Telangana Minister Warns Pawan Kalyan Over Controversial Remarks
Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has issued a stern warning to actor and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan over his recent controversial remarks.
Pawan Kalyan had claimed that during the time of united Andhra Pradesh, the people of Telangana had cast a “naradishthi” on the greenery of the Konaseema region, suggesting this contributed to the state’s eventual bifurcation. His comments have sparked widespread outrage, particularly among Telanganites and political leaders.
Responding to these “naradishthi remarks,” Minister Komatireddy stated that Pawan Kalyan had spoken without proper awareness and insulted the people of Telangana. He emphasized that the government would not tolerate attacks on the state’s honour.
Komatireddy made it clear that unless Pawan Kalyan issues an immediate apology, his films will not be allowed to release in Telangana. Even if an apology is made, screenings might be limited to just a day or two.
Several Congress ministers have also criticized Pawan Kalyan, demanding accountability for his statements. When asked about Chiranjeevi, Komatireddy praised the veteran actor, saying, “Chiranjeevi is a superhuman and always stays away from controversies. But Pawan Kalyan, being new to politics, is speaking mindlessly.”
