TV Channels cheap tricks for TRP Ratings !

Gone are the days, Media used to play strong role in moulding ideal society and bringing truth to comman man,But days are changed. Media channels are so keen in competing with each other in TRP race and increasing ad revenues. The latest example for this development is the ‘Tara Chowdary’ episode. TV Channels are busy digging up her past history and cooking stories about dark stories revolving her life. Analysts feel that these channels are trying to cash in the ‘Sex weakness’ of some weak audience. Some channels are allocating more slots for this kinda stories more than the slots created for the upcoming bielections.

This love for sensation and TRPs is killing the basic objectives of Media ethics.

Rachcha: Record Breaking Collections on Day-1

Share

Young star Ram Charan Teja’s latest block buster “Racha,” which was released on Thursday, might have got mixed responses from film critics, but going by the account books as claimed by the producers, the film has set a new record with its opening day collections.

N V Prasad conducted a special press conference to announce that the Ram Charan-Tamannaah starrer has received the highest opening ever in the Telugu cinema.

“I am very pleased to announce that “Rachcha” has created history, breaking all records for the first day collections in Telugu cinema raking in a share of Rs 8.54 crores only in AP. It just goes to show the star power of Ram Charan,” said Prasad.

The overseas collections records are not out yet. Well, we have not yet heard from the rivals – Mahesh Babu fan club. Get set for another war of words between the two camps.

Media talk about Rachcha Movie !

Share

The most waited film ‘Rachcha’ has seen light shaking entire South India with huge publicity and released in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

Now let us see what national media and other popular News Dailies in English say about this film.

Rediff: Rachha is for Ram Charan fans
Rating: 2/5

Telugu film Rachha is a potboiler meant for the masses and not for a discerning audience. Sampath Nandi dishes out a film replete with commercial ingredients in a stereotypical pattern. It defies logic and is pretty predictable too.

Sampath Nandi has nothing new to offer but has ensured that there’s no logic in many places. For example, when Raj and Chaitra are on the run, they enter into a bamboo forest in China where they are attacked by the Chinese! This scene was not much of a value addition except to show that the cast and crew went all the way to China to shoot.

Also imagine a man being hit and falling in the sanctum at the feet of the idol! The violence in the film comes across as unnecessary too.

The comedians Brahmanandam, Ali, Krishna Bhagwan, Venu Madhav, Tagobothu Ramesh bring in some laughtereven though they are inane.

Ram Charan does a good job with his action sequences and dance moves. Sampath Nandi has etched his role in such a way that his fans will surely enjoy watching him in this film.

Tamannaah is an eye candy in the film, especially in the song Vaana Vaana Velluvaaye. She looks glamorous though her role is nothing much to talk about.

Ajmal Amir makes his presence felt though one wished this talented actor was given more screen time. His characterisation was intriguing.

Parthiban and Nasser don’t appear for too long and seem wasted in this film. For actors who play negative characters like Mukesh Rishi, Kota Srinivasa Rao and Dev Gill such roles are easy as they have done it in many films.

Sameer Reddy has done a good job with his camera. Mani Sharma’s music was just about okay.

Rachha is basically for Charan’s fans who may be happy after the disastrous Orange. For others, Rachha offers nothing.

Hindu: Tailor-made for fans
Rating: N/A

About an hour into the film, Ram Charan tells Tamannaah, “Hum bahar se bahuth accha… Hum tere liye idar vaccha… donno mile tho racha,” and the audience laps it up with a thunderous applause. Racha is made-to-order for Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan fans. The canvas is larger than life and there is no budget constraint. So, visual effects come into play to add zing to the hero’s unfaltering steps in dance sequences

Racha has a lot going for it, from the high-on-adrenaline stunts to situational comedy and an indulgent display of Ram Charan’s dancing prowess. The punch dialogues are targeted at the actor’s fans. To sample a few, “Nuvvu aristhe arupule. Nenu aristhe merupule” and “Edo choosukuni thodalu kotte type kaadu ra nenu”. As an actor, Ram Charan shows mettle.

On the flip side, the film gives no scope for any of the supporting actors to shine. Ajmal, Brahmanandam, Jhansi, Ali, Dev Gill and a host of others are relegated to props. A talented actress like Geeta gets wasted in a minuscule role. Nasser and Parthiban appear in guest roles. Tamannaah has nothing to do apart from providing the glamour quotient.

Within the framework of pleasing the actor’s fan clubs, the film works. But the sense of déjà vu in the tale of revenge is palpable. Even when you tune yourself into watching a mass entertainer and don’t expect anything intellectually stimulating, you do miss the ingenuity and spark that were the hallmark of mass entertainer blockbusters like Singham, Pokiri or Kick.

Go without expectations and you will be entertained.

TimesOfIndia: Racha
Rating: 3/5

Charan does a decent job of playing a complete mass character in this flick, a first for him. But it isn’t a performance that will make you go wow. When you beat up a hundred guys in just your second flick, it sort of becomes hard to keep bettering that film after film. He tries hard nevertheless. Tamannah has an important role to play and she does the needful. She does add more than glamour value to the film. Baddies, Mukesh Rishi and Kota Srinivas Rao do the expected.

As far as the narrative goes, it suffers from over simplification and is too formulaic. A racy stunt sequence is followed a forced comic track or a dream song. The potpourri doesn’t quite come together and too many glitches end up catching your attention. The stunt sequences are the biggest letdown. There are too many of them, but none that really stand out. The music is also passable at best with the exception of “Vaan Vaana Villu Vaye . . .”

IANS: Technically sound, but lacks storyline
Rating: 2.5/5

“Rachcha” lacks a credible storyline with lacklustre and ordinary presentation.

Although it is technically well-versed, the film is essentially a formulaic presentation with a mix of everything. The action sequences have taken a little more space than the other commercial elements.

The director has taken a beaten path, which lacks variety and freshness. Even the music of the film by veteran composer Mani Sharma fails to strike a chord with the audience.

However, the major attraction of the film is lead actress Tamanna, who sizzles on the screen. She looks gorgeous and creates an impression with her energetic performance. There is not a single dull moment when she is on screen.

The glamour quotient in the “Vaana vaana” song is aimed at pleasing the younger audience and Tamanna scores well throughout the song.

Ramcharan’s action and dance sequences are a treat to his fans and remind of his father Chiranjeevi. He shows lot of style and energy in his performance, but fails to make an impact in emotional sequences.

Comic actors Brahmanandam, Ali, Venu Madhav and Krishna Bhagawan excel with their performances. Mukesh Rishi, Kota Sreenivasa Rao and Dev Gill, who play the baddies, are also quite impressive.

Bangalore Mirror: Charan’s daredevilry
Rating: N/A

After the debacle of Orange, Ram Charan set his eyes on mass masala movies. So, director Nandi has tried everything in his book to recreate the magic of the 90s, a period where Chiranjeevi ruled the screen. So, there are a number of dialogues and dance sequences where Ramcharan tries to imitate his father. He does it even in dialogue delivery when he controversially says, “Edo choosukuni thodalu kotte type kaadura nenu.” (I do not beat thighs like others). This seems like targeting a rival hero whose next movie will be released shortly. After all this, if you still wonder what Rachcha means? Even the heroine asks the hero same question to which the hero throws off a scooter singlehandedly and says that is Rachcha, his style. So, you can expect lot of ‘extras’ like this all throughout the movie.

It will be a comeback movie for music director Mani Sharma who has struck the right chord after a long time. It has to be said that he was ably supported by Charan who sets screen on fire with his dancing skills. Acting-wise, Charan delivers and he has always praised Tamanna for her role and the way she carries herself with grace though it appears that her make-up is overdone a bit. The others — Mukesh Rishi and Kota Srinivas Rao — have done justice to their roles.

As a debut director, Sampat Nandi shows his nervousness in the beginning though he gets the grip as it progresses. The way he utilised Brahamandam and Ali deserves special mention. Apart from the predictability factor, the climax too is a big let-down. Watchable, once.

Ram Charan to share screen with Big B

Share

Re-inventing Bachchan classics has become quite fashionable in Bollywood. Apoorva Lakhia, who directs the remake of Zanjeer starring Ram Charan Tej, has sought the Bachchans’ consent before embarking on his ambitious project.

Lakhia had even offered the lead to Abhishek. According to a source, Abhishek declined saying he wouldn’t want to put himself in direct comparison with his father.

Latest news is that, Lakhia has now managed to get Bachchan Sr to do a cameo in his film. “Right now, it’s too early to talk about the extent of Bachchan’s participation in Zanjeer. But yes, I can’t dream of remaking the film without Mr Bachchan, Jayaji and Abhishek’s participation. The project has their blessing and support,” says Lakhia.

Meanwhile, a reliable source revealed that Big B would soon be meeting the leading man of the new Zanjeer, Ram Charan Tej, with the latter having expressed a keen desire to seek the original Vijay’s blessings and advice.

Lakhia has even written a scene where both shares screen space. That’s something to look forward to.

Nandamuri Fans silent on Adhinayakudu !

NTR targets Rachcha with Dammu !

Share

The first biggie for summer 2012 has arrived in the form of ‘Racha’ and it has become a success with record openings. However, one thing in the film has caught the attention of the many. Two or three dialogues from Charan which threw a satire has become the hot discussion.

Many say they were hurled at the Nandamuri family only and this has led to few speculations. Now, it is heard that a counter is already underway. Sources say few Nandamuri fans have begun to apply pressure on director Boyapati Srinu to come up with a dialogue or two in Dammu that will counter Racha dialogues mega family.

Despite several cine members urging the fans to enjoy cinema as cinema and not to take it personally, the fans seem to be in a hysteric mode. Young Tiger Jr NTR has got a strong following and it has become more of a prestige issue with Ram Charan rolling out those lines.

Ram Charan follows NTR’s footsteps!

Share

Junior NTR was popular for referring to his grand father, Legend NTR’s name where possible. Be it movie dialogues, Speeches in functions, interviews etc.. Although Nandamuri fans liked them, general public got irritated with this kind of non stop self appraisal.

Mega heros usually stayed away from this for certain extent be it Pawan Kalyan or Allu Arjun. But looks like Ram Charan has different ideas. He is making use of Chiranjeevi’s name as much as possible in the movies. Interestingly, in this case leave aside General Public, even fans are not expecting such behavior from Charan. Lets see if he refrain from such things from his next movie.

RGV’s Single Shot For Hot M&M

Share
The otherwise publicity master has failed this time to recreate his ‘sensation’ at Box Office. This is about a latest trailer of his upcoming film which gave only a single shot for M&M.
Ramu’s latest Hindi movie is ‘Department’ with Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Rana in the leads. The trailer of the movie is out but hasn’t got required attention as there is no piece of sensationalism in it. More than this, M&M have become hot topic among the people who watched it. In that boring lengthy trailer, RGV has given only a single shot for Manchu Lakshmi and Madhushalini.
Both these glamorous starlets are yet to start their scores in tinsel towns. Had Ramu given them a perfect share of pie in that trailer, both the ‘no break’ ladies might have got few applauses. With their faces passing the screens in split seconds, the hot ladies are not at all getting any ‘wild’ recognition. Though this ‘single shot’ is not yielding much in trailers, let us see how M&M will make it in the movie.

Sexy Heroine’s ‘Paanch Phataaka’!!

Share
The term Paanch Phataaka might remind you of the songs program in an FM Radio channel but the one we are talking about is coming from a sexy heroine. She is none other than the milky thigh beauty Tapsee Pannu. Well, it is heard that this pretty starlet has got five releases for the year 2012.
First in the list is ‘Daruvu’ which has Tapsee pairing up with the mass maharaja Ravi Teja. This is followed by her second Telugu venture ‘Gundello Godaari’ which is almost on the final stages of making. Currently, Tapsee is also busy with the shooting of ‘Shadow’ wherein she is pairing up with victory Venkatesh.
Last but not the least she has another untitled venture to be directed by Chandrasekhar Yeleti and also her Bollywood debut movie titled ‘Chashme Baddoor’ which is being directed by David Dhawan. Given the heat she generates onscreen, this should be a real treat for the fans of Tapsee.

Divya Bharati’s life to be made as film

Share
Divya Bharati…the name is enough to stir the heartbeats of many men who were cine buffs of the 90s. Though she was seen in very few films, Divya Bharati became the heartthrob of all and was poised to become the queen of Bollywood before cruel destiny took her away. She fell from her terrace under mysterious circumstances and died in April 1993.
Now, almost twenty years later, a biopic is being made on her life and the man to make that happen is Vikram Sandhu. He has written the script and would be directing this project. However, he reportedly maintained that this is the story of a young girl without taking any reference to Divya.
Currently, the search is on to find the right kind of face to fit the role of Divya Bharati and the shooting will take place in India and Dubai. Buzz is that this would be hitting the floors in July 2012. To those who saw Divya in films like ‘Bobbili Raja’ ‘Assembly Rowdy’ etc, she will always be the queen of their hearts.

Ram Charan is the new Megastar

Share
When Ram Charan created history with Magadheera, most of the film analysts and other heroes fans gave credit to Rajamouli. They didn’t even consider the fact that Rajamouli has done films with other heroes in the past and has never broken industry record even once. When Orange flopped, critics again said that Magadheera’s credit solely goes to Rajamouli.
But a real mass hero’s stamina can’t be estimated with a film like Orange. When Racha was announced with a relatively new director, who directed a B grade film as his debut, then the same critics and analysts again said that this film will be the litmus test for Ram Charan’s stamina as a star. First three movies of Charan were directed by proved directors. Racha was directed by Sampath Nandi, whose name is not known to many of the regular filmgoers even.
Now Charan has shut all the mouths of his critics with Racha by breaking the first day collection record by a huge margin. He has done this with a new director, weak audio and with a film which did not have any pre release buzz whatsoever. A star’s stamina is estimated when he can get this sort of collections irrespective of the director. In that case, Ram Charan is as big as Megastar in terms of crowd pulling capabilities. Keep it up Cherry.

Can Kiran and Botsa reach High Command Expectations?

Share

The infighting between Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee president has landed them in serious trouble so much that it is now all set to cost them their posts.

Obviously taking serious note of the party’s miserable position in the state and erosion of the party’s image due to serious differences between the Chief Minister and the PCC president, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has given them one last chance to survive: win at least half of the seats in the forthcoming by-elections to 18 assembly seats. Otherwise, both of them would be shown the door.

Now the moot question is whether Kiran and Botsa would live up to the expectations of Sonia Gandhi. According to political observers, the victory of YSR Congress party candidates in almost all the seats, barring one or two, is a foregone conclusion. And it will be an uphill task for the Congress party to win at least two or three seats, leave alone nine seats.

If that were to happen, Kiran and Botsa would have to lose their posts in the next three or four months. In any case, the Congress party would have to face disintegration after the by-elections.

Prabhu Deva Not opening mouth on Nayantara Issue

Share

When Prabhu Deva got to meet the press recently in Chennai, the most important question that he had to face was about his relationship with Nayanthara. The actor, with lost oodles of weight, has shifted his focus back to films after his break — up with Nayantara. He has not spoken openly about his personal life so far.

Reacting to this question about Nayan, Prabhu said that he prefers not to talk about it. Prabhu said that all that mattered now is what his friends think of him and what one hears through media reports is certainly not true.

Adding that though he wished to speak the truth, he feels that it would hurt some people and he does not want that to happen.
