‘సలార్’ మాస్.. ఓటీటీ రైట్స్ కే అంతనా?
యంగ్ రెబల్ స్టార్ ప్రభాస్ హీరోగా కేజీఎఫ్ దర్శకుడు ప్రశాంత్ నీల్ దర్శకత్వంలో రూపొందుతున్న సలార్ సినిమా కు ఉన్న బజ్ అంతా ఇంతా కాదు. కేజీఎఫ్ మొదటి పార్ట్ తో పాన్ ఇండియా స్టార్ డైరెక్టర్ గా పేరు దక్కించుకున్న ప్రశాంత్ నీల్ కేజీఎఫ్ 2 ను అంతకు మించి తెరకెక్కించినట్లు టీజర్ తోనే చెప్పకనే చెప్పాడు. కేజీఎఫ్ 2 టీజర్ చూసిన తర్వాత సలార్ ఏ రేంజ్ లో ఉంటుందో ఊహించుకుంటూ అభిమానులు అంచనాలు పెంచుకుంటున్నారు. కేజీఎఫ్ 2 సినిమా విడుదల అయిన తర్వాత సలార్ స్థాయి మరింతగా పెరిగినా ఆశ్చర్యం లేదు. ప్రభాస్ ప్రస్తుతం పాన్ ఇండియా సూపర్ స్టార్. ఆయన తో కేజీఎఫ్ వంటి భారీ యాక్షన్ సినిమాను తీసిన దర్శకుడి సినిమా అంటే ఖచ్చితంగా ఆకాశమే హద్దు అన్నట్లుగా అంచనాలు ఉంటాయి. అంచనాలకు ఏమాత్రం తగ్గకుండా ఈ సినిమాను మేకర్స్ తెరకెక్కిస్తున్నారు.
సలార్ సినిమా పై ఉన్న బజ్ నేపథ్యంలో ప్రీ రిలీజ్ బిజినెస్ రికార్డు నెలకొల్పే అవకాశాలు కనిపిస్తున్నాయి. సినిమా విడుదలకు ఇంకా సమయం ఉంది కనుక థియేట్రికల్ రైట్స్ బిజినెస్ మొదలు కాలేదు. కాని ఈ సినిమా ఓటీటీ హక్కులను కొనుగోలు చేసేందుకు పలు ప్రముఖ ఓటీటీ లు పోటీ పడుతున్నాయి. ముఖ్యంగా మూడు ఓటీటీలు వందల కోట్ల ఆఫర్ ను సలార్ మేకర్స్ కు ఇస్తున్నట్లుగా తెలుస్తోంది. అన్ని భాషల్లో కూడా సలార్ కు విపరీతమైన బజ్ ఉంది. కనుక తెలుగు.. తమిళం.. కన్నడం.. మలయాళం మరియు హిందీ భాషలతో పాటు ఇంకా కొన్ని ఇతర భాషల్లో కూడా స్ట్రీమింగ్ చేసేందుకు గాను ప్రముఖ ఓటీటీ సంస్థ ఏకంగా సలార్ కు గాను రెండు వందల కోట్ల రూపాయలను ఆఫర్ చేసినట్లుగా వార్తలు వస్తున్నాయి. ఒక సౌత్ సినిమా కు ఆ స్థాయిలో ఓటీటీ రేటు రావడం ఇదే ప్రథమం అన్నట్లుగా టాక్ వినిపిస్తుంది.
ఈమద్య కాలంలో బాలీవుడ్ సినిమాలు డైరెక్ట్ ఓటీటీ స్ట్రీమింగ్ కు కూడా ఆ స్థాయిలో బిజినెస్ చేయలేక పోతున్నాయి. థియేట్రికల్ రిలీజ్ తర్వాత ఓటీటీ స్ట్రీమింగ్ కు రెండు వందల కోట్లు అంటే మామూలు విషయం కాదు. నిర్మాతలు దాదాపుగా సలార్ కోసం 300 కోట్ల వరకు ఖర్చు చేస్తూ ఉండవచ్చు అంటూ మీడియాలో ప్రచారం జరుగుతోంది. అందులో దాదాపుగా వంద కోట్ల వరకు ప్రభాస్ పారితోషికం ఉంటుందని అంటున్నారు. మూడు వందల కోట్ల బడ్జెట్ సినిమాకు కేవలం ఓటీటీ బిజినెస్ 200 కోట్ల రూపాయలు జరిగింది అంటే ఇక థియేట్రికల్ రైట్స్ కు మరియు శాటిలైట్ రైట్స్ కు మరెంత గా వచ్చే అవకాశం ఉందో ఊహించుకుంటేనే బాబోయ్ అనిపిస్తుంది. ఈ లెక్కలు కనుక నిజమే అయితే సలార్ సరికొత్త రికార్డులను నమోదు చేయడం ఖాయం. ప్రభాస్ సలార్ మాత్రమే కాకుండా ప్రస్తుతం చేస్తున్న ఇతర సినిమాలు మరియు ముందు ముందు చేయబోతున్న సినిమాలు అన్నీ కూడా ఇదే రేంజ్ బిజినెస్ ను చేసే అవకాశాలు లేకపోలేదు అంటూ విశ్లేషకులు అభిప్రాయం వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు.
AP Mining Department issues ESMA proceedings
The Department of Mines in Andhra Pradesh has exhibited great enthusiasm. Venkat Reddy, the Director of Mines, has given the proceedings that ESMA Act will be enforced if the employees go on strike.
It is known that Andhra Pradesh is witnessing huge protests from government employees regarding the PRC issue. It was in this context that the Committee of Ministers held lengthy discussions with the employees’ unions on Friday. It is learned that government adviser Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said the talks were positive. The government had also held talks with the unions on Saturday.
While the talks between the government and employees are giving positive outcomes, the ESMA proceedings issued by the Mining Department have shocked everyone. Employees are outraged by this move and they are questioning what the emergency services will be in the Mining Department.
For the unversed, the ESMA Act empowers a state government to take action against employees who are on strike or refuse to work on essential services, which are important for maintaining normal life. Using this act, the police can arrest anyone with no warrant if they are found to be violating its provision.
Mahesh candidly discusses the bad phase of his life
As the final episode of the ‘Unstoppable’ show premiered on Aha, the episode featured Balakrishna as the host and Mahesh Babu as the guest, as the duo discussed several topics, one of which had the latter open up about the bad phase in his career.

“After blockbuster hits, there was a period of three years, when you didn’t take up even a single project. Why did that happen?”, the ‘Akhanda’ actor quizzed Mahesh.
“We lost my grandmother, that year. I had to take a break to get over her death, as she was the one, who brought me up, mostly. Then, we lost Namrata’s both parents. My son Gautham was born and he was a preterm kid,” Mahesh Babu said.
He also conveyed that he wanted to take a break from the movies, as he was confused about his next step.
“Being said that, I do not even have any regrets. I wanted time to actualize all the happenings,” the ‘Pokiri’ actor said.
Mahesh Babu will be seen in ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ next. The superstar is to act under SS Rajamouli next.

Jagan goes out of the way to appease employees
Apparently realising that the state administration would come to a grinding halt if the state government employees go on indefinite strike from February 7, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has come down a bit and gone out of the way to appease the agitating employees.
After seeing the Vijayawada rally which witnessed massive turnout of the agitating employees, Jagan has understood that if the government adopts a stubborn stand, it would have far-reaching consequences on the state economy.
That is why, the chief minister has decided to go out of the way to appease the striking employees.
Based on his suggestions, the five-member committee of ministers and employees held discussions with the members of the steering committee of the employees’ unions till late hours of Friday.
The Jagan government has reportedly agreed to increase the House Rent Allowance percentage as per the previous rates.
The government might also withdraw the move to do away with city compensatory allowance and revise the pay scales once in five years, besides extending adiditional quantum for pensioners of above 70 years.
The employees are demanding that they be given at least 27 per cent fitment, on par with the interim relief, but the government has decided against the same. It has, however, agreed to drop the proposal to adjust interim relief from the salaries of the employees.
Another round of negotiations is being held in the state secretariat in the evening. If the chief ministers concedes majority of their demands, the employees’ union leaders might withdraw their plan to go on indefinite strike from February 7.

Set in Madanapalle of Andhra Pradesh, the village drama features the young actor as a police constable, who has night blindness. Keeping his weakness a secret, he deals with his disability while performing his duties. It is an interesting attempt from the makers and we’ve to wait for the films to hit the screens to see how the story turns out.
Written and directed by Balaji Sayyapureddy, Sebastian P.C. 524 is being produced by Pramod and Raju on Jyovitha Cinemas and presented by Elite Entertainments.
Being a bilingual movie, the film is to be released in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously on February 25. It has music by sensational composer Ghibran.
Lata Mangeshkar’s health condition worsens again
We already reported that legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was hospitalised after her health condition worsened when she had tested positive for Covid-19 on January 8.
Mangeshkar was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital soon after. After taking the treatment, the singer had shown some improvement in her health last year. Now, the latest reports suggest that Lata Mangeshkar’s health condition has deteriorated again. She is still in the ICU under doctors’ observation.
A statement about her latest health update states, “Lata Didi’s health has worsened again. She is still in ICU and will be under the doctor’s supervision. For the last 27 days, she is admitted to the hospital and her treatment is going on.”

Need to change CM, not Constitution, says Bandi
HYDERABAD: BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Friday said that there is no need to change or rewrite the Constitution of India. However, there was a compelling reason to change the Chief Minister and rewrite the history of Telangana by dethroning the TRS government for its anti-Dalit and anti-Girijan policies, by dumping the party in the Bay of Bengal, declared Sanjay.
He made these statements during the ‘Bheem Padayatra’ from Telangana Bhavan to Parliament in New Delhi on Friday, protesting against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s remarks about the need to rewrite the Constitution.
He said that the entire State was feeling ashamed of the CM for demanding that the Constitution of India needed to be rewritten. He criticised TRS leaders for brazenly defending the CM’s statement without any shame.
“Arrogance of power has gone into the heads of TRS leaders so much that they are even questioning whether there is any provision for giving CM’s post, three-acre land or financial assistance under Dalit Bandhu scheme to Dalit families,” he said.
Naga Chaitanya wraps up shoot of Thank You
Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, who is currently enjoying the success of Love Story and Bangarraju, is coming up with an interesting film titled ‘Thank You’.
Directed by Vikram Kumar, the Josh actor has now finished the shooting of Thank You, which is being touted as a slice-of-life drama.
Chay announced the completion of the film through a social media post. He has shared two images from the sets in which he is seen with Vikram Kumar and other crew members. Sharing the pictures, the actor said that he had “so much learning and fun working with these amazing people.”
Thank You has Rashi Khanna as the female lead. The movie is slated to be released this summer. The film is bankrolled by producer Dil Raju under his Sri Venkateshwara Creations banner. S. Thaman has composed the music.

The demand to make Hindupur the district headquarters took a big turn with Nandamuri Balakrishna stepping in and joining the force. To stand in solidarity with the people who are fighting for the demand, the Actor-turned-politician held a silent protest in Hindupur to support the demand.
A day after the silent protest, Balakrishna met the Anantapur District Collector and submitted a request to the Collector on the demand that Hindupur should be made the district headquarters. Balakrishna reached the Collector office as a rally and submitted the letter.
After meeting the Collector, the Nandamuri scion spoke to the media and supported the demand, and said that Hindupur is a better choice to be made the district headquarters. Nandamuri Balakrishna had voiced his support and said that he would meet CM Jagan for the interests of Hindupur.
It is said that the representation submitted by Nandamuri Balakrishna has all the details on the facilities enjoyed by Hindupur that makes it fare well compared to other regions to be made the headquarters of the Sri Sathya Sai district.
The other day, Nandamuri Balakrishna carried out a rally to support the demand. The rally lasted till the Ambedkar statue starting from the Potti Sriramulu statue. After reaching the Ambedkar statue, Balakrishna sat for the silent protesting holding placards.
The TDP leaders and locals took part in the protest and held the placards. At the protesting site, Nandamuri Balakrishna and the Telugu Desam Party leaders have raised slogans to support the demand.
After the Andhra Pradesh government announced the Sri Sathya Sai district with Puttaparthi as the headquarters, people from the Hindupur region have raised a new demand that Hindupur should be made the headquarters as it has better facilities and resources.
Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna sat for the silent protest after the request he made to the Andhra Pradesh government did not get any response. Not just Telugu Desam Party(TDP), other parties have also supported the demand and the leaders from various parties have reportedly extended their support
Balakrishna was last seen in Akhanda. The action entertainer was the first big hit from Tollywood after the Covid impact. Akhanda had a dream run at the box office and on the OTT platform as well.
