The Congress led UPA Government had nominated sports icon Sachin Tendulkar for the President quota Rajya Sabha members. Sachin had reportedly accepted the offer and thanked Sonia Gandhi and PM Man Mohan Singh meeting them personally. Sachin had reportedly accepted the offer and President had approved his nomination. Tendulkar will now fill one of 12 seats in the Rajya Sabha that are reserved for those persons “having special knowledge or practical experience in respect of such matters as literature, science, art and social service.”
However, this development did not go well with fans who are worried that corrupt Congress might use him for political mileage.

Apparently, Santosh Srinivas is keen on roping in Shruti Haasan for the lead role in the film; however, she hasn’t signed the dotted line yet.
Sruti Hassan who currently has no success in her short career is banking on Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh to taste the fruit of success for the first time. She is currently staying away from signing any other project till Gabbar Singh releases.

Story

The story begins with a flashback about the rivalry between two families in a village. Suman (Vasi Reddy) family and Nasser family involve in killing each others family members for dominant power in village. In this regard, Vasi Reddy family members gets killed and this makes Nasser an village head for the next 25 years. Coming to the present, Rama Chandra (NTR) is adopted by Veera Durgam (Kota Srinivasa Rao) family of Vasi Reddy and is named as Vijaya Dwaja Simha. How does he win the hearts of the village people and put an end to the violence in village forms the crux.

Performances

Jr.NTR is outstanding in his role as usual by giving his cent percent. NTR has rocked as an allrounder with his fights, dialogue delivery, dances and in emotional scenes. NTR’s entry is powerful and is a treat to his fans. He is ferocious in his expressions in action episodes which makes it interesting. He has done full justice to the mass role. Boyapati elevated NTR’s image to the maximum.

Trisha looked a bit old but she was shown in a hot and sizzling avatar and she has done a decent job. Karthika is ravishing and her dances are quite impressive. But both the heroines had no scope for performance rather than showering praises on male lead. And the actresses did not make a good pair alongside NTR.

Suman is decent, Nazar and Bhanupriya fit their bill perfectly. Venu is surprisingly good; Abhinaya is impressive, Ali, Brahmanandam, Ahuti Prasad, Kota Srinivas Rao and others are adequate.

Technical Analysis

Arthur Wilson’s cinematography is on top notch with each and every frame looking quite colorful and rich. Keeravani’s music is good but the songs are badly placed with forcible situations. The Background score is the real asset for the film. Keeravani once again entertained with a good job in Re-Recording. Dialogues are penned keeping masses in the mind and yet again the political dialogues are forcibly placed. Boyapati’s direction is good while the screenplay could have been better. Ram-Lakshman’s fights are good. Choreographers failed to utilize such a tremendous dancer like NTR.

Analysis

Dammu, as the title suggests is an out and out mass entertainer. Boyapati despite coming up with a routine story, he has incorporated good commercial elements to entertain the fans to the core. Right from the introduction to the end, Dammu is totally NTR’s film and Boyapati tried to elevate his image and the Young Tiger totally rocked the screens.

On the flip side, director failed to reach the high expectations with routine story and bad screenplay. Few of the dialogues are vulgar and might keep the families away. Politics based dialogues are forcibly placed but it hints that NTR might soon step into Politics. The quite popular Ruler song has been badly place which is a disappointment.

Excessive violence, lengthy dialogues will be liked by particular sections like masses while it might keep away class audiences. The first half of Dammu is good with entertaining elements and the interval block is extremely good while the second half is high on emotional scenes and action sequences and the climax is decent.

Final Verdict

Dammu is powerful emotional entertainer and a tailor made script for NTR!!! Despite routine formulaic story, Boyapati manages to keep you glued!!!

This is one of the most important Friday in the calendar of Tollywood. Firstly, it is the summer time and secondly, it is the arrival time of one film which has been anticipated as a promising blockbuster that can wipe out the old records and create new ones in Tollywood.
We are talking about the film ‘Dhammu’ and this has Junior NTR as the hero while Trisha and Kartheeka are the leading ladies. The film is directed by Boyapati Srinu while Alexander Vallabha is the producer. Already, the songs composed by Keeravani have got good craze among the masses.
Slated to be a high octane commercial potboiler, the expectations are high on this one and sources say the film was made at a budget of Rs 40 plus crores. With an entertaining first half and a powerful second half let us wait to see if ‘Dhammu’ shows its Dhammu at the box office or not.

An old woman came running to Pawan seeking his support for the sake of her ailing daughter who is on hospital bed. Sources revealed that Pawan gave her a cheque of 50,000 rupees immediately and called Apollo Hospital to admit the girl and treat her with his expenses. While the whole unit looking at the scene kept their faces high and proud for their hero’s mighty acts, Pawan looked quite normal. Later it is revealed that the lady is none other than ‘Paavala Syamala’, who acted as Sangeetha’s mother in the film ‘Khadgam’. This incident is an example of Pawan’s love for social service and his concern for the poor and needy.
Though the authenticity of this story could not be checked, fans are over whelmed with the mighty acts of their favorite hero in ‘real’ life.

Comedian Vennela Kishore turned in to director with Vennela 11/2 starring Chaitanya Krishna and Monal Gajjar. The shooting of the movie has completed long ago and the audio release event took place 3 months ago. But the movie had not seen light since then. The reason for the delay is the movie shaped out really bad and is not attracting any buyers. Vennela Kishore had reportedly asked the producers Vasu and Varma to issue extra budget for the reshoots for which they refused blunt and used the F word to the comedian.
They are complaining that Kishore is not serious about the movie and had wasted too much money for nothing. They are demanding that Kishore should spend money from his own pocket and finish the movie and give back their investment.

Director Teja scored a big flop in the form of Neeku Naku Dash Dash and is a worried man about his career. But just like an oasis in a hot desert, the director gets a respite from a court case filed few years ago. Going in to details, During those flop times, Teja has sold out his house in Jubilee Hills to producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao. After this producer failed to pay him the said amount, Teja re-occupied his house, as said by him to the court. A case was lodged on Teja under sections 420, 448 and 506. The case is now ruled out as invalid by the Nampally court in the favor of Teja.

Prabhas’ upcoming movie Rebel which was in news for several wrong reasons is finally nearing completion. Recently, the climax of the movie is canned for which the makers shelled out a whopping 2.5 Crore rupees. The climax shoot took place for 20 days. 30 Russian fighters participated in this shoot, Ram Lakshman master choreographed the fight. The last schedule of the movie will begin on May 1st and shooting will be wrapped up by May end. The movie will be releasing in July.
Tamannah and Deekshaseth are playing the female leads. Lawerence Raghavendra is the director. J.Bhagwan and J.Pulla Rao are producing the movie under Sri Balaji Cine Media banner. Lawerence himself is composing the music.
