Missing Indian Student Saketh Sreenivasaiah Found Dead in California

Share

A 22-year-old Indian student, Saketh Sreenivasaiah, has been found dead in California, six days after he was reported missing.

Sreenivasaiah, a native of Karnataka, was pursuing a master’s degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. He was last seen on February 9, approximately a kilometre away from campus, which triggered an extensive search operation in and around Lake Anza and the Berkeley Hills.

The Consulate General of India, San Francisco confirmed that local authorities had recovered his body. In an official statement posted on X, the Consulate expressed deep sorrow over the tragic development and extended heartfelt condolences to his family. It also assured that all necessary assistance would be provided, including coordination with local authorities and arrangements to repatriate his mortal remains to India at the earliest. Consular officials are reportedly in direct contact with the family to help them through the required formalities.

During the search efforts, a backpack containing his passport and laptop was discovered near a residence close to Tilden Regional Park, not far from the university campus. Community members also rallied online, including through a Reddit thread, to coordinate information and assist in locating him.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Sreenivasaiah was one of six inventors listed on a patent for a “microchannel cooling system for hyperloop and a method thereof.” Friends and colleagues have remembered him as intelligent, humble, quick-witted, and deeply loyal.

The recovery of his body brings a tragic conclusion to the six-day search. Authorities and consular officials continue to extend support to his grieving family during this profoundly difficult time.

Anupama Parameswaran Stuns in Golden Elegance, Gears Up for Crazy Kalyanam

Anupama Parameswaran began her journey in cinema with the Malayalam blockbuster Premam and quickly became a recognizable presence across South Indian industries. In Telugu, she strengthened her position with successful films like A Aa, Sathamanam Bhavati, and Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi. She was also part of Tillu Square, which emerged as a major box-office success last year. Over time, Anupama has worked across Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada cinema, earning appreciation for her steady and sincere performances.

In her latest photoshoot, Anupama dazzles in a floor-length golden gown adorned with subtle shimmer patterns arranged in horizontal and geometric designs. The off-shoulder neckline, complemented by soft sheer sleeves, lends the outfit a refined and elegant touch. She accessorizes with delicate floral earrings featuring pearl drops, adding grace to the overall look. Her signature curly hair is styled into a neat updo, and in a few frames, red roses accent the hairstyle, creating a striking contrast against the golden ensemble. The styling remains clean, classy, and perfectly balanced.

On the professional front, Anupama is currently working on the Telugu family entertainer Crazy Kalyanam alongside Tharun Bhascker and V. K. Naresh. Earlier this year, her film Lockdown hit screens in January. Meanwhile, Premam was re-released in theatres on February 13, 2026, celebrating a decade since the film that first introduced her to audiences and set her on a successful cinematic path.

Funky Opens Below Expectations, Raises Questions for Vishwak Sen

Share

Until a few films ago, Vishwak Sen enjoyed a reputation for delivering decent openings regardless of pre-release buzz. He built a strong following among the masses, particularly in single-screen centres, where his energetic screen presence often translated into solid initial numbers.

However, the trend appears to be shifting. After Laila turned out to be a box-office disappointment, its after-effects now seem visible on his latest release, Funky. Despite carrying fairly positive buzz ahead of release and being directed by Anudeep KV, the comedy entertainer has opened to average collections across the Telugu states. Even on its second day — a crucial weekend window — the response has reportedly remained underwhelming.

While Funky is said to be performing marginally better in select regions, the overall occupancy levels are below expectations. Trade circles suggest that this phase could serve as a wake-up call for the young actor, whose box-office momentum appears to have slowed in recent times.

There is little doubt about Vishwak Sen’s talent and commanding screen presence. However, a section of fans believes that his recent script choices have not fully capitalized on his strengths. If he aims to regain his earlier box-office stamina, a sharper focus on stronger, content-driven scripts might be the key to bouncing back in a big way.

Couple Friendly Opens Strong with Impressive Day One Collection

Share

The small-budget romantic drama Couple Friendly has opened to a surprisingly strong response at the box office, reportedly collecting ₹1.89 crore worldwide on its first day. Considering the relatively dull theatrical phase and the ongoing exam season, this opening is being viewed as an impressive achievement.

The film stars Santosh Shoban, who has long been awaiting a solid commercial breakthrough despite consistently delivering earnest performances. As the son of late director Sobhan, Santosh has always enjoyed goodwill within the industry, with many rooting for his success. With Couple Friendly receiving positive talk right from the first show, it appears that his long-awaited moment may finally have arrived.

Former Miss India Manasa Varanasi has also garnered appreciation for her performance. Her graceful screen presence and natural acting bring a refreshing charm to the love story. The chemistry between the lead pair has resonated well with audiences and is emerging as one of the film’s biggest strengths.

Despite the dry spell at the box office, the film registered steady occupancy, particularly in multiplexes. Trade analysts believe that if the positive word of mouth continues, Couple Friendly could witness healthy growth over the weekend.

For a content-driven romantic drama, this opening reaffirms that strong storytelling and relatable emotions can still draw audiences to theatres.

Naveen Chandra’s Not A Doctor Sparks Intrigue with Eerie First Look

Rahul Yadav Nakka’s banner Swadharm Entertainment, widely recognized for backing novel and content-driven cinema, has announced yet another intriguing and unconventional project. Director Srikanth Nagothi, who previously earned critical appreciation for his distinctive storytelling, is set to helm Naveen Chandra in his third directorial outing.

The film was officially announced on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri, along with its striking title — Not A Doctor. The title poster immediately grabs attention with its eerie and unsettling imagery. A massive, grimy hand emerges from the forest floor, its nails caked in dirt and skin coarse, entangled in twisted, moss-covered roots. Surrounded by dense trees and shadowy greenery, the visual creates a chilling atmosphere filled with suspense.

Adding to the intrigue is the tagline: “Based on a novel that was never written.” The line is as cryptic and captivating as the title itself, sparking instant curiosity. With such a mysterious combination of title, tagline, and poster design, the film has already managed to generate significant buzz.

The makers have hinted that more details regarding the cast, genre, and storyline will be unveiled in the coming days, further building anticipation around this first-of-its-kind venture.

Ravi Teja’s Irumudi Blends Rustic Romance with Emotional Depth

Share

Ravi Teja is gearing up to surprise audiences with a refreshingly unconventional role in his upcoming film Irumudi, directed by Shiva Nirvana. Backed by the prominent pan-India banner Mythri Movie Makers, the project instantly created buzz when its first look was unveiled on Ravi Teja’s birthday.

Adding to the excitement, the makers revealed the first look of Priya Bhavani Shankar on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. The poster beautifully captures the chemistry between the lead pair. Ravi Teja appears in a rugged, earthy makeover that reflects a deeply rooted rural character. In contrast to his intense mass persona, the affectionate moment where he plants a gentle kiss on Kaveri’s cheek reveals a softer, romantic dimension. Priya Bhavani Shankar, dressed in a traditional saree, exudes grace and natural charm. The rustic backdrop, complete with a banana cart, further establishes the village setting and hints at a tender love story.

However, Irumudi promises to be more than just romance. Shiva Nirvana has reportedly crafted an emotionally charged narrative that blends strong sentiment with commercial elements. At its core lies a poignant father–daughter relationship, presenting Ravi Teja in a performance that demands emotional depth along with a noticeable physical and character transformation.

The film’s technical team adds further weight to expectations. Music is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography is handled by Vishnu Sarma, production design is by Sahi Suresh, and editing is overseen by Prawin Pudi. The shoot is currently progressing at a brisk pace, with the team working steadily to bring this emotionally layered entertainer to the big screen.

Director Buchi Babu Sana is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that Ram Charan’s upcoming rural action drama Peddi delivers a thunderous theatrical experience. Slated for release on April 30, the film is being crafted with several goosebump-inducing moments aimed at generating mass hysteria in cinemas.

Reportedly centered around multiple sports, Peddi is said to feature a variety of high-energy sequences inspired by games that enjoy both global appeal and deep local roots. It is already known that the film includes a major cricket-based episode, which is expected to stand out as one of its biggest highlights.

Adding to the excitement, the latest buzz reveals an intense kushti (wrestling) sequence that unfolds at a crucial juncture in the narrative. This high-voltage portion is currently being shot in Hyderabad. Sources suggest that Buchi Babu is meticulously designing the scene to ensure it appears raw, organic, and visually striking on the big screen. Ram Charan’s remarkable physical transformation and rugged, earthy makeover are anticipated to amplify the impact of these power-packed moments.

The team recently completed filming a heavy-duty climax and has now shifted focus to wrapping up the remaining key portions. Interestingly, the unit is also planning to celebrate Buchi Babu’s birthday on Sunday after concluding the ongoing schedule.

Although the film was postponed from its earlier March 27 release date, the makers are working at a brisk pace to avoid any last-minute rush. Going by the current momentum, Peddi is firmly on track for its April 30 release without further delays.

The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyendu Sharma, and Boman Irani. The music is composed by the legendary A. R. Rahman, further elevating expectations surrounding the project.

Telugu Youth Create Buzz for Michael Jackson Biopic

Share

The Telugu audience have always stood out for their unmatched enthusiasm in supporting quality cinema. If a film connects with them, language is never a barrier. This is one of the key reasons why several films from other industries are consistently dubbed into Telugu, with many of them going on to perform impressively at the box office.

Now, that same passion has extended beyond Indian cinema and reached Hollywood. The upcoming biopic on the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson, titled Michael, is gearing up for its release on April 24. While there is moderate anticipation for the film in Western markets, the buzz in India—especially in the South—initially appeared minimal.

However, Telugu youth on social media have taken matters into their own hands. A group of highly talented Telugu editors have created a series of engaging fan-made edits using footage from the film, blending it with popular songs of South Indian superstars. These creative mashups are now going viral across platforms like Twitter and Instagram.

As a result, many who had not previously paid attention to the promotional material are now discovering the film through these edits. The organic buzz generated by Telugu netizens is significantly increasing the film’s visibility in the Telugu states.

Once again, it proves that when it comes to celebrating cinema, the Telugu audience are truly unparalleled. In fact, some netizens are joking that even Hollywood marketing strategies might fall short of the sheer dedication and creativity displayed by Telugu youth—and it’s hard to disagree.
