Mahesh Babu’s Aagadu had a bright start at the box office, but came down crashing in the week days. Collections of Aagadu on Monday and Tuesday were pathetic leaving buyers and exhibitors in dismay. Mahesh hasn’t spoken a single word about the movie after its release. Makers tried to highlight the opening collections and Aagadu’s feat in US to grab eyeballs.

Mahesh Babu is not coming for the promotions of the movie. He didn’t even tweet about the movie yet. His last tweet was posted on 9th September where he expressed his satisfaction with the final product of Aagadu. Mahesh usually tweets about the good response from fans and audience on the release day itself.

Looks like Superstar has accepted the failure this time and chose to be silent. Even the makers that have bragged about the collections of Aagadu on first and second days have gone quiet after Monday. Failures with 1 and Aagadu have come at a wrong time for Mahesh. He was cruising ahead to grab the number one spot with a hat-trick of hits before this double disaster struck! 

Twelve years back they did magic on silver screen as they shared screen space in an epic movie. And now, the Jodi is getting ready to sizzle on silver screen again, as this happens to be her ‘costly’ return to commercial cinema as she is charging a bomb for that.

With Aagadu failing to live up to expectations focus has shifted to the next big release Govindudu Andarivadele. Although GAV started off as a project with nil craze, it has surely caught the attention of film buffs with impressive audio and colorful trailers. Ram Charan has proved himself as mass hero. He is trying his luck with family entertainer this time. 

There is so much focus on GAV at the moment and people are trying to cash in on that attention by cooking up fake stories. One story which is claimed to be the story of GAV is making rounds on internet. As per this story Ram Charan will donate his kidney to his grandfather Prakash Raj. Charan wins the heart of his Babai Srikanth by arranging money for his daughter’s marriage according to the circulated story. 

But Srikanth plays the role of a bachelor in it. Even the kidney donation part is a wild imagination of some jobless writer by seeing the trailer. Govindudu Andarivadele doesn’t have a great storyline, but it has emotional elements that will connect with the family audience. There is enough action part to please Ram Charan’s mass fans. Don’t believe in these fake stories and wait for the release.

TRS MP from Nizamabad and Kalvakuntla scion Kavitha has hit out at her arch rival-Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan once again. In a blistering attack, Kavitha told a leading daily, ” Where is Pawan Kalyan now (after elections)? Why is he not coming into public? He is make-up and pack-up guy. He comes into public ahead of elections with a little make-up, does his act and goes off after elections are done. But, we have been with people ever since we come into politics and will remain so.”

Kavitha has pointed out that why Pawan suddenly became “silent” after elections though he floated a political party during the elections. Although the issue of Pawan “missing” in action has been doing the rounds for a while, with none other than the sharp criticism come from Kalvakuntla family, it has gained so much significance. Now it’s time for Pawan Kalyan and Jana Sena to give befitting reply.

Call it fly-cam effect or hot thigh show of heroine Tejaswini, RGV’s ‘Ice Cream’ got imminent attention from all quarters. Cashing on this craze, he has now come up with ‘Ice Cream 2’. This time, newcomer Mrudula Bhasakar (rechristened as Naveena by RGV) is going to fill the glamour slot. Already the movie’s audio was unveiled and film will hit screens next month.

But big surprise is that post-production work of ‘Ice Cream 3’, the third sequel is underway while the makers are planning for regular shooting of ‘Ice Cream 4 very soon. That’s shocking!! When each flick is being made at 4-5 lakhs budget, then it clocks around 2 crores in theatres, who will stop producing such crazy and creamy sequels? Though this isn’t an exhibition of sheer film making abilities, surely Ice Cream demonstrates the ‘strength’ of marketing.

Mumbai: Filmmaker E.Niwas, who last directed “Aman Ki Asha”, now plans to launch southern actress Anushka Shetty in Bollywood with his next film, titled “Juvenile”. “I have narrated the script to Anushka and she has liked it, but it’s in a very initial stage right now.

Neither we have confirmed anything nor have we got a confirmation from her end,” E. Niwas told media. “Anushka is one of the top actresses, she fits the bill (for the movie) and so we zeroed in on her. We are in the process of (finalising) it and we will take a call by end of this month (September),” he added. Talking about his film he said: “The film is titled ‘Juvenile’ and it’s a multi-starrer. It’s a fresh script and not a remake. It’s not even a women-centric film.

It has multiple stories, which get connected in the climax. I will start shooting for this film in January 2015.” Anushka is among the leading actresses of the Tamil and Telugu film industries. She is currently working in films like “Baahubali” and an untitled Tamil film with Ajith Kumar.

No one can forget the earth shattering success of King Nagarjuna’s ‘siva’ which was released on October 5, 1989. Eccentric genius Ram Gopal Varma’s takings defied the convention and so he emerged as the trend setter of tollywood. ‘Shiva’ is completing 25 years of its release on October 5, 2014.

As part of reminiscence of this movie, RGV has decided to release a documentary which marks the outstanding magnitude of Shiva in various aspects. King Nagarjuna and Amala shared the screen presence in ‘siva’. The movie had Raghuvaran, Subhalekha Sudhakar, JD Chakravarthy in the other lead roles. Muisc of the movie was given by maestro Ilayaraja. The movie was made on Annapurna Studios.

Not long ago, news of Hari Priya being cast alongside Sudeep in the Kannada remake of Telugu blockbuster Attarintiki Daredi was all over the place. Buzz had it that Hari Priya would reprise the role of Pranitha Subash in the film and producer had already paid a whopping amount as advance. Things swiftly changed and she was replaced from project “Ranna”.

With this, Hari Priya is not willing to return the advance amount to producer. Angry producer now took up the matter to Kannada Producer’s Council. Hari Priya is known for roles in films like Pilla Jamindar, and Abbayi Class Ammayi Mass in Telugu. Meanwhile, Rachita Ram is essaying the role originally played by Samantha. Let’s see whether Hari Priya will bow down to the pressure or not. 

Gopichand’s Loukyam is all set to hit the marquee on this Friday. The buzz on this film is very positive among the film circles. It has been a while since Gopichand has set cash registers ringing, but Loukyam somehow is carrying encouraging reports among the trade circles too.

Interestingly the team that has worked on the film itself is betting big on Loukyam. Writer Kona Venkat has bagged Guntur distribution rights of this film showing immense faith in its commercial outcome. Director Srivass is also having tremendous confidence in his product. He bagged the distribution rights of East Godavari.

Loukyam is said to be an out and out comedy entertainer with a hint of action that pleases the masses. Rakul Preet Singh is the heroine and Anup Rubens scored the music. Gopichand is hoping to put an end to his bad run at the box office. Loukyam team says that it could be the biggest ever grosser in Gopichand’s career.

First Weekend will be solid for any star hero and that is why they are termed as ‘star heroes’. But the real stamina of the flick will be determined on the following ‘first’ Monday. And now, here comes the Mass Raja shock that took trade pundits by a surprise. 

Slapping a punch on all young heroes, Raviteja dominated the mighty Nizam area collections on the First Monday with his ‘Power’. Though overall collections of ‘Power’ might fell short of other biggies like ‘Aagadu’ and ‘Rabhasa’ in that case, it amassed 80 lakhs on First Monday in Nizam area.

Standing in second place, Jr NTR’s Rabahsa made staggering 59 lakhs, while youngster ‘Alludu Seenu’ pocketed 43 lakhs. Most shocking result is that Mahesh Babu managed to collect only 42 lakhs with ‘Aagadu’ on First Monday Nizam. Well, Ravi’s ‘Power’ dominated the show then.

Young hero ‘Happy Days’ fame Nikhil is soon to arrive in theaters as ‘karthikeya.’ The scientific thriller based on a new story element has Colors Swathi in female lead and is directed by Chandu Monedti. In fact, the film is made as bi-lingual both in Telugu and Tamil due to nativity of the subject has more possibility of striking a chord with Tamil audience too. However, makers were scared of pitting their film against big release which occupied theatres in last one month or so.

Finally, soon after the release of ‘Govindudu Andari Vaadele’ on 1st of October, we heard that ‘karthikeya’ is likely to grace in theatres on 10th both in Telugu and Tamil. With the success of ‘Swamy Rara,’ the young hero has become little cautious in picking the projects has spent a lot of time on ‘karthikeya.’

Finally the suspense has over and India’s official entry for Oscar awards has finalized. Hindi film ‘Liar’s Dice’, a road drama about a tribal woman’s journey to find her missing husband, has been selected as India’s official entry to the upcoming Academy awards in the best foreign film category’ .

The film has been chosen by a 12-member jury appointed by the Film Federation of India (FFI), and out of a record number of 30 shortlisted films.  Liar’s Dice stars acclaimed actors Geetanjali Thapa and Nawazuddin Siddiqui is a National Award winning Hindi film too. The film won the best cinematography honour for Rajeev Ravi and best actress title for Geetanjali at the 61st National Film Awards. Liar’s Dice directed by Malayalam actress Geetu Mohandas.

India has never won an Oscar in the best foreign film category. The last Indian film that made it to the final five nominees at the Oscars was Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Lagaan’.’Mother India’ and ‘Salaam Bombay’ are the only other two Indian films to have made it to the top five.  The 87th Academy awards will take place on February 22.
