Veteran Pop Singer Passes Away At 83!

In a big loss to the music world, a legendary singer-rock star who entertained music lovers for a few decades passed away at the age of 83. The veteran singer has been suffering from health issues for some time. The singer had a peaceful passing as she is said to have breathed her last at her house.

Celebrated Singer Tina Turner who needs no introduction among music lovers. She has been singing since the 60s. Though she started her career with her husband, Tina Turner started seeing bigger success as a solo artist after her divorce from her husband Ike.

Tina Turner is famous for her energetic stage performances. She brings energy to the performances that she is called Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. She started her career as a background singer in her husband’s band. Later she started seeing success along with her husband. They gave hits like Nutbush City Limits. She was born as Anna Mae Bullock. But her husband changed her name to Tina Turner.

Tina Turner’s legacy in the music industry is such that she won as many as eight Grammy Awards and she got a spot in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2021 as a solo artist in 2021. This is the second time she got the honor. A couple of decades back, she was inducted into this along with her then-husband. With age catching up, Tina Turner started developing health issues. She was diagnosed with Cancer and Turner sustained heart strike and kidney issues. At the age of 83, she passed away.

Condolence Messages are coming from various corners. United States President Joe Biden also condoled her death and said that she is once in a generation that changed American music.

“Before she was the Queen of Rock and Roll, Tina Turner was a farmer’s daughter in Tennessee. As a child, she sang in the church choir before becoming one of the most successful recording artists of all time. In addition to being a once-in-a-generation talent that changed American music forever,” the United States President said.

Roger Davies who worked as the Manager with Turner said that she has incredible energy and immense talent. Recalling her, he said that Turner had always believed in herself and she carried it over the years.

Tremendous Response For ‘2018’ Premiers!

A good cinema is being welcomed in every nook and corner of this country. If the audience like the content, they are not minding the language and it is the reason why many dubbing films have performed exceptionally well in various industries. Following this trend, a Malayalam movie which released a few weeks back created a havoc at the box office and became their biggest hit.

Now, this movie is releasing in Telugu as well and it is titled ‘2018’. The film is based on the 2018 floods which turned the Kerala state upside down. A lot of people lost their lives during that period and many lost their homes. Showing it in a very arresting manner, Jude Anthony Joseph made this movie and Tovino Thomas and Aparna Balamurali played the lead roles.

The movie was declared a blockbuster in Malayalam already and it is on its way to touch the 100 crore mark. It is getting dubbed in Telugu with the same name and ‘2018’ is hitting the screens on 26th May. The distribution rights in Telugu were bought by Bunny Vas and the premiers were shown to a few prominent personalities and media personnel.

Speaking about it Bunny Vas said that the movie will be a huge hit in Telugu as well and he is quite confident about it. He instantly liked the movie and wanted to release it in Telugu as well. Jeetu Joseph claimed that it is a very special movie in his career as he made this movie by personally knowing all the experiences of the flood victims. Producer Venu stated that ‘2018’ is based on real-life incidents.

Harish Shankar attended the premiers too and said that such movies should come more often and people always encourage movies which were based on true incidents. The trailer of this movie has already attracted the audience and the response from the premiers is also very positive.

Its Balayya Vs Ravi Teja Once Again!

‘Japan’ Intro: Karthi Gets Crazy For His Landmark 25th Film!

Tamil star hero Karthi who holds a solid fanbase in Telugu states is currently working on his landmark 25th film. It is titled ‘Japan’ and the movie is nearing completion. Wishing Karthi on his birthday an intro glimpse of his character from the movie is unveiled. The star hero will be playing the role of ‘Japan’ in the movie and his characterization is going to be very peculiar.

He is a hero, comedian, and villain for three different people. Produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu under Dream Warrior Pictures, ‘Japan’ is an out-and-out adventurous thriller directed by Raju Murugan who made ‘Japan’ before. His action is hilarious and the curly hair suited him amazingly. Karthi appeared in a different look and his fans are absolutely loving it. As announced by the makers, Japan will hit the screens for Diwali, this year.

Talented music composer GV Prakash Kumar who won the National award is working on this film while Ravi Varman is the director of photography while Anbu Ariv are the fight masters. Philomin Raj is the editor of this movie while Anu Emmanuel is the heroine. Actor Sunil will be seen in a vital role in the movie that marks the acting debut of popular cinematographer Vijay Milton. Vinesh Banglan, the National Award-winning production designer (Kammarasambhavam) is taking care of the production design for Japan.

Karthi is on a roll lately. He is doing films at a rapid pace. Most of his recent movies were successful and he is hoping that ‘Japan’ would end up becoming a hit as well.

A lot of Malayalam movies are getting dubbed in Telugu nowadays and they are getting a lot of success. One such movie from Kerala is ‘2018’ which is being released in Telugu by the Geetha Arts banner. The special premiers of this movie has been showcased to the media representatives already and a journalist posed an interesting question to producer Bunny Vas.

After watching 2018, he asked if a Telugu director and Telugu producer would take the risk of making such a daring movie. Responding to this, Harish Shankar gave an instant reply to the journalist. He said that there is nothing such as a dubbing movie or a remake movie. All that matters is that whether it is a good cinema or not for the audience. Films like ‘RRR’ and ‘Baahubali’ were made by a Telugu director.

“Nobody called that a dubbing movie and it was a huge success. When the whole world is looking towards Telugu cinema and Telugu directors, it is irrelevant to ask whether we could do it or not. Movies these days are reaching everywhere. A good cinema is being received by the audience across the states. The producers are coming forward to showcase it. If needed, more films will be remade and dubbed”, said the ‘DJ’ director.

He says that they are always trying to bring good stories to the audience and he countered that why won’t the Telugu heroes come forward if they were given these stories when a reporter asked a question regarding the stars. Harish stated that there are no boundaries these days and movies are devoid of languages. He adds that the audience need good cinema and asked why the audience are watching Hollywood cinema despite them not promoting it. Harish Shankar’s reply is getting a lot of appreciation and the video of this is currently going viral.

Ponnambalam is a veteran actor who appeared in various languages. He even acted in Hindi films. In the 90s, he was one of the popular stuntmen and villains as he acted with almost every star hero. He slowly faded away and it’s been some time since he was seen on the silver screen.

In an interview, he revealed some shocking details,including his health condition. He said that his health was not good and he even dealt with kidney ailments. The popular villain highlighted the help he received from Megastar Chiranjeevi. He said that he would have not been alive if not for Chiranjeevi’s help.

“My situation was such that I could not even afford the treatment. I called Chiranjeevi and informed him about my condition. He sent some money to my account and asked me to visit the Apollo Hospital. Even Upasana called me and said she is the wife of Ram Charan and uncle(Chiranjeevi) informed about his condition,” he said.

Adding further, Ponnambalam said that Chiranjeevi took care of everything, and Kidney transplantation was performed on him. Revealing the cost of the treatment, Ponnambalam said that it cost around Rs 58 lakhs and he is alive just because of Chiranjeevi. I would remember Chiranjeevi’s assistance for the rest of my life, he added.

Megastar Chiranjeevi is known for his helping nature. He set up an eye bank and blood bank to help those who are in need. Whenever there is any need, Chiranjeevi jumps forward to help. We have seen how Chiranjeevi handed over groceries to the poor cine workers. They were also given the Covid vaccines. Ponnambalam’s incident is another example of Chiranjeevi’s big heart.

What Would Have Happened If He Made ‘Bichagadu 2’?

The promos are not good and the publicity was not that great for ‘Bichagadu 2’. On top of that the talk on the first day was disastrous. Despite all that, Vijay Anthony’s film got good collections at the box office. This is quite interesting as this film which arrived as a sequel to the 2016 film ‘Bichagadu’ was released last Friday in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. The movie collected a gross of 10 crores in the first weekend in Telugu alone.

The collections in Tamil were more than that. The earnings from the weekdays are decent too and ‘Anni Manchi Sakunamule’ which did not earn big despite the positive talk helped ‘Bichagadu’ as well. As a matter of fact, ‘Bichagadu 2’ was very weak in terms of content but the brand of ‘Bichagadu’ worked out big time. The first film touched a lot of people and the movie lovers who laughed at the title at the beginning too fell in love with the concept which made the film a huge success.

It is amazing to see ‘Bichagadu’ perform so well despite the lack of great content. Had the second part been directed by Sashi who made the first part, some people argue that it might have been more touching. Vijay Anthony’s role in the success of ‘Bichagadu’ is quite minimal as any other actor would have delivered an equal if not better performance. The concept and emotions are the key factors for that film’s success.

Director Sashi made ‘Sollamale’ (remade as ‘Seenu’), ‘Roja Kuttam’ (dubbed as ‘Roja Puuli’ and other emotional films but ‘Bichagadu’ was his best work. Vijay Anthony paled as a director in front of Sashi. No one knows what happened between Sashi and Vijay Anthony but the musician-turned-actor decided to wear the director’s hat too. Now, one can only predict what would have happened if Sashi was the director of ‘Bichagadu 2’ as it will never become a reality.

Pawan’s Iconic ‘Tholi Prema’ Getting Re-Released At A Wrong Time?

One of the very few films which Pawan Kalyan fans regard as a cult classic is ‘Tholi Prema’. The movie is completing 25 years of its release and the freshness is still intact. The movie is still relatable to the current generation of youth as it is just a love story but also deals with topics like pure friendship, the innocence of youngsters, the brother-sister bond, and others. Director Karunakaran delivered big time and he was not able to give a better movie than ‘Tholi Prema’ till date. The songs by Deva are still in many people’s playlists. Such a movie is all set to get re-released on 30th June.

The distributor has officially announced this but the audience are already getting bored of these re-releases. ‘Khushi’ and ‘Thammudu’ performed well and fans planned ‘Gudumba Shankar’ re-release in order to donate to Janasena’s funds. Bringing ‘Tholi Prema’ in such a short gap might make even the die-hard fans to think that it is going too far. Thanks to the Twitter wars, people are even comparing the collections of re-release too these days.

Other than being a plan to exploit the emotions of fans, planning 2-3 releases per month has no other explanation. A lot of movie lovers support this argument and the ticket prizes are not being reduced at all and they are equal to new releases. One should have a practical plan and release the classics in such a way that their magic doesn’t get lost. With the 25-year anniversary arriving in July, one fails to understand why ‘Tholi Prema’ is getting released in June.
