According to information, the assailants came in a vehicle and opened fire at Jaganmohan who was sitting in a tea stall and taking tea near the bus stand. He died on the spot.

Sarpanch elections are suspected to be the reason for the murder. Jaganmohan’s wife Asrita is contesting as Sarpanch in Pedda Chintakunta under Dhanwada mandal.

The wives of the two brothers had reportedly filed nominations for gram panchayat elections. Wednesday was the last day to withdraw nominations. Jaganmohan’s wife refused to withdraw from the contest.

Addressing the press here, he said the Chief minister himself admitted the backwardness of Telangana by proposing Rs 1 lakh crore package for the region. The T region was lagging behind in all aspects including employment, education, irrigation and fund allocations for welfare and development programmes since the Telagnana was merged with Andhra in 1956. People were denied justice even after the successive governments brought several acts. The only option before the centre was to curve out the state respecting the sentiments of T people.

‘We will not accept any package except Telangana state existed before its merger,’Rao said alleged that the Congress leaders, ministers, MPs and MLAs of T betrayed people by supporting the Chief minister, who strongly advocated united Andhra.

He also took strong exception to the Chief minister’s remarks in the core committee meeting that naxalism will revive in Telangana once the state is bifurcated. The extremism had its roots first in Seemandhra region and not in Telangana. Most of the leaders in the naxal movement also hailed from non telangana region, The TRS leader said the naxalism was not a political problem but a socio- economical issue.

Referring to the Congress state in-chrage reported statement that it would take 215 days to complete the process for the formation of Telangana, Rao said, if the centre is sincere, it would take note more than one month to create the state.

Reiterating that T- state will be achieved through TRS only, Rao said the Congress resorted to back stabbing politics for political gains on the contentious issue.

Saran District Magistrate Abhijit Sinha said 10 children died after the mid-day meal at Dharamsati primary school in Masrakh in Saran, about 100 km from here. More than 60 children fell ill and were admitted to hospital for treatment, he added.

State Education Minister P.K. Shahi told media persons that preliminary investigation suggest that oil used to cook the meal was contaminated. “But everything will be clear only after the probe,” he said. Angry over the deaths, hundreds of people took to the streets in protest and surrounded the local police station demanding action against school teachers and officials responsible.

The oppposition Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded resignation of Nitish Kumar on moral grounds, while Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad blamed the deaths on rampant corruption in welfare schemes.

In Bihar, widespread corruption is reported in the mid-day meal scheme and government guidelines on food quality are ignored.

In past, dead lizards, frogs, insects and a rat were found in the food cooked for the mid-day meal, angering students and parents.

Interestingly, About 8,000 people signed up on Day 1 of the online registration. BJP is expecting nearly 1 lakh attendance in the stadium for the Modi’s meeting. The collected amount will be donated to Uttarakhand flood relief fund.

The two reportedly discussed the burning Telangana issue during their meeting for nearly 30 minutes. The meeting attained significance in view of the Congress Working Committee meeting on July 26 to take a final call on Telangana.
