Is former deputy CM of Telangana and a senior leader from the Dalit community Kadiyam Srihari staring at political oblivion? Will he get a renomination as the MLC or will it be the end for him? This is the hotly debated topic in Warangal district these days. Though the Election Commission has deferred the MLC elections, his worries have not ended.

Kadiyam was one of the key leaders of Telugu Desam for years. Later, he switched over to the TRS. He was made an MLC and was given the deputy CM post. Later, he was removed from the post after the TRS won a second time in 2018. Since then, he is a mere MLC. His attempts to get his daughter Kavya elected as an MLA too failed. Since then, Kadiyam Srihari is keeping a low profile. But, sources close to him say that he is worried about getting re-nominated to the legislative council.

Sources say that there are a total of six seats and only one from Warangal. KCR has to choose between Kadiyam and chief whip Bodakunti Venkateshwaralu. If Bodakunti is selected, then it is highly likely that Kadiyam would not be nominated again. Meanwhile, there is no guarantee whatsoever from KCR on his nomination. Sources say that Kadiyam is weighing all options and is exploring all possibilities of getting re-nominated.

Minister from Karimnagar Gangula Kamalakar has a new task cut out for him these days. He has been asked by the TRS top boss to take care of Huzurabad. Now, Huzurabad is renegade leader Etela Rajinder’s constituency. As of now Etela is an MLA, but if he chooses to resign from the party and the MLA post, there could be a bypoll.

More importantly, a large section of the party apparatus is still controlled by Etela and several important leaders owe their allegiance to him. Internal estimates of the TRS show that at least 80 per cent of the TRS cadre and leaders in Huzurabad might sail with Etela Rajender. Hence the party has begun the mission to wean away TRS workers from Etela. For this, Gangula Kamalakar has been entrusted with the task of keeping in touch with the Huzurabad cadre. Being a minister, Gangula Kamalakar has considerable weight in TRS and he is said to be talking to several of the Etela’s supporters.

Though the party has asked Rajya Sabha MP and Etela’s rival Captain Lakshmikantha Rao to handle things, KCR feels that Gangula’s efforts will be crucial. Bypolls or no bypolls, Etela’s supporters should come back to the TRS fold, this seems to be the brief given to Gangula and he is now fully focusing on that. In fact, Gangula was made a minister only to offset the salience of Etela in Karimnagar politics. Hence Gangula has been deployed to fight Etela’s influence in Huzurabad.

Young writer-director of Tollywood Nandyala Ravi dies of covid-19

Young writer and director of Tollywood, Nandyala Ravi has been diagnosed with covid-19 and was admitted in a private hospital in Hyderabad recently. He has been critically ill for few days since hospitalisation and expired today while grappling with the infection.

He has his credits as a director for Naga Shaurya’s ‘Lakshmi Raave Maa Intiki’ in the past and associated as a script writer for several Telugu movies. When he got infected with virus some of the stars have shown their support by coming forward in his struggling stage. Producer K Radha Mohan Young comedian-hero Saptagiri donated Rs 1 lakh for his hospital respectively for his expenses and also Chiranjeevi made necessary arrangements with some funding.

However, it didn’t help as his health deteriorated and was reported dead today. His death sent shock waves across the industry, his family members and relatives who hoped he would be alive.

Earlier this week, the Telangana High Court issued directives to the state government to not stop ambulances with Covid patients coming from neighboring states for treatment saying that there is no rule to do so.

Despite the court directives, ambulances coming from Andhra Pradesh are being stopped near the Telangana border. On Friday, Cops stopped ambulances at the Pullur Toll Plaza on the Andhra Pradesh-Telangana border.

Media reports claimed that two Coronavirus patients breathed their last near the AP-Telangana border after the ambulances were denied permission to enter the state on Friday morning.

It has been widely reported that the two patients who need treatment given their serious health condition were reportedly not allowed to enter the state which resulted in the patients breathing their last.

After ambulances were stopped at the AP-Telangana border Kurnool MLA, MA Hafeez Khan reached the spot and spoke to the cops there. He urged the cops to allow the ambulances so that patients with severe Covid conditions can be treated.

On the other hand, Telangana cops reportedly said that, to allow ambulances to enter the state the patients should get permission to get admitted to hospitals and medical facilities.

52 lakh Andhra Pradesh ryots get 1st instalment of Rythu Bharosa

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday said his government released Rs 3,928.88 crore as the first instalment of YSR Rythu Bharosa- PM Kisan Scheme, benefiting 52.38 lakh farmers, despite financial constraints in the times of Covid-19 pandemic to ensure that they are not subjected to any inconvenience while taking up agricultural operations for the ensuing Kharif season.

Addressing farmers across the State virtually from his camp office in Tadepalli, he said they credited the amount directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries for the third year under the scheme so that they can use it as an investment for Kharif.

Need plan B to ramp up vax production, says Jagan
Meanwhile, the CM reiterated that the Centre should explore various alternatives to ramp up Covid vaccine production in order to fill the gaps in the vaccination drive and meet the existing demand. “In the fight against the Covid pandemic, vaccination is the only way left for the people. However, in view of the limited production of vaccines, it is imperative for all to learn to co-exist with coronavirus with all precautions for the time being,” the Chief Minister said.

The government has also floated global tenders to procure Covid-19 vaccine. The interested pharmaceutical companies have been asked to respond to the global tenders within three weeks. The bids for supply of vaccine need to be filed by June 3. A pre-bid meeting is likely to be held on May 20 and 22. As AP has come up with the proposal of floating global tenders for Covid vaccine first, the response is expected to be good. The decision to float global tenders was taken by Jagan in the wake of delay in supply of vaccine to the State by the Centre.

‘Pushpa’ is undoubtedly one of the most exciting projects in Tollywood right now. Based on the smuggling of red sanders in the Nallamala forest region, the film is a rustic rural drama where protagonist Allu Arjun will be seen as a lorry driver Pushparaj. Star director Sukumar is making this film on a massive budget and it is going to be released in two parts as per sources. Every small update from this film is going viral which explains its craze.

The shooting has been temporarily kept on hold due to the second wave and insiders claim that around 80% of shooting required for the first part has been wrapped up already. Interestingly, the makers filmed 10% of the second part too. After the second wave comes down, the makers are reportedly planning a 25 days schedule that features the main cast including Allu Arjun, Fahadh Fasil and others. With this schedule, the entire shooting for the first film will be completed as per the reports.

News is that the team planned to release the film in two parts long back as the story cannot be narrated within 150 minutes. Rashmika Mandanna is the leading lady while Sunil, Anasuya, and others play crucial roles in this flick bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. The first part of ‘Pushpa’ is expected to release during the Dusshera season.

Another Covid vaccine scam in the offing: Revanth

KARIMNAGAR: TPCC working president and MP A Revanth Reddy on Thursday alleged that vaccine related contracts through global tenders were being bestowed to companies owned by men who were close to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. He alleged that during the first wave of Covid-19 too, there was misappropriation of crores of funds.

Speaking to mediapersons, he said that in the name of medicines and Covid vaccines, once again a huge scam was in the offing. He questioned the appointment of KT Rama Rao as the chairman of Task Force Committee on Covid, saying no official experienced in handling Covid was a part of it.

Referring to reports of misappropriation of funds in procuring Covid kits and gear, he said those at the helm had pushed the vigilance report which probed the matter under the carpet.
