LV Gangadhara Sastry Slams Rajamouli Over Lord Rama Remarks

Share

LV Gangadhara Sastry, the renowned singer and spiritual leader known for his Bhagavad Gita movement, recently voiced strong criticism against filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli over the director’s past remarks about Hindu deities. Rajamouli had reportedly described Lord Rama as “boring” and suggested that Lord Krishna had “many girlfriends,” comments that have been circulating widely online.

Responding sharply, Sastry said, “People speak about Lord Rama and Lord Krishna according to their level of understanding. Before commenting, one must learn. If we die, who remembers us? Then how is Lord Rama remembered even after millions of years if he was truly boring? Such irresponsible statements should never be made. Rajamouli should not have spoken when he clearly knows nothing about them.”

He also contrasted Rajamouli with the filmmaker’s father, Vijayendra Prasad, noting, “Vijayendra Prasad spoke about Lord Hanuman because he has actually read the scriptures.”

Sastry issued a stern warning regarding any commercial exploitation of Lord Rama in films without genuine belief, stating in Telugu, “Maamoolugaa raalavu dantaalu,” meaning “your teeth won’t remain as they are,” implying that there will be consequences.

His remarks have reignited debate over Rajamouli’s interpretations of Hindu deities and the responsibility of influential filmmakers when discussing religious icons.

Seattle Indian Restaurant Thanksgiving Feast Sickens 35

Share

A special “Thanksgiving feast” served by a Seattle Indian restaurant has reportedly sickened 35 people, according to King County Public Health.

Kanishka Cuisine of India, located in downtown Seattle, offered a “Fusion Thanksgiving Feast” for the holiday. Beginning November 28, a day after the meal, dozens of customers reported gastrointestinal symptoms, including diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, fatigue, headaches, and body aches.

No employees reported illness, and officials have not pinpointed a specific food item. However, King County Public Health noted that the symptoms are consistent with illnesses caused by bacterial toxins—dangerous substances that can develop when food is stored at unsafe temperatures.

The outbreak appears to have subsided, but investigations are ongoing. During an inspection on December 2, authorities noted several potential contributing factors, including limited kitchen space, inadequate equipment for handling large-volume holiday meals, improper cooling practices, and foods not kept at safe temperatures. A follow-up inspection on December 4 confirmed continuing issues with food cooling.

During the restaurant’s temporary closure, unsafe food was discarded, and staff underwent retraining in safe food-handling procedures. Kanishka Cuisine of India had previously earned an “excellent” rating in the county’s food safety grading system.

Sakshi Malik in Minimalist Monochrome

In this black-and-white portrait, Sakshi Malik stands with fluid, effortless poise, her crisp white shirt catching the soft studio light.
The absence of color shifts the focus to texture and form—fabric, skin, and shadow blending into a quiet visual harmony. Every detail feels intentionally restrained yet subtly expressive.

Her lifted leg and angled posture introduce a sense of upward motion, as if the image captures a moment suspended between balance and allure. Negative space frames her silhouette, emphasizing both stillness and movement, while the contrast deepens the photograph’s rhythm and guides the eye along each carefully shaped line.

The black underlayer acts as a strong tonal anchor, grounding the composition with clarity and purpose. Delicate highlights contour her figure, creating a portrait that celebrates discipline, form, and the expressive strength of minimalism.

Akhanda 2 Premiere Booking Confusion Deepens

Share

Akhanda 2 is gearing up for release, and online ticket bookings have officially opened. But there’s one glaring issue that has left fans puzzled.
Despite the hype around its paid premiere screenings, these shows are still not visible on any booking platform in Hyderabad. Only regular shows from December 12 are open, and tickets for them are already selling fast.

This has led to widespread confusion, as the first official screening is supposed to be the paid premieres on the night of December 11. Yet, fans cannot book them anywhere.

According to industry insiders, distributors may be resorting to a familiar tactic. They say that the moment bookings open, excited fans rush to secure the earliest available show. Distributors reportedly wait until a significant number of regular-show tickets are sold—and only then release the premiere tickets.
The outcome, insiders claim, is predictable.

Fans who are desperate to catch the earliest possible show end up buying premiere tickets priced around ₹600. Since most ticketing platforms do not allow cancellations, these fans are forced to purchase tickets twice.

When questioned, distributors allegedly brush it off casually, suggesting that true fans can surely afford the cost of two tickets for their favourite star. This, insiders say, has become a recurring strategy.

However, a source from the producer’s side offers a different explanation, suggesting that distributors alone may not be responsible. Internal coordination issues and last-minute scheduling changes may also be at play.

For now, the truth remains unclear. But the continued delay in opening paid premiere bookings has undoubtedly raised eyebrows among fans.

This issue isn’t unique to Akhanda 2. Several major releases in recent times have faced similar situations. Unless the government enforces a strict cancellation policy to protect consumers, such practices are likely to continue.

India’s Growing Crises and the PM’s Silence

Share

Today’s India appears weighed down by crisis after crisis. Pollution continues to suffocate Delhi and much of North India, turning the basic act of breathing into a daily challenge. The aggressive push toward privatisation is beginning to reveal its harsher consequences. Farmers — the backbone of a 140-crore nation — remain trapped between debt, uncertainty, and exploitative middlemen.

Meanwhile, the rupee’s decline has become a routine headline. What troubles citizens even more is the casual dismissal of this fall by those in power. Adding to the growing list of concerns, a fresh aviation crisis has erupted, shaking public confidence in an already struggling sector. International relations with the United States are under visible strain, leaving thousands of H-1B workers distressed as mass visa appointment cancellations disrupt careers and families.

In such a turbulent moment, people expect the Prime Minister to address these pressing national and international challenges. Instead, there appears to be little urgency from the top leadership. Citizens want clarity on inflation, employment, and specific measures to support farmers. Yet whenever the Prime Minister speaks, the discourse often pivots back to familiar themes — Nehru, past governments, cultural slogans, and emotional rhetoric. This repetitive script is beginning to test public patience.

Modi’s criticism of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru seems unending, but Nehru’s era concluded decades ago. After twelve years of Modi’s own governance, even ordinary people are now questioning the relevance of constant comparisons with the past.

Adding to the discontent, national and international vloggers are openly highlighting broken roads, garbage-filled lanes, and poor civic maintenance in Varanasi — the Prime Minister’s constituency for the last twelve years. These viral visuals have tarnished the city’s image globally. The public is left wondering: does the Prime Minister not see this, or is there simply no intent to fix it?

For middle-class families scrambling for stable employment, for farmers drowning in debt, the core question remains unchanged: How does any of this improve our lives? Rising fuel costs, soaring vegetable prices, job scarcity, and unaffordable housing demand clear, actionable answers.

Yet the response from the highest office continues to fall back on a familiar refrain — blame the past, blame long-gone Congress leaders. This narrative may still energise loyal supporters, but a growing number of citizens appear increasingly unconvinced. On social media, people are openly expressing concern that Modi’s image and political appeal may be at risk if he does not shift his focus to present-day realities.

Consecutive election victories may have boosted the Prime Minister’s confidence, but confidence alone cannot solve a nation’s mounting problems. India needs solutions, not slogans; accountability, not repetition.

Young Indian Woman in Coma After San Jose Accident

Share

young Indian woman from San Jose remains in a coma after a devastating accident earlier this month, triggering an outpouring of support from community groups as her father struggles alone to navigate complex medical and legal challenges far from home.

Arti Singh was returning from a professional networking event on November 9 when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing the road near her residence. She has remained unconscious since the collision and is undergoing intensive treatment at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Centre, where doctors have already performed major surgeries to her neck and stomach to support her breathing and feeding, a media release said.

“My daughter is still not opening her eyes. I talk to her every day, hoping she can hear me. I have no one here—just her, and the hope that she will wake up,” her father, Sumiran Singh, said.

Sitting by her bedside day and night, he added, “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know anything else. I just want answers.”

According to the San Jose Police Department, the collision was not a hit-and-run. However, the driver’s identity has not yet been made public. Singh said authorities only informed him that the driver was a man in his 50s and was uninsured at the time of the crash. Police have provided no further updates regarding his condition or any potential charges, leaving the family frustrated by the lack of information.

Singh also does not have access to Arti’s documents, devices, or personal belongings, complicating communication and routine decision-making. Community supporters say language barriers and unfamiliar administrative processes have made his situation even more daunting.

The Overseas Organisation for Better Bihar (O2B2), a Northern California-based community group, learned of the accident and quickly stepped in to support him.

“This is every parent’s nightmare,” a representative said. “Singh is alone here with no family support. Our community is doing everything possible to make sure he is not left to struggle in silence.”

The group has been accompanying him to hospital appointments, government offices, and legal agencies while also launching a fundraising campaign to help cover accommodation, transportation, meals, and other essential needs.

“This situation is heartbreaking,” an O2B2 spokesperson said. “When we met him, he didn’t even know where he would sleep. We cannot allow a father to suffer alone in a foreign land while his daughter fights for her life. We are urging the Indian community in the Bay Area to come forward and support Arti and her father in any way they can.”

Community volunteers have echoed the call for broader assistance and greater transparency from local authorities.

“We are praying for Arti every moment,” a volunteer said. “We want her to wake up. And we want her father to know he is not alone.”

Community leader Ajay Bhutoria has also taken up the matter with the District Attorney’s office while coordinating additional support for the family.

As Arti continues to remain in critical condition, messages of solidarity and prayers have been pouring in from across California and beyond. Her father keeps constant vigil at her bedside, whispering through tears, “Wake up, beta. I’m right here.”

Pedestrian-involved accidents have become a growing concern across several U.S. cities, including in California, where dense traffic corridors and limited safe crossings have renewed calls for stronger safety measures. Many Indian students and young professionals in the Bay Area—one of the largest diaspora hubs in the United States—often rely on walking or shared transportation, increasing their vulnerability to road-related risks.

The Indian Consulate in San Francisco has, in recent years, expanded its outreach to families dealing with medical emergencies, accidents, and complex legal situations amid the region’s growing Indian population. Community organisations, including cultural and regional volunteer groups, continue to mobilise quickly to support individuals in crisis far from home.

Mahesh Babu to Feature in Five Avatars in SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi

Share

Mahesh Babu and director SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated magnum opus Varanasi continues to create a buzz among Telugu audiences. The film promises to merge fantastical mythological worlds with a modern cinematic vision, and early glimpses have already shown Mahesh in a Lord Rama avatar.

According to industry buzz, Mahesh Babu will appear in no less than five distinct avatars in the movie. Fans have already seen his Rudra avatar, featuring a buttonless shirt and a Rudraksha around his neck, as well as the brief Lord Rama avatar. The remaining three avatars are said to be visually stunning, challenging, and a first-of-its-kind showcase for the Superstar. After unveiling a six-pack look, there are reports that Mahesh will appear shirtless in some scenes, adding further excitement for film lovers eager to see multiple sides of the actor in a single film.

Currently under production, Varanasi recently faced a minor title conflict, which industry insiders have confirmed has been resolved. The film also features Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in key roles. Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani has already captivated fans with the Sanchari song, and anticipation for the movie continues to rise.

Chiranjeevi Faces Backlash for Controversial Comment at Telangana Rising Summit

Share

Megastar Chiranjeevi is facing criticism on social media following a comment he made during his appearance at the Telangana Rising Global Summit. The actor attended the event alongside NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery and industrialist Anand Mahindra.

While speaking on stage, Chiranjeevi recalled how he was invited to the summit, mentioning that ministers had approached him while he was “dancing with a girl” during a film shoot at Annapurna Studios. His remark drew swift backlash online, with many users calling it a “poor choice of words.”

Chiranjeevi said, “You may wonder why a film star like Chiranjeevi is here when every other chief guest belongs to finance, automobiles, or politics. Honestly, even I wondered the same.” He added that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had personally wanted him at the event and sent Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu to the film set to invite him.

Describing the moment, he said, “Do you know what position I was in when they came to invite me? Evaro ammai to dance chestu unnanu Annapurna Studios lo (I was dancing with some girl at Annapurna Studios). I felt very awkward and had to stop shooting for a while.”

The clip quickly circulated on X (formerly Twitter), triggering mixed reactions. Some criticized the remark, with comments such as: “Bringing up a ‘girl’ topic was totally unnecessary,” and “At some point, we should stop inviting celebrities who cannot control their words to events like this.” Others felt the comment reflected carelessness rather than intent, with one user noting, “I think when we grow up, we lose control over our choice of words.”

On the film front, Chiranjeevi will next be seen in Vishwambhara, slated for a Summer 2026 release. He also has Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu and an untitled film with director Srikanth Odela in the pipeline.

Kaithi 2 Update: Karthi Says No News Yet on Sequel

Share

Kaithi, released in 2019 with Karthi in the lead and Lokesh Kanagaraj as director, was a major success and marked a turning point in Lokesh’s career. The film’s end credits hinted at a sequel, sparking anticipation among fans ever since.

However, Lokesh became occupied with other high-profile projects, collaborating with stars like Vijay, Kamal Haasan, and Rajinikanth, while also expanding the Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe that began with Kaithi. Earlier reports suggested that Kaithi 2 would commence after CooLie, but even after the film’s completion, there is still no official update. Lokesh has also been linked to potential projects including a Rajinikanth–Kamal Haasan multistarrer (possibly now going to Nelson) and a future collaboration with Aamir Khan. New reports indicate he may also work with Allu Arjun after the latter completes his film with Atlee.

Meanwhile, Karthi is busy with his own film slate. Following last year’s Meiyazhagan (released as Sathyam Sundaram in Telugu), he is now promoting Vaa Vaathiyar, releasing in Telugu as Annagaru Vostaru on December 12. During a media interaction in Hyderabad, Karthi was asked about Kaithi 2 and stated he has no updates on the sequel and is unaware when it will happen. His response has fueled speculation about the slow progress of the project.

Karthi’s upcoming films include Sardar 2, which has completed shooting, followed by Marshal, and then HIT 4 with director Sailesh Kolanu. For now, both fans and the lead actor are still waiting for official news on Kaithi 2.
