Nagarjuna Sagar byelection: It’s a fight between past and future, says KTR
HYDERABAD: Nagarjuna Sagar byelection is a contest between a contestant who represents the past — Congress candidate K Jana Reddy — and the one who represents the future — TRS candidate Nomula Bhagat — Minister for IT and Industries, KT Rama Rao said on Sunday. The Minister said this during the #AskKTR session on Twitter, that was peppered with assurances, information on various government projects, criticism of the Central government and the BJP and some banter. The Minister expressed confidence that the TRS will win the byelection.
During the session, a user had pointed out that many roadside public toilets and drinking water-dispensing machines installed in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits are not functioning. To which, the Minister said the GHMC is doing its best to maintain them but the utilities are affected by thefts and vandalism. When a user raised a question on encroachments along the Musi river, he assured that they will be removed.
Rama Rao criticised the Central government for not providing support for Telangana’s projects of Hyderabad Pharma City and Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. He also said that the land acquisition for the pharma city is almost complete and the allotment to investors will start soon.
When someone accused the NITI Aayog for being a toothless tiger, Rao said it is just an advisory body and added that he hopes the States will be supported by the Centre based on merit “and not political considerations”. Responding to a suggestion of a semiconductor fabrication unit, Rao said it is an expensive proposition but the Centre needs to take it up.

Left parties turn opportunistic, support TRS in Nagarjunasagar
The Left parties have once again exposed their opportunistic side in politics. The Left, which has a glorious history of political ethics, has decided to back the ruling TRS in the Nagarjunasagar bypoll. Look at the irony! Barely a month ago, the Left Parties opposed TRS and had put up candidates against the ruling party in the Graduate MLC elections. While known Left intellectual Prof Nageshwar was the Left-backed candidate in Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar constituency, the CPM had its official candidate in Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda seat. Both had opposed the TRS vehemently. But, just a month later, both the CPI and the CPM have decided to support the very same TRS that they had opposed. More interestingly, the CPI had supported the Congress in 2018 elections and backed Jana Reddy in Nagarjunasagar. The CPM had put up a candidate on Bahujan Left Front ticket and had opposed the TRS. Now, they are with the TRS and are opposing the same Jana Reddy they had supported.
The Left parties said that they were supporting the TRS as they have ideological opposition to the BJP. But, the fact is that the BJP is not even in the electoral race in Nagarjunasagar. The party at best is hoping for a respectable vote and at least a decent third position. Yet, the Left has sided with the TRS.
Jahnvi Kapoor cherishes a throwback video while singing from her gym session
Bollywood latest sensation Jahnvi Kapoor was on vacay mode in the Maldives with her close companions. She is currently shooting there for a travel magazine and optimising her workcation time. The actress who is known for her fitness routine and aerobics, cherished a throwback video from her gym session lately on Instagram stories.
In this short clip, we can see the beauty undergoing training underwear gym coach where she was seen doing pilates in all-white gym wear. In the video which was being shot by one of her colleagues, the actress was sliding on the gear to improve core strength while she was seen singing Katrina Kaif’s ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ song from ‘Tees Maar Khan’. It was apparently done to push herself to keep herself active and motivated during her workout session.

KTR’s view on lockdown in Telangana
Telangana minister KTR has conducted a live chat. KTR, who will be active on his social media platforms has posted, “All right guys, I’m here #AskKTR” on his Twitter platform. On this occasion, many questions were answered by KTR. He has received many retweets for his tweet.
During this, when someone asked about the lockdown in Telangana, he said that the lockdown was not good for the state’s economy. “We don’t want a impose a lockdown in 2021,” he said. The minister advised everyone to take precautions as corona cases are rising exponentially in Telangana.
KTR said that the Union government was not giving funds to Telangana. He said it was unfortunate that the Union government did not support Kakatiya Mega Textile Park and Hyderabad Pharma City.

Dil Raju and Sriram Venu working on Icon now
Dil Raju is said to be impressed with the way Sriram Venu handled and executed Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab. He wants to work with the budding director again.
The latest we hear is that Dil Raju and Sriram Venu have started working on their upcoming project, Icon which will have Allu Arjun in the lead role.
Sriram Venu is ready with the final script and Dil Raju is fully satisfied with it. They are now waiting for Allu Arjun‘s nod and the Pushpa actor is expected to revert back very soon.
Now that Koratala Siva is set to direct Jr NTR for his next, Allu Arjun will have to look for other alternatives for AA21. So, he might well green signal Icon as Sriram Venu proved he can handle big projects with his latest outing Vakeel Saab.
The back-end works for the materialisation of Icon are going on at a brisk pace now and an announcement on the project is expected to be made in the next few weeks.

BJP asks Gurumurthy to reveal his religion !1
In the states like Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, and Assam BJP used Hinduism as a weapon during the election campaigns. Now the BJP is also using the same weapon in Tirupati by-polls campaign too. The use of this weapon against YCP candidate Gurumurthy is now causing a stir.
The time for by-elections in Tirupati is approaching. With this, all the political parties are busy with campaigns. At a time like this, BJP leaders raised a new question. The BJP leader Sunil Deodhar demanded CM Jagan to reveal the religion of the YCP candidate. The YCP has been accused of violating constitutional provisions. “The constitution says that only Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists should contest in the constituencies reserved for SCs,” GVL tweeted.
However, the YCP reacted strongly to the issue raised by the BJP. Gurumurthy tried to self-defend and submitted the photographs of him performing pujas for Hindu deities before filing his nomination.

We earlier reported that Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film ‘Acharya‘ is likely to miss May 13 deadline due to various reasons.
Now, the latest buzz is that the makers of Acharya are now planning to release the film on June 18th worldwide. We already reported that there is a delay in Achaya shooting and the film is also facing the heat from the recent Maoist attack.
However, an official announcement is awaited regarding the revised release date. It is worth mentioning that many biggies in the industry are now pushing their release dates as India is witnessing a big surge in Covid-19 infections.
Directed by Koratala Siva, Acharya has Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady. The film features Ram Charan and Pooja Hegde in extended guest roles. It is produced by Matinee Entertainments and it has music by Mani Sharma.
