Deepika Padukone Faces Backlash Over Film Exits and Abu Dhabi Ad

Actress Deepika Padukone has once again become the center of controversy. Reports recently surfaced suggesting that she demanded a hefty remuneration and set multiple conditions for the film “Spirit.” Following this, Vyjayanthi Movies reportedly decided not to continue with her for “Kalki 2”, citing alleged unprofessional behavior and lack of commitment. These developments have sparked strong reactions from Telugu fans, particularly Prabhas’s fanbase, on social media.
Although Deepika has not made any official statements regarding her exit from these two major projects, the discussions around her remain intense online.
The latest controversy arose after she appeared in an Abu Dhabi tourism advertisement alongside her husband, Ranveer Singh, wearing a traditional abaya and headscarf (hijab). Right-wing groups criticized her, claiming that the attire contradicts her modern and feminist image. At the same time, Prabhas’s fans used this opportunity to intensify the trolling, linking her appearance in the ad to the earlier Tollywood controversies.
As a result, Deepika Padukone is currently facing renewed online backlash — not only for her choice of attire but also in connection with her departure from two highly anticipated Telugu films.
Shriya Reddy’s Powerful Comeback in Salaar and OG

Actress Shriya Reddy has made a remarkable comeback in films, delivering commanding performances in Salaar and OG. With her strong screen presence and towering performances, she effortlessly dominates her co-actors and captures audience attention.
Shriya is also recognized as one of the fittest actresses in the industry. Even Pawan Kalyan praised her dedication and fitness levels during a promotional event for OG.
In a recent interview, Shriya shared her unique preparation routine for Salaar. “I remember doing 50-60 pushups before every shot to embody the character of Radha Rama. Even in costume, inside my caravan, I’d take a few minutes before being called for a scene to finish my quick workout. Pushups were my primary exercise and the easiest way to feel empowered,” she revealed.
She added, “When I stand in Khansar, surrounded by so many men…to feel invincible, I need to feel it from within.”
On the career front, Shriya Reddy is gearing up for her next venture, Salaar Part: 2, promising more high-octane performances and screen dominance.
‘Committee Kurrollu’ Team Reunites for New Project with Niharika Konidela

The hit combination of ‘Committee Kurrollu’ is all set to reunite! Director Yadu Vamsi, who won hearts with his relatable storytelling in Committee Kurrollu, is reportedly in talks for a new project with Niharika Konidela under the Pink Elephant Pictures banner. According to sources, the film is expected to start shooting in 2026.
Committee Kurrollu, which released last year as a small-budget film, became a massive success. The film was unique for introducing 11 new male leads and 4 heroines to Telugu cinema. Made on a budget of ₹9 crores, it earned ₹18.5 crores theatrically and an additional ₹6 crores non-theatrically, taking its total collection to ₹24.5 crores — a sensational success story.
The film also performed exceptionally well in the awards circuit. At SIIMA 2025, Niharika Konidela won Best Debut Producer, while Sandeep Saroj received Best Debut Actor. Additionally, at the Gaddar Awards announced by the Telangana Government, Committee Kurrollu bagged two prestigious honors: Best Feature Film on National Integration, Communal Harmony, and Social Uplift of Depressed Classes, and Yadu Vamsi was awarded Best Debut Director.
Following this success, Pink Elephant Pictures’ Production No. 2 is already in progress. Directed by Manasa Sharma, it stars Sangeet Shobhan and Nayan Sarika in lead roles. The story, screenplay, and dialogues are by Manasa Sharma and Mahesh Uppala, with Manyam Ramesh serving as Executive Producer and Anudeep Dev composing the music.
While Committee Kurrollu continues to shine at award ceremonies and in audience hearts, the excitement around the new fantasy-comedy entertainer is already building, promising another memorable addition to Telugu cinema.
Mohan Babu University Faces Alleged Fee Irregularities

Mohan Babu’s Sri Vidyanikethan Engineering College, initially granted autonomous status and later upgraded to Mohan Babu University, has come under scrutiny following allegations of financial irregularities.
The Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission (APHERMC) reported that the university collected ₹26.17 crore in excess fees from students between 2022 and September 2024, allegedly violating government norms. Following its investigation, the commission imposed a fine of ₹15 lakh and directed the university to refund the excess amount within 15 days. APHERMC also recommended that the State Government consider revoking the university’s recognition, citing repeated violations and a lack of transparency. These details were published on APHERMC’s official website.
Responding to the media coverage, Pro-Chancellor Manchu Vishnu said:
“We are issuing this statement in response to media reports regarding certain recommendations made by APHERMC against Mohan Babu University. The university strongly opposes these recommendations, which are only suggestions. The matter is currently under judicial review in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, which has granted a stay order in favor of the university. It is unfortunate that these details were uploaded online despite the court’s stay order.
Certain sections of the media are selectively presenting information to tarnish the university’s reputation. We urge parents and the public not to believe unfounded reports. APHERMC itself acknowledges that the university team fully cooperated during the inquiry, indicating no wrongdoing. We thank thousands of parents and students for their consistent support. Under the guidance of our Chancellor, Dr. M. Mohan Babu, we remain committed to empowering youth with world-class, holistic education.”
The university emphasized its commitment to legally addressing the allegations while continuing its educational mission. The final outcome will be determined by ongoing proceedings in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Kiran Abbavaram on Telugu Films Struggling for Screens in Other States

Telugu audiences have always shown immense love for films, regardless of language. While non-Telugu heroes often enjoy wide releases in Telugu states, Telugu actors frequently face challenges in getting the same reception in other regions. Kiran Abbavaram, gearing up for his upcoming Diwali release K-RAMP, recently spoke about this issue in an interview.
Kiran’s previous Diwali release, KA, was a content-driven film that performed well at the box office. However, it was not released in Tamil Nadu, even in a dubbed version. “We tried our best to get screens for the Tamil version. The harsh reality is we were told we wouldn’t get screens in Tamil Nadu. Even the original Telugu version didn’t get proper screens until the first week was over. After that, we only got 10 screens, despite audience demand,” Kiran explained.
Asked why this happens, Kiran admitted he doesn’t fully understand. “Some say it’s logistics, some say it’s stardom. But I don’t get it. When young actors from other industries make good films, Telugu audiences support them. Recently, the Malayalam-to-Telugu dub Lokah ran houseful in Hyderabad. But when young Telugu actors attempt something fresh, other states don’t give screens.”
On the possibility of a Tamil release for K-RAMP, Kiran said, “I haven’t figured that out yet and need to check with my producer. For KA, it didn’t happen. Even if I wanted to, I know we wouldn’t get theatres. Tamil actor Pradeep Ranganathan’s film Dude is releasing this Diwali in Telugu and getting huge screens. I can’t get the same love for a Telugu film in Tamil Nadu. We love Tamil stars and support their films. We hope for the same in return.”
Kiran also shared plans for his next project, Chennai Love Story. “This film is set entirely in Chennai. We hope to plan a proper release in Tamil Nadu and reach the audience there,” he said.
K-RAMP stars Kiran Abbavaram and Yukti Thareja, directed by Jains Nani. Music is composed by Chaitan Bharadwaj. Produced by Razesh Danda under Hasya Movies and Shiva Bommak under Ruudransh Celluloid, the film is scheduled for a worldwide Diwali release on October 18, 2025.
PM Modi Calls for Investment and Innovation at IMC 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday emphasized that now is the perfect time to invest, innovate, and ‘Make in India’, spotlighting the country’s expanding opportunities in manufacturing, technology, and digital infrastructure.
Speaking at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, PM Modi highlighted India’s preparedness to tackle global challenges and emerge as a key player in sectors like semiconductors, mobile manufacturing, and data security. He pointed out that any disruptions in the global supply chain offer India a chance to provide solutions and strengthen its position on the world stage.
“To bolster India’s semiconductor capabilities, the government is establishing 10 semiconductor manufacturing units,” PM Modi announced. He also encouraged advancements in chipsets and other mobile components to support the country’s tech ecosystem.
The Prime Minister underscored the growing importance of data storage security and data sovereignty, noting that India has the potential to become a global data hub, thanks to its strong digital connectivity and affordable internet access — with 1GB costing as little as a cup of tea. He stressed that digital connectivity is not a privilege, but a necessity in today’s world.
Reflecting on the past decade, PM Modi highlighted the need for a modern legal framework to support India’s rapid digital and technological transformation. He also emphasized the critical role of startups and innovators in driving growth, global competitiveness, and technological leadership.
“From manufacturing to electronics and semiconductors, India has immense opportunities and energy to lead the global technology landscape,” the Prime Minister said, reaffirming that ongoing reforms make this the ideal time for investment, innovation, and building a self-reliant India.
