Puri scared of sequels

Share
When someone fail to keep up their words and promises, people stop believing them and sometime even go to the extent of viewing them with suspicion. The same thing happening in case of tollywood hit director Puri Jagannath who failed to keep his promises he made to movie lovers. He at the starting of the year announced with much fan fare that he would make sequel for ‘Idiot’ and ‘Business Man’. ‘Idiot’ gave Mass Raja Ravi Teja, a stunning hit in his career and none can forget the song ‘Chupulto Guchchi Guchchi Champake’. ‘Business Man’ continued the success streak of Prince Mahesh Babu and once again stamped the stardom of Mahesh on tollywood industry. So when Puri announced sequels for both these high profile films, expectations of fans rose even before the start of the films.
However recently Puri exploded a bomb that he won’t be doing sequel for ‘Idiot’ and he after discussing with Ravi Teja felt that the character of Chanti was not suitable for sequel. He said both then proceeded to do ‘Devudu Chesina Manushulu’ along with Ileana. Now couple of days back Puri lit a dynamite saying he is not doing sequel even for ‘Business Man’. He said he will be preparing an entirely new script which suits Prince Mahesh Babu. Many started wondering what could be the reasons behind Puri cancelling not one but both the sequels of two block busters which he earlier directed. Some feel that Puri is scared of sequels as people and movie lovers start comparing the new film with that of the earlier one making it difficult for the new film to reach the high expectations of viewers.

KVP going Viveka’s way ?

Share
General public and politicians along with people in political circles can never separate KVP.Ramachandra Rao and YSR. Both are so united and used to work hand in hand that they knew inside out of each other. So it was a kind of huge surprise and shock when KVP decided to desert Jagan when he came out of Congress and floated a party of his own. This showed how power hungry people are and many felt even YSR brother YS.Vivekananda Reddy decided to be in Congress only to enjoy the fruits of power.
Everyone was shocked when KVP suddenly realised the treatment meted out to YSR by Congress party and the Govt doing away with the schemes and even the photos. He vented his anger and spoke furiously. Many started wondering whether he is going YS.Vivekananda Reddy way who till he enjoyed power, praised Congress, lashed out at Jagan for being unkind to the party which gave so much for his father and for his family. The moment he lost elections contesting against YSR’s widow Vijayamma, his reputation in the party diluted and suddenly he started criticising Congress for insulting YSR.
KVP till now maintained stoic silence and never spoke a word for all these years on insults by Congress party on his soul YSR and if suddenly he starts making noices no one will believe him. He should see the experiences of YS.Viveka when he tried to make peace with Jagan, he was not given the desired importance. KVP better realise this before treading Viveka’s path.

BJP-MIM playing with innocent Lives

Share
When parties start playing with religious sentiments and beliefs of people, tensions are bound to increase and that is what BJP and MIM always does in Andhra Pradesh state capital Hyderabad. Here we are not going to discuss about who is right and who is wrong but parities should realise it is wrong to play with the religious beliefs and sentiments for petty political gains especially in Old City. The place which is a high tension wire of Hyderabad resumed some calmness once TDP under NTR’s leadership came to power. Earlier it used to witness communal riots when ever Congress wants change of CM post. Normalcy was restored under TDP rule for sometime since both BJP and MIM sided with TDP. Many say there are two sides in a coin. Both BJP and MIM are one side of the coin and they don’t want to look at the other side.
One fail to understand when there are so many issues why these two parties play with religion. Govt can take steps and if it bans religious processions on various festivals things would come under control. Even people should realise that prayers can be offered individually to Almighty rather than in full public gaze mobilising huge gatherings. Both the parties are more concerned about their political ends than the problems of people. That was the only reason why MIM is dead against formation of ‘Telangana’ which it fears would strengthen its opponent BJP denting its prospects. Muslims should think why Old City still is under developed compared to other parts of the city though MIM has been ruling it for years. They should ask why conditions of muslims never improved under MIM’s rule. BJP on the other hand suddenly showering love towards people of ‘Telangana’ to make inroads in both the regions. It wants people not to question the party why it forgot the ‘T’ cause which it rose 10years back in its manifesto. People should see through the cunning political games of both the parties and teach them a fitting lesson.

Journalists battle in Telugu Film Industry

Share
When film makers are smitten by one subject they just can’t come out of it. It seems they are currently smitten by spy cams and unearthing black secrets that are going on for the benefit of the society. Three journalists are coming out soon from tollywood to give special treat to fans and movie lovers on silver screen. While Natasimha Balakrishna is turning journalist in ‘Simannarayana’ under Ravi Chavali direction, Power Star Pawan Kalyan is turning powerful journalist in his upcoming entertainer ‘Cameraman Gangato Rambabu’ under Puri Jagannath direction.
Balakrishna gave first hand treat of what one can expect from him when he for one scene in ‘Adhinayakudu’ came as a journalist from MDTV and then killing Central Minister’s son. Balayya is also romancing hot beauties Isha Chawla and Parvata Melton giving mass treats to his fans. Pawan Kalyan after ‘Gabbar Singh’ is coming with different mass entertainer romancing goan beauty Ileana in ‘Cameraman Gangato Rambabu’.
In the midst of these two powerful heroes, a beautiful girl is competing with them turning powerful journalist to unearth secret happenings in the society. She is none other than malayalee beauty Nayanatara who is going great guns after her sensational performance as ‘Sita’ in ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’. She is playing the role of journalist in Rana’s ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ under Krish’s direction. Movie lovers are waiting with bated breath as to who will emerge winners in battle of journalists.

‘Prince’ Mahesh following ‘King’ Nagarjuna !?

Share
Prince Mahesh Babu is now branded as the superstar of Tollywood and whether one likes it or not he is credited with bringing world wide recognition for telugu film industry with ‘Dookudu’. The back to back successes of ‘Dookudu’ and ‘Business Man’ made him the youth icon and even corporates made beeline after him to endorse their brands. He made his debut at a tender age of 4yrs in a film titled ‘Needa’ starring his father Krishna who used to be the ‘Super Star’. Krishna was reputed for being a trend setter making daring and dynamic films.Starring along with him gave the requisite experience to Mahesh as a child artist which helped him in moulding his career as a hero.
Mahesh in many interviews expressed his desire to make his son a hero. It may still be a long time to do but Prince wants to see his little prince toddle in his upcoming multi starrer ‘Seetamma Vakitlo Srimalle Chettu’ along with Venkatesh. The film is directed by Srikanth Addala and features Samantha and Anjali. If one goes by the film makers who released one trailer on Super Star Krishna’s Birthday and now another planning to unveil it on Mahesh’s birthday, Mahesh’s son Gautam Krishna’s debut can not be ruled out.
Just like King Nagarjuna made his son Akhil make his debut in ‘Sisindri’ a remake of hollywood hit ‘Baby’s Day Out’, Prince Mahesh seems to be following his dad and Super Star Krishna and more importantly King Nagarjuna.

AP MPs turn blind

Share
Common man elect their representatives to that they will solve their problems and develop the places. MPs and MLAs across other states atleast try to get some funds from central government and they are more than successful exerting pressure unitedly forgetting regional differences with other rival parties. But this was not the case with MPs representing Andhra Pradesh. Though the state has 42 MPs and play important role in the formation of govt at center, Central Govt shows step motherly treatment diverting funds to some other states and some other policies. The Govt’s discrimination is clear in using its resources for satisfying the wants of their allies at other states or satisfying their greed.
Though people rewarded the ruling congress with 33 MP seats, they did not get single portfolio or ministry of importance or even if they do get ministries , they don’t have guts to do some thing for the people of their constituencies. They are content with seeking personal gains and monetary benefits and once they are satisfies they are not bothered responsibilities they have towards people they represent. This was the reason why gas resources from KG basin was shifted to Ratnagiri Power plant in Maharashtra and mines and other natural resources diverted depriving people and State of its wealth.
Same was the case with Railways doing nothing for Southern railways while enjoying massive profits provided by the passengers and freight carriage. MPs are so thick skinned that they don’t want to learn from their Tamil Nadu counter parts who threaten violent agitations when it comes to interests of the state and change even foreign policies.

Did Megastar desert his Brothers ?

Share
Media and people’s focus will be always on star celebrities and when enjoys the super stardom of Megastar Chiranjeevi then the attention is inevitable. Right from his superhit ‘Khaidi’ which made him Tollywood’s action hero and angry young man, his fan base multiplied and media started following his every move very closely and even started analysing each and every step. Over the last five years Chiru has been accused of giving a raw deal to his brothers Nagababu and Pawan Kalyan. Many stories emanated about his not so amicable relationships with Power Star Pawan Kalyan and to a lesser extent Naga Babu.
Some say Chiru did not try to bring up his brothers even when he was ruling the Industry. Many feel that he did not try to help his brother Nagababu who tried his best to shine as a hero. Chiru did not even fulfill Nagababu’s dream of watching his son Varun Tej making his tollywood debut while he started taking keen interest on his son Ram Charan Teja’s every move. Much has been written about Chiranjeevi’s rivalry with Pawan Kalyan. When he did not turn up for Panjaa audio launch it became the hot topic of discussion and Chiru’s silence did not make things any better. It was written that Pawan didnot approve Chiru merging his PRP with Congress. Some even said that Chiru did not help Pawan when his film ‘naraju’ bombed miserably at box office.
However what one doesn’t know is Chiru gave many chances, offers and he himself gave bulk dates to his brother Naga Babu to utlilise it to perfection. However Nagababu failed to use it and now Chiru is helping him in Varun Tej’s debut. As for Pawan Kalyan, also Chiru’s close aides reveal that everything is fine between them.

Should dubbing films be Banned ?

Share

Some time back Tollywood film makers were up in their arms asking for ban on dubbing films. This was because with the exception of last year, the film industy has witnessed numerous dubbing films performing well at the box office and minting money more than that of straight films of top films. This dubbing attack was so awesome and fearful that even top heroes delayed release of their films when films like Sharukh Khan’s ‘Ra.One’ or Rajanikanth’s ‘Robot’ were released,. tollywood film makers ran away scared, stopping their release.
Deprived of their share of profits, film makers raised their voice against dubbing films. However they were met with severe opposition from dubbing film makers as any ban on these films will strike at the roots of their livelihood. One wonder why film makers started clamoring for ban on dubbing films. Some say as our film makers are coming with routine mass masala entertainers and dubbing films come with novel and creative ideas they are unable to compete with them.
Tollywood movie lovers who are getting bored with monotonous entertainers started craving for something new which dubbing films in form of ‘Gajini’, ‘Aparaichitudu’, ‘Robot’, ‘Rangam’, ‘Journey’ and many others offered. Movie lovers say they appreciate any film which has good stuff irrespective of language and instead of working on their creative intelligence and come up with some novel story lines, demanding ban on dubbing films will not bring in profits for tollywood film makers.

Free Power to Farm a farce

Share

Free Power scheme implemented by AP once attracted the attention of entire country and even some other states got inspired by the scheme and started implementing it. However after some time the then AP CM realized the ineffectiveness of the program and planned to make a policy change over. He issued a statement that due to power cuts free power scheme is a farce and electric wires can be used for hanging clothes.
However his words are misunderstood and he subsequently lost elections, with rival parties campaigning against him saying Babu was acting at the behest of World Bank. The successive governments continued this populist free power scheme to farmers. However with free power and power cuts going hand in hand, the scheme itself started losing its significance.
Had free power to farmers served its purpose there wouldn’t have been so many suicides and so many farmers wouldn’t have lost their lives. When farmers need free power there won’t be any power due to power cuts and at midnight or during nights free power supply will be there. One wonder the callacious attitude of authorities and whether they are using their common sense to the fore. Otherwise how could they imagine farmers can farm their land in nights using free power.
In the midst of all this Power Supply authorities slap lakhs and lakhs of bills even for free power supply making mockery of farmers and common public taking them for a ride.

Mentality of Movie Lovers needs a Change ?

Share

Mentality of movie lovers is hard to dissect. Many give lectures about the falling standards of tollywood film making and the films that are coming and rave about the creativity of other regions. They cite out the creativity of directors like Shankar, Murugadoss or music directors Ilayaraja, Rahman and Harris Jeyaraj or actors like Dhanush, Surya, Vikram’s penchant for performing unique roles. However when a good film comes in tollywood like Sri Rama Rajyam or message oriented flick ‘Onamalu’ one bother to watch them. Most of them wait for the word of mouth and make list of movies and wait patiently when small screen screen them during festivals or on special occasions, which was not the case in other languages.
When films like Sri Rama Rajyam fail to get awards at film festivals, they find fault with organizers little realizing the fact that organizers and jury awarded Sri Rama Rajyam the best film award in all its functions and it was movie lovers who voted for ‘Dookudu’. So basically movie lovers should realize that fault lies with them rather than with the organizers of the award functions or film makers. Many were surprised to find empty theaters greeting Sri Rama Rajyam shows even when the film makers announced various sops for school students. The same was the case with Onamalu. Unless until movie lovers encourage these kind of films, film makers keep making films keeping in view of B-C class centers where masses watch films repeatedly for their respective heroes.

Babu taking BCs for a ride?

Share

Chandra Babu Naidu , the TDP chief is trying all tricks up in his sleeve to conquer all his rivals and political parties, to win next elections that are due in 2014. In the process he promised to give 100 assembly seats to BC candidates and is on the verge of shortlisting candidates for the same. Eevn BC organizations who are fighting for their rights have hailed Chandra Babu’s decision. Irrespective of his sincerity, Chandra Babu’s announcement started sending shivers under the spines of all other political parties. However one wonder whether Babu will keep up his promises.
Analysts say if Chandra Babu tries to keep up his promise, he will be faced with opposition from other caste groups. It has to be seen how Naidu a keen strategist will handle leaders from all the groups. Another talk is Chandra Babu and his party TDP has already lost hopes of winning the next elections and in order to win over at least one section of the community, its chief started playing the BC card to perfection. One has to wait and see whether BC leaders see through his game or be taken for a ride by Babu. It is a known fact that Chandra Babu used all his trick up his sleeve in last elections and got branded as ‘All Free’ Babu.

Why Sri Rama Rajyam failed to win National Award ?

Share

Tollywood movie lovers and general public were aghast when national awards for 2011 were announced. Many critics and people expected two or three national awards including the best film award. However they were shell shocked to find ‘Dirty Picture’ sweeping the awards while the jury decided not to announce any award under telugu films category. Many people criticised the jury members for their decision and some even attached motives to them. Many felt that awards can be manged using political influence and monetary benefits, what so ever it may be.
When Bapu and Balakrishna announced to make ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ many expected a film on the lines of superhit ‘Lavakusa’. True, they made a film which won the hearts of many. A careful analysis from jury point of view was that Bapu made innumerous films on Ramayana. Mythological movie lovers expected a new magical flick from him but he presented them graphical wonder. The film ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ was fully loaded with graphics and gives us a feeling that the film is just a remake of hit ‘Lavakusa’ with little bit of changes in the script which are there for everyone to see.Balakrishna just underwent the movements and acting expressions of his dad NTR and didnot try to do anything new.
Members of the Jury for National awards will surely take all these facts into consideration before finalising awards. Already ‘Lavakusa’ won n number of awards are many film festivals and it will be not fair to shower the remake film with many more awards.

Ministers waiting for Jagan’s Signal

Share

Ruling Congress seems to have been under the impression that once Jagan is sent to Jail and by elections ended they can sleep in peace. Now with YSRCP voting in favor of Pranab Mukherjee in presidential elections after Vijayamma met PM Manmohan Singh, Congress leadership at the State felt that some sorts of understanding might have been reached and Jagan will be keeping quite with its bosses asking CBI to dilute cases against him ensuring his release in due course of time.
However it seems there are shockers in store for the state leaders who are very much engaged in fighting with each other for the CM post and tarnishing late CM YSR’s image. Buzz is YSR Chief Jagan is not sitting alone in jail and sleeping peacefully. He is working overtly and covertly and is in touch with more than 12 ministers in state cabinet who will jump to his party the moment he gives green signal. These are the same ministers who were in YSR cabinet and were hand in hand with all the decisions of the earlier govt.
Many may be doing lip service in criticizing late CM YSR and his schemes. They are just waiting for the right opportunity to strike back along with Jagan. With Congress at center keen to keep its no of MP seats intact than number of MLA seats, Kiran Kumar’s CM seat and that of YSR detractors are their permanent posts. Hope they realize this hard fact and KVP’s remarks have more meanings that are hidden at present.

Can small film makers bring change?

Share

TFI is always in the grips of big four or five influential families or people and entire industry is reeling in its grip unable to come out of their iron like clutches. However small film makers created a sensation in recent film chamber elections winning over the influential members. Since for the first time, elections were held under electronic voting system and none can find out who voted for which group, all the film makers who suffered at the hands of these influential people voted unitedly for Tammareddy Bharadwaj panel during the Film Chamber elections. Those who kept film producers and film makers under their grip and tampered film production experienced shock of their life.
For years these influential few have been increasing rents of theaters as per their whims and fancies and even allotted those theaters to people who support them and exacting revenge on others who opposed them. They might have done all this but couldn’t make people vote for them threatening or keeping them in house arrest. Tammareddy Bharadwaj’s panel’s victory brings in democracy to the functioning of the panel. However the victory of the panel did not come so easily. The opponents tried all means to defeat them. They tried to introduce new panel naming it as active panel and this hurt the feelings of many small film makers. Now a days film makers have become cashiers and for that matter even Suresh Movies banner stopped making films.
This time Daggubati Suresh Panel have taken this elections prestigiously and gave parties to even members though they don’t have any votes. Even on polling day they tried to make Ashok Kumar,(Suresh’s close relative) as President as he luckily won the elections. However Tammareddy Panel opposed their moves and Suresh panel reluctantly agreed Bharadwaj as the president. Any film nagar sources say small film makers are dead against D.Suresh ‘s high handed ways and the same reflected in election results. However just winning elections will not solve the problems of small film makers. They should bring change in the system and take all parties along with them.
