Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s highly anticipated pan-India film Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, continues to build strong momentum following the overwhelming response to its promotional content. The first single, “Chikiri Chikiri,” has emerged as a chartbuster, surpassing 110 million views and still climbing.

The team has now commenced a fresh shooting schedule at a grand set erected at the Aluminium Factory, Hyderabad. Ram Charan, Shiva Rajkumar, and several key cast members have joined this schedule, which features a visually spectacular stunt sequence.

This high-intensity action block is being crafted under the expertise of renowned Bollywood action director Sham Kaushal, father of actor Vicky Kaushal. Known for his exceptional work in blockbusters like Dangal, Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, and more, Sham Kaushal is collaborating with stunt master Navakanth to deliver an adrenaline-filled sequence pivotal to the film’s narrative.

The makers are investing heavily in this single action episode, underscoring its importance within the storyline. Backed by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, Peddi is set for a grand worldwide release on March 27, 2026.

Tere Ishq Mein Opens Strong at Box Office

After Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re, actor Dhanush and director Aanand L Rai have reunited for the third time with Tere Ishq Mein, which released yesterday to an impressive response. Starring Kriti Sanon as the female lead, the romantic drama benefitted from strong pre-release buzz driven by its chart-topping album and the proven Dhanush–Rai combination.

According to trade reports, Tere Ishq Mein grossed Rs. 16.06 crore in Hindi and Rs. 68 lakh in Tamil on its opening day. The film registered an all-India gross of approximately Rs. 18 crore and a nett of around Rs. 14.7 crore, a remarkable start given the present scenario in the Hindi film market. Major metropolitan cities across the country witnessed excellent occupancy levels, particularly during the night shows.

In Hyderabad as well, the film saw strong traction. On Friday night, Tere Ishq Mein recorded 50 out of 106 shows as fast-filling or sold out, outperforming Andhra King, which had 46 out of 141 shows in the same category. Trade experts believe that a simultaneous Telugu release could have further boosted its numbers. Although the dubbed version titled Amara Kavyam was announced, it was not released concurrently. The lack of a structured release strategy and promotional activity for the Telugu version is seen as a missed opportunity, especially considering Dhanush’s sizeable fan base in the Telugu-speaking states. A visit from Dhanush for promotional events could significantly enhance the film’s reach.

With no major Bollywood releases this week, Tere Ishq Mein is positioned strongly and is expected to dominate the box office in the days ahead.

Ilaiyaraaja Wins Court Order to Remove Songs from Dude

Maestro Ilaiyaraaja continues to enforce strict action against the unauthorised use of his musical works, reaffirming his zero-tolerance stance on copyright violations. After securing a favourable verdict earlier this year against the makers of Good Bad Ugly, the legendary composer has now won another significant legal battle—this time against the team behind the recent Diwali release Dude, starring Pradeep Ranganathan.

In his petition before the Madras High Court, Ilaiyaraaja stated that two of his classic songs—“Karutha Machan” from Pudhu Nell, Pudhu Naathu and “Nooru Varusham Indha Maappillaum” from Panakkaran—were incorporated into Dude without his permission. The Court found prima facie evidence that the songs were modified and used without authorisation, thereby compromising the integrity of the original compositions and causing reputational harm to the composer.

Consequently, the Court issued an interim injunction prohibiting the use of Ilaiyaraaja’s songs in the film with immediate effect. A request from the production house, Mythri Movie Makers, seeking one week’s time to comply with the order was denied, underscoring the seriousness of the violation.
