NTR & Balayya Steps In To Save Kalyanram?
Two of the happening Nandamuri heroes are coming forward to help their hardworking family member. We all know that Nandamuri Kalyanram is gearing up to enthral audiences with his “Pataas” very soon. Though there is clarity over the release date, if it is either January 12 or 23rd, we hear that this film has two interesting elements that will make Nandamuri fans up their collars.
Firstly, Jr NTR is giving ‘voice over’ for his big brother’s movie. After looking at the bonding between these two brothers at the recent audio release event of Pataas, we could definitely say that Tarak would go to any extent to help his brother score a success.
On the other hand, this Anil Ravipudi directorial features a remix song that has the hook like ‘Arey O Ramba’. We hear that Balayya has done a little jig for the song and the makers are keeping it a secret. In that case, NTR’s audio treat joins Balayya’s visual feast to make Pataas more exciting than ever. Wait and see.
Its Official: Amitabh Is AP’s Brand Ambassador
Andhra Pradesh Government on Tuesday appointed Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan as Brand Ambassador for Health and Medical Sector. Although AP Government took a decision in this regard long ago, It kept the news under wraps all these days just to avoid competition from other states.
AP Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas officially confirmed these reports in a press conference held a short while ago. He conveyed that Big B offered to be AP Brand Ambassador sans any price tag only because of his close association with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and the love for AP.
He Missed Out On A Hit Film
His banner secured the remake rights for the film and the hero even contemplated to act in the film for quite some time. Finally, he decided to stay off the film and his banner went ahead and released the dubbed film. Now, the film is doing decent business at the box office. But we are told that hero Ram is a little disappointed that he could not do the film himself.
Dhanush’s Tamil hit Velli Illa Pattadari (VIP) was recently released by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore in Telugu as Raghuvaran B.Tech. But the initial idea was to remake the film and Ram too toyed with the idea for a very long time.
Since the film was sold at very low costs, it has turned out to be a profitable venture for the buyers. However, though some feel that Ram could have easily bagged a hit had the film been remade, there are a couple of reasons that wouldn’t have worked in his favour. For starters, if the film was remade, the buying rates would have been different and that would have changed the monies involved completely.
Secondly, the character in the film suited Dhanush’s body language perfectly. It is very difficult for Ram or any other actor to ape the same and that would have impacted the collections. However, it has to be said that Ram did miss out on a good role after all.
Comment: Padma awards are losing their sheen
Once again a controversy has erupted over the Padma awards even before they have been officially announced with shuttler Saina Nehiwal, an Olympic bronze medallist, throwing a fit over not being considered and the sports ministry meekly caving in. The issue erupted on Friday with Saina tweeting her disappointment at her application not being considered for a Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award.
“Friends, I am not demanding for the award… My question was why my name was not sent to the home ministry (sic),” she wrote. No doubt the home ministry procedures permit such applications – but is that really the best way for such awards to be conferred by the President of India? Doesn’t it amount to purchasing such awards and also downgrading their sanctity? This apart, what purpose do these awards serve?
Awardees can’t wear the medal – at best they can frame it, as also the scroll that comes along with it – nor can they append it to their names as the uniformed forces can of the medals they are awarded. To get back to Saina, the sports ministry said Monday it would recommend her name for the award “as a special case”. On Sunday, Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had maintained that he received Saina’s nomination from the Badminton Association of India (BAI) only on Saturday.
“The ministry has since received the nomination of Saina Nehwal for Padma Bhushan Jan 3 from Badminton Association of India,” the ministry said in a statement. “In view of the achievements of Saina, the Department of Sports has decided to recommend her case for Padma Bhushan to the ministry of home affairs as a special case although the last date for making the recommendation is long over.” Does this mean that throwing a fit is a criterion?
Because Sania also raised the question of wrestler Sushil Kumar’s name being forwarded. Okay, so fight your own battle but why pull down someone else? Surely, this is not what Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympics, had in mind when he coined the expression: “The important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle; the essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.” Now take the awards for sportspersons.
A year ago, on Jan 3 to be precise, the sports minister issued fresh guidelines for selecting sportspersons for the Arjuna and other such awards. Henceforth, 90 percent weightage would be given to winners of medals at various international championships and sports events of disciplines covered by the Olympics (summer, winter and paralympics), the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games.
Winners of medals in Olympics and Paralympics will automatically be considered for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna or Arjuna Awards, depending on the type of medal won, if they have already not been conferred with either of the two top awards. But then, given the large number of court cases last year, notably boxer Manoj Kumar winning his Arjuna Award through a court order, raises doubts about the sanctity of such guidelines, particularly when the sports ministry has made an exception for Saina.
And, if the handing out of such awards is meant to spur the recipients, that hardly is the case. With these awards considerably losing their sheen, do they serve any purpose in this day and age? Perhaps the time has come to retain only the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, and do away with the rest.
Ram Charan’s Powerful reply to Critics!
Ram Charan tried for an image makeover with his previous film Govindudu Andarivadele. Although Charan’s attempt was appreciated, the film didn’t give the necessary boost to the actor who thought of penetrating into the overseas market. With GAV ending up as an average fare, critics of Ram Charan branded him as one dimensional actor.
Mega Powerstar is all set to hit back at his critics with his next film directed by Srinu Vaitla. This film is said to be a complete entertainer that has everything to please all sections of audience. Srinu Vailta, who received brickbats for his previous film Aagadu, is hell bent on proving his capabilities as director with this movie.
This is the first film of Ram Charan that has loads of comedy as well as action besides family drama. Srinu Vailta’s script has everything for everyone and the sources close to Charan are betting big on this one. This will be Charan’s film that will do wonders from A to C centers, they say. We are waiting Charan!
Mahesh & Pawan – The Bipolar Of Tollywood
How familiar are you with the evolution of Telugu cinema? Are you interested to know something unique and appealing? Maybe what we are about to share could intrigue you. We are talking about the way the industry has been dominated in a particular vertical. During one era, Tollywood was ruled by the duo of NTR-ANR.
And then came the era of Chiranjeevi-Balakrishna-Nagarjuna-Venkatesh. Though they were the four biggies, the main war was always between Chiru and Balayya. The point we are asserting is, Tollywood has run on a bipolar scenario. So, what is the situation currently? Is it unipolar or bipolar? Well, the two big names in contention right now is Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu.
But can we say that PK is way ahead of Mahesh? If we look at his recent graph, he is riding high with back to back blockbusters and he also got the PM’s recognition by becoming the shadow on both winning governments in state and center. Ultimately, success matters a lot. If Pawan’s new movie ‘Gopala Gopala’ becomes a hit then he would be on top for the next four years.
As for Mahesh, he has seen back to back flops and if he had scored hits then he would have gone up. But still, even today when a Mahesh Babu film is on the anvil, the expectations and business runs high just like his blockbuster hits. That way, we can deduce that Tollywood is still in bipolar situation because both are on par and continue to rule the industry dynamics.
It’s Just Rumour About Rudramadevi
As news engulfed tinsel town that the first ever trailer of magnum opus ‘Rudramadevi’ is getting ready to release on the eve of coming Sankranthi, director Gunasekhar has jumped into the scene to clear the air. He made sure that there is nothing like a trailer treat in the offing from his team.
Featuring Anushka as Rani Rudramadevi of the Kakathiya empire and Rana Daggubati as her husband Chalukya Veerabhadra, creative director Gunasekhar is producing and directing this mammoth budgeted historical wonder.
Allu Arjun is playing a special cameo in the movie in the shoes of Gona Gannareddy. “Rudramadevi trailer will be out soon as the impending postproduction work is not making it possible to release immediately. But definitely, it is not releasing for Sankranthi”, says Gunasekhar.

She happens to be the sexy sister of sexiest herine Priyanka Chopra, and both these hotties posed for celebrated photographer Daboo Ratnani’s 2015 calendar in unique looks.
Bespectacled look and that Cuban cigar in hand make Parineeti the most adorable lady in town. Though her recent flicks like Kill Dill flopped big time at box office, her newly achieved slim look is a hit. As guys are going gaga over her curvy look, she flaunts her toned thighs and saucy expressions by sitting in a bath tub. That’s Parineeti for you folks.
Kalyan Ram Dropping Out From Race??
Pawan-Venky’s ‘Gopala Gopala’ is yet to declare its firm stand on the release, producer Suresh Babu made it clear to distributors that it will be either January 9th or 10th. They are going to finalize the date after discussing with all the leading distributors and buyers. On the flipside, makers of ‘I’ confirmed that January 14th is their arrival date.
This has put Nandamuri Kalyanram’s ‘Pataas’ in a jinx now, as he thought of arriving on January 12th. Apparently the distance between Gopala Gopala and I is just five days, leaving very short gap for any other film in get in the middle. Though availability of theatres is not an issue, primary concern here is the hit-nature of these films.
Generally in holiday season, family audiences consider to watch hit movies and enjoy rather patronizing a film with average content. As Pataas happens to be a regular mass masala movie, Kalyan Ram and his distributor Dil Raju are not sure if they could cash on the Sankranthi season. Presence of two other biggies is slimming their chances. For the now, January 23rd is also being considered.
Telangana Is Part Of India – AP Minister
Bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh into AP and Telangana started creating various problems for people of both the states. Ruling parties confrontation attitude on all issues only increased tensions among people. Governments fighting to conduct Inter and EAMCET exams on their own created confusion among students.
Governor Narasimhan’s intervention and his meeting with the education ministers of both the states didn’t solve the problem. Both the ministers went to Delhi and met union minister Venkaiah Naidu. Even after the meeting Telangana education minister Jagadeesh Reddy accused Andhra Pradesh of creating problems.
AP education minister passed a satire that Telangana is a part of India. He took on Telangana government’s rigid approach and asked it to follow Indian constitution for the benefit of students.
Controversy Between Two ‘Tigers’
According to insider information, makers of Raviteja’s forthcoming film ‘Bengal Tiger’ have lodged an objection with Sandeep Kishan’s latest movie ‘Tiger’. This is regarding the usage of title as they claimed that director Sampath Nandi has registered this title long back and now they want Sandeep to change his.
Recently, Sampath Nandi announced ‘Bengal Tiger’ with Raviteja after he got exited from Pawan’s Gabbar Singh 2 for unknown reasons. This film’s shooting will be started after March 2015. However, shooting of Sandeep Kishan’s ‘Tiger’ which has director AR Murugadoss protege V.I. Anand has started and rolling. By now, Sandeep’s ‘Tiger’ has completed around 70% shooting at various locations like Varanasi, Hyderabad and others.
We hear that Sampath Nandi wants Sandeep’s makers to drop the title as that will affect chances of ‘Bengal Tiger’s impact on audiences. Sampath is heard claiming that he has registered the title a year back. None of the parties are available for a comment. More details of the controversy are yet to be revealed.
Video Talk: ‘I’ Beast and his beauty
Director Shankar is quite tricky with his promotion plans as he didn’t even released a single video of the songs from the upcoming marvel ‘I’ that is hitting on January 14th. While Telugu and Tamil audiences are getting no glimpse of his fantasy work, Hindi audiences are literally falling flat over it as he released Hindi video songs now.
Apparently Shankar released the ‘Beast and Beauty’ conceptual video song “Tum Todo Na” in Hindi language. Featuring Vikram as a beast, a wolverine inspired character and Amy Jackson as a beautiful princess he runs after, the song stunned Bollywood folks with its creativity.
The story of the song goes like this- “As the beast looking King tries to woo a beautiful princess, she gets scared and runs away. Finally when flying angels are taking her away, then he kills himself to showcase his real identity, a handsome prince Vikram”. Watch it yourself to feel the punch.

Sunanda Pushkar was Murdered: Police
Finally, almost an year after the death of ex Union Minister Shash Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar (Jan 18, 2014), Delhi police have registered her death as murder and a murder case was booked on Tuesday in the mysterious death of former union minister Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar. Police changed the case to murder based on her medical reports. The room where Sunanda Pushkar was found dead was revisited by police and forensic experts recently.
The suite had remained sealed and was opened for the first time since the incident. Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi said the case has been registered based on medical reports from Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences received on December 29. He said the report stated that the “death was unnatural” and “due to poisoning”, either poisoned orally or poison injected. The officer said a viscera report is awaited.
Sunanda’s husband, Shashi Tharoor will soon be questioned in connection with the case, say reports. The AIIMS medical board had, in its second report submitted to police, confirmed poisoning as the reason behind her death but did not mention the type of poison that caused her death. They had listed some kind of poisons most of which were radioactive isotopes that cannot be detected by labs in India. According to a senior police official, police are now mulling sending the viscera samples to a UK-based laboratory, which has facilities to test all kinds of poisons.
Sunanda Pushkar was found dead at a five-star hotel in South Delhi on the night of January 17, a day after her twitter spat with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar over the latter’s alleged affair with Tharoor. The three mobile phones and a laptop of the deceased have already been sent to a forensic laboratory in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, for investigations to check whether anything was deleted from the gadgets post her death.
