Sreenu Vaitla should register for Patent?

Share

vaitla

Ever since director Sreenu Vaitla made Dhee in 2007, Tollywood has struck by its screenplay. Many directors, screenplay writers, heroes have smitten by the bug called Sreenu Vaitla. They made sure that the protagonist/hero enter into villain’s house or other way around with a false identity and there you see all stereotyped comedy and finally he brings drastic reforms in crooks by changing their hearts and finally movie ends on positive note.

Several films were made on the similar lines of Dhee so far. Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daaredi or Prabhas’ Mirchi or Manchu’s Doosukeltha, just released Loukyam are a few to name. Several directors, producers can’t forego Sreenu’s screenplay style. Not even Sreenu couldn’t come out of his Dhee style at times. It may work for few films but certainly not for all films. The ridicule now doing the rounds in Film Nagar is that Sreenu Vaitla should register for a patent on these kind of films in order to shun the others to “use” this formula.

Aluminium Threat For Film Industry

A large part of the film industry’s earnings come to the studios wherein the shootings of the film take place. Place like Ramoji Film City, Annapurna Studios, Ramanaidu Studios etc are the sought after hubs for shooting. But now, it appears that there is a slight threat these joints would be facing.

This is in the form of the Aluminium Factory located near Serlingampally. Given its vast expanse of 30 acres and the nominal pricing for conducting a shooting, many in Tollywood are opting for it. As of now, three films are on the floors happening simultaneously in the premises of Aluminimum factory.

They are Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Ice Cream’ sequel, aggressive hero Gopichand’s venture under UV Creations banner and crazy director Puri Jagannadh is shooting one movie wherein he has erected a beach set. That way, instead of going to studios which is expensive Aluminium factory is being chosen as it is relatively cheap. As such, not many big works are happening inside the factory so instead of the Aluminium industry, it has become useful for the entertainment industry.

Solar Power Movement In Hyderabad

The vision of CM KCR about shaping up a ‘Bangaru Telangana’ sounds rosy but in reality it might be taking many years. The fundamental challenge for him is to create proper infrastructure for growth of the new state. And thanks to the forced bifurcation, the capital city of Hyderabad has become the worst suffering victim.

The city has been experiencing some heavy power cuts. Currently it is 4 hours officially and experts say down the line it is going to increase. In summers it is expected to touch at least 10 hours if measures are not taken. But instead of relying on the government, many are looking for their own remedies.

Reports say that at many places solar power is being used. For that matter, even film star Nagarjuna’s house is entirely run on solar power. Many schools and educational institutions are going for solar paneling. If 8k is monthly bill through regular electrity, the solar panel installation is 6 lakhs so they are considering it as 6 years bill one-time payment.  In small establishments, 1 hour of diesel generator costs 1600 rupees so one can imagine how the corporate would incur cost when there is a power cut. That way, solar power is becoming the largest movement in Hyderabad.

NTR’s Ball in Balayya’s Court

Young Tiger NTR is currently reeling under string of flops and his fast losing his success sheen. While some blame it on his selection of scripts and judgement failure, others say his immaturity in politics affected his silver screen success.

It is known that TDP supremo Chandra Babu Naidu used NTR’s charishma sometime in 2009 elections. Though it didnot work due to various reasons, he drew massive crowds. However differences arose when Nara Lokesh made his political entry and took rapid strides showcasing his political ambitions long time before the recently held general elections.

NTR opposed Lokesh’s rise in the party and preference given to him and this angered Chandra Babu Naidu. Some say NTR overestimated his strength or underestimated Chandra Babu’s cleverness and astute political skills. He even rubbed on the wrong side of Natasimha Balakrishna. Chandra Babu quickly seized the opportunity and separated him from NTR.

Balakrishna fans stopped supporting NTR during his film releases and he was completely sidelined from the party while Balakrishna became MLA winning elections. Now with string of flops NTR seems to have realized. Buzz is he met Lokesh recently and sources say he expressed his willingness to Join hands with TDP. Lokesh informed the same to his dad and CM Chandra Babu but Babu washed his hands saying everything is in Balakrishna’s hands. Lokesh informed the same to Young Tiger. Now he is waiting eagerly for Balayya’s response. With ball in his court, Balakrishna is not responding yes or no increasing tensions in Tiger.

‘Awara’ Found Relief Through Madras

Tamil hero Karthi rings a bell among Telugu audiences too as he impressed Tollywood with his self-dubbing and subtle acting with the movie ‘Awara’. Since then he is getting good openings for his movies in Telugu as well, but is failing to convert those big starts into bit hits.

Not just Telugu versions, but the Tamil originals of his latest flicks like Biryani, Bad Boy and Sakuni too failed miserably. This pushed our hero into deep thinking as to the kind of flicks he is picking. Finally he has come up with a realistic and rustic flick titled ‘Madras’. Released yesterday, this flick received rave reviews from all quarters as critics heaped praises for its technical brilliance and emotional intensity.

‘Madras’ ended the four-year-long wait of Karthi for a ‘blockbuster’ talk on day one at box office. Unlike all the time, Madras was not dubbed into Telugu this time and now that the movie turned hit surely some distributor will bring into Telugu.

Trivikram Repeated ‘IH’ Sentiment

No publicity, no announcement and no hungama!! That’s Trivikram Srinivas decoded from the happenings that took place around ‘Industry Hit’ Attarintiki Daredi. Exactly around same time last year, Pawan’s magic took Tollywood by a surprise and went to ring registers till 73 crore share-record, the highest of all time.

Film lovers are echoing that this magical writer cum content director has repeated the same for his next with Allu Arjun. A year after delivering such a stunning hit like Pawan’s AD, Trivikram has kick-started shooting of his next project without any noise. From muhurat event to shooting plans, everything is kept under the wraps like the way AD was started at Film Nagar temple quite silently.

Bunny too revealed no single detail about the film other than the news that it is a romantic love story that has three female-leads including Samantha and Adah Sharma. Well, mega fans are hoping yet another ‘industry hit’ provided with these sentiments engulfing the flick. The ‘Julayi’ combination is at work anyway!

Charan Should Pray For Negative Hype

Share

What’s more important for success of Govindudu Andarivadele at box office? Negative hype! Yes, you read it right. At the moment, it is ‘negative’ hype that could surely save big ticket entertainers from going the disastrous way.

‘Rabhasa’ and ‘Aagadu’ disappointed fans big time, due to the heavily stuffed routine content with no stroke of new scenes. But fate is that ‘Power’ and ‘Loukyam’ are also made with similar stuff and they are getting steady reports from trade circles. Simple logic is that over ‘hype’ killed chances of Jr NTR and Mahesh as fans are expecting ‘industry hits’ from them. Otherwise, these two movies are slightly better than Raviteja and Gopichand’s offerings. Similar sounding ‘Rabhasa’ is declared disaster, while ‘Loukyam’ got a red carpet opening.

In the recent past, films like Attarintiki Daredi, Race Gurram and Manam released without a speck of ‘exaggerated’ publicity and that led to their phenomenal success. Govindudu Andarivadele being a family movie, the less the hype is, the high the success will be. Charan should pray for a negative pre-release hype such that it triggers fantastic collections post release.

Audio Review: Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya

Share

dikkulu

The music of Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya, unveiled recently, is refreshing and soothing. Each song stands out in its own respective. This is certainly out-of-the-box and experimental music album which one don’t often find/listen in Telugu. Be it “Dintana…” or “Chembistri…” or “Telipotunna” or “Anthe Premanthe”, or “Andari Rathalu” each song has an undercurrent message to present youth. Title song “Dikkulu Choodaku” seems to be a montage song before the interval. Lyrics of the album are simple, energetic and sinking with the tunes.

Yet the album has its share of shortcomings. Like we said before, this is an experimental album and may not strike chord with regular set of audiences. Especially, don’t expect romantic songs from this album. The songs are a bit slow and the length of few songs (like Dintana) might put off. Barring this, the album of Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya is novel attempt and deserves all the accolades. On whole, Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya is MM Keeravani’s masterstroke.

Pawan Is Not Solo, NTR Is Joining

Sankranthi and Dasara are two big festivals for Telugu Film Industry as filmmaker pounce on theatres that time to cash on the cash-rich holiday season. Already 2014 is on the edge of wrapping its Dasara share with Govindudu Andarivadele release, and the next big thing to look out for is Sankranthi 2015.

Irrespective of the two weeks delay due to altercations between hero and director, Jr NTR and Puri Jagan duo are on fire yet again as they resumed shoot the other day. ‘Neno Rakam’ geared up for a non-stop schedule from yesterday at a specially erected set in Aluminum factory, Hyderabad. Busy with GAV promotions, producer Bandla Ganesh confirmed that this will hit screens on January 9, 2015 as promised. Provided with the way he stood by his word on GAV’s October 1st date despite re-shoots and schedule postponements, we could surely believe that even Jr NTR will hit screens on said date.

In that case, NTR will be competing with Pawan Kalyan and Venkateshs ‘Gopala Gopala’ that is aiming for a release around same time. Till date Pawan Kalyan is solo contender in coming January, but now NTR is also joining him to rain more entertainment for Telugu audiences.

Director’s ‘Mega’ Differences With Chiru?

Mega director VV Vinayak has always publicly expressed his love for Megastar Chiranjeevi as he happens to be a hardcore mega fan since young age. But his absence at audio launch of Ram Charan’s Govindudu Andarivadele led to many speculations about a possible rift with mega family. Though Chiru likes him personally, there is no word to him about 150th flick though he bounced many ideas for scripts.

This is being said as the possible reason for ‘differences’. One may stress that Vinayak is busy with ‘script’ work of either Chiru’s 150th film or Akhil’s debut flick at it is rumored, but he surprised by making his presence felt at ‘Power’ triple platinum disc function the other day. This added more spice to the rumors that all is not well between the ‘mega’ director and Megastar.

If he could attend Power event among busy schedule, why not GAV audio launch? Close quarters however condemned all these reports saying there is no iota of truth in them. ‘Chiru is waiting for Govindudu’s release and finalizing next flick before thinking about his own 150th. There is nothing like a friction between him and Vinayak’, a source added.

Hot New Heroine @ 1 Ball, 1 Run

Share

rakul

Playing her first ‘super’ over in Tollywood, hot Miss India finalist Rakul Preet Singh is now having ‘six’ projects in her kitty and the result she could beget with each project is directly responsible for her position in Tollywood.

Rakul is the only contemporary who signed a bunch of flicks in a row, thanks for Venkatardi Express success. Along with today’s release, Gopichand’s Loukyam, Rakul is part of flicks including Manoj’s Current Teega, Ram’s Pandaga Chesko, Aadi’s Rough, Nitin’s untitled movie, Raviteja’s Kick 2. Among these six flicks, say six balls, our hot bikini-lady should hit at least two sixes to reach into big league.

With ‘Loukyam’, she proved that glamour is her forte, but seriously she should focus on improvising her ‘acting’ and ‘dancing’ skills. For any heroine to succeed commercially, these two things are most vital factors. That’s Rakul folks!

Spoof Comedies Worrying Star Fans

Share

brahmi

The ‘best’ comedy sequences that we have seen in the recent days are Brahmi’s ‘Kill Bill Pandey’ in Racegurram and now ’30 years industry’ Prithvi’s ‘Boiling Star’ in Loukyam movie. In between there are treats by Saptagiri like ‘Magajathi Aanimuthyam’ in Lovers movie. What could be read from these hilarious sequences is that most of them are entertaining audiences by throwing ‘spoofs’ on famous punch dialogues of star heroes or on their the characters themselves.

If Killbill Pandey is like Dabangg’s Chulbul Pandey, then Brahmi uses Prabhas ‘Mirchi’ dialogue, ‘Cutout choosi konni konni nammeyali dude’ in his Race Gurram comic riot. Similarly he echoed modified dialogues of various other star-heroes in Loukyam too. If we come to Prithvi’s ‘Boiling Star’ role, then Loukyam climax is full of his parody dialogues uttered by Balayya in Legend. Also this Boiling Star utters the line “Cheppandra abbayilu.. what to do, what not to do?”, mimicking Mahesh Babu even when his Aagadu punches are still running in theatres.

Fans of star heroes are unhappy with this ‘spoof’ ‘parody’ and ‘mimicking’ trend as they feel that such scenes are mere mockery of a honest effort of their heroes. ‘Roping in a comedian and making fun by parody dialogues is no healthy comedy. In fact it encourages other heroes’ fans to enjoy more than whose dialogue that is being ripped off. Is this a good trend?’ asks a cine lover.

Power Star is a Honest Star!

Share

pawan

Many wonder why people rave about Power Star Pawan Kalyan and try to gauge Pawanism. While some write it off as sheer madness and hype created by media, some of the acts of the hero itself increases his image in the society.

When traces of honesty is lost in corrupt, selfish society, Power Star turned honest star. He showed that he is not after name and fame but values relations and commitment. It is known that Pawan started Janasena Party and played pivotal role in the victory of TDP-BJP combine. During the party launch he organsied two huge public meetings in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. PVP alias Potluri Vara Prasad funded the event worth 6.5 crs from his personal account.

This PVP paid to Pawan as advance for the film he planned with him at that time. However PVP couldn’t realise his dream of becoming a MP contesting from Vijayawada. He couldn’t get the ticket as Pawan’s lobbying didnot work. So Pawan’s project with PVP didnot take off. Everyone wondered whether PVP should forego all his money. However Pawan is not that kind of person.

He returned the entire amount after taking advance from Mythri Movies banner. It is known that Pawan signed a project with Mytrhi Movies who are currently producing Mahesh-Koratala Shiva’s project. Pawan’s film will start after his Gopala Gopala and Gabbar Singh 2. Pawan proved he is very very special star.

Pretty beauties not worth a penny?

In the last few years, along with male stars and directors, even top actresses have hiked their remunerations shocking everyone? Are they worth the money, they are pocketing, even though, their presence in star movies is limited for four songs and four scenes.

Of course, they do add glam quotient but everyone knows that they can’t pull in viewers on their own. so shouldn’t they re-think about slashign their hefy pay cheques. For instance, A-listers like Tammanah, Samanta and Shruti Hassan charging around Rs. 1.75 crores each, while Kaajal, Nayantara, Anushka, Trisha are pocketing around Rs. 1.5 crore and new-age actresses like Praneetha, Regina, Rakul, Rishi Khanna are quoting between 40 to 60 lakhs, to add up to the rising costs of movies.

“First-line actresses should cut down their payments and charge 60 lakhs for their 60 days work and lesser known actresses should fixed around 20 lakhs, then it would be moderate” says a source. Will top actresses, heed to such requests?
