Irrespective of the Box Office figures of his films, Sharwanand has carved out a niche for himself. He is one talented yet handsome Telugu actor. After 10-years of long wait, finally his efforts are paid off. His latest offing Run Raja Run is consistently faring well at the ticket windows. Released with low expectations, the movie turned out to be a sleeper hit and one of the big hits of Sharwa’s career. Sharwa is upbeat about the latest success and says this is a landmark film in his career. “After waiting for 10 long years, I got a big hit in form of Run Raja Run. This film is very special in my career. From now onwards, I’ll continue to act in youthful entertainers rather than serious films,”shared elated Sharwanand.

Whereas Sharwa’s previous films that garnered hype bombed without a trace. Be it RGV’s Satya 2 or Ko Ante Koti, they fall into this category. Though a handful of his films received critical acclaim, they failed to rake in moolah. Thanks to newcomer Sujeeth, as he overturned Sharwa’s fortunes overnight.

There used to be a time, where small-ticket films/low-budget films which has no crowd-pulling star opt for irrelevant, eye-catchy titles to draw audiences. Gone are such days and even small-films are now mostly coming up with interesting-yet-meaningful titles that are apt for the films.

Contrary to this, few big budget, star hero films are now resorting to Masala titles to attract audience. The latest example is Surya’s Sikandar. Titled Anjaan in Tamil, the name of Telugu version has no match to the movie at all. There is no title justification in the film in one way or the other way round. One baffles till the end why it is called Sikandar. Except for verbal sounding, which is visible, there is no other reason to call the film so. Rather than coming up with spicy titles, the makers should focus on its content to the successful run of films.

In a startling revelation, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has made it public that she had a love failure. Spilling the beans, Sam said in an interview, “I had fallen in love with a guy few years ago. He was not a film actor and not from film industry too. He turned down my proposal.” Ask he whether she underwent depression post love failure. Box-office potential of Mass Raja Raviteja is obvious during holiday seasons, as people love to watch his mass-antics and energetic performances. Keeping that in view, Ravi aimed at Teachers Day holiday on September 5 to devise magic on silver screen with his ‘Power’. Brewing opposition is however not fine with this date.

Already Raviteja’s latest movie Power has amazed one and all with its pre-release business of around 30 crores. Distributors who have owned the movie are falling in love with this action-cop saga directed by debutant KS Ravindra (Bobby). Then what is the issue with release date for these distributors? Apparently many are complaining that if Power is scheduled for Sep 5, then it will be tough to fetch theatres. As Rabhasa is slated for August 29 release, maybe it is little harsh to weather out of the storm in a week’s gap.

Opposing the present confirmed date, they want Power to be released on Sep 15th. But with many other release like Aagadu, Govindudu Andarivadele lined up, ‘Power’ should make right move giving no room for mistake. Already makers have bent their mind to postpone flick to the date demanded by distributors. Wait for official confirmation.

Showing his patriotic colors, Stylish Star is always standing on the top during Republic and Independence days. Allu Arjun happens to be the only one from mega fraternity at the now, who wants to come up with social responsibility stuff on those days in the likes of Amir Khan and Surya. What about the other bunch then?

So the Tamil industry is not so interested in her terming her as jinxed lady. Samantha has only two chances – Anjaan and Kaththi to try and establish her foothold in Tamil. So she decided to take the Bikini route in Anjaan to attract the Tamil Thambis.

But Anjaan has got flop talk in Tamil and is heading towards a failure there shattering the big hopes of Samantha. We will have to see what the lady does in Kaththi which may be her last chance in the neighboring state.

Industry sources claims that director Sampath Nandi, took a big risk, by associating his name with non-starter “Gaalipatam” and it could affect his chances of directing superstar pawan kalyan in Gabbar Singh 2.

Prior to release of Gaali.., the director took full responsibility for the success and failure of the contrived plot and unneccesarily, took a big risk, at the time of directing a 60-crore film. He could have turned producer, once he got established himself as a leading director, but with one average grosser “Yemaiyindi Ee Vela” and hit film “Rachcha” and jumped into new zone.

Because, people close to Pawan, could advise him against Sampath and show the poor response for “Gaalipatam” since big stars are quite sensitive about such issues, because big money involved in their movies. Or will Pawan will just overrule all these and give his green signal to Sampath for “Gabbar”. Will it cost a him a project on not, we’ll know in few weeks.

Ajay Devgn-Kareena Kapoor starrer Singham Returns, released on the eve of Independence Day, is faring well at ticket windows despite getting mixed reviews. Taking on corrupt system, Ajay is back as an upright cop Bajirao Singham whereas Kareena Kapoor Khan revels up the glam quotient. Rohit Shetty’s trademark style action, although overdosed, clicked to an extent.

Going by BO reports, the movie raked in Rs 30 Crore on opening day given that I-Day is a holiday. Trade pundits expect there would be rise in Singham Returns collections over the weekend and upcoming Janmashtami holiday. If so, then it would eat into the collections of Salman Khan’s Kick and Akshay Kumar’s Entertainment which too received mixed reviews.

Geetanjali- Unmindful of mixed response and despite critics panned it as more of a comedy than horror flick, but Kona Venkat’s Geetanjali is doing well all over seemandhra and Nizam. Actress Anjali’s maiden female-oriented film has connected with viewer for his good humour and few tense moments. In the first week, the film has garnered more than 1.75 crores in Nizam and 1.5 cror in Seemandhra and 80 laksh in Ceded and its expected to do better in second week too.

Sikandar- Another new release is dubbed film “Sikandar’ but Sury’a charisma is unable to pull in crowds in both regions and couldn’t garner even minimum openings, despite Surya’s earlier hits. The don story just managed to draw 1 crore plus on first day and sources claims that it will have been a winner, due to predictable plot and turning into risky proposition.

“Gaalipatam”, Despite producer Sampathi nandi pumping in big money to promote his new-age film but audience haven’t really taken it seriously and the bold theme is affected with unconvincing logic and it just managed to draw 50 to 60 laksh in the first week and it could be a losing proposition for producer and buyers.

“Lovrers”, Despite producer Maruthi’s brand name, the film didn’t get big openings, so it will take time to judge its performance at the box offiice and unfortunately for Sumanth Ashwin, after a hit film “Anthakamundu…’, he should be hoping to score a hit, but it hasn’t started well.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan is considered to be an insignia of social responsibility by some of the mega fans. Having watched the short film, ‘I Am That Change’ of Stylish Star allu arjun, everybody started appreciating allu arjun for his social responsibility. The short film offered a wonderful message and reminds us our responsibilities. This short film is not only a sweet shock to the mega fans, but also a big shock to Pawan Kalyan, as per some analysts. If allu arjun continues the same spirit in the future as well, no wonder he would turn out to be the new synonym for the social responsibility.

allu arjun has recently completed his portion of the move ‘Rudhramadevi’. He essayed the role of the warrior ‘Gona Gannareddy’ in the film. Gunasekhar has directed and produced the move on Guna Team Works.

Despite a mixed response for ‘Lovers’, its comedian Sapthagiri who steals the show with his hilarious punchlines and performance and even attract more attention than actor Sumanth Ashwin.

‘Sapthagiri surely stole the show’ says a viewers. It looks like, Sapthagiri’s stocks are going by the day and after his comedy in hits like ‘Prema katha chitram’ and ‘Venkatadri Express’ and he could soon join the big league of comedians in T-town like Brahmi, Ali, Venu and others.

Although, directors Maruthi and Gandhi have used him, but now big directors should consider him, since he is a bundle of talent.

After waiting for couple of months to see the screenplay-magic of this mass-masala entertainer, star hero Surya’s fans are literally disappointed today. Nothing but many boring moments became integral part of director Linguswamy’s Anjaan/Sikander, making fans leave theaters in a dismal mood.

Breath taking action sequences, thrilling fights, engaging romantic scenes and cute satirical entertainment are always weapons of director Linguswamy. From Run to Aavara, Pandemkodi to Tadakha, he repeated this magic. But none knows what happened to him with Anjaan, as he lost focus on the strengths. In fact there is no pulsating action sequence in this big budget entertainer.

Also there are no adrenaline rushing moments, except that interval block, which happens to be a tried and tested formula in Indian cinemas from years. Being a director known for his terrific screenplays, why did Linguswamy missed the mark?
