No Sequel for Adhurs, Says Director V. V. Vinayak

Share

Amid the ongoing trend of sequels in Telugu cinema, with films like Kalki 2898 AD and Salaar 2 generating buzz, there has been considerable speculation about a follow-up to the comedy blockbuster Adhurs. The 2010 film, starring N. T. Rama Rao Jr. in a dual role, continues to enjoy a strong fan following. Writer Kona Venkat had earlier expressed enthusiasm for a sequel, even joking that he would stage a dharna outside NTR’s residence to convince him. He hinted that despite NTR’s busy schedule with multiple projects, the actor might consider returning—raising hopes among Nandamuri fans.

Adhurs remains memorable, particularly for Jr NTR’s impeccable comic timing as a Brahmin priest, alongside his intense performance in the parallel character. The film was a major box-office success and continues to enjoy strong repeat value, with Brahmanandam’s comedy being a major highlight.

However, director V. V. Vinayak has now put an end to the speculation. Speaking at the Band Melam event, he clarified that the story of Adhurs had already reached its natural conclusion and there is no scope for a sequel. He added that even if a sequel were made forcefully, it would be difficult to recreate the same magic, suggesting that it is best to leave the film as it stands. Vinayak’s comments contrast with Kona Venkat’s earlier optimism and may resonate with fans who believe classics should remain untouched.

With blockbuster appearances in films like KGF: Chapter 2, Jawan, and Dhurandhar, Dutt has already been part of multiple ₹1000 crore successes, reinforcing his strong box office pull.

What sets him apart is his commanding screen presence and raw energy, which consistently elevate the characters he portrays. Filmmakers continue to rely on his ability to bring depth and intensity to negative roles, making him a preferred choice for high-profile projects.

Dutt’s popularity is not limited to Bollywood. He is also active in South Indian films, where he has been offered significant roles. While not all projects have succeeded commercially—such as his recent outing in The RajaSaab—his individual performance continues to draw attention.

This year, audiences can expect him in even more action-packed performances.

In a major relief for thousands of underprivileged families, the long-standing issues faced by the Rural Development Trust (RDT) have finally been resolved. Nara Lokesh played a key role in ensuring that the organization can continue its services without disruption.

RDT has served as a lifeline for many poor communities for decades, providing education to children who cannot afford schooling, healthcare for those with limited access, and livelihood opportunities for rural families. For many, it is not just an organization but a source of hope and survival.

The trust recently faced a major setback when foreign funding was halted under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act, creating uncertainty around the continuation of its services. RDT representative Mancho Ferrer brought the issue to Lokesh’s attention. Responding promptly, Lokesh took the matter to central authorities, and after discussions at multiple levels, the restrictions were lifted, allowing funds to flow again.

Following the resolution, Ferrer personally thanked Lokesh, noting that gratitude came not just from the organization but from the countless people whose lives have been touched by RDT. Lokesh, in turn, appreciated the trust’s decades-long dedication to improving lives through education, healthcare, and skill development.

With funding restored, RDT can now continue its mission, bringing relief and renewed hope to thousands of families across the region.

US and Iran Explore Talks to End Conflict

Share

The ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran have triggered global uncertainty, with rising concerns over oil and gas supply disruptions impacting markets, including in the Indian subcontinent.

Amid the escalating situation, recent developments suggest that both sides may be open to negotiations to ease tensions and avoid further conflict. Reports indicate that Iran has put forward several demands, including the closure of US bases in the Gulf, removal of sanctions, and an end to military actions involving Hezbollah. It has also reportedly sought a framework to collect transit fees from ships passing through the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz.

On the other side, the United States is said to be exploring diplomatic channels, with JD Vance reportedly engaging in efforts to facilitate dialogue. Pakistan has expressed willingness to act as a mediator in the conflict, indicating openness to supporting peace talks.

At the same time, reports of potential military escalation, including preparations for a possible ground operation, have added to global anxiety. However, a successful diplomatic breakthrough could help prevent further damage and stabilize the situation.

For now, the world is closely watching whether dialogue will prevail over confrontation in resolving this high-stakes conflict.

Revanth Reddy Opposes 50% Seat Expansion Plan

Share

A. Revanth Reddy has expressed strong reservations over the Centre’s reported proposal to increase the number of Assembly and Lok Sabha seats by a flat 50% across the country, instead of basing the expansion on population.

Speaking at a media conclave, he cautioned that such a move could weaken the political voice of southern states in national politics. He stressed that the proposal should not be treated as a routine administrative exercise, as it carries significant implications for the federal balance between North and South India.

Revanth Reddy argued that any increase in seats must ensure that the existing gap in parliamentary representation between northern and southern states does not widen further. He pointed out that southern states, which have performed better in areas like population control, education, and governance, could be unfairly disadvantaged if representation is determined purely by population.

He warned that even a population-based increase could reduce the political influence of the South, calling the proposed 50% hike a “final bullet” that could permanently alter the balance of power. According to him, there may come a time when governments at the Centre could be formed without significant support from southern states.

The Chief Minister emphasized that such a scenario would have serious consequences for national politics and the role of southern leaders in the Union government. He urged southern states to unite and prepare for a coordinated political response on the delimitation issue.

Revanth Reddy also called for extensive consultations with all stakeholders before implementing any changes, insisting that a broad national consensus is essential. He indicated that he would take the issue to the public and raise awareness during upcoming election campaigns, describing it as a major democratic concern.

Trump Says Iran Gave ‘Big Present’ During Talks

Share

Donald Trump said that Iran had given the United States a “very big present,” describing it as a valuable oil- and gas-related concession linked to strategic routes, including the Strait of Hormuz.

Speaking to reporters at the Oval Office, Trump stated that while the development was not related to nuclear issues, Iran had agreed it would never possess nuclear weapons. He described the move as a positive signal, indicating that the US is “dealing with the right people” in ongoing discussions.

Trump reiterated that negotiations are underway, involving key members of his team such as JD Vance, Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner. He maintained that Iran is eager to reach a deal despite public denials from Tehran.

He also claimed that Iran’s leadership has significantly changed following recent developments, referring to it as a form of “regime change.”

Commenting on the broader situation, Trump described recent US military actions as a “tremendous success,” asserting that key Iranian capabilities—including nuclear infrastructure, naval assets, and radar systems—had been severely weakened.

At the same time, remarks from Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth suggested a continued hardline stance, highlighting the dual approach of military pressure alongside diplomatic negotiations.

Anthropic Challenges Pentagon Ban on Claude AI

Share

Anthropic has approached a San Francisco federal court seeking to pause the Pentagon’s “supply chain risk” label imposed on its AI tool, Claude. The case, heard by Judge Rita Lin, focuses on the company’s blacklisting and a directive linked to Donald Trump that restricts federal agencies from using its artificial intelligence services.

According to reports, the judge remarked that the Pentagon’s move to blacklist Claude AI “looks like an attempt to cripple” the company. In response, Anthropic has requested an emergency order to temporarily halt both the risk label and the ban. The company has also filed a parallel case in a federal appeals court in Washington, DC.

Judge Lin clarified that while the Department of Defense is free to stop using Claude and choose another vendor, the core issue is whether the government’s actions violated the law. The court is expected to deliver its decision on Anthropic’s request in the coming days.

If the temporary relief is granted, Anthropic will be able to continue working with government agencies and contractors while the case proceeds. However, if the request is denied, the company could face significant financial losses and reputational damage.

Anthropic has argued that the Department of Defense’s actions amount to unfair retaliation, stating that it declined to support the use of its AI for autonomous weapons or large-scale surveillance. The company has also challenged the “supply chain risk” label as “unprecedented and unlawful,” claiming it is already impacting its business.

Apple Unveils All-in-One ‘Apple Business’ Platform

Share

Apple Inc. has introduced a new all-in-one enterprise platform called Apple Business, bringing together its business and enterprise tools into a single, streamlined interface. The platform is designed to help organizations manage devices, connect with customers, and handle day-to-day operations more efficiently.

One of the most significant updates is that mobile device management, which was previously a paid feature under Apple Business Essentials, will now be available for free in more than 200 countries. This move is expected to benefit a large number of small and medium businesses already using Apple’s ecosystem.

Earlier, Apple offered multiple business tools such as Apple Business Manager, Apple Business Essentials, and Apple Business Connect, each serving different purposes like app deployment, device management, and brand presence. With Apple Business, all these services are now merged into a single unified platform. Existing user data will be automatically migrated, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition.

The platform includes built-in device management, allowing organizations to monitor and control their Apple devices from one place. It also introduces “Blueprints,” which enable preconfigured device setups with apps and settings, making zero-touch deployment possible so that employees can start using devices right out of the box. Additionally, Business Essentials users will no longer be charged monthly fees after April 14.

Apple Business also integrates email, calendar, and directory services with support for custom domain names. Businesses can use features like calendar delegation, scheduling tools, and personalized contact cards within a built-in company directory.

In terms of brand and location management, the platform allows businesses to manage their presence across Apple services like Maps and Wallet. Companies can customize their listings with photos, business hours, and location details, and even add actions such as ordering or reservations. Branding will also be visible in Mail and on tracked orders in Wallet.

Apple is also planning to introduce ads in Maps starting this summer in the US and Canada, enabling businesses to promote themselves directly within search results.

The Apple Business companion app, along with its email, calendar, and directory features, will be compatible with iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS 26, offering a comprehensive and unified solution for enterprises.
