Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is one man who has humongous fan base across all sections of audience and needless to say that he holds the pulse of mass audience. Going by latest reports, Ravi Teja’s forthcoming film Power has been sold out for record price of Rs 9 Crore in Nizam area alone. Producer Dil Raju has bagged the theatrical rights of the film for Nizam. This is said to be highest price for Nizam area in Ravi Teja’s career. And negotiations for other areas are underway.

Already, the teaser and audio has got tremendous response. Starring Hansika and Regina Cassandra, the movie is being directed by first-timer Bobby (KS Ravindra) who penned films like Balupu. Ravi Teja will be seen in a full-time cop role in the film.

‘Being a top producer’s son, a star hero and with money, I struggled to produce this short-film. It’s no joke. Now I understood the hard work these short film makers are putting in’, said Allu Arjun, at the press meet of ‘I Am That Change’, a short film produced by Bunny and directed by Sukumar.

‘Passion in heart, concept in mind and camera in hand are the only infrastructure those short filmmakers have. I sincerely bow down to their passion’, Bunny stressed, praising the community of short film makers. Coming to his short film, he says, ‘I wanted to do something for society from a while, but never had an idea. Sukumar has come with this concept and we have shot it in two days. If we glance at freedom fighters have done to our nation, my contribution is nothing’. The leading star hero expressed the need for every youth to do something for the nation and praised his cast and crew who charged nothing or peanuts to work on this short.

Director Sukumar too felt excited for directing this short film, as he says that social-service oriented non-profitable flicks always excite him. This short film will be screened in theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on August 15th, while chances are there it will be aired on TV too.

India’s premiere investigation agency, the Central Bureau of Investigation, has finally stepped into investigating popular actress Jiah Khan’s suicide case. With a Mumbai special court ordering CBI to step into the case, the investigation agency started its work, for which even Jiah’s mother is demanding from a time.

Actress Jiah Khan, 25 year old, is popular for her hot role in RGV-Amitabh’s Nishabd, and also her short stint in Housefull movie. She was found hanging to death at her residence in Mumbai on June 3 and a special investigation team concluded the case as a self-killing. As Jiah was in a strained love-affair with aspiring actor Suraj Pancholi, as revealed by the suicide note found at scene of death, Mumbai police also registered a case of abetting suicide on Suraj.

But the private forensic investigations that were done at the behest of Jiah’s mother indicated this is a possible homicide. Finding the private investigation report and SIT report contradicting each other, Mumbai Court has ordered CBI to take the mantle, confirms a CBI spokesperson.

‘If you don’t like it, then don’t watch it. Don’t be sensitive to such things, what will you hide from today’s smart youth in the age of internet?’, asked Supreme Court, dismissing the PIL against Superstar Aamir Khan and his director Rajkumar Hirani for the obscenity in the first look poster of their latest flick ‘PK’.

Earlier when Aamir’s PK first look was released, a Kanpur based lawyer and All India Human Rights and Social Justice Front have filed a petition to ban the movie PK accusing that the makers are promoting nudity and obscenity. Refusing to entertain such petitions, SC slammed the petitioners for also bringing religious facet to films. ‘Restrictions on film release would affect constitutional rights of film makers’, SC added.

On the other hand, Aamir Khan added that this nude-poster is not for cheap publicity before concluding that the next poster will not have even a transistor radio. In the first look of PK, Amir Khan is seen standing naked beside a railway track situated in a desert. A radio in his hand hides his modesty.

Crooned by Raviteja, this song from Thaman’s stable is topping the charts already while rest of the album too impressed music lovers.

With the filming of this song, Power shooting got wrapped up completely and only post-production is pending now. Two powerful heroes NT Rama Rao, Jr and Allu Arjun, never juxtaposes their imaginative beside director’s vision to create conflicts. But when situation demands their involvement, certainly they will never take a backseat to open their creative hot gates.

We heard it from ‘Rabhasa’ sources that Jr NTR is giving final touches to the first-copy of the movie. Director Santosh Srinivas has anyway made a noteworthy package for Nandamuri fans, but Tarak is worried about lag in certain scenes. He himself is throwing suggestions at editor’s table, issuing cuts and change of order. Similarly Bunny is also seen taking extra care about his short film ‘I Am That Change’. Sitting in the recording studio, he is making music director Sai Kartheek finish the background score job as per his liking. Being both actor and producer for this short billed to be a social-message oriented, the Mega hero’s involvement is justified.

Of course, with years of experience under their arms, any star-hero could easily guess what works and what not as if like a director, at least after seeing the output once. As long as their creative involvement doesn’t affect relation with a director, it’s cool as anything bad will put hero’s image at stake.

As we reported already, this Independence Day is going to witness clash of a big-ticket entertainer and a small budgeted stunner on Tollywood screens. One being a Linguswamy-Surya film, Sikander has all that attention, while other one, Maruthi’s Lovers looks like an underdog though could throw its paws much bigger.

Surya and Samantha are anyway on their best possible form, and including Linguswamy they are on a hit track only. Coming to ‘Lovers’, three persons need an immediate hit for the kind of clouds enclosing them. Maruthi hasn’t started his next though his last offing Kotha Janta registered decent figures at box office. After approaching Sunil and Nitin with scripts, and facing issues over Venky’s Radha, he is yet to take off with a new. While he is penning story and dialogues for Lovers, those two would make real big difference for the movie.

Other two that are awaiting a change of fate are Sumanth Ashwin and Nanditha. Despite their last flicks Anthaka Mundu and Prema Katha Chitram being hits, these two haven’t catapulted into the list of happening actors club. Probably they need more push for Telugu film makers run after them. It is gonna be this August 15th release that topples the fate anyway.

NTR is all set to don police hat in his upcoming film directed by Puri Jagannadh. For the first time, NTR will be seen in a full-fledged cop role and of course, in Khakhi uniform. Puri Jagannadh, who has a knack for churning out eccentric cop roles in his previous films like Pokiri is at it again and this time we hear that Puri has made the role more stylished.

‘NTR plays a police inspector in the film and the shooting is currently going on briskly, The movie has loads of entertainment along with high doses of action. Puri’s trademark dialogues will be highlight in the film,’ says a source.

Currently ‘Aagadu’ is into its last leg of production with the unit moving to Switzerland to film a couple of songs on Mahesh and Tamanna. Touted to be an action-entertainer, the film features couple of action sequences shot abroad. Thaman’s renditions will be released on Aug 28th in a grand gala event, while movie is slated to hit screens on Sep 19.

Ask her when her interest on films did grow, and that first Tamil flick she has watched. ‘I watched my first Tamil flick when I’m studying intermediate first year, and that is Gowtham Menon’s Khakha Khaka (Venky’s Gharshana)’, said Samantha. Well, that is a shocking revelation, as to why she hadn’t visited any Tamil movie till then, despite being a Chennai resident. ‘We used to reside in Pallavaram, a distant suburb of Chennai. Suriya-Samantha’s Sikinder and Low Budget Rom-Com Lovers are the notable releases as far as Tollywood Box office is concerned. Sikinder is going to release big across the state with no big films around.

However, it is not going to be cakewalk for this mass masala film directed by super successful Linguswamy. It will face stiff competition from Lovers, which is carrying positive talk from the industry sources. It is a breezy entertainer with a hilarious second half, said our sources. Budding Comedian Sapthagiri is going to be the major asset for Lovers.

Sapthagiri’s role in this film is an extension to his highly successful character in Prema Katha Chitram. Maruthi who penned some of the hilarious scenes in PKC has come up with very good humor in Lovers too said the sources. We can’t look down on small films now as few movies like Run Raja Run have proved that they could do wonders at the box office with strong content.
