Silence on Akhanda 2 Release Date Troubles Small Movies

Share

Akhanda 2 was initially scheduled for release on December 5, but the team postponed it at the last minute, promising to announce a new date soon. Since then, there has been no official update, creating uncertainty for several smaller films slated for December releases.

Reports suggest that the Akhanda 2 team is considering two possible dates: December 12 and December 25. December 12 would allow the film to capitalize on its current buzz, while December 25 offers the advantage of a holiday weekend, potentially boosting box office collections.

The delay has put smaller films in a difficult spot. Titles like Mowgli, Psych Siddhartha, and Eesha are all scheduled for December 12. With limited time left, these producers are unsure whether to continue promotions, as a clash with a major release like Akhanda 2 could render their marketing efforts and budgets ineffective.

Mowgli actor Bandi Saroj, who plays the antagonist, openly criticised 14 Reels Plus for the delay. He stated that the silence is affecting producers, fans, and distributors, and urged the team to confirm the release date.

The delay is reportedly due to ongoing legal procedures related to the film’s release, slowing down the decision-making process. Current reports indicate that December 12 is the more likely release date. Small films will now have to decide whether to proceed with their planned release or adjust their schedules if Akhanda 2 occupies the weekend.

Rajinikanth Announces Padayappa 2 Focused on Neelambari

Superstar Rajinikanth’s 1999 blockbuster Padayappa remains one of the most iconic films in his illustrious career and in South Indian cinema. While Rajinikanth’s larger-than-life performance was unforgettable, Ramya Krishna’s menacing portrayal of the negative character Neelambari stole the show.

To celebrate his fifty years in cinema, Padayappa is set to return to theaters on December 12, coinciding with Rajinikanth’s birthday. The superstar himself has actively promoted the re-release, sharing his experiences from the film in a recent video interview.

In a major surprise, Rajinikanth revealed that a sequel, Padayappa 2, is in the works. Interestingly, the sequel will focus on the iconic Neelambari character played by Ramya Krishna. Fans of the original will recall the tremendous impact of Neelambari, making this announcement even more intriguing.

While Rajinikanth’s revelation has created a huge buzz among audiences, it has also sparked curiosity about the story and the likelihood of the sequel coming to life.

Prabhas’s Horror Thriller The Raja Saab: Thaman Teases Second Single

Share

Music director Thaman, who is composing for director Maruthi’s highly anticipated horror entertainer The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas in the lead, has shared an exciting update about the film’s second single, Sahana Sahana.

Taking to X, Thaman posted a short, engaging clip hinting at what fans can expect from the track. He described it as an “uber cool melody” that Prabhas will be seen singing to Nidhhi Agarwal in the film. Thaman wrote, “Second single from #TheRajaSaab is getting ready. An Uber Cool Melody from #RebelSaab’s Heart for his Cutie @AgerwalNidhhi. #SahanaSahana #TheRajaSaabSecondSingle Beautifully written by @kk_lyricist. Yow!! This will make your drive and your hard drive tripping.”

The makers have confirmed that The Raja Saab is scheduled for a grand worldwide release on January 9, 2025, as a Sankranti attraction. The film has already created massive buzz among fans, fueled by a spine-chilling yet well-edited trailer.

The trailer opens with Prabhas being hypnotised to recall his past, only to sense a mysterious presence lurking in the dark. While the film promises intense horror, it also balances humour, as seen in a scene where a perplexed VTV Ganesh questions the need to meet a spirit, to which Prabhas responds, “Then, what are you waiting for? Run!”

The film combines romance, action, humour, and horror, promising a complete cinematic experience. Sanjay Dutt’s character is introduced as a formidable exorcist, hypnotist, and psychiatrist, whose manipulations challenge the protagonists’ minds. The trailer also reveals Prabhas portraying a demon, stylishly smoking a cigar while seated upside down on a throne, delivering the dialogue, “What’s your problem? Am I an ant to sting you when you reach into the anthill? I’m the demon.”

The Raja Saab is generating high expectations, marking Prabhas’s first full-fledged horror entertainer. The film features cinematography by Karthik Palani and music by Thaman S. The cast includes Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar, who are expected to bring charm, elegance, and freshness to the eerie yet vibrant world of the film.

TDP Spokespersons Face Heat Amid Lokesh–Ram Mohan Tensions

Share

Party spokespersons are expected to be sharp, articulate, and well-informed. They represent their party on public platforms and are responsible for defending its stand with clarity, logic, and confidence. However, many spokespersons of regional parties today are increasingly appearing unprepared for serious national-level debates.

A recent example is TDP spokesperson Deepak Reddy, who unintentionally embarrassed his party during an interview with Arnab Goswami. When he stated that “Lokesh is taking care of the civil aviation issue,” Arnab immediately questioned in what capacity Lokesh had any role in civil aviation matters. Deepak Reddy, unable to give a convincing reply, was heavily trolled on social media.

The following day, Pattabhi appeared on the same program as the party’s “savior,” but he too struggled. Many viewers felt he did not even grasp Arnab’s question properly, leading to further criticism.

This issue is not exclusive to the TDP. YCP spokespersons also face similar challenges. Many of them perform confidently in local media—often divided into what the public calls “yellow media” and “blue media”—but they falter when questioned by national journalists who are more direct and demanding. Local spokespersons excel at attacking rival parties in friendly studios, but their real abilities (or limitations) become visible only on neutral, national platforms.

One major problem is the excessive dependence on top leadership. Spokespersons of regional parties rarely present independent thought. Whether it is Chandrababu Naidu or Lokesh in the TDP, or Jagan Mohan Reddy in the YCP, spokespersons feel obliged to repeatedly invoke their leaders’ names, even when it is unnecessary. Local party ecosystems often do not encourage individual talent, and any rising figure who gains recognition beyond the state tends to be viewed with suspicion.

In the Arnab incident, Deepak Reddy could have handled the situation better. When asked about the civil aviation issue, he might simply have said: “As this portfolio falls under the Union Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Cabinet, I cannot comment on the specifics.” That would have been a safe and sensible response.

Instead, his statement triggered another discussion altogether. Some TDP insiders claim Deepak Reddy may not have misspoken—that Nara Lokesh is indeed closely overseeing civil aviation-related matters behind the scenes. According to these reports, a section within the party is concerned about Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu’s rapid political rise, fearing it may overshadow Lokesh in the future. This has allegedly resulted in Lokesh’s team taking a keen interest in the civil aviation ministry.

Speculation in Delhi political circles suggests that Ram Mohan Naidu faces resistance from a coterie surrounding Lokesh, and that any growing influence of the young Union Minister is being viewed as a potential challenge to the party heir. Whether these claims are true is something only TDP leadership can clarify.

Nevertheless, many agree that certain unseen forces within the party are uncomfortable with Ram Mohan Naidu’s increasing popularity. In parties where leadership hierarchies are rigid, the rise of someone close to the heir-apparent almost always triggers internal friction.

For now, these developments remain speculative. It will be interesting to observe how these internal dynamics unfold and what they mean for the political future of both leaders involved.

Peddi Leads Promotions as The Paradise Eyes Summer Release

Share

While the promotional campaign for Ram Charan’s Peddi is aggressive and perfectly timed, other major March releases like Toxic and The Paradise seem to be falling behind in their publicity efforts. The latest buzz indicates that The Paradise may not arrive in March as initially planned.

There is also uncertainty surrounding the promotional strategy of Yash’s Toxic. Though positioned as a pan-Indian film, the team appears to be operating like a Kannada-centric production, leaving fans across other markets confused about its outreach plan.

In Telugu cinema, Peddi is gearing up for a March 27 release, while Ustaad Bhagat Singh is locked for April 2026. Both films have already begun promotions well in advance. Peddi is set to unveil another promotional asset on December 31 as a New Year special, following the viral success of its first song, “Chikiri Chikiri.”

Meanwhile, Nani’s The Paradise seems to have adopted a strategy of completing the shoot first before launching any major promotional activities to meet the March target. As a result, the team has not yet initiated publicity.

With the updated timeline, The Paradise will avoid clashing with Ram Charan’s Peddi in March and is now expected to arrive during the summer holiday season instead.

Pawan Kalyan Greenlights New Projects With People Media Factory

Share

Pawan Kalyan, despite his packed schedule as Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, is not stepping away from cinema. Interestingly, at a time when he wasn’t an MLA or minister, he paused his film commitments — but now, after taking charge as Deputy CM, his interest in doing movies seems stronger than ever.

Industry insiders reveal that he has reportedly given the green signal to yet another major project, this time to be produced by People Media Factory. Discussions are said to be underway for multiple large-scale ventures, with Pawan Kalyan Creative Works taking a lead role in the creative development.

According to sources, two massive projects are being planned with Pawan Kalyan as the lead actor. Beyond acting, he is expected to oversee the creative direction, approve storylines, and help shape a broader slate of films under this collaboration.

People Media Factory already shares a strong working rapport with Pawan Kalyan through “Hari Hara Veera Mallu” and “Bro.” Their combined experience over these films appears to have laid the foundation for a deeper and more structured partnership.

Meanwhile, there are whispers in industry circles that Pawan Kalyan may have assisted producer TG Vishwa Prasad in securing land in Kurnool for his proposed studio facility, as part of the government’s ongoing initiative to encourage investments in the state.
