Balakrishna Faces Backlash Over Assembly Remarks Ahead of Akhanda 2

Share

Balakrishna’s recent remarks in the Assembly have sparked controversy, drawing criticism from both the Mega camp and YCP circles after he made comments perceived as insulting to Chiranjeevi and Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The actor-politician, already no stranger to public scrutiny due to his infamous gunshooting episode and previous efforts to secure ticket price hikes for Akhanda during Jagan Mohan Reddy’s regime, now faces a new wave of backlash.

Meanwhile, Akhanda 2 is slated for release on December 5. While the Andhra Pradesh government is supportive of the film, its reception in Telangana remains uncertain due to potential court directives. However, the greater challenge this time appears to be a negative campaign on social media.

With two major fan groups feeling slighted, coordinated online trolling, memes, and criticism of the film seem inevitable. Many netizens suggest that the only way for Balakrishna to safeguard Akhanda 2 from backlash is by issuing a public apology to both Chiranjeevi and former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Insiders recall that despite his “lion” persona, Balakrishna once humbled himself before then Cinematography Minister Perni Nani and CM Jagan to secure a ticket hike for Akhanda. Observers now speculate whether he will again step forward to apologize to both camps in the interest of his film.

Boney Kapoor Praises PM Modi’s Humility, Shares Dance Therapy Moment

Share

Filmmaker Boney Kapoor recently opened up about how dancing helps him release stress, sharing a monochrome picture of himself in motion on Instagram. “Dance releases your stress — it’s a fact,” he captioned the post.

Earlier this month, Boney also paid tribute to his late wife and Bollywood superstar Sridevi by sharing a photo from her late 20s. On September 3, he posted a picture of the couple during a trip to Tirupati, writing, “From one of our many trips to Tirupati BALAJI.” Sridevi tragically passed away in February 2018 in Dubai, a loss that deeply affected fans across the nation.

In addition to personal reflections, Boney Kapoor recently recounted a cherished memory with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sharing a video on his X handle, he wrote about their first meeting in Lucknow. After addressing a packed summit, the Prime Minister stepped down from the stage, approached Boney, called him by name, and greeted him warmly.

“That simple gesture carried immense meaning,” Boney noted. “Here was the Prime Minister of India, leading a nation of over a billion people, yet he made the effort to recognize me personally. In that instant, I didn’t just feel acknowledged — I felt seen. It is rare for someone in such a position of power to carry such humility, but Modi ji does it so naturally.”

Boney added, “For me, that moment summed up the essence of Narendra Modi — a leader who embodies India’s pride on the world stage, yet always connects with people at a deeply personal level. As Prime Minister Modi ji turns 75, I wish him many more years of leading the nation with the same unwavering determination and personal touch.”

Mohan Babu Stuns as Villain in The Paradise

Share

The Paradise has generated significant buzz with the release of its captivating first-look posters. The initial poster featured Nani, followed closely by a striking reveal of the actor in a fierce, intense avatar.

The filmmakers are adopting a character-centric approach, unveiling each star’s first look to introduce their roles in the period action drama. Directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner, the film continues to build anticipation with every release.

The latest poster introduces legendary actor Mohan Babu as the main antagonist, Shikanja Maalik — a dark, menacing figure symbolizing raw villainy. In the visual, Mohan Babu appears shirtless, sporting a dense salt-and-pepper beard and a heavy mustache, exuding sheer power. His piercing gaze, partially concealed behind green-tinted aviator sunglasses, adds a layer of mystique.

Seated on an ornate, shadowy throne, he commands authority over a blood-soaked dominion. A bloodied sword rests upright across his lap, while his hands and wrists, similarly smeared with blood, underscore the violent and untamed essence of his character.

The film is currently being shot on a grand set in Hyderabad, with Mohan Babu actively participating in the ongoing schedule.

Diya Suriya Debuts with Short Film Leading Light

Share

Diya Suriya, the 17-year-old daughter of actors Suriya and Jyotika, has made her directorial debut with the short film Leading Light, produced under her parents’ banner, 2D Entertainment.

This 13-minute docu-drama shines a spotlight on women gaffers in Bollywood — the technicians responsible for handling lighting on film sets alongside the cinematographer. The film delves into the challenges, determination, and resilience of women who have made their mark in this male-dominated profession.

Leading Light highlights the journeys of three pioneering women — Hetall Deddhia, Priyanka Singh, and Leena Gangurde. Through their stories, the film explores the physical and emotional demands of their work and how they broke barriers to build successful careers in film lighting.

The film is currently being showcased at the Oscar Qualifying Run at Regency Theatre in Los Angeles, screening daily at 12 noon from September 26 to October 2. This makes Leading Light eligible for consideration in the Best Documentary Short category at the 2026 Oscars.

Sharing their pride, Suriya and Jyotika said, “We are thrilled to support Leading Light, directed by our daughter, which illuminates the lives and contributions of women gaffers in Bollywood.”

Balakrishna’s Outburst Puts TDP in a Tight Spot

Share

Senior actor and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna’s fiery outburst in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Thursday has become a hot topic in political circles, continuing to dominate discussions even on Friday.

Observers are questioning why Balakrishna, who seldom attends Assembly sessions, chose this moment for such a scathing attack that ended up embarrassing his own party leadership.

According to insiders, the target of his anger was none other than his brother-in-law and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Balakrishna is reportedly upset over being sidelined within the party and government. Despite being a star campaigner and a three-time MLA, he has only been given a nominal position in the politburo, with no ministerial berth or key organisational role — a long-standing source of resentment.

The TDP leadership was said to be embarrassed by his behaviour in the Assembly, especially when he openly questioned why his name was placed ninth on the schedule to meet the Chief Minister. His comments gave rise to speculation that he was deeply dissatisfied with the way senior leaders were being treated.

What truly grabbed headlines, however, were his scathing remarks against YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, whom he called a “psycho.” While TDP leaders — including Naidu — have used similar language during campaigns, Balakrishna’s choice of words inside the Assembly created bigger ripples.

He also criticised Chiranjeevi for being “submissive” to Jagan during his tenure as Chief Minister — a criticism not new in TDP circles. Even Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi’s brother, had once accused Jagan of arrogance despite Chiranjeevi approaching him respectfully.

But analysts believe Balakrishna’s outburst this time was more damaging because it not only targeted rivals but also laid bare the simmering discontent within TDP itself. His remarks have highlighted growing friction between him and the party leadership, adding yet another headache for Naidu.

Ameesha Patel at 50: Bold, Beautiful, and Unstoppable

Share

Bollywood’s ever-talented Ameesha Patel continues to shine even at 50, proving that charm and energy know no age. With memorable performances in Telugu hits like Narasimhudu with NTR, Badri with Pawan Kalyan, Parama Veera Chakra with Balakrishna, and Naani with Mahesh Babu, Ameesha has made her mark across industries.

Recently, she surprised fans with a candid revelation on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast about her lifelong crush on Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise. “I have loved Tom Cruise since childhood. I had his picture in my pencil box and files, and the only poster in my room was of him. He’s my forever crush. I always joke that he’s the only man I could ever put my principles aside for,” she admitted. Her bold comment about a possible one-night stand instantly went viral, reflecting her fearless and outspoken personality.

Ameesha also opened up about remaining single despite past serious relationships. She explained that many partners wanted her to quit acting after marriage, which didn’t align with her vision. “I wanted to become Ameesha Patel first. I had already spent so much of my life being someone’s daughter, and I didn’t want to spend my adulthood as just someone’s wife,” she shared. Her decision to prioritize her career and independence has inspired many young women.

Still open to love, Ameesha follows a “never say never” philosophy. “I am open to marriage if I find someone worthy. I still get proposals from well-to-do families, and people half my age want to take me out. A man has to be mentally mature—some older people I met had the IQ of a fly,” she joked.

With her glamour, honesty, and courage, Ameesha Patel continues to live life on her own terms, proving that age is no barrier to confidence, self-expression, and unapologetic boldness.
