Kollywood is cuckooing that Trisha has agreed to sizzle opposite Superstar Rajnikanth for an item song. She would be seen rocking to a peppy number in upcoming ‘Lingaa’ that is slated for a December release. Earlier Trisha was supposed to pair with Rajni on couple of occasions, but the actress missed the chances. At a time when her career is in slump, a song with Superstar could do some miracles if she catches of pulse of audiences with it.

Even though it is an item-number now, she doesn’t want to miss it. Nayantara sizzled with Rajni on couple of occasions in special songs, let us see if our Chennai hottie could also repeat similar magic.

Sultry siren Shruti Haasan seems to have an obsession for tattoos. She has done it again, and this is for the fifth time she got inked. The actress-singer has had a small tattoo – rose flower- on her left wrist but she decided to add some more design to it. After making it into large, she posted the pics on Instagram and wrote, “Tattoo !!!! New tattoo – new beginnings -brand new light.”

At at time people shudder at the idea of getting inked, Shruti is certainly inspiration. But the irony is that her latest tattoo got mixed reactions from her followers. While few appreciated Shruti’s tattoo, many have lamented it. As usual, Shruti doesn’t mind them and keeps moving on.

From quite a few months, a movie named ‘Superstar Kidnap’ is in the offing, and it is different because it deals with kidnap of Superstar Mahesh Babu. Trailer of this flick is released today, though it evinces no interest technically and screenplay wise, the very concept of kidnapping Mahesh is something new.

If we have to decipher the trailer, it is about jobless guys who want to settle down with riches in life. Finally they hatch a plan to kidnap none other than Superstar and earn money. This plot looks simple, but finding ways to abduct Mahesh for ransom is a real complex thing. Also we have to see if Mahesh will allow this story on silver screen, as Censor Board will surely ask the makers of flick to get a written permission from Mahesh to accept that. Let us see if Mahesh will be okay with this or not.

While all eyes are set on Chiranjeevi’s landmark 150th film, the makers are apparently stuck with the film’s lead lady. Going by sources, milky beauty Tamannah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty are contending for Chiru’s love interest in the film. While Tamannah already shook her legs with Chiranjeevi in a special number in Stalin, Tamannah has got special accolades from Chiru for her moves in Ram Charan’s Racha. During the audio launch event, Chiru expressed his wish to pair up with Tamannah. The makers are holding negotiations with both stars and it need to be seen who will pair with Chiru in the remarkable movie.

The yet-to-be-titled film will be formally launched on Chiru’s birthday August 22. Contrary to previous reports, the movie is not a message-oriented film but a commercial entertainer. Director VV Vinayak, who earlier made Tagore with Mega Star, is expected to wield the megaphone. Produced by Surekha Konidala, the film is buzzed to have a cameo of Ram Charan.

Mr Perfectionist SS Rajamouli has set new record with his forthcoming magnum opus Baahubali. The movie has successfully completed 200 days. Confused? Well, its not theatrical run but the film finished off 200 working days by Saturday. Working for 200 days is certainly a record in Indian Cinema, especially for a Telugu film the number is big. Imagine the production costs, various other expenses the film has gone through. Buzz is that the movie is being churned out with a whopping Rs 150 Crore.

Rajamouli posted on his social networking page, “Today is the 200th working day of Baahubali shoot. Shooting with Prabhas, Anushka, Tamannaah, Satya Raj garu and Adivi Sesh in Ramoji Film City.” With this Rajamouli once again proved that he spends a chunk of his time for film-making.

The star director is leaving no stone unturned to make this film a blockbuster. Already the film’s business has caught attention. Being made in two parts, Baahubali-I will hit the screens in April 2015.

Ace director Krishna Vamsi at the teaser launch of Govindu…mentions about his film with mega star Chiranjeevi few years ago, which didn’t materialise.

Industry sources claims it was a patriotic film ‘Vandemataram’ revolving around a fiery freedom fighter supposed to be played by Chiranjeevi and few years ago, the actor-director used to meet on the sets of ‘Anji’ to fine tune the script, but finally, Chiru kept the project in abeyance for various factors. ‘It would have been a international project but my non-compromising attitude and other reasons, it didn’t take off’ disclosed director with glint of disappointment, without taking the name of the film.

May be, Chiru was not willing to take a risk, since patriotic themes, haven’t been money-spinners. Later Venkatesh bit the dust with a patriotic film ‘subhash chandra bose’ and it looks like Chiru was right at that point of time? So Vamsi’s dream to work with Chiu remain unfilled but he could salvage it by directing his son Ram Charan in Govindudu.

Buxom beauty Anjali has taken everyone by surprise with the choice of her film. After playing girl-next-door role in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, doctor role in Balupu and a subtle role in Masala, Anjali has picked up a female-centric film Geethanjali that too a horror comedy.

Contrary to regular commercial, formula films, Anjali’s guts to take up this film is really laudable. Apart from humour, horror, Geethanjali does has a message and it takes a dig at crimes against women in society. During the horror part, Anjali has excelled in showcasing her emotions and seems to have given tough competition to Anushka Shetty who has done a handful of heroine-centric films like Arundhati, Panchakshari. With striking background score of Thaman, and KV Guhan’s rich visuals, encounter specialist Mahesh sets the bar high.

Huge success is not coming in Naga Chaitanya’s way whenever he is aiming at box office with masala movies. Most of his mass-entertainers ended up biting dust, so are his punch dialogues in those movies. Realizing this fact, he has now dropped them.

‘Manam’ left Chaitu in fantastic spirits as the film got rousing reception from Telugu audiences. But the same hit streak failed to continue for Auto Nagar Surya, as our Akkineni hero’s rugged look and powerful punch dialogues failed to create impact. Acting quickly on these findings, Chaitu has made sure that there are no punch dialogues in his upcoming movie ‘Oka Laila Kosam’. This flick is a romantic comedy directed by Vijay Kumar Konda who did similar magic with Nitin earlier.

‘Chaitu told me not to have any punch dialogues for him and we dropped such lines immediately. End result is awesome today, as some poetic one-liners mouthed by him simply make romance more beautiful’, said Vijay. Currently ‘Oka Laila Kosam’ is in its post-production phase, and will soon get a release date.

Call it an acting debut or a cameo, ace producer Dil Raju has finally experienced the ‘action and cut’ in front of the camera. He mesmerizes with his handsome presence on silver screen. Though limited to two dialogues and two minutes of footage, Raju’s debut is going to splash in colors.

In today’s release Geethanjali, Dil Raju played the role of himself; nevertheless it is just a single scene. Raju is there throughout the flick, as the whole comedy of the movie revolves around him. He is omnipresent in almost all the scenes as his very reference is bringing huge laughs for audiences. Inside the movie, hero happens to be an aspiring director who wanders around Dil Raju’s office to narrate a story to him. And it’s an easy guess how that fun would be.

Earlier rumors have erupted that Dil Raju is making his acting debut with his own upcoming movie, Sai Kiran Adivi’s Kerintha. But the purist producer rubbished them off. Anyway, Geethanjali marks his acting debut.

Doe-eyed beauty Tamannah Bhatia has got third big blow in B-town. Her latest film Entertainment, on which she had pinned high hopes, opened to extremely poor reviews just like her two previous debacles Himmatwala, Humshakals.

The Akshay Kumar-starrer has been dubbed as a film with slapstick comedy, low-brow humour by critics and it is compared to Sajid Khan’s Humshakals. With three back-to-back bad films under her belt, looks like, Tamannah is jinxed in B-town and her career in Hindi is not so charming.

The big question is will Tamanna able to bag plum offers in B-town? Will she able to bounce back with a bang? This needs to be seen.

Has Jr NTR patched up with his uncle-MLA Balakrishna? If not, is he wooing Balayya? This is the latest buzz doing rounds in film and political circles. NTR who rarely tweets, took to twitter soon after knowing that Balakrishna was injured on the sets of Godse. NTR posted, ‘Wishing Babayi a speedy recovery. my request to all the fans..dnt worry guys the LION is fine. he will be back ROARING’ (sic).

During the 2014 elections, speculations were rife that all was not well between Balakrishna and Jr NTR. Balayya even made a comment that ‘no one will be invited for political campaigning.’ This was directly hinted at Jr NTR and this has upset NTR’s fans to the hilt. NTR was also upset as Pawan had replaced him in the campaigning. NTR has been staying away from political activities for a while. Soon after Chandra Babu-led TDP won in 2014 elections, NTR congratulated him personally. This also set tongues wagging in TDP circles.

Meanwhile, Jr NTR is a happy man these days. After turning into father to a baby boy, NTR is said to be rejoicing the moments. It needs to be seen whether NTR is trying to become family man by shedding all the rifts within Nandamuri clan. Let’s see how Balayya reacts.

Down south, hero Saif Ali Khan is not as popular as his enchanting wife Kareena Kapoor. If not for ‘Love Aaj Kal’, Saif wouldn’t have got even that limited recognition. However the recent Court orders have bumped him into the spot light, and after seeing Kareena in Hyderabad for Singham Returns promotions we couldn’t get thoughts off Saif.

Recently a Mumbai court ordered to frame charges on Saif Ali Khan under section 325 IPC, in connection with a brawl at a five star hotel in 2012. A South African businessman of Indian origin accused that Saif thrashed him allegedly when the former asked him to not make heavy noise in the dining hall. This led to a speculation that Saif will be stripped of his Padma Sri award that is conferred in 2010. Anyway, Home Ministry sources have confirmed today that are no such plans.

‘Government has due discretion whether a Padma Award should be stripped of a person even if he is convicted. How a minor scuffle would be fair enough to strip an award that recognizes the outstanding achievements of him in the field of entertainment’, a Home Ministry source commented. Seems like Kareena Kapoor’s husband is safe with his award.

August month’s movie marathon will mesmerize Telugu audiences like never before. After the super successful start of the month with Run Raja Run, films like Maya, Gaalipatam and Nuvvila Nenala followed. Some made sense, some failed to leave impact. Kona Venkat’s Geethanjali that features Anjali and Srinivas Reddy in the leads is slated for today’s release. Buzz from last night’s premiere show is quite positive as the film got ample dose of comedy in trademark Kona style. Anjali’s performance as an entertaining ghost and Srinivas Reddy, Madhu, Rajesh and Jabardasth Shankar’s funny acts will enthrall movie lovers.

Declaring that Govindudu Andarivadele is all about rekindling those forgotten family values and traditions, director Krishna Vamsi sounded bold and confident the other day. What we call like a short-thunders before the actual storm, his revelations energized mega fans. Regardless of what he said, split opinions are being heard about the possibilities of Govindudu becoming a landmark movie as claimed by the film’s crew.

‘Govindudu is not about shattering records and chasing box office figures. The film stands epitome for the next 50 years in the journey of Telugu cinema. It is a classic in the making’, said Krishna Vamsi. Film critics however feel that making classics is impossible these days as audiences are forgetting even super hit films in no time. Magadheera, Attarintiki Daredi and recently Race Gurram have entertained and left, but none left significant mark on audiences, say critics. With KV not in form from a while and Charan charging up the brigade of family-drama for the first time, they say, the probability of hitting bull’s eye is exactly equal to its opposite.

By hook or crook, Krishna Vamsi is expected to deliver a hit this time despite of what the content is. With Charan in the lead, it is likely to turn a big hit because of this staggering stardom that could make even an average fare run like a watch-worthy treat. All these days KV missed the target due to wrong casting also and for Govindudu there is no such issue. Mega fans opined that there is blockbuster written all over for this colorful family .

With reigning star Nitin, jacking up his remuneration from 3.5 crore to 4.5 crore, after average grosser “Heart Attack”, two leading production houses PVP cinema and Bhagwan-Pulla Rao’s production have reportedly dropped their plans to make film with Ishq star. They believed that the 1 crore hike was unnessary since the market has expanded much after “heart attack” since the hike looked unreasonable. PVP were repotedly willing shell out upto 4 crores, but the actor wasn’t willing to reduce, so they are looking for an alternative hero.

Even Bhagwan and Pulla Rao team readied a script and hoping that Nitin would charge them old price of 3, but he shocked them with his revised pay cheque and the producers of Rebel are also moved out of his camp. Usually, stars hike their pay cheques after a blockbuster, but Nitin had other plans and lost two leading production houses. Only time will tell, whether the decision he made was right or wrong?

Compelled to retreat from the August 15 war, Young Tiger NTR’s Rabhasa will be taking on Raviteja’s Power on Vinayaka Chavithi. Both these mass-action flicks are heading to theatres for August 29 release. If we have to discuss about the advantages and disadvantages these movies are having, we have to say that odds are even.

Dammu and Ramayya Vastavayya tanked big time for NTR, though Baadshah cloaked him with satisfaction of delivering hit in the middle. We have to attribute the dismal performance of those two super flops to poor stories and uninteresting dialogues. To our surprise, even Rabhasa is looking like a similar cookie if we have to say anything by the trailer. That doesn’t mean NTR is ruled out as the youngster has earlier shown his potential with such regular movies.

Coming to Raviteja’s Power, we are habituated to watch Ravi Teja in such action roles very often. As it is coming from a debutant director now, chances are unlikely for experimentation and some routine stuff is expected. What matters is how powerfully, logically and innovatively his character and story are created, as routine plots are getting rejected by audiences these days.

Setting his sight on romance and passionate love making, Mega director Sampath Nandi has once again come up with a contemporary theme. Forget Racha and Gabbar Singh 2, both being star studded movies, and look at what is our director’s real love. Indeed, he has an intriguing towards these bold scenes.

Sampath’s debut movie Yemaindi Ee Vela was termed slightly erotic because of the bold romance between Varun Sandesh and Nisha Agarwal. A girl taking slight advantage on the sheets and the couple heading for a passionate sex was shot aesthetically for that flick. Even now, Gaalipatam looks pretty same when it comes to love-making scenes and lip kisses, making us feel the tinge of Sampath Nandi. Since he provided story and dialogues for the movie, should we say that he is smitten by sex scenes?

Despite Tollywood being a celebrated tinsel town after Hindi cinema, we have low levels of reception for steamy romance scenes in main-stream flicks. Slightest ever eroticism is considered an unorthodox thing here. We have to see how people like Sampath Nandi who wants to be bold with their content get a long run.
