Jaya Prada kicks Jagan to join Congress
It may be recalled that Jaya Prada expressed her intention to come back to the state politics and contest to the Parliament from Rajahmundry. It was thought that she would join the YSR Congress.
However, her mentor Amar Singh reportedly told her not to join a regional party and instead join a national party like BJP or Congress.
In the context of Jaya Prada meeting the Congress president Sonia Gandhi, it is being said that she is most likely to join the party. Undavalli Arun Kumar who has been representing Rajahmundry since two terms has on Saturday said that he was ready to forsake his seat in favour of any candidate chosen by the Congress High Command. With this statement of Undavalli, it is being felt that decks were now cleared for Jaya Prada to join the Congress.
This development is seen as a shock to the YSR Congress. It is learnt that when Jaya Prada approached the party, she was told that she could join without setting any pre-conditions. As she wanted Rajahmundry seat, she has decided not to join the party, said sources.
It is being said that Amar Singh played a major role in getting Congress High Command’s support to Jaya Prada. Amar Singh has goodwill with the Congress leadership as he played a key role in saving the government when it faced a no-confidence motion in the Parliament. It is being said that the Congress High Command had decided to sent Undavalli to Rajya Sabha, so that his seat could be given to Jaya Prada.
Arun Kumar also said his future was in the hands of the Congress High Command and it was upto the leadership to either send him to the Rajya Sabha or make him contest to the Lok Sabha. Amar Singh also said on Friday that Jaya Prada would join a national party. Bservers say that it is almost certain that Jaya Prada would join the Congress.

Hari Krishna and his sons were not attending Naidu’s ‘Vastunna Meekosam’ .
When a Pylon to mark his historic yatra was unveiled at Visakhapatnam, TDP supporters were stunned to see no one other than Balayya was present from the Nandamuri family.
TDP chartered a Jet Airways aircraft to carry TDP leaders to Vizag from Hyderabad. A large number of fans of Jr. NTR gathered at the airport expecting him, Kalyana Ram and Hari Krishna. They were disappointed at their absence. It is learnt that Hari Krishna excused himself citing ill-health. Jr. NTR was hurt that he was not invited, say sources. The two prevailed upon Kalyan Ram not to go, said sources.
It is learnt that Nandamuri Hari Krishna reportedly became angry that there was no photo of his or his son Jr. NTR at the TDP public meeting venue, where the party chief Chandra Babu Naidu would formally windup his marathon walkathon.
Hari Krishna was hurt that Nara Lokesh’s pictures were extensively used in the banners and cutouts set up all over the Visakhapatnam city on the occasion of the public meeting.
Till Friday evening, party senior leaders tried to make Hari Krishna to join the meeting. However, it is now learnt that he had decided that not to go there as he was very much hurt at the publicity being given to Nara Lokesh. It is learnt that Hari Krishna told TDP leaders that his health would not permit him to travel to Vizag. Jr. NTR has already decided not to attend the meeting as he was not even respectfully invited for the meeting, say sources.
Hari Krishna’s another son Kalyan Ram who earlier expressed his support to Chandrababu, has also decided to abstain from the meeting because of the insistence of his father, reports say.
Hero Bala Krishna and Taraka Ratna had already reached Visakhapatnam. If Kalyan Ram had felt like attending the meeting, he would have also arrived here already, point out sources in the party. It appears that the tiff in the Nandamuri family over power had intensified, with the growing importance of Lokesh in the party.

However, the government of AP released the G.O. permitting to hike ticket prices in theaters. A total of 20% hike including all theaters of AP is expected. Obviously, 20% chances of beating ‘magadheera’ collections in AP has been increased than the present situation.
If ‘magadheera’ collected Rs.65 crores in AP alone, ‘Gabbar Singh’ stands next with Rs.52+ crores, ‘Naayak’ with Rs.42+ crores, ‘Dookudu’ with Rs.40+ crores and ‘Rachcha’ with Rs.39+ crores stood at subsequent places in AP alone. We have to wait and watch how well the upcoming films of tollywood try to cross ‘magadheera’ records.
Mahesh interest towards Bolywood
Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, who has one of the best farmhouse properties a couple of hours drive from Mumbai tried to convince mahesh babu to buy a nearby row house that would serve as his weekend getaway. It may be mentioned here that Sabita Indra Reddy had submitted her resignation to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy after her name was included in the list of the accused in the charge-sheet filed by the CBI in the court in YSR Congress party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s Illgotten Assets Case. As she was away from her official duties since April 8, filed were piling up in her Home department ever since. However, she relented and resumed duties at the instance of the Chief Minister.
Apart from Opposition parties demanding her resignation for her role in Jagan’s illegal assets case, a section of ruling party leaders also strongly felt that the Home Minister should resign from the Cabinet. While there were rumors that the portfolio of Sabita Indra Reddy may be changed, the Chief Minister opposed the idea. The party high command also came to a decision to allow Sabita Indra Reddy to continue in the cabinet. It is learnt that the Congress High Command had decided to take suitable action against the tainted ministers after the CBI filed all charge-sheets in the Jagan’s case.
In the Jagan’s case, the CBI named Roads & Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao as an accused in the VANPIC case. While three ministers in Kiran Kumar Reddy Cabinet were impleaded in the Jagan’s case, Mopidevi Venkatarama had resigned and his papers were accepted by the Governor, the Chief Minister declined to accept resignation of Dharmana Prasada Rao. He also reportedly decided not to accept the resignation of Sabita Indra Reddy.
