Raviteja’s Power caught the attention of film buffs and market circles with powerful promos. Energetic audio album scored by Thaman has also clicked with the masses. This film has done good business all over, as expected. As per trade, Power has done around 23 crores business including overseas rights and other states.

This is a good pre release business for a regular Raviteja movie. But Power’s budget is somewhere around 40 crore says the buzz. Producer Rockline Venkatesh who is making debut in Tollywood with this movie has spent lavishly on this action entertainer. In spite of being aware of Raviteja’s market, the producer spent so much on Power.

This film is releasing with a heavy deficit and it will have to do very well to recover the investment. Raviteja is yet to enter the thirty crore club. Power should collect close to forty crore to be a safe venture for everyone involved. That is not going to be easy with Rabhasa and Aagadu around.

King Khan Shahrukh took four years to break the records set by 3 Idiots. But the happiness of Baadshah fans didn’t last long as Aamir Khan reoccupied the top chair with Dhoom 3. Recently released Kick also surpassed Chennai Express records to push SRK to third place. Now it is Shahrukh’s turn to smash the records.

SRK is all set to blast the industry records with his upcoming Diwali release Happy New Year. Farah Khan who gave back to back blockbusters with SRK is the director of this film. SRK and Farah have done Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om in the past. The buzz around this film is huge and it has only got bigger with the first look posters and trailer release.

Producer-young entrepreneur Lagadapati Sridhar’s name ring a bell instantly in T’wood. Despite having strong indstrial and political background, Sridhar forayed into films out of passion by founding Larsco Entertainment. Kick started his filmy journey a decade ago with Evadi Gola Vadide under his home banner Ramalakshmi Cine Creations, Mr Sridhar and his better half Mrs Sirisha have come a long way. In a chat-a-thon, Sridhar is all gung ho about his latest film Sikindar which he calls as a “landmark” film. Sridhar talks about Surya, Sikindar, his future plans, his star son Vikram Sahidev and a lot more.

Talking about Surya-starrer Sikindar, Sridhar says, “Sirisha and me have been waiting to produce a star-studded film and what will be the better occassion than the 10th anniversary of our home banner? Though our previous films have been successful and brought us glory, Sikindar takes us to the next level. Director Linguswamy has worked extensively for 2 years on the subject before taking off.”

Giving a sneak peek into film, Sridhar reveals, “Sikindar is an underworld revenge drama with good dose of romance, friendship and has enough twists to thrill audience. Surya essays a Mumbai gangster and the audiences are going to love him in his new style. Contrary to rumours, Surya is not playing dual role. His character has multiple shades.”

Sharing the highlights of the movie, he adds, “Like Basha to Rajnikanth, Naayakudu to Kamal Haasan, Sikindar will stand out in Surya’s career. Sikindar is a pan India film and has no regional barriers. Just like its ensemble cast, most of the film runs in various nooks and corners of the nation like Mumbai, pune. This is an apt release on the eve of Independe Day. Especially, Surya’s looks, acting in the film will arrest the attention of audiences.”

The movie is slated for massive release all over the world. Ask him about it. “We’ve made big plans for the release as it is releasing in over 1200 theatres across the globe. Besides Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, the movie is up for release in Karnataka, many parts of North India and of course, overseas. We’re hoping for huge openings. Surya is personally humble, non-controversial figure and has fans cutting across lines. Fans of all other heroes like Surya equally.”

Veering towards his future plans, the 40-odd-old says, “Presently, the shooting of my next Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini is going on. The movie stars Sudheer Babu and has Super Star Mahesh Babu in guest appearance. Meanwhile, plans are underway to make a film with Stylish Star Allu Arjun. Also, there are couple of plans to do my remakes into Tamil, Hindi. We’re contemplating to star Vijay Sethupathi and Raju Sundaram in the Tamil remake of Potugadu. All our next films will be made with the collaboration of Linguswamy. He is like our family member. If all goes well, I do have plans to go to Bollywood.”

On parting note, ask him about launching his son Vikram Sahidev as a hero given that he garnered accolades for his perfromance as teen Allu Arjun in blockbuster Race Gurram. Pat comes reply from Sridhar. “He is too young to be a hero and I want him to focus on his education at the moment. Let’s see what’s in store for him. I’ve no qualms at all if he wants to choose a career of his choice.”

It is reliably learnt that top producer Bellamkonda Suresh is pushing the market of jr NTR with ‘Rabhasa’ as he is quoting 11 crores of Nizam area, despite knowing that NTR movies haven’t done really well in this region, claims a distributor.

Nizam is considered the fort of Chiranjeevi family-Pawan, Charan but Mahesh superseded them in the region which comprises of borders with Karnataka and Maharashtra. Even though, NTR holds many records in Seemandhra and Ceded but just managed to touch 9 crore mark with Baadshah and his earlier hits like ‘Yamadonga’ and ‘Adhurs’ managed between 5 to 6 crores.

So, Suresh looks too ambitious by quoting a ‘fancy price’ by distributors of this 10- district region. If the deal goes through, NTR would be setting a new record in Nizam busines and join the ranks A-listers in this region. Lets wait and watch?

We all know that Charan and Sharwanand are good friends and the Nayak star is going to host a party for his buddy who discovered winning streak with “Run Raja Run”. Alludu Seenu fame Bellamkonda Srinivas is gearing up for his second movie that will be launched on 27th of this month. Boyapati Srinu is directing this mass entertainer that is going to be made on a high budget. Bellamkonda Suresh is ready to spend big bucks on this film despite losing few crores on Alludu Seenu due to high budget.

Bellamkonda Suresh roped in Number 1 heroine Samantha for Alludu Seenu and he is eyeing another top heroine Shruti Haasan for Srinivas’s second movie. Shruti Haasan didn’t sign this film yet. She is asking for 2 crores as remuneration which is almost double to what she gets for other movies.

Shruti Haasan is only doing films with big stars at the moment. She is not ready to do a film with relatively newcomer without putting a heavy price tag on. Bellamkonda Suresh is also contemplating other names, but going by his approach in setting a strong foundation for his son’s career, Shruti can expect to get what she was asking for.

Still if there are some doubts lingering in minds about possible strength of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s box office stamina, then the mega proof is here. Despite some brickbats about his plunging image due to political failure, Megastar proved that he could magic if he reappears on silver screen. For Nagarjuna’s quiz show ‘Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu’, Chiru has helped garner a record TRP of 12.34 when the average TRP for that show is 9.33 on an average earlier. If Nag’s 9.33 TRP itself is a record already, Chiru’s entry on final episode has brought an industry record like TRPs. This showcases how Chiru managed audiences to glue to TV sets with his robust presence on small screen.

Pawan Kalyan’s Gopala Gopala started making some news finally. All these days shooting and other work of the film are going on silently under the carpet. Neither Pawan nor Venky have spoke about the movie except revealing that they will make a nice flick to watch.

Lahari Music, the music selling company that is buying rights of many big-ticket flicks these days has grabbed Pawan and Venky’s multi-starrer too. Sources revealed that Lahari has shed a bomb to buy audio rights of Gopala Gopala. Music of this thought provoking flick is scored by talented Anup Rubens, whose fame has shot up twice post the success of Manam. Pawan factor, multi-star presence, Anup’s music and original version’s craze has let the audio company shed something close to a crore for the audio rights, say trade experts.

Earlier, 1-Nenokkadine was brought by Lahari Music for a whopping 72 lakhs after which they have grabbed Race Gurram too for 55 lakhs. Also Balakrishna’s Legend audio was released by the same company. Expect about Gopala Gopala audio date soon then!

Jyothika, wife of Tamil star Suriya, who is on a long hiatus, is all set to kick start her second innings. Jyothika will be playing the titular role in upcoming Tamil film which in turn is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster ‘How Old Are You’. Billed to be a lady-oriented movie, the original has actress Manju playing the lead and Jyothika is going to reprise in the Tamil version.

Roshan Andrews, who directed original film, is going to wield the megaphone for Tamil remake as well. The yet-to-be-titled film will go onto floors shortly. Jyothika who has been missing in action for seven-long years is returning to action. This is certainly a good news for all the fans of Chandramukhi star.

If the latest reports are anything to go by, Super Star Mahesh Babu is the highest paid actor in Telugu film industry. Mahesh is apparently charging a bomb for his up next film, to be produced by V. Anand Prasad of Bhavya Creations, which makes Mahesh the numer uno star with highest remuneration. Buzz is that Mahesh is getting a fat pay cheque of Rs 18 Crore for this untitled film.

Sources in the know say that already producer Anand Prasad has paid Rs 8 Crore in advance to the star to book his dates. The movie will go onto floors only after Mahesh wraps up his next commitment, directed by Koratala Siva. We hear that a star director is going to do this project and his name is presently kept under wraps.

Till far, Mahesh used to charge Rs 14 Crore on par with his peer Pawan Kalyan. Recently, Pawan too hiked his pay after Attarintiki Daaredi and allegedly charging Rs 15 Crore for just 22 days for his upcoming film Gopala Gopala. Looks like Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan are racing ahead towards remunerations of B-town stars.
