The Telangana High Court has expressed his anger over the KCR-led state government on the lockdown decision. The Telangana Advocate General has informed the Court about the lockdown that will come into effect from May 12.

The Court slammed the government for taking a sudden decision on lockdown and questioned, how can people belonging to different states living in Telangana return back to their places in such less time.

Till 10 AM of today, the state government has no thought of going for lockdown at least the weekend lockdown. But the lockdown decision was taken all of a sudden. Did the government think of people before taking the decision, the Court questioned.

“The migrant labourers should not get affected by the lockdown, like how they suffered last year. What is the government doing for daily wagers and migrant workers? There is confusion in the public over the second dose of vaccine. How can the ambulances be stopped at the inter-state borders,” the High Court said during the hearing.

Calling the capital city Hyderabad a Medical Hub, the High Court said, a lot of people come here for treatment purposes and questioned, how can people who come for treatment be stopped.

WHO calls India’s triple-mutant variant of Covid, global health risk

Over the past few months, Indian has been seeing new Covid infections and fatalities in big numbers. Several experts are of the opinion that the B.1.617 variant of Covid-19, dubbed as the Indian variant is behind the surge in cases in the country.

Adding strength to the popular belief, the global health agency World Health Organization(WHO) said, the Indian variant, which is also called the triple-mutant Covid variant is a global concern now.

WHO’s technical lead for Covid-19, Maria Van Kerkhove said the preliminary studies have found that compared to the original virus strain, the Indian variant spreads quickly and the strain is somehow capable of beating the protection offered by the vaccine doses. The vaccine doses are still effective, the expert said.

She called the Indian variant a global concern while addressing a press conference. Saying that the variant has more transmissibility than the other variants, the expert said, more information is needed to under the virus lineage. To get more and more information on the lineage, targeted sequencing is required, she opined.

To get a better understanding of the Covid-19 virus and the way it is changing its forms, the global agency has been following not less than 10 variants of the Coronavirus and the Indian variant is one of them.

During the press conference, the expert batted for following the required Covid-19 preventive measures like wearing masks, following distance with others, and maintaining personal hygiene.

So far, the WHO has termed three variants as variants of concerns, the B.1.1.7 variant, which was found in the United Kingdom, the B.1.351 that was detected in South Africa, and the P.1 variant of Brazil.

The WHO even stated that the B.1.617 has as many as three sublineages and more details on the virus strain and its sublineages will be stated in the report which will be out on Tuesday.

Salman Keeps His Eid Promise Despite Tough Times!

Bollywood’s star hero Salman Khan made it a tradition to release his film every Eid but he missed it last year due to complete lockdown. But he made sure that he is coming up with his latest film ‘Radhe-Your Most Wanted Bhai’ this year. Directed by Prabhudeva, this action flick is going to release on 13th May in theatres as well as in Zee Plex on pay-per-view basis.

He recently interacted with the press via Zoom call and talked various issues including his upcoming release. Due to Corona, a lot of filmmakers are pushing back their movie releases but Salman dared to arrive even during such tough times. Along with theatres, he is releasing ‘Radhe’ on Zee Plex as well as on other DTH operators.

Speaking about ‘Radhe’, Salman said, “It was important to release the film at a time like this because people are suffering due to the pandemic. Incomes have reduced for many, so now, instead of spending a lot of money on tickets at the cinemas, people can watch it at a much cheaper rate at home. I want to provide some entertainment to people at a grim time like this. I apologise to cinema owners who were hoping to earn profits with the release of this film. We waited as long as we could, hoping that this pandemic would end and we would be able to release in theatres all over the country. But that did not happen. We don’t know when things will go back to normal.”

He added, “The box office collection of Radhe will be zero, this will be the lowest ever for a Salman Khan film. Let people be happy or sad with that. It is releasing in very few cinemas in India, overseas also the number of theatres are less than usual. So the box office collection will be very poor. I know people are disappointed that they will not be able to watch Radhe on the big screen. Some people have booked auditoriums and are planning to screen my film, which I won’t encourage because I don’t want people to say ‘Salman Khan ki picture dekhne gaye aur corona phail gaya’. Once this pandemic is over and theatres reopen, if people like the film, we will try to release it on the big screen.”

No words can describe the amount of help Sonu Sood has done and being done towards the country during the pandemic times. Given the fact that several hospitals are gasping for oxygen, Sonu Sood is helping the facilities to get oxygen.

Taking forward his help, Sonu Sood is bringing oxygen plants from France to help India beat the virus. Once the plants reach India, the plants will be installed in the states that are severely hit by the Covid-19. Four states will get the oxygen plants.

The real hero said, the orders for the oxygen plants have been placed already and the oxygen plants will reach India in 10-12 days. We are trying out best to see that everything comes in time and no more lives are lost.

“We have seen a lot of people suffering because of the unavailability of oxygen cylinders. We have got it now, and are already giving it to people. However, these oxygen plants will not only supply to entire hospitals but will also get these oxygen cylinders filled up, which will solve a major problem of the people suffering from Covid-19,” Sonu Sood said in a statement.

“Time is the biggest challenge for us at the moment and we are working our best to make sure everything comes in time and we don’t lose more lives,” Sonu Sood added in the statement.

Recently, Sonu Sood has started the Covid-19 relief foundation to lend a helping hand to the country in the testing times. Sonu Sood’s foundation is receiving help from celebrities. Sara Ali Khan has already contributed Rs 2 crore to the foundation.

Breaking: 10-Day Lockdown in Telangana

Amid a surge in Covid-19 cases, the Telangana government has imposed a 10-day lockdown in the state, starting from Wednesday (May 12).

The government has decided this in a Cabinet meeting that held today to take a call whether the state should impose a lockdown to contain the virus spread.

The state is currently observing a night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am until May 15. During the period of implementation of the lockdown, all commercial activities shall close at 10 am and re-open after 6 am except hospitals and those dealing with the supply of specified essential services.

As per reports, the Cabinet decided that all activities would be allowed every day from 6 am to 10 am. It has also been decided to call for global tenders for the purchase of the vaccine. More details regarding the guidelines to be followed are awaited.

Lockdown troubles for Prabhas’ Adipurush!

Due to the spike in Covid-19 cases in India, films across industries have faced shooting delays leading to unwanted production cost. Pan-India star Prabhas‘ Adipurush with director Om Raut has also been facing the same issue.

As Maharashtra is witnessing a surge in cases, the makers of the film shifted the shoot to Hyderabad, where special sets erected for the same. As per reports, Prabhas had asked the team to shift the sets in Hyderabad by dismantling the sets in Mumbai, adding unnecessary expenditure.

But the latest developments in Telangana is worrying the Adipurush team. The Telangana government is thinking about imposing a lockdown in the state as it suffering from Covid greatly. If lockdown is enforced, no shootings would be allowed, and it will lead to a heavy loss to the makers of the mythological drama.

Adipurush stars Prabhas as Lord Rama and Kriti Sanon as Sita. Directed by Om Raut, the film is bankrolled by T Series.
