Sreeleela Still Waits for a Hit

Share

Despite starring in big projects and sharing screen space with top heroes, Sreeleela is still waiting for that one breakthrough success.

Time and again, it feels like she is just a step away from a solid hit, but somehow, luck hasn’t been on her side. This time, she pinned high hopes on Ustaad Bhagat Singh, especially with the backing of Pawan Kalyan. However, the film failed to deliver the much-needed success for her.

Interestingly, her role sparked mixed reactions. Initially, many pointed out the absence of a proper dance number—something fans usually expect from her. But as discussions grew, a section of the audience began appreciating her performance, noting that she managed to impress even without relying on her dancing strengths.

This puts Sreeleela in a rather tricky spot—should she feel happy about the positive feedback on her acting, or disappointed that the film itself didn’t click?

On the brighter side, she continues to maintain her strong screen presence, balancing glamour with a noticeable improvement in her acting skills. Her dancing ability is already a proven asset, making her one of the most energetic performers among the younger generation.

However, consistent success has remained elusive. Last year, films like Robinhood, Junior, and Mass Jathara didn’t significantly boost her career. This year too, Parashakti and Ustaad Bhagat Singh haven’t worked in her favour.

SpaceX Eyes Record-Breaking $75B IPO

Share

SpaceX is gearing up for one of the biggest moves in its history—not a rocket launch, but a potential entry into public markets. According to multiple reports, the company led by Elon Musk could file for its Initial Public Offering (IPO) as early as this week or next.

If the plan materializes, SpaceX could raise over $75 billion, potentially making it the largest IPO ever—far surpassing Saudi Aramco’s $29.4 billion listing in 2019. The expected valuation is equally staggering, with estimates suggesting the company could be worth more than $1.75 trillion, placing it among the world’s most valuable firms.

SpaceX today is far more than a rocket company. While its launch business plays a crucial role in US space missions and is supported by major government contracts, its biggest revenue driver is Starlink, which generates billions through satellite-based internet services. The company has also expanded into artificial intelligence through its association with xAI, bringing together rockets, satellites, and AI under a single ecosystem.

Despite strong revenues, SpaceX requires massive funding to support its ambitious projects. The development of Starship, designed for future Moon and Mars missions, demands significant long-term investment. Additionally, the company is exploring orbital infrastructure, including space-based data centers. Its AI ambitions further add to costs, with advanced model training requiring enormous computing power and potentially billions in spending.

Going public would allow SpaceX to access much larger capital pools, helping it compete with AI players like OpenAI and Anthropic, both of which are also rumored to be considering IPOs.

So far, SpaceX has relied on private funding from major investors. However, its expanding vision may now demand broader financial backing. An IPO would not only raise fresh capital but also provide publicly traded shares that can be used for acquisitions, partnerships, and employee incentives. Reports suggest the company may adopt a dual-class share structure, allowing insiders like Musk to retain significant control even after going public.

The IPO process is expected to begin with regulatory filings in the United States, followed by a review phase and investor presentations. If everything proceeds as planned, SpaceX could make its stock market debut as early as June 2026.

xAI Launches $10 ‘SuperGrok Lite’ Plan

Share

Elon Musk’s AI venture xAI is expanding access to its Grok AI tool with the introduction of a new entry-level subscription plan called SuperGrok Lite. Musk revealed the details through a post on X, sharing a screenshot that outlined its pricing and features.

The SuperGrok Lite plan is priced at $10 (approximately ₹830) per month, making it significantly more affordable than the existing SuperGrok subscription, which costs $30 per month. This pricing strategy clearly targets entry-level users, including newcomers and creators looking for a balance between cost and enhanced AI capabilities.

The plan offers “basic creation” tools, including entry-level AI image and video generation with limited usage. While exact limits haven’t been disclosed, users are expected to be able to generate 480p videos of up to 6 seconds in duration. Additionally, the subscription provides chat sessions that are twice as long as those in the free tier, along with access to one AI agent. Overall, the plan is designed for light users who want a taste of premium features without paying for higher-tier subscriptions.

Currently, SuperGrok Lite is in the testing phase and is available only to select users. A broader global rollout is expected later this year. However, official pricing and availability for India will likely be confirmed closer to the full launch.

H-1B Visa Registrations Drop Sharply for 2027

Share

H-1B visa registrations for fiscal year 2027 have seen a sharp decline, with filings estimated to be down by 30 to 50 percent compared to last year. The drop comes as the application window closes, reflecting a noticeable shift in employer behavior under revised rules.

The decline has particularly impacted large IT outsourcing firms and start-ups. However, immigration experts believe the changes are also reshaping the hiring landscape, potentially creating new opportunities for smaller and mid-sized employers.

A more cautious approach from companies appears to be a key factor behind the reduced numbers. Reports suggest that many employers held back due to increased visa fees and uncertainty surrounding modifications to the lottery system. Shilpa Malik noted that filings in her experience dropped by nearly 50 percent, while other experts estimate the decline at around 30 percent.

The revised system is expected to benefit a different group of applicants. Master’s degree holders in the United States are likely to gain the most, along with mid-sized companies willing to offer higher salaries for specialized roles. Smaller firms, which previously struggled to compete with bulk applications from large outsourcing companies, may now have a better chance. With a more level playing field, these employers feel they have a fair shot at securing skilled talent.

The registration window officially closed on March 19, and the selection process is set to begin soon. The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services is expected to notify selected applicants by March 31, 2026, through their online accounts.

Each year, the United States issues 85,000 H-1B visas under its annual cap—65,000 for specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor’s degree, and an additional 20,000 reserved for applicants holding a master’s degree or higher from a US institution.

‘Nagabandham’ Locks July 3 Release Date

Share

Director Abhishek Nama’s ambitious pan-Indian spectacle Nagabandham, starring Virat Karrna, has officially locked its release date. The makers have announced that the film will hit theatres worldwide on July 3rd.

Produced on a grand scale by NIK Studios and Abhishek Pictures, the team has strategically opted for an early monsoon release, avoiding the crowded summer window to secure better visibility and a clear box office runway.

The newly unveiled poster stands out as a visual spectacle, blending mythology with modern aesthetics. Designed with a dual-world concept, it presents two contrasting realms—one divine and the other contemporary. The upper half features Virat Karrna in a powerful Lord Shiva avatar, holding a massive, intricately designed golden trishul, while the lower half introduces the antagonist in a sleek, modern look, hinting at an intense clash of eras and energies.

The film has already generated strong buzz with its first glimpse, and the debut single Namo Re has turned into a chartbuster, further elevating expectations around the project. With momentum steadily building, the makers are set to roll out consistent promotional content in the coming weeks to keep the excitement high.

Australia Imposes Travel Curbs on Iranian Visitors

Share

Australia has announced a temporary restriction on the entry of certain Iranian nationals, effective March 26, 2026, as tensions in West Asia continue to escalate. The six-month measure is aimed at tightening migration controls amid concerns about visa overstays and maintaining the integrity of the country’s visa system during a period of global uncertainty.

The move follows fast-tracked legislation passed earlier this month, allowing the government to suspend arrivals from selected countries when required. Under the new rules, Iranian nationals holding Visitor (Subclass 600) visas and currently outside Australia will not be permitted to travel to the country for the duration of the order. Authorities said the decision was taken in the national interest, noting that the ongoing conflict in Iran could increase the risk of temporary visa holders overstaying or being unable to return home once their visas expire.

However, the restriction does not apply to Iranian nationals already present in Australia when the rule comes into effect. It also excludes spouses, partners, and dependent children of Australian citizens or permanent residents, as well as parents of children under 18 who are already in Australia. Individuals holding other types of visas and those issued a valid Permitted Travel Certificate are also exempt. New visa applications can still be submitted, and existing applications will continue to be processed under current rules.

In limited cases, affected travellers may still be allowed entry if they are granted a Permitted Travel Certificate, which will be assessed individually and issued only under specific circumstances through the Home Affairs portal. Authorities indicated that compassionate cases, particularly involving parents of Australian citizens, would receive special consideration. Travellers who had already begun their journey before the rule came into effect, including those transiting through a third country for less than 24 hours, are expected to be allowed entry without additional approvals.

Australia’s Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke stated that the measure was necessary in light of evolving global conditions. He pointed out that many visitor visas were issued before the current conflict and may not have been granted under today’s circumstances. He also emphasized that decisions about long-term stays in Australia should be deliberate policy choices rather than unintended outcomes of short-term travel. The government, he added, will continue to closely monitor global developments and adjust its migration settings to ensure the system remains orderly, fair, and sustainable.

Trump Claims Iran Secretly Seeking US Deal

Share

Donald Trump has claimed that Iran is quietly seeking a deal with the United States, even as it remains reluctant to acknowledge it publicly. Speaking at a House Republican dinner, Trump said sustained US pressure has pushed Tehran toward negotiations.

“They are negotiating, and they want to make a deal so badly, but they’re afraid to say it,” he remarked, suggesting that Iranian leaders fear internal backlash for openly pursuing diplomacy.

Trump also highlighted what he described as major US military successes against Iran, stating that American actions had significantly weakened Tehran’s capabilities. He pointed to strikes on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, asserting that such operations were crucial in halting its nuclear ambitions.

According to Trump, these moves prevented Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon within a short timeframe. He framed the developments as a strategic victory for the United States, emphasizing that curbing Iran’s nuclear program remains a central objective of US policy.

Overall, Trump portrayed the situation as a turning point, claiming that recent actions had reshaped the conflict and pushed Iran closer to negotiations.

Band Melam Review: Noise Without Music

Share

Story

Yadagiri (Harsh Roshan) is a carefree youngster from a Telangana village who dreams of becoming a famous musician and forming a band with his equally aimless friends. Despite lacking discipline, he strongly believes his maradalu Raji (Sridevi) will eventually marry him.

On the other hand, Raji, an engineering student, constantly urges him to take life seriously and chase his dreams with commitment. But Yadagiri refuses to change. In a sudden twist, Raji elopes, leaving him heartbroken and forcing him to face the consequences of his immaturity.

Performances

Harsh Roshan struggles to carry the film. His performance appears exaggerated and lacks the natural charm he displayed earlier. Poor writing further weakens his impact.

Sridevi Aparalla gets very limited scope. While she tries to fit into the rural setting, her character lacks depth and emotional weight.

Sai Kumar delivers a decent, routine performance. Interestingly, the actress playing Yadagiri’s mother stands out with a more convincing and heartfelt portrayal.

The supporting characters, especially Yadagiri’s friends, fail to generate humor or engagement, making several scenes feel flat.

Technical Aspects

Technically, the film offers very little to celebrate. While a few shots are visually pleasing, the overall execution feels amateurish.

The screenplay lacks structure, and the editing fails to maintain narrative flow—clearly reflecting in the film’s uneven pacing.

Music by Vijai Bulganin is a major letdown. For a film centered on a musician’s journey, the absence of memorable songs is a serious flaw.

What Works

  • A couple of passable songs
  • Some decent rural visuals

What Doesn’t

  • Weak and outdated storyline
  • Flat narration and direction
  • Poorly written characters
  • Lack of emotional depth
  • Repetitive and boring scenes

Analysis

Rural dramas have worked well in recent years when backed by strong emotions and relatable storytelling. Films like Raju Weds Rambai and Dhandoraa managed to connect despite their flaws.

However, Band Melam fails to find that emotional anchor. The biggest issue is the weak portrayal of the protagonist’s musical journey. Despite aspiring to become like A. R. Rahman, Yadagiri’s talent is never convincingly showcased.

The narrative is filled with forced humor, predictable developments, and inconsistent writing. The first half drags endlessly, while the second half offers a routine and uninspired payoff.

Overall, the film feels like a missed opportunity where neither the love story nor the musical journey leaves an impact.

Final Verdict

Band Melam is a rural drama that had potential but fails due to weak writing and lackluster execution. It neither entertains nor emotionally connects, making it a tiring watch.

Bottom Line: More noise, less music… strictly average to boring.

In a tragic accident, at least 14 people were burnt alive and 15 others injured after a private travel bus collided with a tipper truck and caught fire in Markapuram district on Thursday morning, police said.

The incident occurred near Rayavaram around 6:30 a.m., close to a stone quarry. Following the collision, both vehicles were engulfed in flames and completely gutted. At the time of the accident, around 35 passengers were traveling in the bus, which belonged to Harikrishna Travels.

Fifteen injured passengers were immediately shifted to the government hospital in Markapuram. Officials fear that the death toll could rise, as some of the injured remain in critical condition. The victims include women and children. Notably, around ten passengers managed to escape the bus moments after the fire broke out, saving their lives.

Rajamouli Adopts New Strategy for ‘Varanasi’

Share

S. S. Rajamouli has long been synonymous with perfection. His films are known for grand visuals, meticulous execution, and uncompromising quality—often resulting in delays. However, recent developments suggest that the ace director may be adopting a significant shift in his working style, and his upcoming project Varanasi with Mahesh Babu appears to be a clear example of this change.

In the past, Rajamouli’s films, including blockbusters like Baahubali and RRR, faced delays despite announced release dates. But this time, the situation seems different. Reports indicate that the shooting of Varanasi is progressing exactly as per schedule, without the usual setbacks.

What stands out is the balance between perfection and planning. Rajamouli seems to be maintaining his signature visual quality while strictly adhering to timelines. Typically, his films require extensive time for post-production, but for Varanasi, both shooting and post-production are reportedly happening simultaneously. This parallel workflow marks a new strategy in the director’s career.

The film’s fast-paced production has now become a major talking point in Tollywood. More than just a project, it reflects a shift in Rajamouli’s mindset. After monumental successes like Baahubali and RRR, this evolution could influence his future films as well.

The makers have already announced April 7, 2027, as the release date, and industry insiders believe Rajamouli is determined not to miss the deadline this time. Fans, who were once willing to wait longer for quality output, are now excited at the prospect of a timely release without compromising on excellence.

This development could serve as a signal to the entire film industry. If a filmmaker of Rajamouli’s stature adheres to strict timelines, it could naturally increase pressure on others to follow suit. If successful, this approach may bring significant changes in production planning, budget control, and release strategies across the industry.

Varanasi stars Priyanka Chopra as the female lead, with Prithviraj Sukumaran playing a key role, and music composed by M. M. Keeravani. More than just a big-budget spectacle, the film is shaping up to be the beginning of a new chapter in Rajamouli’s filmmaking journey.

RGV’s ‘Police Station Mein Booth’ Faces Long Delay

Share

Whenever Ram Gopal Varma announces a new project, it instantly grabs attention, regardless of expectations. His films may divide opinions, but they always spark conversations. Currently, Varma is working on a Bollywood film titled Police Station Mein Booth. While the project was announced long ago and even began shooting, there have been no updates for nearly a year, leaving fans wondering whether the film will ever make it to theaters.

Interestingly, this film holds special significance in Varma’s career as it reunites him with Manoj Bajpayee after almost 27 years since their iconic collaboration in Satya. Their combination once created waves in Indian cinema, and expectations are naturally high. Adding to the buzz, actors like Genelia Deshmukh and Ramya Krishnan are also part of the film, making it an interesting multi-star project. Varma is reportedly exploring a horror-comedy genre this time, adding a fresh twist to his filmmaking style.

However, since the initial announcement, there has been no clarity about the film’s progress. No promotional material has been released, and the current status of the shoot remains unknown. In recent times, Varma has been actively experimenting with AI technology in his films, and even the posters of Police Station Mein Booth faced criticism over AI usage. Reports suggest that heavy reliance on graphics and VFX could be one of the reasons behind the delay, as Varma is known for not compromising on quality.

At the same time, Varma seems more active in promoting other films than his own. Following the massive success of Dhurandhar 2, he has been praising the film’s team on social media. This has prompted fans to question him about the status of Police Station Mein Booth, urging him to provide clarity on its release.

For now, the big question remains—when will Ram Gopal Varma finally bring this long-delayed project to the audience? Only the director himself can answer that.
