directorial ‘Current Theega’. Her oomph factor, voluptuous curves and sensuous expressions have become the talk of town. But how much did producer Vishnu Manchu burned from his pocket to bring this ‘dazzling’ show to Tollywood? A bomb literally!!
Speaking at a reality show, Manchu Manoj revealed that his brother paid a whopping 75 lakhs to rope in Sunny Leone. That is equal to what they pay to big league of actresses like a Samantha and Shruti Haasan these days. We wonder why Vishnu has spent a bomb for an actress who hasn’t had any market here in Telugu? They say that Sunny will be prime attraction in the movie for sure and also her popularity is pan-indian despite the fact that she is limited only to Bollywood till date. But still, the price is way little high and we hope it pays at box office.

With Goa shooting schedule of Jr NTR’s latest movie under Puri Jagan’s getting delayed due to the ongoing strike of AP Telugu Film Employees Federation, it is being publicized that the star-hero will miss Sankranthi date. As Puri promised a January 9th, 2014 release at any cost, fans are now worried if these delays will hinder the chances.
In the first case, Jr NTR is one actor who could work relentlessly without taking a break. Schedule breaks, family outings, mood swings are not on cards for Junior if he decides to wrap up a movie. And, Puri Jagan is known for emulating a strict and packed shooting schedules such that there will be no wastage of a minute. With this combination locking horns, undoubtedly they are going to finish the movie in record time.
Shooting should start from today, but ongoing strike has altered their plans. Industry reports have that the strike will be called off in a day or two, so NTR-Jagan will surely cover the delay and hit screens on January 9th as promised. Don’t worry!
