Maine Pyar Kiya Review

Movie Story

Naveen (Pradeep Ryan) is a software employee flirts with every girl but fails to woo stunning HR Manager (Komal Jha) in the office. A new girl Shalini (Isha Talwar) joins the office is surprisingly his childhood classmate. Owing to bitter past, Naveen keeps his identity under wraps and develops fresh and romantic relationship with Shalini. When the girl makes a decision to accept his love, she gets to know the truth about Naveen. The flashback episode of Shalini’s uncle (Satyadev) and his love interest (Madhumitha) forms the major crux of the film.

Movie Advantages

1. Flashback episodes

2. Satyadev performance

3. Vishweshwar S V cinematography

4. Isha Talwar, Komal Jha glamour

5. Few comedy scenes

Movie Drawbacks

1. Ordinary story

2. Boring First Half

3. Pathetic climax

4. Posani torturous episodes

5. Comedians wasted

Analysis

Director Pradeep Maadugula picked a regular story, although he should have worked more on screenplay of first half which runs at dead slow pace. However his treatment in second half is fascinating. He dealt the flashback episodes persuasively. You need to wait patiently till the end of first half to experience retro romance in second half. Then real torture starts when Posani Krishna Murali enters as gay. His episodes were misfired and spoiled the smooth journey in second half.

Satyadev is surprising factor as he performed like a well matured artist as young guy and as middle age man. He will have bright future if he picks challenging roles like what he got in the movie. Madhumitha was appealing and got good, short role. Pradeep Betno and Isha Talwar are pretty average. While Pradeep Betno gave odd expressions and didn’t bother of delivering dialogues rightly, Isha Talwar was mostly seen with same expression throughout the movie. She got a very brief role.

Komal Jha was glamorous and comedian Venu provided little laughs. Other artists like Posani, Viva Harsha were wasted completely.Vishweshwar S V cinematography is major asset while V Pradeep Kumar’s songs and background score were middling. Production values were decent.

Overall, Maine Pyar Kiya is not a worth watch movie in theaters.

Movie Result: Flop

Indrudu Movie Review

Story:

The first half is interesting with Vishal introduction and establishment of a kid experiencing Narcolepsy from childhood. It is an uncommon neurological issue that influences the control of sleep and the hero falls asleep sometime or another of time when he experience extreme happiness, or any form form of extreme emotions.

Vishal has a dairy in which he records 10 desires in life which he wish to fulfill. He is supported by his friends (Jagan and Sundar Ramu) as he wanders onward to fulfill his goals, egged on by his loving mother (Saranya Ponvannan). Indra meets Meera (Lakshmi Menon) daughter of a rich business magnet( (JP) and her interest in him gradually transform into love. But her father expects that Indra can’t lead a cheerful married life and won’t have the capacity to make him a granddad. But Meera takes an extreme step to help her boyfriend defeat his issue. However destiny intercedes savagely as she is ruthlessly gang raped in front of Indra who is on sleep mode! How Indra recognizes the real culprits forms the rest of the stroy!

Star performance:

Vishal : He Perfomed well as Narcolepsy patient. It’s  not so easy to essay the character he did. In some scenes where he collapses all of a sudden looks very natural.

Laxmi Menon : She Perfoms well and her chemistry with Vishal is good. In the scenes where goons attack her, she gave superb and natural expressions of pain and agony.

Sharanya : She played as Vishal’s mother in this film. She needs special mention as she did justice to her character.

Technical Team:

Music : GV Prakash Music is Biggest asset of this movie. Back ground score is extra ordinary.

CinematographyRichard M Nathan’s camera especially night effect and top angle shots add to the mood of the film

Editing : Rubens editing is very crisp and needs special mention.

Direction : Thiru, he utilized a little story line in a very effective way.It seems he did lot of research about Narcolepsy, and composed a decent screenplay to keep up the pace of the film. He succeded to extract great perfomances from his artists.

What is Good?

– Screenplay
– Cinematography
– Concept
– Vishal Performace

Oohalu Gusagusalade Movie Review

Actor Srinivas Avasarala made debut as director with Oohalu Gusagusalade. This small film has caught the attention of movie buffs with cute trailers and soothing music. Oohalu Gusagusalade has enough to impress the audience who go with certain expectations after watching the trailers.
What is it about?

Venkateswara Rao (Naga Shourya) falls in love with Prabhavathi (Rashi Khanna) when they meet during a summer vacation. Prabha doesn’t approve Venky’s love and leaves him without any note. After many years Venky meets Prabhavathi again in a situation where he couldn’t confess his love. He is caught up between his love and career as he agrees to help his Boss (Srinivas Avasarala) in impressing his fiancee, who is none other than Prabhavathi!

Performance:

Naga Shourya: Naga Shourya suits the role of Venkateswara Rao to the T. He just behaves like a typical youngster and that brings so much believability to his character. He doesn’t try too hard to impress with extraordinary performance and puts it simple. Naga Shourya is a talent to watch out for.

Rashi Khanna: Rashi Khanna should consider herself lucky for bagging this beautiful role. She is elegant and did justice to her character.

Srinivas Avasarala: We all know how good an actor Srinivas Avasarala is. He has once again impressed with his portrayal of Uday character in this film. He has a unique sense of humor and that makes him special among the actors who do comedic roles.

Most of the film revolves around the three principal characters and there are some noteworthy performances from Rao Ramesh, Pragathi, Pridhvi Raj and Posani.

Technicalities:

Direction: Srinivas Avasarala is a bundle of talent. He has excelled as writer and director in this film. Dialogues written by him are witty. They will tickle you throughout the film. As a director Srinivas ably handled this film. He made sure that the film offers some pleasant romantic moments besides the entertainment and fun. We can expect more such works from Srinivas Avasarala judging by the job he has done in his maiden directorial venture.

Music: Music is in sync with the movie. All the songs come as part of the story. Kalyani Koduri’s songs and background score complements the film well.

Others: Cinematography is neat and editor also has done decent job in keeping this short and sweet. Producer Sai Korrapati has once again proved that he has good taste in choosing the scripts. He should be lauded for backing a film like OGL.

Thumbs Up:
Perfromances by the lead cast

Script

Music
Thumbs Down:

Pace is bit slow at times

Few comedy scenes didn’t come out as desired

Analysis:

Oohalu Gusagusalade is a genuine romantic comedy that checks all the boxes of the genre. The story of the film is simple and the director kept everything sweet and simple. Right from the actors performance to the work done by all the technicians is in perfect sync with the feel of the movie. Debut director Srinivas Avasarala deserves a pat for having so much command over all the crafts.

Oohalu Gusagusalade is a director’s film and there are some feel good moments that one would appreciate the skills of the director. Srinivas also excelled as a writer by coming up with some genuinely humorous dialogues. First half of the film has very good romantic scenes especially in the Vizag episode.

Second half focuses on the comedy part with Srinivas Avasarala dominating the show. Certain parts in this second half could have been dealt better. The pace gets noticeably slow at times which will restrict its audience. Despite the minor hiccups and slow pace this film will appeal to the target audience. This film has potential to do well in Cities if promoted aggressively. Watch it if you are a fan of romantic comedies.

Verdict: Impressive Romantic Entertainer.

Jump Jilani Movie Review

Allari Naresh who has been running through rough phase in his career has tried his luck again with Jump Jilani. This time in a duel role! Did the dual role work in favor of Naresh to put him back on track?

What is it about?

Sattibabu and Rambabu are twins (Naresh and Naresh). Sattibabu struggles hard to run his small hotel and Rambabu is a thief and gambler. Sattibabu falls in love with Madhavi (Isha Chawla) who belongs to a factionist family. When Sattibabu is making attempts to elope with Madhavi, gambler Rambabu loses a bet and put the hotel at stake.

Performance:

Allari Naresh did his best in the dual roles. However the script is too weak for Naresh to make it click. He should take care of the subjects to be in business. Isha Chawla is just okay. Swathi Dixit took care of the glamour department. Posani Krishna Murali comedy didn’t work out. Rao Ramesh is routine. Kota Srinivasa Rao did his usual bit of supporting role. Raghu Babu’s over the top comedy is boring. None of the comedy actors clicked due to poor writing.

Technicalities:

Direction: Sattibabu failed big time in making this so called comedy work. The script is too clichéd and stale for the viewers liking. Sattibabu made some fun filled movies in the past. But this time he is handicapped with a weak script and he couldn’t do much with it. First half has some good jokes but second half is a big yawn.

Music: Music is one of the biggest weak links of this film. None of the songs are impressive. Background score is a letdown too.

Others: Dialogues work here and there. Cinematography has nothing to write about. There is so much lag in the film. Editor is caught sleeping with so much unnecessary stuff making into the final cut.

Thumbs Up:

  • Allari Naresh dual roles

Thumbs Down:

  • Music
  • Script
  • Direction

Analysis: Jump Jilani has a story as old as Charminar and no wonder director is left without clue after a point. You keep wondering about the plot until the interval point. Timid hero going into a factionist family to bring his lover is seen many times already. Even Tagubothu Ramesh character says the same.

There are many threads included into the story to make it a full 150 minutes movie. Rao Ramesh’s track of searching for diamonds, Bharath’s track of targeting hero’s hotel doesn’t make things interesting. Comedy didn’t work out for most part of the film and that makes it a painful watch.

There are two heroines in the film and there absolutely no romance. Characters are poorly written and comedians couldn’t do much to make this work. Jump Jilani will easily go down as one more forgettable film for Naresh who is running through lean phase. High time for him to up the ante or else he will be forgotten soon. Jump Jilani is a film where you search for fast forward button all the time. It may not click on TV as well.

Caution:Jump Jilani – Stale Comedy!
