The Global AI Summit, which was conducted on a grand scale over several days, concluded today after witnessing both major announcements and unexpected controversies. One of the key setbacks during the event involved Galgotias University, which reportedly showcased a Chinese-made robot as its own innovation. The incident sparked criticism and caused embarrassment at an international platform meant to highlight India’s technological progress.

Despite this controversy, Andhra Pradesh emerged as a strong talking point at the summit, positioning itself as a proactive contributor to India’s AI growth story.

Global tech leaders, including Sundar Pichai, reportedly mentioned Visakhapatnam as an important hub in the evolving global AI infrastructure landscape. Vizag’s growing role in attracting data centre investments was acknowledged, with appreciation expressed for the state government’s support in facilitating such initiatives.

Andhra Pradesh also stood out as the only state to host two dedicated panel sessions at the summit. One session focused on AI-driven agricultural transformation, where global industry leaders discussed how artificial intelligence is reshaping farming practices. Another session centered on integrating Quantum technology with AI through an India–USA partnership framework, led by the Andhra delegation and advisors to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

During the summit, Chandrababu Naidu also outlined an ambitious “AI Doctor per Person” model policy. The concept envisions a dedicated AI-powered digital health assistant for every resident of the state. This system would monitor chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, provide medication reminders, flag abnormal parameters in real time, suggest preventive measures, assist doctors in diagnostics, and offer 24/7 digital health support in coordination with primary health centres and hospitals. The initiative aims to enhance healthcare access in remote areas, reduce the burden on government hospitals, and lower medical expenses for citizens requiring regular monitoring.

On the final day of the summit, the Andhra Pradesh government signed an MoU with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology to establish India’s first dedicated Quantum & AI University campus in Amaravati. The move signals the state’s long-term commitment to becoming a key player in emerging technologies.

While the summit had its share of controversy, Andhra Pradesh’s aggressive push in AI, data infrastructure, quantum research, and digital healthcare ensured it remained one of the most discussed contributors at the event.
