Fans of superstar Mahesh Babu are eagerly waiting to see Trivikram Srinivas’s film. The shooting started last month and the team completed a schedule already but the second schedule got delayed due to the untimely demise of Mahesh Babu’s mother. The star hero flew abroad to spend time with his family and it looks like he pulled himself back together now.

Recently, Naga Vamsi took to Twitter and stated that the second schedule will be beginning soon. He added that many more exciting updates will be unveiled in the upcoming days. As per the latest reports, Trivikram is under a lot of pressure right now as he is yet to give a bound script for Mahesh. After a few disasters, Mahesh is making sure that he listens to the script completely before going forward. As Trivikram is a good friend and one of the top directors, he started the film but wants to listen to the complete script now as per reports.

Grapevine suggests that the production may get postponed if the star hero suggests a few changes in the script after Trivikram narrates it. So, it is up to Trivikram now and he has to narrate a perfect script so that the shooting goes on as planned and the movie gets released on 28th April 2023 as announced.

Trivikram is known for his entertaining family movies with a bit of action. Barring a few exceptions like ‘Aravinda Sametha’, most of his movies in the last decade were family oriented. But the team of #SSMB28 is stressing the ‘Action’ part in every tweet and update. Words like ‘High-Octane Action Entertainer’ and ‘Action Extravaganza’ are used a lot which suggests that Trivikram is moving away from his comfort zone and planning something big for Mahesh.

PS Vinod will be cranking the camera while Naveen Nooli is the editor. AS Prakash is the art director. Thaman is the music composer. Pooja Hegde is the heroine in this project and people are eager to listen to Thaman’s songs especially after delivering blockbuster albums for Trivikram in the form of ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo’ and ‘Aravinda Sametha’. Mahesh and Trivikram delivered classics like ‘Athadu’ and ‘Khaleja’ previously.

Janhvi Kapoor is busily promoting her upcoming ‘Mili’ which is coming out on November 4th. She flew down from Mumbai to Hyderabad in order to speak with the press and talk about her movie. But most of the questions were about her Tollywood debut. While Janhvi is used to handling the press in North who mostly pose questions about their looks and relationships, she found it a bit difficult to answer the Telugu media.

She was constantly asked about rejecting big offers in Telugu. Janhvi was unable to answer a few of them and stumbled a bit. Immediately, her dad Boney Kapoor took over and did his best to avert those questions by using his experience in moving away from the topic.

However, Janhvi stated that she wants to work with NTR in the coming days. As we all know, a lot of Telugu offers came her way before her debut but the star producer and late Sridevi rejected them. They wanted Janhvi to make it big in Bollywood. But the youngster is unable to score a good hit and is trying to stay relevant with the help of her glamorous looks. On the other hand, South Indian movies are attracting North audiences nowadays and they are getting huge collections in recent times.

After making waves across the country with ‘Arjun Reddy’, young sensation Vijay Deverakonda decided to expand his market by making his debut in Bollywood too. He teamed up with Puri Jagannadh and came up with ‘Liger’. Billed as a stylish action entertainer, the film met with a disastrous result and Puri is still stuck with the issues regarding its losses. Vijay’s pan-Indian dreams got shattered and he stayed away from the public eye for quite some time before getting busy with work again.

Despite the nightmarish result, Vijay still has a lot of craze in North and it is the reason why he is still able to attract big production houses. As we know, he is currently working on ‘Khushi’ which is a romantic entertainer. ‘Ninnu Kori’ and ‘Majili’ fame Shiva Nirvana is the director of this movie while Samantha Ruth Prabhu is the heroine. Due to Sam’s health issues, the shooting has been postponed for now and there are reports that he will be making a movie with ‘Jersey’ director Gautham Thinnanuri under Dil Raju’s banner. The official news regarding this project is yet to be revealed.

There are reports that Karan Johar is still interested in making a movie with Deverakonda and he is reportedly arranging a meeting with a popular director soon. Vijay is expected to take a call about it soon. Also, SRK’s banner Red Chillies Entertainment are interested in making a movie with Vijay too. They are in search of a good romantic comedy. We need to wait and see if Vijay manages to score a hit in Bollywood any time soon or focus only on South cinema for a couple of years. The youngster is in need of a hit immediately since his last three outings were disasters. The failure of ‘Liger’ already damaged his image and his market will take a severe beating if his upcoming project fails too.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Godfather was released with good hype and it also received good reviews. But the reviews did not translate into collections. The box office numbers were not that great in some areas. Despite having a festival release the Megastar starrer could not make the best out of it.

The Nizam area has been one of the strong zones of Megastar Chiranjeevi for a very long time. In the strong zone too Godfather failed to create a big impact. Compared to other big films, the Megastar starrer’s collections are not that great which is a big shock. Even the Mega fans could not believe that Godfather had not to so good performance at the box office.

On the other hand, the Kannada film Kantara set the box office on fire with good collections. Despite being a dubbed film the action thriller attracted good numbers and it is said that the film already collected Rs 11 crores in the Nizam area as per the trade experts

Content is the king they say and Kantara proved it yet again. It started as small in Kannada and took over the box office across the languages. Not just the Telugu language, Kantara attracted good collections in the northern belt too.

DSP booked for hurting sentiments of Hindus

Popular music director Devi Sri Prasad has landed in a controversy after his latest musical ‘O pari’ didn’t go well with a section of people. A month ago, the musician released an over four-minute video song on YouTube and it got over 20 million views already.

However, film actress Karate Kalyani has filed a complaint against DSP for using devotional chants in the song, which had women dancing in obscene clothing.

KVM Prasad ACP Cybercrimes said a case has been filed against DSP under section 153A of the IPC for hurting the sentiments of the Hindu community. Apart from lodging a complaint, Kalyani also demanded an unconditional apology from the musician.

Inside Talk: Over budget for Samantha’s film?

Samantha is one of the few lady superstars in Telugu cinema. But she too has a market cap, much like any senior heroine in the industry.

Incidentally, Gunasekhar is said to have overplayed the budget card for his film with Samantha, Sahkuntalam.

It was initially decided that Shakuntalam should be made on a budget of Rs 60 crores. But due to the delay in production and the additional VFX job, the budget shot up steeply.

The overall budget of Shakuntalam is said to have touched Rs 75 crores now, which is way too high for a Samantha starrer.

The director is now hoping that Sam’s immediate next film, Yashoda will turn out to be hit and lay a platform for her next film, Shakuntalam.
