Sai Durgha Tej’s Slow Pace Raises Concerns Despite Big Projects

Share

Sai Durgha Tej, once known for maintaining a steady pace with multiple releases each year, has now slowed down significantly in recent times. Until 2023, the Mega hero ensured at least two films hit the screens annually, even making a quick comeback after his 2021 accident to complete Virupaksha and Bro without much delay.

However, it has now been nearly three years since his last release, and he is still working on his ambitious pan-India project Sambarala Yeti Gattu. The film, directed by debutant Rohit and produced by Hanu-Man fame Niranjan Reddy, has been in production for over two years. Despite its big scale, delays have pushed back the release, with some portions still pending. The team is now aiming to announce a release date soon.

Meanwhile, SDT has signed another interesting project with the director duo behind Kiran Abbavaram’s KA. The film will be backed by producer Saahu Garapati and is expected to be a high-budget mystic thriller, similar in tone to his successful film Virupaksha.

Looking at his recent script choices, Sai Durgha Tej appears to be focusing more on intense, larger-than-life subjects rather than routine commercial entertainers. While this shift shows a clear evolution in his career, the slow pace of releases is becoming a concern.

For an actor of his calibre, taking more than a year for a single project could impact momentum, especially when many leading stars manage consistent yearly releases. It may be the right time for SDT to speed things up and aim for at least one or two releases annually to maintain his strong presence in the industry.

Aditya Dhar Eyes Big-Budget Sports Drama as Next Project

Share

Director Aditya Dhar, who proved his mettle with the blockbuster Dhurandhar, has become one of the most bankable filmmakers in Bollywood. Following the massive success of the two-part film, there is growing curiosity among audiences about his next project.

According to industry reports, Aditya Dhar is now considering a high-scale sports drama. Known for his ability to balance intense emotions with strong action elements, a sports-based film from him could generate significant interest.

At the same time, Dhar has long expressed his desire to bring the story of Ashwatthama to the big screen, calling it his dream project. However, it remains unclear whether he will take it up immediately or pursue another film before that.

There is also speculation that the director may take a short break before finalising his next venture. Reports further suggest that he has initiated discussions with filmmakers from the South, raising the possibility of collaborating with a South Indian star.

While there is no official confirmation yet, it is evident that Aditya Dhar’s next move is being closely watched, and whichever project he chooses is expected to be mounted on a grand scale.

AR Rahman Becomes India’s Highest-Paid Music Director with Ramayana Deal

Share

Legendary composer A. R. Rahman is reportedly set to become India’s highest-paid music director with his upcoming project Ramayana. According to industry buzz, Rahman has signed the film for a remuneration of around ₹30 crore.

What makes the deal even more significant is the reported profit-sharing agreement, which could substantially boost his total earnings depending on the film’s box office success. This unique arrangement reflects both the scale of the project and Rahman’s stature in the industry.

With Ramayana already generating massive anticipation, Rahman’s involvement and premium deal have further heightened expectations around the film.

Vijayasai Reddy Slams YSRCP MPs Over Silence in Rajya Sabha

Share

Former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and ex-Rajya Sabha MP V. Vijayasai Reddy has strongly criticised his former party’s Members of Parliament, accusing them of remaining silent while political opponents targeted the leadership.

His remarks come in response to comments made by Congress Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdhury during a parliamentary debate on granting legal status to Amaravati as the capital. Speaking in support of the Bill, Renuka Chowdhury took a dig at YSRCP chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, questioning his stance on the capital issue.

Referring to her earlier opposition, she said she had openly challenged Jagan at the time, remarking that he should clearly call the capital Amaravati—or even “Kammaravati.” Her comments were aimed at highlighting what she described as inconsistency in his position during a politically sensitive phase.

While Vijayasai Reddy did not directly counter her statements, he expressed strong displeasure over the silence of YSRCP MPs. He pointed out that none of the party’s representatives in the Rajya Sabha intervened during the remarks or issued any condemnation afterward.

Questioning their inaction, he asked whether they had become mere spectators when their party president was being criticised in Parliament. To amplify the issue, he also shared a video clip of Renuka Chowdhury’s speech, bringing the matter into public attention.

His comments reflect growing dissatisfaction within sections of the party over what is being perceived as a weak parliamentary response and lack of political assertiveness in recent times.

The film, backed by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, is being planned with precision. Mani Ratnam aims to complete the entire shoot within a tight schedule of around 40–50 days. The project, which was announced during the festival of Ugadi, has already generated strong buzz in the industry. Adding to the excitement, music maestro A. R. Rahman is composing the soundtrack, raising expectations even higher.

Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi is juggling multiple big projects. She will be seen in Ek Din alongside Junaid Khan, which is slated for release on May 1. She is also playing Sita in Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana.

In addition, Sai Pallavi is working on another film with Dhanush, tentatively titled D55, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. Despite her packed schedule, she has managed to allocate dates for Mani Ratnam’s film.

Om Raut Drops Kalam Biopic, Eyes Film with Ajay Devgn

Share

Director Om Raut, who faced heavy criticism from Telugu audiences for portraying Prabhas in Adipurush, continues to remain a controversial figure even years after the film’s release. Despite being made on a massive budget, Adipurush disappointed fans, especially due to its poor visual effects, which drew widespread backlash.

The impact of that failure appears to have significantly slowed down Om Raut’s career. Even after nearly three years, he has not been able to take a new project onto the floors, reflecting the extent of damage the film caused to his reputation. Not just in the South, but even Bollywood audiences have become cautious about his projects.

Earlier, reports suggested that Om Raut was planning a biopic on former President A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, with Dhanush expected to play the lead role. The project was said to be backed by Abhishek Agarwal Arts and T-Series, with plans to begin shooting in 2025 and release in 2026. However, despite the buzz, the film has yet to go on floors, leading to speculation that the project may have been shelved.

Now, fresh reports indicate that Om Raut is shifting focus to a new film with Ajay Devgn. The duo had previously delivered a blockbuster with Tanhaji, which received both commercial success and critical acclaim. This has raised expectations among fans, who are eager to see the hit combination reunite.

It is said that Om Raut has already narrated a story to Ajay Devgn, who has shown strong interest in the project. If things go as planned, the film could go on floors later this year.

Meanwhile, Om Raut had earlier expressed interest in collaborating with Prabhas again after Adipurush. However, with Prabhas currently busy with multiple projects, and given the previous film’s outcome, such a collaboration seems unlikely in the near future.

Overall, the director’s shifting plans—from the Abdul Kalam biopic with Dhanush to a possible film with Ajay Devgn—have created confusion in industry circles. Many are questioning his clarity on upcoming projects, while others believe he is still trying to regain his footing after the setback of Adipurush.

Larry Ellison’s Wealth Drops $193 Billion as Oracle Shares Fall

Share

Oracle co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Larry Ellison has reportedly seen his fortune decline by over $193 billion in just six months, as a steep fall in Oracle Corporation shares significantly impacted his net worth.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Ellison’s wealth dropped from $388 billion on September 22, 2025, to around $195 billion as of April 3, 2026. This sharp decline has also affected his global ranking, pushing him down to sixth place after previously being among the top contenders just behind Elon Musk.

The primary reason behind the fall is the ongoing weakness in Oracle’s stock performance. Shares of the company have reportedly fallen nearly 58% from their September 2025 peak of $345.72, closing at $146.38 on April 2, 2026. As Ellison holds an estimated 41% stake in the company, his personal wealth remains closely tied to Oracle’s market valuation.

Adding to the pressure, Oracle recently carried out large-scale layoffs, reportedly affecting between 20,000 and 30,000 employees worldwide, or around 18% of its workforce. In India alone, around 12,000 employees were reportedly impacted across various departments.

Affected employees received termination notices via email stating that the decision was part of a broader organisational restructuring aligned with the company’s current business needs.

Pete Hegseth’s Pentagon Shake-Up Sparks Debate

Share

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has once again come under the spotlight after reportedly asking US Army Chief of Staff General Randy George to step down and proceed on immediate retirement, triggering a fresh wave of leadership changes within the Pentagon.

According to reports, Hegseth personally conveyed the decision, stating it was “time for a leadership change in the Army.” While the Pentagon has not officially disclosed detailed reasons, officials suggest the move aligns with efforts to align military leadership more closely with President Donald Trump’s strategic vision for the armed forces.

Hegseth has rapidly emerged as a prominent and closely watched figure in Washington, with a series of bold decisions—including allowing troops to carry personal firearms on military bases and initiating reshuffles in senior Army leadership—keeping him in the national conversation.

Born on June 6, 1980, Hegseth began his career in the U.S. Army National Guard after graduating from Princeton University through the ROTC programme. He served in deployments including Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, and Afghanistan, taking on roles ranging from platoon leadership to civil affairs operations. His service record includes two Bronze Star Medals along with other commendations such as the Combat Infantryman Badge and Expert Infantryman Badge.

After military service, he moved into policy advocacy with organisations like Vets for Freedom and Concerned Veterans for America, where he became known for strong conservative positions on US defence and foreign policy. He also briefly pursued electoral politics, including a Senate run in Minnesota.

Hegseth’s public profile rose significantly after joining Fox News in 2014, where he became a co-host on Fox & Friends Weekend and an influential commentator. During this period, he also served as an informal adviser to Donald Trump.

In November 2024, he was nominated as US Defence Secretary by Trump, a move that drew both support and criticism due to his unconventional background. His confirmation in January 2025 came after a closely contested Senate vote, with Vice President JD Vance casting the tie-breaking vote.

Recently, his tenure has been marked by controversial reforms, including approving personal firearms for troops on bases and restructuring senior military leadership, including the reported removal of Army Chief Randy George. Supporters view these steps as efforts to strengthen the military, while critics see them as signs of a more centralised and assertive leadership style.
