Secret of Hansika avoiding Santhanam!
Kollywood comedian Santhanam is now creating laughter ripples in the industry. Film makers came to the conclusion that any comedy track should invariably include Santhanam. However hot beauty Hansika, the Goddess of Tamil Tambis started avoiding Santhanam.
Revealing the secret she says Santhanam creates so much laughter riot in sets mocking all that it will be difficult for anyone to control self. She says he is in full flow in the sets of Theeya Vellai Seyanum Kumara directed by Sunder.C and having Siddharth in lead. Film releases as Something Something in telugu and Hansika says she started avoiding Santhanam as its becoming too much for her to control herself.
No one can dare to remake ‘Mother India’
Remaking Mehboob Khan’s Oscar-nominated “Mother India” is an unachievable feat, says Vidya Balan and if someone dared attempt this, she wouldn’t be a part of this. As a tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema, Vidya has donned Nargis’ look from the 1957 cult film “Mother India” and Meena Kumari’s from the 1962-classic “Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam” for Cineblitz’s special edition.
But the actress, who entered filmdom with the “Parineeta” remake, has no intention of working in a “Mother India” remake. “I don’t think anybody would even dare to remake ‘Mother India’ and if someone does then I will salute him, but I will not do it. It is unachievable, really,” Vidya 35, told reporters at the unveiling of the cover page of the magazine. “Mother India” is known for Nargis Dutt’s power-packed performance as a righteous mother, who shoots down her son, played by Sunil Dutt, whom she married after the movie, for being on the wrong side of the law.
One of the most expensive project of its time, the film is said to be a remake of Khan’s 1940 movie “Aurat” and it was India’s first submission for the Oscras for the Best Foreign Language Film in 1958.
Talking about dressing up as Nargis in the same look, Vidya said: “It’s an honour for me to have recreated those two images. One is the image of Nargis from ‘Mother India’ and when you think of those iconic images from the Indian cinema over time, it definitely features in the top 3. “The other image we recreated was ‘Sahib, Bibi Aur Ghulam’ and I remember seeing that picture when I was in school and finding it extremely intoxicating,” added Vidya talking about Meena Kumari’s drunk look from the film.
Vidya is currently shooting for “Shaadi Ke Side Effects” with Farhan Akhtar while the first look of her upcoming film “Ghanchakkar” with Emraan Hashmi has already released.
Mega star turned as a ‘Daga Star’
Refuting Union Tourism Minister Dr K Chiranjeevi’s remarks against the TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu, party leaders Bojjala Gopala Krishna Reddy, CM Ramesh and Kalva Srinivasulu have said the former has no right to criticize Chandrababu.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, the TDP leaders alleged that the Congress party, which was scared of TDP’s BC Declaration, was encouraging Chiranjeevi to take on Chandrababu Naidu. They said Chiranjeevi, who had said once that “Panchalu would be pulled” was now hiding behind the same Panchalu.
Alleging that Chiranjeevi’s PRP was an utter failure, the TDP leaders said that Chiranjeevi, who chanted ‘change…change’ before the 2009 elections, shifted his loyalties to the Congress party. CM Ramesh said Chiranjeevi never responded on public issues in the Rajya Sabha. He said Chandrababu was walking for thousands of kilometers for the sake of people, but Chiranjeevi merged his party into Congress party for power and pelf.
Kalva Srinivasulu said Chiranjeevi was a Megastar in cinemas, but now he has turned as a ‘Daga Star’ in politics. Bojjala said there was no need for the TDP to take advices from Chiranjeevi.
Harikrishna talk on flexi war
Indications are clear that all is not will with Nandamuri family. Pitching in to the flexi struggle, Nandamuri Harikrishna said NTR is a popular personality and anyone can use his picture. The reaction comes close on the heels of his younger brother Balakrishna questioning the use of the picture of NTR in flexi banners at YSRCP meetings.
Harikrishna, father of Junior NTR, said we cannot take objection to some fan putting up NTR’s picture on a flexi banner. He also had a dig at his brother for his remark that there will be dire consequences on jr ntr for allowing his picture on the flexi banners. “We should also work towards saving the party instead of concentrating on other things,” he said adding that we should go to people who will give the final verdict.
NTR pictures being used has come in for serious debate among political circles.While TDP blamed YSRCP for trying to hijack NTR image, YSRCP washed its hands off saying that it has nothing to do with the banners.
Party senior leader K Ramakrishnudu said, “We are in no way concerned with the issue. But I should remind N Balakrishna that even Purandeswari used NTR’s picture during her canvassing on behalf of the Congress party.” Reacting to the statement sharply, Purandeswari said, NTR is a public figure and he is my father. I am proud of being his daughter and I have every right to use his picture and I believe in his ideals as well.”
Now Harikrishna also replying almost in the same tone, it remains to be seen what is in store.
NRI lodged in Tihar Jail
The wanted fugitive NRI criminal Nerusu Lakshminivasa Rao, a native of Krishna district, was taken to New Delhi on April 5 by the State CID police. The wanted NRI criminal had allegedly killed his wife, son and daughter in Novi, Michigan USA on October 13, 2008. An arrest warrant and a Red Corner Notice were issued by the Interpol.
On Saturday, as per the orders and PT warrant issued by the Extradition Court, New Delhi, the fugitive NRI criminal was produced before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Patiala House, New Delhi. The court supplied relevant documents to the accused and he was remanded to Judicial Custody till April 18 and later he was lodged in Tihar Jail.
In the coming days, the Extradition Court will decide Extradition of the NRI accused to USA where the accused will be prosecuted for Triple Murder at the District Court, County of Oakland, State of Michigan, USA, the Additional Director General of Police, CID, Hyderabad has stated.
