Andhra Pradesh Aims to Surpass 1994 Golden Era, Says IT Minister Lokesh
The 1994 era is often remembered as one of the golden periods for Andhra Pradesh when N. Chandrababu Naidu first took office as Chief Minister. During that time, he introduced several administrative reforms, ranging from government employee management to real-time governance systems and welfare programs, earning a reputation for efficient and transformative administration.
Now, IT Minister Nara Lokesh has confidently stated that the current Chandrababu-led administration aims not just to replicate the successes of 1994 but to surpass them.
Speaking on the subject, Lokesh said,
“Chandrababu Garu often speaks with pride about his 1994 administration, which is rightly regarded as a golden period. Our goal now is to make this 2024 era even better, delivering governance that makes Andhra Pradesh and its citizens proud. The state has moved from ‘ease of doing business’ to ‘speed of doing business,’ and many more investment opportunities will emerge soon.”
Lokesh’s statement comes on the heels of Cognizant’s foundation ceremony in Vizag, where the company announced plans to employ 25,000 people—a significant increase from their earlier estimate of 8,000 jobs. With major companies increasingly investing in Andhra Pradesh, the government’s focus remains on sustainable growth and long-term development, ensuring that the state reaps even bigger economic and social benefits.

NTR–Prashanth Neel’s Dragon Restarts Shoot After 6 Months
The long-awaited collaboration between Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel, backed by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts, is finally gaining momentum. Announced back in 2021, the project—tentatively titled Dragon—faced multiple delays, with only brief shooting schedules in February and April earlier this year. Since then, the film remained silent with no major updates, leading to speculation among fans.
Now, it’s almost certain that Dragon will be made in two parts, a major shift from the original plan of shooting it as a single film. According to exclusive information, after a six-month gap, the movie is all set to return to the sets on Saturday, December 13. The team reportedly used the break to make crucial script revisions before resuming production.
Director Prashanth Neel has shifted base from Bangalore to Hyderabad to begin the next schedule. Jr NTR, who is already in Hyderabad, is expected to join shortly. This schedule is said to be extremely demanding, featuring over 20 consecutive night shoots for a massive action sequence.
NTR has reportedly undergone a dramatic physical transformation, sporting his leanest look ever for the film. The plan is to shoot both parts together, with Part 1 expected to be wrapped by mid-next year. The makers are targeting a December 2026 or early 2027 release.

Kavitha Drops Bombshell Allegations on BRS Corruption
Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha has intensified her attacks on the BRS leadership, which she quit three months ago. Speaking at the Jagruthi office on Friday, Kavitha alleged that several former BRS ministers and MLAs were involved in large-scale corruption, land grabbing, and misuse of power throughout the previous regime headed by her father K. Chandrashekar Rao.
She announced that she is issuing legal notices to Kukatpally BRS MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao, BJP leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy, and T News for what she called baseless, defamatory accusations against her and her husband regarding land encroachment.
Kavitha demanded unconditional apologies within a week, warning that she would initiate legal action if they failed to comply.
Kavitha questioned the BJP’s sudden defence of BRS leaders, stating,
“When I criticise BRS and Congress leaders, why is the BJP getting disturbed?”
She alleged that a “mastermind” operating behind Krishna Rao would soon be exposed, adding that she would approach vigilance authorities and the CBI with formal complaints.
According to Kavitha, widespread corruption, illegal land conversions, and irregularities occurred during the 14-year BRS rule. She said she had revealed only a small portion of the alleged scandals:
“I have only tossed the coin. The test match is yet to begin.”
Kavitha claimed she receives daily complaints about illegal activities by BRS MLAs and former ministers. Recalling the Telangana movement, she alleged that several BRS leaders threatened activists and extorted money during the agitation years.
Responding to allegations against her, she asserted that she had never gained financially during the BRS regime.
“I pledged my jewellery to conduct Bathukamma programmes. I did not earn a single rupee through illegal means,” she said, warning that attempts to shift the blame for BRS corruption onto her would be strongly countered.
Kavitha alleged that many BRS leaders “looted the state like rats” under KCR’s shadow while she was serving as Nizamabad MP in Delhi. She criticised the party for continuing to attack her even after suspending her, declaring that she would not spare the “mastermind” behind these attacks.
In a major charge, Kavitha claimed that BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao personally signed the controversial land-use change GOs that the party is now opposing. Calling out what she termed BRS’s hypocrisy, she said the party opened the “window” for land-related misappropriation, while the current Congress government had opened the “main doors” through its HILT policy.
She further accused Krishna Rao’s son, Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy—allegedly a benami of KTR—of developing lavish villas and apartment complexes by converting industrial land into residential plots during the BRS tenure. Kavitha questioned why the Congress government was ignoring the Pochampalli farmhouse case if it had no involvement in the alleged corruption.
Leveling additional allegations, Kavitha said a 10-acre community lake linked to their real-estate venture was illegally reduced to 6 acres by encroaching upon 4 acres.
“Is that your ancestral property?” she asked, criticising the construction of a protective wall around a public water body.
Concluding her remarks, Kavitha alleged that the leaders in question had created a “KGF-style real-estate empire” through land encroachment, misuse of power, and manipulation of land-use permissions.
Reddit Challenges Australia’s Under-16 Social Media Ban in High Court
Reddit has filed a legal challenge in the High Court of Australia seeking to overturn the country’s new law that bans social media access for users under 16. The US-based platform, which has a substantial user base in Australia, lodged the case just days after the landmark legislation took effect, making Australia the first nation globally to enforce such an age threshold.
In its submission, Reddit argues the law breaches Australia’s constitutionally implied freedom of political communication. The company claims that preventing under-16s from accessing social media limits their ability to engage in political discussion and form informed opinions—an essential aspect of political participation for young people, as well as the parents and educators who guide them.
Under the legislation, effective 10 December, platforms including Reddit, Instagram, and TikTok must take “reasonable steps” to block users under 16 or face penalties of up to A$49.5 million (approximately ₹447 crore). While Reddit has said it will comply by introducing age-assurance tools such as age inference and estimation technologies, it maintains that the law is fundamentally flawed.
The company argues that mandated verification methods—some of which may require intrusive data collection like facial recognition—create “serious privacy and political expression concerns for everyone online,” including adults. Reddit further contends that it should not be categorised as an ‘age-restricted’ platform at all, asserting that its primary purpose is knowledge-sharing and community discussion rather than real-time social networking.
The lawsuit names the Commonwealth of Australia and Communications Minister Anika Wells as defendants. The government has defended the legislation, stating it stands “on the side of Australian parents and kids, not platforms,” and is prepared to contest the challenge to safeguard young Australians from online harm. Reddit’s case follows an earlier High Court challenge lodged last month by two teenagers.
