Expedite Sitammasagar project works, CMO Secretary Smita Sabharwal directs officials
KHAMMAM/ MULUGU: CMO Secretary Smita Sabharwal, who reviewed the progress of the Sitammasagar Multi-Purpose Project in Manuguru on Tuesday, directed the officials concerned to continue the project works on war-footing by taking all precautionary measures in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The project is prestigious to the State government and all tanks adjacent to the canal will be filled with the water,” she said.
The project will store water and release it to the Sita Rama Lift Irrigation Project (SRLIP) in the summer. During floods, the water will be sent through the canals of the SRILIP.
Water Resources Department officials, along with L&T representatives, were involved in the meeting with the CMO Secretary. She directed Revenue officials to speed up land acquisition to the canal and the works on bunds to be built on both sides of the project.
Engineers also informed her that bore hole investigation had been completed at 158 of the 269 marked locations. As per the details given by officials, the Director of the Geological Survey of India had visited the site and submitted a report. Unearthing of sand of 15.30 lakh cubic metres had also been sanctioned by the Bhadradri District Collector.
Sabharwal takes stock of Sammakka Barrage progress
The CMO Secretary also visited Mulugu district on Tuesday and took stock of the progress of the Sammakka Barrage (Thupakulagudem Barrage). She directed the official concerned to speed up the construction of the barrage and complete the works by the end of May. Later, she conducted a review meeting with Additional District Collector Adarsh Surabhi and Superintending Engineer (SE) Sudheer.
Amitabh Bachchan considering to stop blogging!?
Since long time super star Amitabh Bachchan has had a keen interest in writing blogs every day. He was well in for his inspiring writings that gave glimpse of his subtle feelings about life, his films emotions, relationships and his gloomy past experiences.
In his latest blog post on Tumblr, the actor figured out that the comments and viewership on his blogs are reducing and shared that a ‘need to stop’ writing the blog has arrived.
“SO .. many observe that the comments when it all started on DAY 1 for several DAYS were in the 500 to over a thousand at times and now rest at the very best to around a meagre 100 .. and the conclusion then that the interest in the Blog has waned away and there is need to stop or disappear .. or search for another,” wrote Big B.
The veteran actor added that the interest in his blog cannot surpass by Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. In the lengthy note, he questioned what is so intriguing about the routine posts that come over and over again from Twitter FB and the instagram.
The blog completed 4424 days I.e 12 years recently in April. But it now appears that Big B is considering to stop blogging!.
Tamil actor Maran succumbed to Coronavirus
The Tamil film industry has lost one more talented actor to COVID-19. Notable supporting actor Maran, who had acted in films like Vijay’s Ghilli and Kuruvi, died of Coronavirus this morning.
Maran was admitted to the Government hospital in Chengalpet after testing positive for the virus a few days back. However, the 48-year-old actor didn’t respond well to the treatment and succumbed to the disease on May 12. Maran’s death comes as an immense shock to everyone in Kollywood.
Maran had also played Adivasi role in Yash-starrer KGF. He has acted in several other popular films in Tamil.
Not only Maran, but the deadly virus has also taken the lives of many actors like Veteran actor Joker Thulasi, comedian Pandu, director KV Anand recently.
Meanwhile, on May 11, Tamil Nadu reported 29,272 new Covid-19 cases out of which 7,466 are from Chennai.

59 ఏళ్ల సేలం ఇటీవల కరోనాతో ఆసుపత్రిలో జాయిన్ అయ్యాడు. ఆయనకు మొదట ఊపిరికి సంబంధించిన సమస్య ఏర్పడింది. ఆ తర్వాత ఆయన ఆరోగ్యం మెల్ల మెల్లగా క్షీణించింది. ఆ తర్వాత ఆయన్ను వెంటిలేటర్ పై ఉంచారు. చివరకు ఆరోగ్యం మరింతగా క్షీణించడంతో మృతి చెందినట్లుగా వైధ్యులు పేర్కొన్నారు. కొంత కాలంగా నిర్మాణంకు దూరంగా ఉన్నా కూడా ఇండస్ట్రీలో ఆయన పరిచయాలు మాత్రం కొనసాగుతూ వచ్చాయి.
Telangana BJP leader Bandi Sanjay slams CM Chandrasekhar Rao over doctors’ job notification
HYDERABAD: BJP State president Bandi Sanjay on Tuesday slammed Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for yet again releasing temporary notification for doctors, and other medical staff without reviewing applications which were received earlier. Sanjay Kumar demanded the State government issues a permanent employment notification for medical staff, and allocate funds to improve medical infrastructure.
Addressing a press conference through Zoom App on Tuesday, the Karimnagar MP questioned how the Centre would give extra ventilators, when the State government was not utilising the existing ventilators.
He said, “Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital’s doctor Shobha Rani died as there was no oxygen bed available for her. Aren’t you (Chief Minister) the reason for her death?” He demanded the State government implement Ayushman Bharat which is implemented under Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana in the State.
Rajnikanth wraps up Annaatthe shoot
Rajnikanth has reportedly wrapped up his portion of Annaatthe following a non-stop 35-day schedule in Hyderabad.
Rajini’s portion was shot on priority basis, given his prevailing medical condition and the current situation pertaining to Covid outbreak.
Rajni left to Chennai soon after wrapping up the shoot and he will be resting for a few days before leaving to USA along with his family, say reports.
Annaatthe is being helmed by Siva and the makers are planning to release the film this Diwali.
The film also stars Keerthy Suresh and Nayanthara in important roles.
Telangana lockdown: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi slams ‘judicial overreach’
HYDERABAD: Like most people, even for MIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, the decision to impose a lockdown came as a surprise and he took to Twitter to express concern over the ‘judicial overreach’ and ‘interference’ in the State’s health policy.
Owaisi expressed apprehensions about the livelihoods of people. “Lockdowns cause severe loss of livelihood & put many at risk. Request @TelanganaCMO @KTRTRS to not forget Telangana’s poor & ensure that they receive maximum support from the govt for being forced to stay at home,” he tweeted. In a series of tweets, he raised the issue of interference by courts. He said, “If need be, govt should seek recourse from the Apex Court. @TelanganaCMO was on record assuring that there will be no lockdown. It’s concerning that, due to judicial overreach, govt had to walk back on this assurance.”

Though we are not in favour of Lockdown, we had to go for it: KCR!
Under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR, the Telangana Cabinet met for a crucial meeting on Tuesday. The outcome of the meeting is that the state will be under strict lockdown from May 12 to May 21.
After the lockdown was announced several questions were raised on how come the Chief Minister who was against the idea of going for lockdown announced a statewide lockdown that too all of a sudden.
Clearing all the air, CM KCR opened up on why the cabinet has decided to go for a lockdown. The Chief Minister said the lockdown was imposed with no option left as the High Court directed them to take a call on lockdown and patients from neighboring states are coming to Hyderabad for treatment.
‘Compared to the other states, the Corona situation is under control in Telangana. We are making sure that there will be no shortage of beds, medicines, and medical oxygen in state-run hospitals. The purchase of grains is going on rapidly. We felt that lockdown leads to a decline in income and causes economic struggles. With other states opting for lockdown, the pressure was building up on Telangana too. Covid-19 patients from AP, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh are coming to Hyderabad for treatment. Some private hospitals are referring patients to state-run hospitals at the neck of the movement. Few sections have batted for lockdown. The High Court advised taking a call on this. With this, a lockdown was imposed barring a few sectors,’ KCR said.
KCR went on to say that all the required measures were taken to see that the farmers in the state will not face any issues pertaining to grain sales and they will be carried out as usual.
The 20-hour-lockdown will come into effect from today. Between 6 AM to 10 AM, all services will be allowed. Except for essential services and sectors that were exempted, other services will be allowed to co-operate.

AP CM YS Jagan targets Ramoji Rao relative on vaccine making..?
AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy penned a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, especially on the issue of oxygen and vaccines. In the letter, he addressed mainly the shortage of oxygen and vaccine in AP. In the letter, he mentioned that the arrival of oxygen tankers from Chennai and Karnataka was delayed on the 10th of this month and as a result, 11 people died in Tirupati.
Along with this, he asked the PM to look into the issue of technology transfer of Bharat Biotech to other companies to increase the Covaxin production capacity. Technology transfer is essential if the vaccine is to be produced in large quantities. He asked Prime Minister Modi to take a decision on transferring Vaccine producing technology to other vaccine manufacturing companies. He suggested that this could lead to more vaccines being produced in less time.

Icon star Allu Arjun has fully recovered from Covid and tested negative for the virus, as confirmed by himself a short while ago.
“Hello everyone! I have tested negative after 15 days of quarantine. I want to thank all well wishers and fans for their wishes and prayers,” he shared on Instagram.
