After delivering content-rich hits like Little Hearts and Raju Weds Rambai, blockbuster producers Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati are gearing up for their next venture – the spine-chilling horror film Eesha. The movie stars Thrigun and Hebah Patel in the lead roles, with Akhil Raj (of Raju Weds Rambai fame) and Siri Hanmanth in pivotal parts. Prithveeraj, known for his performance in Animal, also plays a significant role.

The makers recently unveiled a brand-new promo titled “Eesha Warning”, which instantly grabbed attention with its haunting visuals. With RR Dhruvan’s eerie background score and sharp, breathtaking cuts, the teaser sets a chilling tone, giving viewers a glimpse of a cursed land filled with suspense and dread.

The promo hints at the terrifying experiences of four youngsters who find themselves trapped in an ominous place. Portrayed by the lead actors, the friends face unsettling paranormal events inside a mysterious, spirit-haunted house, amplifying the horror experience. The visuals, combined with pulse-pounding sequences and classic horror elements, promise a nerve-racking theatrical experience for audiences.

Produced by Pothula Hema Venkateswara Rao under the HVR Productions banner, the film boasts a technical team featuring Santosh Sanamoni (cinematography), RR Dhruvan (music), and Vinai (editing). Eesha is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on December 12, 2025, under the banners of Bunny Vas Works and Vamsi Nandipati Entertainments, promising to be one of the most anticipated horror experiences of the year.

Mohanlal’s Vrusshabha Telugu Trailer Out, Film Set for December 25 Release

Share

The Telugu trailer of Vrusshabha, starring Mohanlal, has been unveiled and has already generated strong buzz among cinema audiences. Slated for a grand theatrical release on December 25, 2025, the film will be distributed across the Telugu states by Geetha Film Distributors, a banner known for backing several major blockbusters.

Written and directed by Nanda Kishore, Vrusshabha is a large-scale period action drama. The trailer introduces Mohanlal as a man haunted by intense and violent dreams, prompting a doctor to suggest that some memories go beyond the human mind’s understanding. The narrative soon reveals a compelling twist — Mohanlal was once King Vijayendra Vrusshabha in a previous life, and a bitter rivalry has continued across generations.

Built around themes of reincarnation and destiny, the story explores how enemies relentlessly pursue the same bloodline through time. A powerful emotional layer is added through a strong father-son relationship, with the son emerging as his father’s ultimate protector. The film seamlessly shifts between an ancient royal kingdom and the present day, blending elements of love, revenge, and fate.

Alongside Mohanlal, the film features Samarjit Lankesh, Ragini Dwivedi, Nayan Sarika, Ajay, Neha Saxena, Garuda Ram, Vinay Varma, Ali, Ayyappa P Sharma, Kishore, and several others in pivotal roles. The music is composed by Sam CS, while sound design is handled by Oscar-winning technician Resul Pookutty. Dialogues are penned by SRK, Janardhan Maharshi, and Karthik, with high-octane action sequences choreographed by Peter Hein, Stunt Silva, and Nikhil.

Presented by Connekkt Media and Balaji Telefilms Limited in association with Abishek S Vyas Studios, Vrusshabha is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and a team of seasoned producers. With its grand visuals, emotional depth, and a compelling father-son bond at its core, the film promises a visually spectacular and emotionally driven cinematic experience.

Parasakthi’s Preponed Release Creates Hurdle for The Raja Saab During Sankranthi

Share

Despite multiple films lining up for release every Sankranthi season, uncertainty over release dates often continues until the very last moment. This year is no different, with seven films, including dubbed releases, confirmed for the festive window. Among them, Parasakthi has drawn attention after its makers decided to prepone the release by a few days, a move that could pose a minor challenge for Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, particularly in the Tamil Nadu market.

Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by Sudha Kongara, marks the filmmaker’s return to Tamil cinema following the widely acclaimed Soorarai Pottru. Reportedly centered around the theme of anti-Hindi imposition, the film also features Sreeleela, Jayam Ravi, and Atharva in key roles. While the film was originally slated for a January 14 release, the makers are now planning to advance it to January 10, mainly due to limited screen availability in overseas territories.

On the other hand, The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, has been announced for a January 9 release in all languages except Tamil. In Tamil Nadu, the release was planned for January 10 to avoid a clash with Jana Nayagan, which is scheduled to arrive on January 9. The makers were aiming for a solo release in key markets, especially in Tamil Nadu.

With Parasakthi now almost certain to hit screens on January 10, The Raja Saab may find it difficult to secure an uncontested release date in Tamil Nadu. Notably, while five Telugu films are releasing during Sankranthi, The Raja Saab is the only one opting for a Tamil release as well. It remains to be seen whether the makers will stick to the January 10 Tamil release or prepone it to January 9 to align with the film’s release in other languages.

At present, the Sankranthi release schedule in the Telugu states is spread across several dates, with major films arriving between January 9 and January 15. Meanwhile, the Pongal lineup in Tamil Nadu includes Jana Nayagan on January 9, followed by Parasakthi and The Raja Saab on January 10. With nearly seven films arriving within a compact festive window, attention will be firmly on box-office performance and screen allocation, especially in the Telugu states, where exhibitors face the challenge of managing multiple releases without major disruptions.

Supreme Court Upholds Stay on Karthi’s Vaa Vaathiyaar Release

Share

Karthi’s much-anticipated film Vaa Vaathiyaar, also titled Annagaru Vostaru, continues to be mired in uncertainty after the Supreme Court refused to lift the stay on its theatrical release. The verdict has further complicated the film’s prospects, which was earlier expected to hit theatres in December.

Directed by Nalan Kumarasamy and produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the Studio Green banner, the film was originally scheduled for release on December 12. However, the plans were abruptly halted when the Madras High Court issued an interim stay, preventing the film from releasing.

The legal roadblock stems from a financial dispute involving producer KE Gnanavel Raja and businessman K Arjunlal Sunderdas, who has since been declared insolvent. A court-appointed administrator handling Sunderdas’ assets approached the Madras High Court, seeking a ban on the film’s release until the outstanding loan amount with interest was cleared. Accepting the plea, the High Court directed the producer to settle dues amounting to approximately ₹21.78 crore and ordered that the film should not be released until the payment was made.

In response, Studio Green moved the Supreme Court, challenging the High Court’s directive. However, a bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kumar dismissed the appeal, stating that it was not inclined to interfere with the earlier order. Consequently, the stay on Vaa Vaathiyaar remains in effect. Meanwhile, the Madras High Court has reserved its final order until December 27.

Earlier, there were reports that the makers were exploring December 24 as a possible release date, coinciding with the death anniversary of legendary actor and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MG Ramachandran. Following the Supreme Court’s decision, a December release now appears highly unlikely.

Vaa Vaathiyaar marks the first collaboration between Karthi and Nalan Kumarasamy, best known for acclaimed films like Soodhu Kavvum and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum. The film features Krithi Shetty as the female lead, with Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, Anandaraj, Karunakaran, and others in pivotal roles. Music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.

With the legal issues still unresolved, the film’s release remains indefinitely on hold, leaving fans awaiting further clarity.

Dhandoraa Trailer: Rural Telangana Drama

Share

The makers of Dhandoraa have released the film’s trailer, offering a gripping glimpse into a rural Telangana drama that explores caste, dignity, and human conscience at its core.

Produced by Ravindra Banerjee Muppaneni and directed by Muralikant, the trailer opens with a striking scene of a dead body being carried across villages, immediately setting a somber tone. The narrative skillfully blends everyday rural life and native humor with a simmering tension that gradually escalates.

As the trailer progresses, discussions around cremation intensify into open confrontations, culminating in a powerful courtroom sequence where Shivaji delivers a line that captures the film’s central conflict with chilling restraint.

Backed by strong pre-release traction and growing confidence within trade circles, Dhandoraa has secured wide distribution across multiple territories. The film is set for early overseas premieres beginning December 23, 2025, ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on December 25, 2025.

Positioned as a bold and socially resonant year-end release, Dhandoraa aims to spark discussion and reflection among audiences across regions.

Gurram Paapi Reddy Review: Stretched Dark Comedy with Limited Laughs

Share

Comedy films have been witnessing a steady comeback at the box office, and Gurram Paapi Reddy generated curiosity largely for this reason. Adding to the buzz is Jathi Ratnalu fame Faria Abdullah, whose energetic promotions further amplified expectations. The crucial question, however, is whether the film manages to sustain its humour throughout.

Story

Gurram Paapi Reddy (Naresh Agastya) and Soudamani (Faria Abdullah) rope in three quirky individuals—Military, Chilipi, and Goyyi—to dig up a buried body. As the mission progresses, Gurram reveals that the act is part of a carefully planned revenge against two wealthy brothers belonging to a royal lineage who had wronged him and Soudamani in the past. His ultimate aim is to extract a huge sum from them.

But is Gurram telling the whole truth, or does he have a hidden agenda? Does the plan unfold as expected?

Performances

Naresh Agastya once again showcases his versatility with a restrained yet effective performance. As Gurram Paapi Reddy, he smartly allows the narrative and supporting cast to shine when needed, which works in the film’s favour.

Faria Abdullah breaks away from the conventional heroine mould. With no forced romantic angle, she gets a meaningful character arc and handles it with confidence.

Brahmanandam appears in an extended role as a judge, a refreshing shift from his brief yet impactful outing in Jathi Ratnalu. Yogi Babu, Rajkumar Kasireddy, Vamshidhar Kosgi, and Jeevan Kumar add occasional comic moments, though their impact remains inconsistent.

Technical Aspects

The film’s limited budget reflects in its production values. Cinematography and music serve the purpose but do not stand out. Editing is a major drawback, as several sequences feel unnecessarily stretched.

Highlights

  • Interesting core premise
  • Interval twist
  • A handful of effective jokes

Drawbacks

  • Dragged narration
  • Repetitive humour
  • Limited entertainment quotient
  • Lack of sharp editing

Analysis

Gurram Paapi Reddy begins on a promising note and delivers genuine laughs in its early portions. The grave-digging episodes set in Srisailam and the subsequent reburial in Hyderabad are cleverly staged, establishing the film as a quirky dark comedy without revealing too much upfront.

However, after laying this engaging foundation, the narrative loses momentum. Several pre-interval stretches feel directionless, with repetitive comic bits—especially involving Rajkumar Kasireddy and Vamshidhar Kosgi—gradually wearing thin. The humour overstays its welcome, leading to viewer fatigue.

Just when the film appears to be running out of steam, a smart interval reveal injects freshness and intrigue. This twist single-handedly salvages the first half, which otherwise tests patience due to prolonged sequences.

The second half fares marginally better. Comedy involving Metta Rajender—revealed as a man with multiple sons—offers a few laughs. The confusion surrounding the DNA test involving Jeevan Kumar and Yogi Babu’s Recheekati provides some amusement but lacks consistency.

At its core, Gurram Paapi Reddy aspires to be a dark humour thriller. Unfortunately, it struggles to decide whether to fully embrace its thriller elements or lean decisively into comedy. This tonal confusion results in uneven storytelling. While the final twist and sequel hint are reasonably effective, the film would have benefited from a sharper focus on comedy with tighter, well-spaced humour.

Bottom Line

Despite an interesting premise and a few well-executed comic moments, Gurram Paapi Reddy falls short due to stretched narration, repetitive sequences, and uneven pacing. An idea with potential ultimately ends up diluted.

Pongal Box Office Clash: Vijay vs Sivakarthikeyan

Share

Just as the Sankranthi season is considered the most lucrative and fiercely competitive period for Telugu cinema, the Pongal season holds equal significance for Tamil cinema. With family audiences flocking to theatres in large numbers during the festive holidays, the first two weeks of January are always prime release windows for big Tamil films.

This Pongal season is shaping up to be particularly interesting, with two major Tamil films lining up for release. One is Jana Nayagan, starring Thalapathy Vijay, while the other is Parasakthi, featuring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead. Vijay’s film has already been officially locked for a January 9 release. Meanwhile, Parasakthi, which was earlier scheduled to release on January 14, is now reportedly being preponed to January 10—placing it in direct competition with Jana Nayagan.

This sudden change in release date has sparked intense discussions on social media, especially among Vijay’s fan base. Some fans allege that external factors may be influencing the decision, pointing to the producer of Parasakthi and his perceived political affiliations. According to these speculations, the strategy is to release Parasakthi close to Vijay’s film in an attempt to dent the box-office prospects of Jana Nayagan, which is being touted as Vijay’s farewell film before his full-fledged political entry.

While Jana Nayagan may appear stronger on paper due to Vijay’s massive fan following, Sivakarthikeyan is not an actor who can be underestimated. Moreover, Parasakthi reportedly carries cultural and ideological undertones linked to the anti-Hindi movement—an emotionally charged and historically significant sentiment in Tamil Nadu. Some voices on social media suggest that this could be one of the reasons the makers are confident about positioning the film against Vijay’s release.

At the same time, clashing with a film like Jana Nayagan, especially one being promoted as Thalapathy Vijay’s cinematic farewell, also carries risks. The coming Pongal season is thus set to witness a high-stakes box-office battle, where cinema, sentiment, and speculation intersect in a big way.

Pawan Kalyan’s One-on-One Meetings Signal Political Reform in Jana Sena

Share

From the very beginning of his political journey, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has consistently emphasized the need for reformative changes in politics. After achieving a remarkable 100 percent success rate in the 2024 elections, he now appears determined to translate his words into action.

As part of this reform-driven approach, Pawan Kalyan has initiated a rare and highly focused review process within the Jana Sena Party. Instead of conducting routine group meetings, he has begun holding one-on-one, face-to-face interactions with every single Jana Sena MLA. These meetings are taking place at the party headquarters in Mangalagiri and are designed to ensure direct accountability and transparent communication.

The process began today, with Pawan Kalyan already meeting nine Jana Sena MLAs. During these sessions, a wide range of issues were discussed in depth, including constituency performance, public feedback, governance challenges, and future priorities. Reports suggest that these meetings are not one-sided briefings but meaningful conversations, where MLAs are encouraged to share ground-level realities and express their concerns openly.

In addition to providing key intelligence reports and feedback, Pawan Kalyan is said to be carefully assessing the responses and working styles of his MLAs. Sources indicate that he has also expressed dissatisfaction with certain representatives and has clearly communicated expectations, offering guidance and corrective advice where necessary.

Unlike traditional political reviews where leaders address MLAs in large groups—often allowing some to escape scrutiny—this individual interaction model ensures that every MLA is directly accountable. With plans to complete meetings with all 21 Jana Sena MLAs in a short span, there is no room for complacency.

This approach is being viewed as a significant internal reform, not only strengthening Jana Sena Party’s public image but also reinforcing discipline and effectiveness within the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh. Pawan Kalyan’s hands-on leadership style is sending a clear message: performance, accountability, and public trust are non-negotiable.

Rushikonda Palace Controversy Deepens for YS Jagan

Share

Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy appears to have realised the political damage caused by the controversial Rushikonda Palace constructed in Visakhapatnam. The project has attracted intense criticism over alleged misuse of power and large-scale wastage of public funds, significantly denting his public image.

In what is being seen as an attempt at damage control, Jagan recently claimed before the media that the palace was built at a cost of just ₹240 crore. He even went on to say that the facility is grand enough to host dignitaries like Prime Minister Narendra Modi or even the Russian President. However, this claim has immediately come under scrutiny.

According to a newspaper report published by a reputed media house, the actual expenditure incurred by the Jagan government on the Rushikonda Palace was around ₹453 crore—nearly double the amount he mentioned. The report further states that existing Haritha Resorts, which were generating an annual revenue of approximately ₹7 crore, were demolished to make way for the palace. In total, around 20 acres of land were cleared, with the palace itself spanning about 9 acres.

The report also alleges that funds were diverted from the horticulture and tourism departments to finance the construction. With official records and expenditure details reportedly available on paper, Jagan’s revised claim about the project cost has failed to convince critics.

Reacting to the issue, a senior TDP leader remarked that instead of changing figures and making questionable statements in public, Jagan should acknowledge the extent of the damage caused and offer an apology. The controversy surrounding the Rushikonda Palace continues to fuel political debate, with opposition parties citing it as a prime example of alleged abuse of power and misuse of public money.
