Is Chiranjeevi better than CM Kiran ?

Share
Endowment minister C Ramachandraiah seems to have taken the responsibility of endorsing Union Minister Chiranjeevi.
The senior politician came up with some sensational comments yet again. ‘Congress desperately need the services of Chiranjeevi. What’s wrong if he is the CM candidate of the party in the upcoming polls? People are of the opinion that Megastar would be a better option than CM Kiran Kumar Reddy to lead Congress,’ opined the minister, addressing the media persons in Vijayawada.
On the other hand, CM’s coterie is taking potshots at Chiranjeevi accusing him of using C Ramachandraiah for his political goals. They have been expressing the opinion that Congress has give a new lease of life to Chiru who winded up PRP in no time by offering his the Union Ministry, but still he isn’t satisfied and aiming to occupy the CM chair even though he hasn’t done nothing much to the party until now.
Chiru’s recent election campaign for Karnataka polls have helped him fall in the eyes of High Command. Most probably, Megastar would lead Congress in 2014 polls.

His security personnel also reportedly pounced them. The affected people lodged a complaint in Banjara Hills PS regarding the same and said they were at no wrong.

But seems like things are not quite well with this venture as the producers of the film ‘R.R. Movie Makers’ are running through huge financial crisis. 80% of the shooting is almost complete and the remaining is yet to be shot. Deva had been patiently waiting for the next schedule of shooting but hasn’t got a nod from the makers. He expressed his displeasure on Twitter about this stating “I changed my dp b’cause it’s been quite a pain to see or remember anything related to ANS”.

Samantha is the female lead. The movie is being produced by K Achi Reddy under Max India banner while RR Movie Makers presenting it. Anoop Rubens is the music director of the film. Let’s hope the makers of the film clear their financial worries and get the movie to floors.

Will Sonia Gandhi obeys her MP’s

Congress MPs of the state are mounting pressure on the party chief Sonia Gandhi not to attend the unveiling of the statue of TDP founder N T Rama Rao in the parliament house on Tuesday.

MPs Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, Lagadapati Rajagopal, Sai Pratap, Ananta Venkatarami Reddy and others met the party chief on Monday and urged her not to attend the statue unveiling, as NTR had fought the Congress all his life.

It may be mentioned here that the statue of NTR was erected at the entrance to Rajya Sabha in the Parliament premises and Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar would be unveiling it on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, TDP MPs led by Nama Nageswara Rao met the Speaker here on Monday and lodged a formal protest at the party chief Chandra Babu Naidu not getting an official invitation for the function.

Atlast CBN received invitation

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu Monday received an invitation for the ceremony to unveil party founder N.T. Rama Rao’s statue in Parliament House Tuesday.

However, the late leader’s widow Lakshmi Parvathi was ignored, triggering a row.

Naidu received the invitation hours after a delegation of TDP MPs met Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar to lodge a protest that their leader was not being invited to the ceremony.

Later, NTR’s daughter and union minister D. Purandeswari also told reporters in Delhi that invitations were sent to Naidu and his wife Bhuvaneswari.

TDP MP N. Nageswara Rao said Naidu, who received the invitation from the office of the speaker, would be attending the ceremony. He said though Purandeswari and the Congress were playing politics over the issue, Naidu decided to attend the ceremony as it was aimed at honouring their party founder.

Earlier, Naidu, who claims to inherit the political legacy of the late leader, and the TDP founder’s second wife Lakshmi Parvathi, complained that they had not received invitations to the ceremony. Both of them blamed Purandeswari.

NTR’s family has been wrangling over the installation of the statue for 13 long years.

Purandeswari, who joined the Congress party in 2004, now serves as minister of state at the centre for the second term. She donated the nine-foot-three-inch tall bronze statue, which weighs 900 kg.

NTR’s son and film actor N. Balakrishna hit back at his sister and defended Naidu, who blamed his successor Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for not donating the statue.

Balakrishna, whose daughter is married to Naidu’s son, is also likely to attend the ceremony. NTR’s elder son N. Harikrishna and grandson and popular actor Junior NTR are flying to Delhi to be present during the ceremony.

Lakshmi Parvathi has threatened to move court over the issue. “If the speaker doesn’t invite the wife of the leader whose statue is being installed, she is unfit to hold the key post,” NTR’s widow said, also blaming Purandeswari for not being invited.

After NTR’s death in January 1996, Parvathi went into political oblivion. Purandeswari, her husband D. Venkateshwara Rao and some other family members targeted Naidu on many occasions for what they call “backstabbing” NTR.

A popular actor, NTR had floated the TDP in 1982 on the slogan of “Telugu self-respect”. Creating a record of sorts, he came to power within nine months of the formation of the TDP, ending the monopoly of the Congress party in state politics.

With pro-poor schemes like the Rs.2-per-kg rice and total prohibition, NTR went on to become the most popular politician in the state’s history.

Arguments on the bail petition of the YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy concluded in the Supreme Court on Monday.

The court which the heard the arguments of the CBI’s counsel Ashok Bhan who said Jagan should not be given bail as the investigation was in a key stage and Jagan’s lawyers Harish Salve and Mukul Rohatgi who charged the CBI of overstepping his authority, reserved the judgment.

The supreme court judge asked the CBI to state why extension of Jagan’s custody was necessary.

Jagan’s lawyers  had pointed that the CBI putting forth contradictory arguments in the high court and the Supreme Court. Stating that being a MP and the president of a political party Jagan would not run away, Jagan’s counsel asked for at least interim bail.

Senior lawyers Harish Salve and Mukul Rohatgi who argued Jagan’s case, pointed that the CBI told the high court that Jagan’s custody was needed on seven issues and in the Supreme Court that no custody was needed. They asked why Jagan was kept in jail for nearly one year.

Arguing the case on behalf of the CBI, Ashok Bhan said that conclusion of Jagan’s case would take four to six months more. The lawyer said that presently investigation was on, on the investments into Jagan’s companies from abroad and bail should not be issued at this juncture. The lawyer also said that CBI sleuths sought information from 6 countries about the investments and were even visiting these countries to know the facts.

Jagan’s lawyers pointed out that as a party chief he has to prepare his party for elections and pleaded that at least interim bail should be given to him.

Nagrjuna forced to postpone Tadakha

When Fans are repeatedly complaining and requesting on maintenance of a minimum three to four weeks of gap between any two films releasing from heroes of same family, still the calculations aren’t going right. Here comes a fresh example in the form of Nagarjuna’s ‘greekuveerudu’ arrived in theatres on 3rd of this month to be followed by Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Tadakha’ on 10th which means at a just gap of one week.

As ‘Tadakha’ is a multi-star flick with Sunil in one more lead character and Tamanna, Andrea Jeremiah in glamour roles, more advantage is the same story is proved as a blockbuster in Tamil as ‘Vettai.’ If Nagarjuna wanted, he could have forced producer Bellamkonda Suresh to postpone ‘Tadakha’ by one or two more weeks. Given, the advantage of summer season…he took a fair decision by allowing ‘Tadakha’ to compete with ‘greekuveerudu.’

Not recognising NTR’s talent

Share

Tollywood and movie lovers can never forget NTR. The three letters it self make anyone’s chest expand with pride. Whatever many be the political viewpoint one will be unanimous that NTR was the greatest actor in the world.

But NTR who is popular as Peddayana in the industry and Anna in politics was not even given any award except Padmasri while lesser mortals won many awards. True that no one can stop talent, but his record breaking performance of coming to power by launching TDP in state and disloding Cong is working against him.

While Indian Cinema celebrated 100 yrs, its a shame that no one remembered NTR even after National Media in a poll found out that he is the most popular actor. Country felicitates great actors with Dada Saheb Phalke award and till now 44 recieved them of which 6 were telugu people.

Though they are talented, it highlights the sad state of affairs and politics while not recognising actor, director, producer, studio owner, social worker and former CM NTR’s talents.
