Megastar’s 150th Movie – A Fresh Take

Share

untitled

Epic films don’t materialize often, and films are declared epics only after their release. But there are few that are written as legendary even before they go into production. If it is not exaggeration, Megastar Chirajneevi’s 150th flick is similar kind. Huge hype has engulfed it already and everyone is waiting eagerly for August 22, for an exciting announcement.

Chiru has already announced that his 150th is going to kick start this year itself. Already director Vinayak too confirmed indirectly that the story-writing and script work of Mega milestone movie is going on under his supervision. Latest we hear is that ‘story’ of this much awaited movie is a simple and formulaic one. Though some mega writers cooked and etched historical dramas and social subjects, Vinayak felt that Chiru should first make his fans happy by feeding them with fantastic songs, adrenaline rushing fights and punch dialogues.

Convinced by Vinayak’s opinion, Megastar made his team take a fresh take on the script, and transcribe the director’s thoughts to make a simple mass-entertainer. We hear that this new script will be in the lines of a Tagore and Shankar Dada MBBS. That’s all for now.

Trade Report: New Releases lacks the Punch

galip

Latest releases Gaalipatam and Geetanjali were backed by very good promotions and expectedly they got decent openings at the box office. But both the films lacked the necessary punch to come out as winners. Last week’s release Run Raja Run is still on top with A centers audience preferring it over new films.

Run Raja Run makers are sure to make good profits of it. Alludu Seenu is still holding well in B and C centers despite new releases. Drushyam also registered good numbers over the weekend. None of these films can be termed as blockbuster but they are keeping the box office ticking and film business alive in dry period.

Sikinder and Lovers are the films that are slated for release on August 15. Sikinder looks promising enough to click with the masses. Run Raja Run could keep its theaters in A centers for another weekend as Gaalipatam and Geetanjali doesn’t have the fire power to contend with new releases.

Star Kid Entered The Big Arena

Share

untitled

Just for namesake she is a star-kid, but all that popularity she enjoys truly belongs to her hard work. If it is not seductress Shruti Haasan, there would be no one else in that position. This pretty lass has now entered the big arena in Tollywood, giving a run for competitors.

2014 is a luckiest year for legendary Kamal’s daughter, as her flicks Yevadu and Race Gurram tasted huge success. Her stints with mega camps became instant successes and the focus is on her next ventures now. Before pairing up with a Mahesh for a film, Shruti has first sizzled alongside him in an item number. And now it is also official that she is Superstar’s heroine in Koratala Siva movie. This movie is launched today and makers confirmed Shruti’s presence.

With this flick she will be completing a full circle, as she got paired with happening heroes Pawan, Charan and Bunny already, only Mahesh is left. Also with Samantha having no other big project in Telugu apart from next releases like Rabhasa and Sikander, it will be Shruti’s show from 2015. Even Ram Charan is considering of roping her for his next with Sreenu Vytla. That’s big news for this hot lady.

Mahesh Babu Is Absent For Third Time

Share

mahesh

Mahesh Babu, the reigning superstar of Tollywood is being noticed for following some unique patterns. This is not just about his movies, but the movie-functions he attends. Quite surprisingly, Mahesh is absent from his very own movie’s muhurat event for the third time.

Sukumar’s 1-Nenokkadine, Sreenu Vytla’s Aagadu and now Koratala Siva’s latest flick that features Mahesh in the lead have all one thing in common. Our hero hasn’t graced the opening ceremonies of these movies, whose muhurat events have taken place just a kilometer away from his official residence. Except for Aagadu opening, as Mahesh was shooting for Sukumar’s 1 in Belfast, UK, he is pretty much in town and available. Even for today’s Koratala movie launch, it is Mrs Mahesh who graced the event on his behalf. Is there any sentiment or strategy behind this?

Generally Mahesh attends all the press meets of his ‘baava’ Sudhir Babu’s flicks and recently he launched his step-brother Naresh’s son Naveen’s flick too. Then, why Mahesh is not attending his own muhurat events? A million – rupee question for now.

Power Leaves Rabhasa Alone!!

Share

untitled

A decade back, box-office used to witness clashes of 2-3 big heroes’ films on same day. Any festival day used to have releases of two big films in the least. Those days are gone know, as every hero is highly dependent on opening collections, hence they are choosing solo releases with no competition in the vicinity.

Rabhasa looked like a potential opening-records breaker when it is aimed at August 15th release as there is no big film locking horns with it. Post production delays have finally pushed this flick for August 29th, Vinayaka Chavithi eve, only to create more tensions as Raviteja’s Power is also set to hit theaters on same day.

Considering his relation with NTR, Ravi has anyway became Good Samaritan and decided to postpone his release date to September 5th. That leaves Rabhasa alone and finding as many theatres as possible will be easy now. Ravi expressed openly many times that he is fond of Jr NTR and that would explain everything.

Thaman Spoiled Mass Hero’s Crooning

Share

taman

In every album he scores, talented young composer Thaman definitely shows his signature in at least one song. Those songs stand the best and win brownie points for him. Sarostara in Businessman and Cinema Choopista Maava in Race Gurram are the best examples.

These days Thaman started introducing the heroes of his movies as lead vocalists too. He made Jr NTR croon for Rabhasa and Ravi Teja has done similar thing for Power. But problem is that, the Kick composer’s extra care about a voice using digital technology is literally killing the sweetness of a voice. For example in Power, the song Nautanki Nautanki is never sounding like a Ravi Teja’s as Thaman modified it to a robot like voice using his sound-mixing software.

Indeed, it spoiled the crooning efforts of Mass Raja, as none knows that it is their favorite hero’s voice until someone lets them know. Though Thaman proved the fact that anyone could sing, and their voice pitch and clarity could be modified with digital sound production equipment and setup, killing of a hero’s voice is highly unacceptable.

NTR Bid Adieu To Film Marketing

Share

untitled

Call it interaction with fans, or an actor’s interest to share the cute little things of his life with others, social networks are widely in use by our famous celebrities. On the flip side, these celebs use facebook and twitter accounts to promote their films at large, barring a few guys. On which side Jr NTR stands anyway?

After a brief three year sabbatical, NTR Jr is back on twitter, the first he revealed a month back was the news of the birth of his son. And the other day, NTR tweeted when his Baabai Balakrishna got hurt slightly in a bike-mishap. He went on saying that ‘lion’ will roar back soon in a high pitch. It could be noticed that Junior is not boasting about his latest movie Rabhasa, neither any other film-related stuff. Seems like he’s not interested in marketing stuff and wants to keep his twitter timeline cute and amazing.

For a star of NTR’s stature, absolutely marketing is not essential, but that may not work for other small-time actors. Also fans would feel happy only if Junior shares stuff related to cinema too, as primarily he is a cinema hero and fans do watch him mainly for cinemas only.

Kajal’s Color Sentiment On First Day

Share

untitled

Having some oddball sentiments is not a strange thing among filmdom people, but it surprises that a star heroine like Kajal Agarwal too believes in them. Also she has taken even Bollywood folks by a surprise by making them implement her sentiment there.

During the shooting of magnum opus Magadheera, Kajal has attended the first day shoot of the movie in a white salwar kameej. After knowing the result of the movie, she made sure that the first day of any movie’s shooting will see her draped in a white dress. In the past when she is in Mumbai for Singham shoot, the unit has to wait for half a day literally as Kajal refused to wear some other colour chudidhar than white.

Unit members have waited for hours with a baited breath to see Kajal come out of caravan in white dress and start the shooting. As the movie turned hit, maybe her color sentiment is being obliged by all. Sexy Kajal in white on day one means, it will be gold in pockets of producers at box office.

Is That Allu Sirish Or Sundeep?

Share

ravi

Intentions may not be wrong, but the ways particular uttering are conveyed are going to create storm in a tea cup. Mass Raja Raviteja’s warmth praises on dusky hottie Regina Cassandra are leading to similar discussions, like some storms.

‘Regina is the most talented actress and she essayed more popularity than her heroes for a couple of flicks’, said Ravi Teja during audio release of ‘Power’. So, reading between the lines we have to first ask what are those too films. Cine observers say that in both Routine Love Story and Kotha Janta, it is Regina who walked away with honors, while heroes Sundeep and Allu Sirish are clouded by her riveting performances.

Is Ravi Teja talking about those two films and those heroes literally? Or he is pointing at only hero who has done couple of movies with Regina and never amassed that stardom. While Ravi Teja’s comments are vague, there is absolute stuff for our young heroes to learn from them. Otherwise why would one say a heroine has dominated all the time?

Pic Talk: Regina’s Treat For Lensmen

Draped in a full sleeved white blouse and a weaved saree that leaves not a speck of space for any hot and sexy waist show, Tamil siren Regina Cassandra surely disappointed fans. But she knows where to reveal what and done that like a professional the other day.

In fact, the near-collared white blouse of Regina has a fully opening on the back, which couldn’t be guessed by ogling at her from the front. The blouse has plunging deep neckline that makes most of her sexy-back exposed to air. When lensmen asked this hot lady to pose for them at Power audio launch, she made sure that her football ground looking back gets a staggering attention. This appetizing hotness took internet by a storm and its going to be a fest for glamour lovers.

Pawan Factor Flunking Big Time

Share

untitled

If a hero or director uses the references of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan in just one scene, it looks exciting. But if they are going to serve the whole package with Pawan dosage, then the dish is going to end up distasteful. Do you accept with this?

Recent releases like Gaalipatam and Geethanjali have big time references to Pawan Kalyan. Makers of these flicks might have thought that Pawan’s factor will make masses run into theatres. But overdose of anything is detrimental, and that is proved by the result of these two at box office. Why did Pawan factor flunked big time this way? If a script is loaded with befitting content, then Pawan’s references will work like icing on the cake. And if the basement itself is weak, even the Janasena boss’ presence will not be a savior.

Also, using Pawan Kalyan’s name in a scene or two creates some fun and craziness, but using him throughout will surely invite the ire of Pawan’s fans itself. Already fans and audiences are unhappy that every director and hero is trying to sell their product with Pawan’s cutout somewhere or the other.

Jagan’s Heroine to do Cameo

Share

untitled

Actress Sanjjanaa has been missing in action for a while. Of late, she is going through rough phase in her career in T-town. The latest news about her is she managed to bag a cameo role in Ravi Babu’s thriller sequel Avunu 2. Starring Harshavardhan Rane and Poorna in the lead roles, the movie will go onto floors very soon. While Ravi Babu is repeating the total cast of the original, the only addition seems to be Sanjjanaa.

Now Sanjjanaa is pinning hopes on this film that this would bring back her to glory. Although she has acted in many Telugu films in the past, most of them have gone unnoticed including a movie Jagan (Jagan Nirdoshi). The only shot to fame for her is Puri Jagannadh’s Bujjigadu.

Koratala On Toes To Pen For Mahesh

Share

untitled

Believe it or not, punch-dialogues are essential ingredients for any commercial entertainer to click big time. But Mahesh Babu’s blitzkrieg on such dialogues in ‘Aaagadu’ left many one stunning. Though he took a satirical punch on punch dialogues, many writers feel that Mahesh got aversion towards such one-liners.

If at all Mahesh’s target is punch-dialogues, then what will Koratala Siva pen for their upcoming flick? Post Aagadu, Mahesh will team up with Koratala for a mass-masala entertainer that will on formulaic lines. Being a writer famous for his dialogues, he has to stand on toes know to write something that doesn’t hold rhyming and punches, but still stands out in the crowd. Our Mirchi director will be at cross-roads if he has to come up with such punch-less dialogues for Mahesh.

But if Aagadu one-liners are just part of the character being played by Mahesh, then Koratala will have plenty of space to play his game. Hope Aagadu dialogues are written only for Enoucnter Specialist Shankar, Mahesh’s role in the movie, but not according to Mahesh’s likes and dislikes on punch dialogues. Dot.

Drushyam is Papanasam in Tamil

Share

untitled

It is common knowledge by now that Superstar Kamal Haasan is doing the lead in Tamil remake of Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam. As per latest buzz, the movie has been christened as ‘Papanasam’.

After dubbed into Telugu and Kannada and scoring stupendous success, there are more expectations on Tamil remake. With Kamal Haasan roping in the original writer-director Jeethu Joseph, expectations have shot up. Notorious villain Kalabhavan Mani will play the role of bad constable Kalabhavan Shajon. Buzz is that Kamal play the role of Saiva Pillai, a family man. The makers are hunting for the lead actress opposite Kamal.

While Meena played the female lead in both Malayalam and Telugu, Kannada version Drishya has Navya Nair. Let’s wait and see whether Meena will be cast in Tamil or not.

Now Hansika Writes Open Note to Media

Share

untitled

Disturbed and miffed with rumours about “fake” manager, Hanika has resorted to write an open note to media to clarify few things. Setting the record straight she said that her mother Dr Mona is the only one who look after all her dates, projects. After earlier making an oral statement, she now written open note to media, film fraternity in Tamil Nadu.

Hansika wrote, “It had been brought to my attention by certain friends in the film industry that a particular person had been misusing my name. I believe he had been calling himself as my manager and subsequently discussing my projects as well as finance too. Through this mail I reassure that it is my mother Dr.Mona who helps and guides me in this process. Anybody deals with such fake people are doing at their own risk.”

We hear that a person based out at Chennai is posing as Hansika’s manager and raking in fortune as she is busy doing Telugu films and off to Tamil films for a while after parted ways with Simbhu. With this latest letter, Hansika is hoping that she would be out of such unwarranted issues.

Will other flop directors confess?

Share

images

Undoubtedly, director Krishna Vamsi stole a few hearts and won some sympathy of his fans and viewers with his ‘confession’ that his ego and uncompromising attitude pushed him into lean and load period and was is distress mood, but Charan gave him a golden opportunity. Taking a cue from Khadgam director, will other Tollywood directors who are going through flops like RGV, Teja, Gunasekar, YVS Choudury, Meher Ramesh, Neelakanta, Srinivasa Reddy, Parasuram, and endless list of directors would ‘openly’ admit that it was their ‘ego’ and ‘adamant attitude’ that led to flops and putting their careers in bad shape.

“Krishna Vamsi admission in public was a revelation and bound to garner sympathies, since he sounded like a normal human being who makes mistakes and then rectify it and also displayed a fighting spirit in a adverse situation” says another director. In this bad face, Krishna Vamsi lost respect among big stars as well from smaller stars and more importantly, even lost connect with viewers too. Its time for other directors to open and set right their careers.

Geethanjali takes the lead

Share

bramana

Among all the new releases this weekend Geethanjali has clearly taken a lead despite releasing a day late. The comedy aspect with presence of well known comedians has done the trick. It would have done even better had it released on time, feels the trade.

The response for the film has been mixed though with word of mouth mostly leaning on the positive side. Kona Venkat has presented the film along with being the writer for the film. Once again the writers proficiency is at work here as the film primarily relied on his brand of entertainment. Another big factor that worked to its advantage is Brahmanandam who has been used extensively in the promotion. The opening of Geethanjali once again shows how much entertainment matters to the public more than anything.

Rationale behind NTR’s clever pre-release move

Share

untitled

Junior NTR needs a superhit film to his credit at this junction of his career. His upcoming film ‘Rabhasa’ is gonna hit screens by the end of this month as per the latest buzz. And for top heroes in Tollywood, their fan base is their strength. Nandamuri heroes, Mega heroes, Ghattamaneni heroes, Daggupati heroes…everyone have their share in this. Fans decide the fate of their movies considerably. But when Pawan Kalyan floated a party and went against Chiranjeevi, the apparent rift amongst mega fans created a lot of anxiety.

On the same lines, there seemed to be an apparent rift amongst Nandamuri fans when Balayya Babu and Jr.NTR seemed to be moving away from each other for political reasons. That impact was felt during NTR’s previous film ‘Ramayya Vastavayya’s release. This time NTR’s latest move didn’t surprise many as they see this as NTR’s intelligent pre-release move. When Nandamuri fans were anxious on Balayya’s health after he injured his leg on Friday, NTR tweeted, ‘Wishing Babai a speedy recovery.my request to all the fans. dnt worry guys the LION is fine.he will be back ROARING’. People are counting on the rationale behind the tweet.

‘V V Vinayak Is My God Father’

Share

vvvinyak

Without godfathers, success seems to be a distant mountain for many aspiring people in film industry. That is why ‘Fish’ Venkat is quick to claim that director V V Vinayak is his God Father. Known for his comic-villainy as a key henchman of main-villain in many Telugu flicks, Venkat credited his success to the opportunities given by the Mega director.

Mangilipalli Venkat, a small-time background artist, has now become a busy character artist in Telugu movies. As there are too many people by the name Venkat in film industry, he named himself as ‘Fish’ Venkat. He hails from Hyderabad, and his presence in Jr NTR’s Aadi made him noticed by Telugu industry folks. ‘My Godfather VV Vinayak is responsible for my position today. His faith on my abilities as a comedian paid off, and today I’m hustling with shoots day and night. I’ve acted in close to 90 movies’, says an elated Venkat.

Ask him about future projects and you’ve a stunning reply for it. ‘A couple of films are going to start next week, where I’m the protagonist. From a side-kick to a lead hero, this life in film industry is awesome but never it is a cake walk’, he avers.

NTR unhappy with actress?

Share

ntr

It is reliably that reigning star NTR is reportedly unhappy with director Puri for roping in small-time actress Madhuriama opposite him in his upcoming big film.

Because Madhurima became a spent force in T-town and was not in the reckoning, but producer Ganesh assured that she would be okay, but NTR still not convinced with the casting.

Even earlier, NTR was unhappy with director Boyapati for roping in Kartika in “Dammu” opposite him and their onscreen chemistry was ‘tanda’, Now NTR may shows his uneasiness on the sets and it could affect the scenes between them.

Sometimes, stars do come up with reasonable doubts and have proved right, hope Puri will re-look at the casting of Madhurima…… since more 45 crores are at stake.
