Rakul Preet Singh’s Make-or-Break Film: De De Pyaar De 2

Actress Rakul Preet Singh is all set for the release of De De Pyaar De 2, starring alongside Ajay Devgn. The film serves as a sequel to the 2019 romantic-comedy De De Pyaar De. While the first installment received praise for its humor and performances, it failed to make a significant impact at the box office and garnered only an average response from audiences.
Now, the sequel is on the horizon. Directed by Anand L. Sharma, De De Pyaar De 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on November 14. Carrying the tagline “Pyaar vs Parivaar”, the movie focuses on love and family conflicts. Ajay Devgn reprises his role as Ashish Mehra, whose childhood friend, Ayesha, played by Rakul Preet Singh, meets his family. The story primarily revolves around the events that unfold during this family interaction. As with the first film, comedy plays a central role, but industry analysts note that its success will depend on whether the humor feels fresh or repetitive. R. Madhavan also plays a key role in the movie.
For Rakul Preet Singh, this film could be a turning point in her career. Over the past six years, none of her films have succeeded at the box office, both in Bollywood and Tollywood, and many have been outright flops. Consequently, opportunities have been limited. De De Pyaar De 2 is seen as a make-or-break project for her—if it becomes a hit, it could open doors for new opportunities in the industry. Conversely, another flop could signal a serious setback for her career.
Fans are eagerly hoping that the movie succeeds and provides Rakul with the breakthrough she has been seeking, giving her a chance to shine once again in the film industry.
Zelensky Discusses Air Defence Support with Trump Amid Russian Attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that he discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defence capabilities in a recent phone call with US President Donald Trump.
Zelensky, in a statement on social media platform X, said he briefed Trump on Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and expressed appreciation for the US leader’s willingness to support Ukraine. The two leaders explored concrete agreements and strategies to bolster Ukraine’s air defence systems.
“There are good options and solid ideas on how to strengthen Ukraine,” Zelensky noted. He also emphasized that if conflicts can be resolved in one region, similar measures could help stop other wars, including Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Earlier this week, Ukraine implemented emergency power outages in Kyiv and nine other regions after Russian missile and drone strikes targeted energy facilities across the country. The attacks caused widespread blackouts, although power was restored on Saturday for more than 800,000 residents in Kyiv, with localized outages still reported.
This phone call comes amid ongoing tensions, with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stating at the UN General Assembly in September that Moscow remains open to negotiations to end the conflict.
Zelensky’s discussions with Trump underscore Ukraine’s urgent focus on enhancing defence readiness while navigating the humanitarian and infrastructural challenges caused by continued attacks on the country’s energy grid.
UN Chief Guterres to Attend Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is set to travel to Egypt to attend the Sharm el-Sheikh Summit for Peace on Monday, according to a statement from the Office of the Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General. He is expected to return to UN Headquarters on Wednesday.
The summit, hosted in Egypt’s Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, aims to finalize an agreement to end the ongoing war in Gaza. The meeting will be co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and US President Donald Trump and will gather leaders from more than 20 countries. The focus is on bringing peace and stability to the Middle East and initiating a new phase of regional security.
The ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, which took effect on Friday, followed three days of intense negotiations mediated by Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, and the United States.
The first phase of the agreement includes the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza City, Rafah, Khan Younis, and northern Gaza, the opening of five crossings for humanitarian aid, and the release of hostages and prisoners.
A Hamas source confirmed that the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt is expected to reopen in the middle of next week, allowing limited movement of people, though detailed operational plans have not yet been announced.
The Sharm el-Sheikh Summit is seen as a crucial step toward stabilizing the region and ensuring a sustainable peace process in Gaza and the wider Middle East.
EU Introduces Biometric Entry/Exit System for Non-EU Travellers

Travellers from non-EU countries, including India, must now comply with the European Union’s new Entry/Exit System (EES), which requires biometric registration—including fingerprints, facial recognition, and digital passport scans—at borders across the Schengen Zone.
Launched today, the EES replaces traditional passport stamping with a fully digital record of travellers’ biometric data and travel history. It applies to the 25 Schengen countries—such as France, Spain, Italy, and Germany—as well as Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. Ireland and Cyprus are exempt.
The EU says the system will enhance border efficiency, strengthen internal security, and help track visa overstays. Collected data—including names, facial images, fingerprints, and travel logs—will be stored for three years and may be accessed by border, visa, immigration authorities, local police, and Europol under strict regulations.
The phased rollout begins immediately at major UK departure points. At Dover, coach and foot passengers must use EES registration terminals, while Eurotunnel departures from Folkestone and Eurostar passengers from London St Pancras will face gradual implementation over the coming months.
Travellers must use self-service kiosks upon arrival to register biometric data. Refusal to provide a facial scan or fingerprints will result in denied entry. Children under 12 are exempt from fingerprinting.
Implementation timelines vary across the EU. In Germany, Stuttgart Airport will lead the rollout, followed by Frankfurt and other major hubs. While EES does not replace passport checks, it reduces repeated manual stamping, simplifying subsequent entries within a three-year period.
The system does not apply to EU citizens or nationals from Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland. Certain long-stay visa holders and exempt categories may also bypass full registration. Full implementation across all applicable locations is scheduled by April 10, 2026.
