Alia Bhatt Loses Maddock’s Chamunda Project

In what is being seen as another setback to Alia Bhatt’s career plans, the actress has reportedly lost a major project. According to sources, Maddock Films had initially finalized Alia for a supernatural thriller titled Chamunda, which was envisioned as the launchpad for her own supernatural franchise—on the lines of Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree.
“Alia was extremely excited about the project,” reveals a source close to the development. “However, after Saiyaara with Aneet Padda gained traction, Maddock Films shifted focus toward building a female superhero universe around her. That’s how Shakti Shalini came into existence, while Chamunda was pushed to the back burner.”
The source further adds that these changes followed the underperformance of Alia’s female-led film Jigra, produced by Karan Johar, at the box office. Additionally, her project Alpha with Yash Raj Films was postponed indefinitely, further complicating her lineup.
So, has Chamunda been shelved? “For the time being, yes,” says the source. “The makers are waiting to see how Alia’s Love & War with Sanjay Leela Bhansali shapes up before taking a final call.”
Aamir Khan Reveals Why He Met Arijit Singh

Explaining his recent meeting with Arijit Singh, following the singer’s sudden announcement about stepping away from playback singing, Aamir Khan shared interesting details about the visit.
“I was in Murshidabad a few days ago,” Aamir said. “I wasn’t there to convince Arijit not to quit singing for films. I had gone there for a different reason. Of course, I did try my best to persuade him to reconsider, but it didn’t work. He seems to have made up his mind.”
So what was the real purpose of Aamir’s visit? Clarifying the same, the actor revealed that it was related to his upcoming film Ek Din. “I was there for his rendition of the Ek Din songs. I requested him to sing for my sake, and he agreed. He is singing for Junaid’s character. Since Ek Din was an earlier commitment, Arijit wanted to complete it. The film has five songs, and he has sung all of them,” Aamir explained.
Showering praise on the celebrated singer, Aamir added, “He is an extraordinary talent and a wonderful human being. I had a memorable time with him, his family, and his team. He has absolutely nailed the songs. Such a rare talent. It’s truly sad for films—and for all of us who are his fans.”
Allu Arjun Steps In to Strengthen Geetha Arts

Geetha Arts, the production house built by Allu Aravind through decades of relentless hard work, has grown into a diversified entertainment empire with interests spanning theatres, film distribution, finance, and real estate.
Although the company has three heirs—Allu Bobby, Allu Arjun, and Allu Sirish—none of them were actively involved in the organisation’s day-to-day operations for a long time. There was also little necessity, as Allu Aravind personally oversaw the business, appointing experienced and capable professionals to manage each division.
Currently, Vidya, daughter of Chiranjeevi’s co-brother, plays a crucial role in the company’s functioning, while other verticals continue to be handled by seasoned executives.
Against this backdrop, Allu Arjun has now begun taking a more active interest in Geetha Arts. Rather than involving himself in routine administration, he is supervising the organisation at a macro level—participating in review meetings, strategic planning, and major decision-making.
Since his involvement, a few structural changes have reportedly taken place. Some long-time associates were respectfully relieved of their responsibilities, making way for younger professionals to take charge of key roles.
Though this move comes relatively late, Allu Arjun’s decision to step forward and strengthen the empire built by Allu Aravind is being viewed as a positive and timely development for Geetha Arts’ future.
Trivikram Torn Between Allu Arjun and NTR for God of War

While both actors have shown strong interest, the key challenge lies in synchronizing their schedules. At present, Trivikram is busy directing Adarsha Kutumbam with Venkatesh. However, this project is considered a relatively small and quick film for the ace filmmaker, taken up ahead of his much more ambitious venture, God of War—a large-scale mythological epic inspired by Lord Karthikeya.
Initially, NTR had given his nod to God of War and was even seen reading books related to Lord Karthikeya as part of his preparation. Co-producer Naga Vamsi had also officially announced the project on social media, confirming NTR’s involvement.
However, recent developments have altered the equation. Allu Arjun has reportedly expressed his willingness to step in if NTR is unable to accommodate the project due to date constraints. NTR is currently committed to Prashanth Neel’s Dragon, which has been progressing steadily.
Sources close to the project suggest that Trivikram personally prefers Allu Arjun for the role of the God of War. The primary reason cited is the film’s potential pan-Indian appeal. With Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun has firmly cemented his dominance in the North Indian market, boasting a reach that rivals even top Bollywood stars. Industry insiders believe this makes him a safer and more commercially viable option.
While NTR also enjoys a strong pan-Indian image and delivered a massive Rs 1000-crore blockbuster with RRR, his subsequent releases—Devara and War 2—reportedly failed to replicate the same level of success. This, sources say, further tips the scale in Allu Arjun’s favor.
That said, the situation remains far from straightforward. Allu Arjun has already committed to a film with Lokesh Kanagaraj, officially announced as his 23rd project (AA23). If he prioritizes Lokesh’s film, Trivikram may have to wait longer—something the director is reportedly reluctant to do.
Insiders reveal that Trivikram plans to take God of War on floors immediately after wrapping up Adarsha Kutumbam. If Allu Arjun is to headline the project, he would either need to complete the Lokesh Kanagaraj film swiftly or defer it.
With scheduling conflicts at the heart of the matter, it remains to be seen whether Trivikram will ultimately move forward with NTR or Allu Arjun for this highly anticipated mythological epic.
Eesha Rebba–Tharun Bhascker Relationship Buzz Continues

Actress Eesha Rebba and filmmaker Tharun Bhascker have reportedly been in a relationship for quite some time now. While Tharun is a divorcee and Eesha remains unmarried, the two are said to have grown close over the years and are believed to be living together.
Speculation about their relationship gained momentum during their first collaboration, Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi. The rumored personal connection between the actress and the director became a major talking point and significantly contributed to the film’s pre-release buzz.
However, the heightened curiosity failed to translate into box-office success, as the film eventually ended up as a commercial disappointment.
During the promotional phase of the movie, Tharun Bhascker hinted that he would soon make an official statement about his personal life, without directly naming Eesha Rebba. This comment further fueled speculation and raised expectations of a formal confirmation.
Since then, Tharun has shifted his focus to his upcoming projects, and there has been no clarity regarding the promised statement. Whether he chooses to address the relationship publicly or continues to keep his personal life away from the spotlight remains to be seen.
Fab Four Set for Historic Sankranti 2027 Clash

If everything goes according to plan, Sankranti 2027 could witness an unprecedented box-office showdown in Tollywood. For the first time ever, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, and Venkatesh—the Fab Four of Telugu cinema—may lock horns during the biggest festival season.
Despite their long and illustrious careers, these four stalwarts have never clashed simultaneously at the box office. While a couple of them have occasionally released films around the same festive period in the past, a four-way clash has remained elusive—until now.
Victory Venkatesh has already locked his Sankranti berth. Director Anil Ravipudi officially announced that his next film with Venky will hit screens during Sankranti 2027 without fail. The film, touted to be a full-fledged entertainer, will feature Fahadh Faasil in a crucial role. Given Ravipudi’s track record of timely releases, the project is expected to stick firmly to its festival date.
Joining the race is Akkineni Nagarjuna, who has reportedly finalized the sequel to his 2016 blockbuster Soggade Chinni Nayana. Directed by Kalyan Krishna, the sequel is expected to reunite the Akkineni trio, with Akhil and Naga Chaitanya also playing key roles. Nagarjuna is currently busy shooting for his landmark 100th film under director Ra Karthik, which is likely to release this year. The sequel’s regular shoot is expected to commence shortly after, aiming for a Sankranti 2027 release.
While Venky and Nag appear firm about their festival releases, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Nandamuri Balakrishna are also reportedly keen on joining the high-voltage clash. Chiranjeevi, fresh from ruling the Sankranti box office with Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu, is planning another mass entertainer with director KS Ravindra (Bobby). This marks their second collaboration after Waltair Veerayya. Although the film’s shoot was delayed due to legal issues involving producer KVN Productions and Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, a quick start could still see the film make it to Sankranti 2027.
On the other hand, Balakrishna is gearing up for NBK111, to be directed by Veera Simha Reddy fame Gopichand Malineni. Pre-production is in full swing, and the makers are reportedly planning an aggressive shooting schedule to wrap up filming by December, setting the stage for a grand Sankranti release.
Despite the rise of next-generation stars, all four veterans continue to command massive fan followings across age groups and regions. If this much-anticipated clash materializes, Sankranti 2027 could go down as one of the most memorable and historic moments in Tollywood’s box-office history.
For now, all eyes are on how things unfold. Only time will tell if this clash of Tollywood titans truly becomes a reality.
Mammootty Reveals the Friend Who Gave Him His Legendary Name

A few years ago, Malayalam cinema fans often wondered how Mohammed Kutty came to be known as Mammootty. Over time, many stories circulated, with some people even claiming they were responsible for giving him the iconic name. Yet, the truth remained a mystery for years.
At a public event in Kerala, legendary actor Mammootty finally decided to set the record straight. To everyone’s surprise, he openly introduced the friend who had actually given him the name Mammootty. The audience was not expecting such a personal revelation.
On stage, Mammootty shared a humorous memory from his college days. Back then, he used to tell his friends that his name was Omar Sharif, after the internationally acclaimed actor whom he greatly admired. One day, however, his secret came out in an amusing way—he accidentally dropped his identity card. When his friends saw it, they discovered his real name was Mohammed Kutty. One of them immediately laughed and remarked that he was clearly not Omar Sharif. That moment became a memorable turning point in his life.
Mammootty then pointed to the audience and introduced the very friend who had given him the name “Mammootty.” The friend, identified as Sashidharan, was met with loud cheers and applause. Many in the crowd even chanted slogans to honor him.
The actor also addressed the numerous rumors surrounding his name over the years, noting that many had claimed credit, even in newspapers. But he made it clear that only Sashidharan deserved the recognition. Mammootty added that he had kept this secret for years, waiting for the right moment to share it with the world.
Pawan Kalyan’s Next Film with Surender Reddy Rumored for Sankranti Release

Given how actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan’s recent films have faced production delays due to his political responsibilities as Deputy Chief Minister, it is still too early to predict timelines for his upcoming projects with certainty.
That said, rumors continue to swirl about his next film. It is widely reported that Pawan Kalyan will reunite with director Surender Reddy for a big-budget project produced by Ram Talluri. Fan anticipation is already high, as audiences are eager to see him back on the big screen.
Although the untitled film has yet to be officially launched and no shooting schedule has been confirmed, unverified reports suggest the team may target the highly anticipated Sankranti festival next year for release. There are also claims that the film could be launched around Ugadi next month.
Close sources to Pawan Kalyan, however, have clarified that nothing is finalized due to uncertainty over his availability, given his ongoing political commitments. While there is sufficient time for a Sankranti release, coordinating bulk shooting dates for Pawan will be challenging. Even if schedules are arranged, there is no guarantee that the actor will complete his portions within the planned timeframe. Additionally, Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film with director Bobby is also aiming for a Sankranti release, which could further affect Pawan Kalyan’s release plans.
Meanwhile, speculation has emerged that Fauzi fame Imanvi has been finalized as the female lead, though the team has remained tight-lipped on these reports.
Dulquer Salmaan’s Emotional Drama Aakasamlo Oka Tara Gears Up for Climax Shoot

Dulquer Salmaan is currently starring in the emotionally charged drama Aakasamlo Oka Tara, directed by Pavan Sadineni. The film marks the debut of newcomer Satvika Veeravalli, who stars opposite Dulquer, while Shruti Haasan plays a pivotal role, adding significant depth to the cast.
Filming is progressing rapidly, with the team set to shoot the crucial climax sequence featuring Dulquer and Satvika in Rajahmundry starting tomorrow. Given the film’s emphasis on love, emotion, and human connections, director Pavan Sadineni is taking extra care to ensure this key segment resonates perfectly with audiences.
Presented by Geetha Arts and Swapna Cinema, the film is produced by Sandeep Gunnam and Ramya Gunnam. On the technical front, GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music, while Sujith Sarang handles cinematography.
