Despite his swiftness in picking second project, Pilla.. is also lying in production from an year giving no respite.

Producers of this Sai Dharam, Regina starrer however confirmed that October is going to end the drought of ‘first release’ for Sai Dharam Tej. Currently into last leg of production, ‘Pilla Nuvvuleni Jeevitham’ release is crucial for this mega hero to break his unlucky tag. Jagapathi Babu and Prakash Raj are playing two key roles in the flick, while Anup Rubens is scoring music for this AS Ravikumar Chowdary directorial.

Apparently news is doing rounds that arrested Censor Board CEO Rakesh Kumar has taken bribes regarding ‘Anjaan’. CBI officials revealed that Rakesh took bribes for allowing special screening of ‘Anjaan’ at Infinity Mall in Chennai much before Censor Certificate was issued. Examining members saw Anjaan on July 30 and Certificate was issued on August 5th, but a special screening happened on August 1st. To allow this, Rakesh demanded a Lenovo laptop, iPad and 50,000 rupees cash, say reports.

Contrary to this news, it is also being heard that Rakesh took bribe to certify Anjaan. And this rumor looks believable as none of the glamour splashing scenes of Samantha were neither chopped nor blurred. We have to see what makers of Anjaan has to say about this.

Anushka Sharma has denied the rumors that she would be marrying her cricketer Virat Kohli. Reports were rife that BCCI had permitted Anushka to stay in the same hotel where her rumoured boyfriend and Vice-captain Virat was staying during the England tour. Buzz had it that BCCI given its consent after coming to know that Virat and Anushka would tie the knot soon.

Reacting to the reports, Anushka’s manager released a statement on the behalf of actress, “There are several stories online about Anushka Sharma’s impending wedding. However I would like to set the record straight that there is absolutely no truth to these rumours and I would like to request you to refrain from conjecturing about the same.”

TV channels started buzzing this Sunday morning that actor Ajay, the antagonist of Vikramarkudu and a regular of many big-heroes movies, was caught on Saturday night in a drunk and drive check by Banjara Hills police. Actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna has stepped into a new role on reel as he is donning the hat of a CBI officer in his upcoming film Godse. As per the unit sources, Balayya plays CBI officer in the film which has scope to showcase varied emotions in this socio-political drama. We hear that the ‘trademark’ dialogues of Balayya in the film will be the highlight.

Trisha Krishnan is pairing up with Balayya in the film. Recently, Balayya was injured on the sets while canning a bike stunt scene. Now that he has recuperated, he is back to shoot. Directed by newcomer Satya Dev, the movie has musical rendition by Mani Sharma.

Geenthajali:

Makes non-star films, Geethanjali has garnered more than 5 crore till date and turning out to be a profitable prppostion for producer Kona Venkat, whose confidence on ‘hilarious comedy’, could made him cover his 7 crore investment in in two more weeks, if the collections sustain.

Sikandar:

Producer Lagadapati Sridhar has already returned 1 crore back to a distributor in Nizam and expected to refund few more crore, since his gamble went awry and even Surya presence couldn’t save the film from sinking.

Gaalipatam:

Director Sampath Nandi maiden production, has turned out to be a disappointing fare and producer would lose nearly 2 Crore of his 3.5 crore investment and distributors are in red.

Only Run Raja run and Drushyam were genuine hits as they registered profits over and above their investment, while Allu Srinu, despite being a hit, left producer 8 crore poorer since collections stuck around 25 crore out of the 33 crore investment.

Its a rarity in t-town and even more on a star-studded films in recent times. But seasoned star Venkatesh proved his stardom by drawing 20 crores on the budget of 5 crores and showed that novel films, made within a budget, would be safer proposition, than investing crores of rupees which increase the risk of the producer.

Kudos to producer Suresh Babu who made sure that it didn’t cross the specified budget and spent lavishly on promotion and showed a path, to all other star filmmakers, to learn a lesson or two, than blaming stars and audience, for their losses.

Being a producer-friendly star Venkatesh, he also completed his work in time and put in commendable performance, to pull of a very risky plot, sans cliched song and dance sequences and showed that Telugu audience are matured to accept novel themes, these days. No doubt, both celebrity brothers proved a point to one and all.

There was a time when Samantha’s presence in a film ensured its success. With Sikander, this has been proven wrong and it has made a huge dent in Samantha’s track record. While Ramayya Vastavayya can be slotted as one-odd case, Auto Nagar Surya’s debacle has increased the flop list of Samantha.

His dubbing work has also been completed. It is a known thing that NTR and vv vinayak have strong bond between them. Vinayak directed the films like ‘Aadi’, ‘Samba’ and ‘Adhurs’ with NTR and all of them turned profitable ventures of the duo.

Did Nayantara cry at private screening? Well, if the news from Kollywood sources is any thing to go by Nayantara did cry. According to sources Nayan tara cried for 30 mins continuously and that too before her alleged boy friend.

Arya recently held a private screening of his next production venture, Amara Kaaviyam, for his close friends and Nayanthara was among those who attended the screening. The film, directed by Jeeva Shankar of Naan fame, has Arya’s brother Sathya in the lead. Kollywood media abuzz that while watching the film Nayatantara continuously cried for thirty minutes.
