KARIMNAGAR: A day after Congress leader and Huzurabad constituency in-charge Padi Koushik Reddy demanded the arrest of former minister Eatala Rajender for amassing illegal assets, Karimnagar District Congress Committee (DCC) vice-president Nerella Mahender Goud asked why Koushik Reddy was not calling out other tainted leaders in the pink party. Meanwhile, Mahender Goud alleged that Koushik Reddy was making such statements only to impress the TRS leadership as he has been trying to join the pink fold for quite some time now.
After Rajender’s ouster from the Cabinet, the political climate in Huzurabad Assembly Constituency has been quickly changing, with rumours of Koushik Reddy likely to switch loyalties started doing the rounds. Lambasting Koushik Reddy for ignoring the names of other land-grabbers in the TRS, Mahender Goud said they will soon file a complaint against the former with the party high command.
Though it has been over a week since Rajender left Huzurabad after holding talks with his close associates, he has not yet made an official announcements about his future political plans. Rajender had said that he would soon announce his plan after conferring with his supporters and intellectuals in Hyderabad. However, the former health minister is still mum on his future.
Meanwhile, former Jammikunta Agriculture Market Committee chairman Tummeti Sammi Reddy flayed the Opposition parties for seeking byelection in Huzurabad while the State has been struggling to stand on its feet amid a pandemic crisis.
According to sources, even BJP leaders are currently maintaining a low profile in the constituency. Sources said that former minister E Peddi Reddy, who joined the BJP in 2019, recently met some pink party leaders. Rumours in the political circles reveal that the TRS leadership might induct Peddi Reddy into the party to replace Rajender in the constituency.

Amazon shells out big bucks for Ek Mini Katha?
The makers of Ek Mini Katha, starring Santosh Shobhan Kavya Thapar in the lead roles have been contemplating direct to digital release for the film. They had recently opened talks with leading OTT platforms.
If the latest buzz is to go by, Amazon Prime Video has bagged the digital rights of Ek Mini Katha by shelling out Rs 9 crores.
The comedy caper was made on a tight budget and the makers are said to have minted twice the money they invested on the project by selling the direct to digital rights to Amazon Prime.
Ek Mini Katha is billed to be an adult comedy, a genre that is largely followed and consumed by digital audiences. So, Amazon paid such big bucks for the film.
The film is directed by Karthik Rapolu and produced by UV Concepts and Mango Mass Media.

KCR’s latest headache
KCR has another headache to handle in the coming months. Six of the MLCs in the council are about to complete their term and at least some of the MLCs may not be given an extension this time as KCR has to accommodate other key leaders. This is sure to leave some sitting MLCs and several aspirants unhappy.
The biggest fear for KCR is that those who may be benched might simply go over to Etela Rajendra, who is meeting the disgruntled TRS leaders. If leaders from either Reddy or BC community cross over to Etela, he could paint KCR as anti-Reddy and anti-BC. The term of council’s chairperson Gutta Sukhender Reddy, deputy chairperson Neti Vidyasagar, chief whip Bodakunti Venkateshwarlu, former deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari, former minister Fariduddin and Akula Lalitha is set to expire on June 3. If a notification is issued, then KCR will have to choose his nominees. Who will he choose and who will he drop is the big question. Those kept aside or ignored would become unhappy and might walk into Etela’s camp. If he same team is continued, then other aspirants, who have been entertaining high hopes, would become disgruntled and could be lured by Etela.
Leaders like Sirikonda Madhusudanachary, Tullapalli Ravinder Rao, who had worked very hard for Nagarjunasagar victory, former MP Sitaram Nayak, Kotireddy of Nagarjunasagar who had withdrawn from the race in favour of Nomula Bhaat, former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, former MLA Payam Venkateshwarlu and others are eyeing an MLC post. If denied ticket, these leaders might go over to Etela Rajender.

Two ex-ministers to join hands with Etela?
Are two former ministers from Nizamabad planning join hands with Etela Rajender? Political watchers say that two former ministers were very powerful during their time and still exercise a lot of influence in Nizamabad politis. Both the leaders are currently in the TRS, but are deeply unhappy at the way KCR has ignored them. It is being said that both the leaders might make a common cause with Etela Rajender.
Etela on Wednesday held a series of meetings with leaders from Nizamabad. He had met former PCC chief and TRS Rajya Sabha member D Srinivas. He also met DS’s son and BJP MP Dharmapuri Aravind. Already three-time MLA and currently former MLA Enugula Ravinder Reddy too had met Etela. Sources said that a former minister, who was quite powerful during the TDP regime and had joined the TRS ahead of the 2019 elections, is quite unhappy with KCR. He is said to be already in touch with the BJP and may join hands with Etela. Another former minister has been politically inactive for the last 10 years. He too might chip in and help Etela.
Etela has also met BJP leader Chandrasekhar from the erstwhile Rangareddy district. Political analysts say that Etela will next target the disgruntled leaders in Rangareddy district. They say that Etela’s mission in Rangareddy district is largely successful.
Indian 2: Shankar responds to Lyca’s allegation
It is known that Lyca Productions filed a court case against maverick director Shankar for not completing Indian 2. The production house urged the Madras High Court to ban Shankar from working on other projects for not honouring their agreement.
Incidentally, Shankar responded to Lyca’s allegation and made his his argument.
“At first, Kamal Hassan had some allergy due to the make-up and the shoot was halted. Later, there was this crane accident followed by the Covid outbreak. I cannot be blamed for the delay in shoot,” he responded to Lyca’s allegation.
Kamal Hassan is presently mediating between Lyca Productions and Shankar as he wishes to solve the issue amicably.
Kamal wants to complete Indian 2 shoot at the earliest so that he can move onto his future commence.
