Dil Raju recovers Dammu Loss with Gabbar Singh !

Dil Raju, the mega producer is on cloud nine now though there are reports that he lost a big chunk of investment through Jr.NTR’s ‘Dammu’. Check out the story.

According to insiders, Dil Raju lost vast amounts invested on ‘Dammu’, as the movie failed to reach expectations. Now that he got the rights of ‘Gabbar Singh’ for Nizam area and the movie garnering a blockbuster talk on day one, sources revealed that this mega producer cum distributor is on cloud nine. He could recover all his losses through this hit as he is the unofficial distributor of GS in many areas.

Earlier, he distributed both ‘Racha’ and ‘Dammu’, where the former movie has given him a decent profit and the second one pushed him into underground. He has emptied more theatres of ‘Dammu’ to push in ‘Gabbar Singh’ for extra shows and thereby extra profits, says a source.

And right now, it is heard that Rajamouli is upset with the hottest and latest chartbuster ‘Kevvu Keka…’ from the movie ‘Gabbar Singh’. Apparently, Rajamouli watched the film first day first show at Prasads IMAX theatre and it is heard that he was unable to relish the song which didn’t match the hype.

Already, there are those who say that the song would have created more mania if it had someone who is more voluptuous and familiar than the yummy mummy of Bollywood Malaika Arora. Anyways, Rajamouli has given a thumbs up to the film so ‘Gabbar Singh’ will become a hit then.

Synopsis:

For the first time in his career, Pawan Kalyan has played the character of a rowdy cop in Kondaveedu region. He has a bitter past as his mother marries another man and his step father does not see him. He parts away from them and becomes Police. Inspired by Gabbar Singh character in Sholay, Venkat Ratnam Naidu (Pawan) calls himself Gabbar Singh. Later, breeze and wind together blows in his life in the form of Bhagya Lakshmi (Shruti Hassan) and Siddappa Naidu (Abhimanyu Singh, a local goon). The rest of the story is all about how he combats with Sidappa Naidu and wins Bhagya Lakshmi’s hand.

Performances:

This is the most energetic performance of Pawan Kalyan after Jalsa. His action as Rowdy Police is Mind-Blowing.His dances, action sequences, comedy carried the complete grip of the movie.His superb timing, excellent comedy, punch dialogues and stupendous mannerisms will mesmerize fans. He had put in extra bit in dances too this time.

Shruti Hassan played the role of a village girl, She managed to come out well and added colour to the screen. Ali as Constable Samba is good in managing some good comedy with Pawan Kalyan. Brahmi is good as Recovery Agent Ranjith Kumar. Nagineedu and Suhasini are okay in the roles. Fish Venkat got a good role after long long time

Abhimanyu Singh is just about ok as Siddhappa Naidu. Rao Ramesh is good in a brief role as minister. Ajay, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Tanikella Bharani are totally wasted in insignificant roles. Happy days fame Gayatri gets a good role.

Technical Performances

Harish Shankar, the director of the movie calls himself an ardent fan of Pawan Kalyan and he exactly portrayed Pawan Kalyan in a way, a fan wanted to see. He elevated the heroism at the same time handled the story, though Harish Shankar added some dose over these scenes. His dialogues stand out mixed with typical attitude and mannerism of Pawan. Direction of the first half of the movie is brilliant and is a bit let down in the second half. All the songs are neatly picturized especially ‘Dil Se’, ‘Pilla’ and ‘Gabbar Singh’ songs will stand out. Malaika Arora’s Kevvu Keka will make masses frenzy.

Music by Devi Sri Prasad is really awesome for the movie ,Kevvu keka will for sure enthrall the masses ,Re recording,Back ground score is good. Fights by Ram Laxman especially the pre interval and climax fight is good, Cinematography is excellent especially during the fights and swiss song picturization. Ediitng in the second half could have been better.

Highlights:

Analysis

While it is known that Dabangg is a blockbuster hit, director Harish Shankar made ample changes to this remake script to suit the Telugu audiences taste and the film will be liked by all mass movie lovers. Gabbar Singh script had all the elements required for commercial entertainer and when Power Star Pawan Kalyan stepped in, the expectations were at peaks and director Harsih Shankar lived up to the expectations by taking the originality in Dabangg and adding elegance and Telugu flavour to it, say for instance Kabaddi fight and Antyakshari sequences. Pawan Kalyan trusted in director abilities and Harish Shankar believed in Pawan Kalyan’s style, charisma and his energy levels and Gabbar Singh resulted in an effective output.

Dialogues are one of the major highlights, punch liners like “Nenu time ni nammanu naa timing ni nammuthanu”, “Perantam annaka aadollu, Pekata annaka policelu ravadam common”, “charitra gurinchi chatha buttalu gurinchi nenu pattinchukonu…” Brahmi saying, “Meemalini Ayudala tho kadhu vayidhala tho champestha” were hilarious and punchy.

The first half of the film is packed with full dosage of entertainment, heroism, dances and ample comedy. Entire first half runs on rapid pace and is totally entertaining. Second half moves on a bit slow pace but the entertaining dialogues lifted the tempo and elevated the scenes. Harish Shankar has taken care that the film is packed with ample entertainment and it worked.

Final Verdict:

The first half of the movie goes on with high pace with some good comedy and elevated heroism. Coming to second half the movie gets into some emotional scenes and gets slow down as the depth in the story is being evaluated. However, the movie will go well with fans and masses due to the good entertainment and mass elements. The movie will be much of a respite for Pawan Kalyan who is reeling under flops for a long long time. Thumbs Up to Gabbar Singh team!

Kevvu Keka from GS disappoints ?

The item song ‘Munni Badnam’ from Sallu bhai’s Super hit movie Dabangg was a rage when released. Audience tapped their feet in sync with Malaika’s hip in the movie. Gabbar Singh makers had roped in the same Malaika to recreate the magic. The song ‘Kevvu Keka” written by Sahiti and sang by Mamata and Devi Sri Prasad was an instant blockbuster when the audio released but the same magic is not repeated on screen. Malaika could not deliver the necessary punch to lure the masses. Pawan Kalyan’s steps after his entry in the song is the only respite for fans who waited eagerly for the song.

However, the effect of this will be very negligible as the movie is heading towards huge success.

But Harish Shankar, the director of Dabangg did not repeat the same mistake, he made the best use of Pawan’s strengths and now achieved success because of that. Gabbar Singh is routine story but Pawan Kalyan’s mannerisms, dialogue delivery, energy made it a big hit.. This might be the biggest hit of the summer too.

The movie opened every where on Positive note and is keeping the cash registers ringing and fans becoming frenzy. We will have to see how many records it is going to shatter now.

Can Gabbar Singh get biggest release?

In recent times, NTR’s Dammu and Charan’s Racha had released in 1100 and 1000 theaters respectively and had reportedly got 8.04 Crores and 7.86 crores respectively. This has become the trend in recent times releasing a movie in record number of theaters and getting as much as opening as possible. But things were not rosy for Gabbar Singh to follow this trend.

The movie could not manage to get the biggest possible release as Dammu and Racha are still having decent number of theaters between them and are running decently. The movie might manage 950-970 theaters release. Lets see how much it manages to get on the day 1.

First Talk: ‘Gabbar Singh’ Is Double ‘Racha’

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Gabbar Singh’ is finally here. Check out the first talk of this movie from premiere-show screens.

As everyone knows, the story is simple where a hero takes revenge against a baddie who plays spoilsport with his family. The movie is a delight for Pawan’s fans to watch their heartthrob’s entry on a horse. Whole first of the movie is dominated by Powerstar’s punch dialogues and hilarious comedy scenes. With Pawan as their captain, all the comedians in department have done their part to take this movie to a serious interval. While narration is a big slow in second half, the fighting scenes remain highlight showing the stamina of Pawan. One will definitely forget the original ‘Dabangg’ after watching ‘Gabbar Singh’. Pawan in title role and Abhimanyu Singh as villain have rocked the screen with Shruti Hassan playing a perfect romantic interest of the hero and Malaika shaking masses with her curves.

Technically, GS is etched with high standard production values. Ram-Laxman’s fights and awesome background score stand atop. Jayanan Vincent’s camera work looked awesome for this hilarious entertainer by scoring 100 marks in songs.

Overall, this movie gives a break for Shruti Hasan from the iron leg talk. Pawan’s fans anyway get the double treat of what they have experienced from ‘Racha’ during the start of this season.

This is the first reaction of the fans and admirers of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan regarding the fresh controversy on the way he was shown in a police uniform in his upcoming cop flick ‘Gabbar Singh’.

The other day, AP police officers association has raised objection to Pawan’s attire as cop and his role as a corrupt public servant, referring it as an insult to the police uniform. Now the police department have been at the receiving end of sharp criticism. In the past, there are quite a number of films where the cops are shown as anti-social elements in different attires, including some disgusting scenes like a police officer raping the wife of other police officer. Why did they shut their eyes and mouth then? Is there any secret agenda behind attacking Gabbar Singh? Does being a top hero made Pawan a soft target?

Like in every profession, there is good and bad in police department too. Why can’t the cops, who are making a hue and cry about Gabbar Singh, see it in that angle. Even if they tried to spend a minute of their time to know about the moral values Pawan follow, this situation mayn’t have arised. Can the police heads stop their subordinates from thronging into Gabbar Singh theaters? They will fail undoubtedly, if they intend to do so!

Ironically, the police officers association president who launched this attack on Gabbar Singh is now trying desperately to see the film even before the release. Don’t be surprised, if he is one of the fans of Pawan. That’s the magic of Powerstar!!

Gabbar Singh is also having a huge release across the globe. Despite the still running Racha and Dammu, Gabbar Singh managed to get handsome number of theaters to do hungama.

Theaters count may be less when compared to Businessman and Dammu, but that doesn’t rule out the chances of Gabbar Singh to set first week records. Why because Businessman and Racha have set first week records with below par content. So, if Gabbar Singh proves to be better than those films and gets very good talk, then breaking records won’t be a problem for Gabbar Singh.
