Bhogapuram Airport Milestone Sparks Political Credit War

The successful landing of the first aircraft at Bhogapuram International Airport near Visakhapatnam marks a significant milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s infrastructure development. However, the achievement has quickly turned into a political flashpoint, with both the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) staking claim to the project’s progress and completion.
Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy asserted that crucial approvals were secured during his tenure and that nearly ₹960 crore was spent on land acquisition and rehabilitation, which, according to him, laid a strong foundation for the airport’s development. The TDP has countered these claims, stating that the Bhogapuram airport was originally conceptualised in 2015 under former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The party maintains that central clearances, land acquisition, and initial construction activities were largely completed before the change in government.
The TDP further alleged that the project witnessed limited progress for several years and gained real momentum only after the coalition government returned to power.
Amid the political back-and-forth, sources point to a decisive administrative push as a key factor behind the airport’s rapid completion. Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu, who represents the North Andhra region, is said to have taken a personal interest in the project. He reportedly monitored progress closely and ensured round-the-clock work in three shifts over the past year. This focused approach helped fast-track pending works and final fine-tuning, enabling Bhogapuram International Airport to reach this milestone in record time.
Avatar: Fire and Ash Defies Odds at the Global Box Office
![]()
One of the most ambitious and expensive ventures in global cinema, Avatar—conceptualised and executed by legendary filmmaker James Cameron—continues to find its audience with each new instalment. The latest chapter in the franchise, Avatar: Fire and Ash, released in theatres this December amid tempered expectations and mixed early reactions.
A section of the audience and trade felt that Fire and Ash was the weakest entry in the franchise so far, leading to predictions of a potential box-office underperformance. Conservative estimates even suggested that the film might struggle to cross the $1 billion mark globally—a result that would have been particularly damaging given its reported breakeven point of $1.3–1.5 billion.
However, driven by the Christmas holiday advantage and a strong hold in the domestic U.S. market, the film has steadily gained momentum and is now on track to cross the $1 billion milestone worldwide. More importantly, it appears to be moving safely towards breakeven—a noteworthy achievement considering the mixed critical reception it received upon release.
Once the film firmly enters the safe zone, there is a strong possibility that James Cameron will proceed with the next instalment of the Avatar saga, as previously planned. Despite lacking the pop-culture footprint or fan-driven hype of franchises like The Avengers, Avatar continues to draw audiences to theatres with remarkable consistency.
Ultimately, this enduring pull can be attributed to Cameron’s unparalleled visual world-building and his relentless pursuit of cinematic innovation. The Avatar franchise may not dominate cultural conversations, but its ability to command theatrical attention remains a testament to Cameron’s extraordinary vision.
Kriti Sanon’s Emotional Moment at Sister Nupur Sanon–Stebin Ben Engagement Wins Hearts

Kriti Sanon shared a deeply emotional moment at her sister Nupur Sanon’s engagement to singer Stebin Ben, and it quickly struck a chord with fans. The intimate ceremony, held ahead of the couple’s wedding in Udaipur, was a warm, close-knit affair centered around family rather than celebrity spotlight.
For Telugu audiences, Kriti is remembered for her debut opposite Mahesh Babu in 1: Nenokkadine. But at the engagement, there was no star aura—just an elder sister overwhelmed with emotion, holding Nupur tightly as tears flowed freely. The unguarded moment felt genuine and relatable, resonating widely on social media.
Both sisters began their journeys in the Telugu film industry early on. Kriti’s debut arrived with high expectations, while Nupur made her entry with Ravi Teja’s Tiger Nageswara Rao in 2023. Neither film proved to be an instant career breakthrough. While Kriti persevered through a gradual rise, Nupur chose to step back from the limelight, waiting patiently for the right opportunities.
At present, Kriti is enjoying a strong professional phase, earning attention for Tere Ishq Mein and gearing up for Cocktail 2. Nupur, though yet to sign another Telugu project, is preparing for her Hindi debut with Noorani Chehra later this year.
Yet, none of those career milestones mattered in that moment. What stood out was a proud, emotional sister witnessing a new chapter in her sibling’s life—raw, heartfelt, and beautifully human.
Parasakthi Trailer Sparks Buzz, Telugu Release Faces Uncertainty

Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film Parasakthi is gearing up for a Pongal festival release, with the makers unveiling the much-awaited trailer on Sunday evening. Directed by Sudha Kongara, the period drama promises a gritty, action-packed narrative rooted in political history, with a strong thematic focus on Hindi imposition.
While the Tamil trailer has generated significant buzz, the absence of a Telugu version has raised eyebrows. This is particularly surprising given that the film stars popular Tollywood actress Sree Leela as the female lead and considering Sivakarthikeyan’s growing market in the Telugu states.
Earlier reports suggested that Parasakthi would release simultaneously in Telugu, despite stiff competition during the crowded Sankranti season. The team had also released promotional material in Telugu to build anticipation among audiences in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. However, the sudden silence over the past few days has sparked speculation about a possible change in strategy.
Industry circles suggest that the jam-packed festive lineup in Tollywood may have prompted the makers to reconsider a Telugu release during Sankranti. With most screens expected to be dominated by straight Telugu releases, and the remaining ones likely to be taken by Vijay’s Jana Nayakudu, securing adequate screen space for a dubbed film could be challenging.
As a result, Parasakthi may opt for a delayed Telugu release after the Sankranti festival. However, even in Tamil Nadu, the film faces formidable competition from Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth. The Vijay starrer is riding massive hype, further amplified by the fact that it marks the actor’s final on-screen appearance.
Whether Parasakthi can carve out its own space amid these high-stakes releases remains to be seen, but the trailer has certainly set the stage for an intense political drama this festive season.
Nayanthara Likely Out of Balakrishna’s NBK 111 Amid Budget Talks

Finding suitable lead actresses for senior stars like Nandamuri Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi has become increasingly challenging, with limited options that balance screen presence, market value, and budget viability. Among the few actresses who fit this bracket, Nayanthara has long been considered a reliable choice. However, the latest buzz suggests that the makers of Balakrishna’s upcoming film NBK 111 may be rethinking their casting decision.
The project, which has been in the planning stages for some time, is reportedly undergoing a strategic reassessment. Industry sources indicate that while Nayanthara was initially signed on as the female lead—creating strong excitement among fans—her remuneration has now emerged as a key concern. With production costs steadily rising and market dynamics shifting, the makers are said to be exploring more cost-effective alternatives.
According to reports, the team is looking at actresses who command lower fees but can still deliver strong screen presence and suit the film’s narrative requirements. The goal is to keep the budget under control without compromising the overall appeal of the project.
NBK 111 is currently in the script refinement and pre-production phase, with shooting expected to commence in the coming months. The makers are aiming for a tightly managed schedule and are eyeing a festive release, provided all elements fall into place smoothly.
Meanwhile, Nayanthara is awaiting the release of her upcoming film with Chiranjeevi. Interestingly, reports suggest that she may now be sidelined from Balakrishna’s project, marking a notable shift in the film’s casting plans.
