Ravi Teja’s Kids Carve Their Own Path in Films

Share

These days, star kids aren’t just stepping in front of the camera—they’re also learning the ropes behind the scenes, a smart move in today’s film industry. Many actors’ children are exploring roles as assistant directors, music coordinators, and other technical departments.

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s children are taking noteworthy steps in this direction, but not in the typical “hero or heroine” path. His son, Mahadhan, is working as an assistant director on the pan-India project Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas. By learning under a prominent director, Mahadhan is gaining invaluable filmmaking experience and could eventually carve his own niche as a director—or even an actor.

Ravi Teja’s daughter, Mokshada, is also entering the industry in a significant off-screen role. She will serve as the executive producer for her father’s upcoming film, directed by Shiva Nirvana. In this role, she will oversee production activities and financial management, gaining hands-on knowledge of how a film is run.

Sources say both Mahadhan and Mokshada are serious about mastering the craft and building their own identity in the industry, rather than relying solely on their father’s stardom. Ravi Teja, who has faced a few challenging years with flops, is making a comeback with Bharatha Mahasayulaku Vignayapthi, slated for release during Sankranti.

Vijay Sethupathi Replaces Balakrishna in Jailer 2

Share

Ever since the announcement of Superstar Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated sequel, Jailer 2, rumors have circulated in Kollywood that seasoned Telugu star Nandamuri Balakrishna would appear in an extended cameo as a powerful police officer. Director Nelson Dilip Kumar reportedly crafted a role tailored to Balakrishna’s persona and mannerisms.

Given his long-standing rapport with Rajinikanth, many expected Balakrishna to accept the special appearance. However, recent reports reveal that the role has now gone to Vijay Sethupathi, who has begun shooting for his part in the ongoing Goa schedule. Tamil media suggests that Vijay agreed to the brief yet impactful role after Balakrishna declined due to prior commitments.

Earlier speculation had indicated that Pushpa fame Fahadh Faasil might take on the role, but the makers ultimately finalized Vijay Sethupathi for the cameo originally meant for Balakrishna. This development seems to settle the suspense surrounding Balakrishna’s involvement in the sequel.

Jailer 2 has already assembled a star-studded cast from across India, including Vidya Balan, Shivaraj Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Mohan Lal, and SJ Surya, with Vijay Sethupathi being the latest addition. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film will feature music by Anirudh Ravichander and is slated for release in mid-2026.

Chiranjeevi to Shine in a Bold New Avatar

Share

Megastar Chiranjeevi, known for portraying a wide array of characters over the decades—from lover boy and mass action hero to cop, naxal, and politician—will now be seen in a completely new avatar in his upcoming untitled film with director Bobby Kolli. “Chiranjeevi’s role will be entirely fresh, something he has never done before. The film promises to be a magnum opus,” reveals a source, adding that shooting is set to begin in January. “It will be a path-breaking commercial entertainer in Tollywood.”

Chiranjeevi and Bobby previously delivered the blockbuster Waltair Veerayya, which grossed over ₹140 crore in the Telugu states and remains one of the megastar’s biggest hits. “Both Chiranjeevi and Bobby wanted to recreate that box-office magic. The director has crafted a role filled with substance—presenting Chiranjeevi in a fiery, never-seen-before avatar,” the source added.

The film is said to be packed with entertainment elements, including songs, comedy, and high-octane mass moments, designed to thrill the megastar’s massive fan base.

Noted writer Kona Venkat, who is penning the script and also worked on Waltair Veerayya, confirmed the news: “Chiranjeevi garu’s multifaceted talent will be fully showcased. His role in this film will stand out even among his 150-plus films. He will be seen in a refreshing, new shade,” he said, keeping further details under wraps.

Schengen Visa 2024: Countries With the Highest Approval Rates

Share

If you’re planning a Europe trip before the year ends, one of the first questions that naturally comes to mind is: Which Schengen country is most likely to approve my visa? While 2025 data is still awaited, the 2024 approval rates offer the clearest insight into where applicants stood the best chance of success.

Top Countries With the Highest Schengen Visa Approval Rates (2024)

Based on official data compiled by SchengenVisaInfo, the following nations recorded the strongest approval percentages last year:

Iceland – 91.25%

Slovakia – 89.25%

Italy – 88.72%

Romania – 88.36%

Switzerland – 88.12%

Hungary – 87.23%

Norway – 87.20%

Greece – 85.86%

Austria – 85.78%

Luxembourg – 85.65%

This lineup differs noticeably from 2023, where Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany featured more prominently—underscoring how visa trends shift year to year.

High Approval Rates Don’t Mean You Can Apply Anywhere

Even if a country has a high approval rate, you must apply to the correct consulate based on your actual travel plan. Applying to a country you’re not visiting—commonly called visa shopping—violates Schengen rules and can lead to delays or outright rejection.

The submission rules are simple:

Single-country trip: Apply to that country.

Multi-country itinerary: Apply to the country where you will stay the longest.

Equal stay duration: Apply to the country you will enter first.

Applications must be filed only through embassies, consulates or authorised visa centres.

Countries That Dropped in 2024

Germany, Latvia, Poland and Lithuania—previously strong performers—did not make the top tier in 2024. While consulates haven’t provided reasons, increased demand and evolving staffing patterns may have been contributing factors.

High Approval Rate ≠ Guaranteed Visa

Even countries with approval rates above 90% routinely reject applications due to:

Incomplete documentation

Unclear itineraries

Insufficient financial proof

Inconsistencies in paperwork

Your personal documentation remains the key determinant.

Tips for Applicants Rushing to Apply Before Year-End

If you’re trying to secure a visa before December closes, follow these best practices:

Book appointments early—holiday season slots fill up fast.

Apply to the correct consulate—don’t choose based on approval rates alone.

Ensure all documents are accurate, complete and consistent.

Avoid peak filing weeks in late November–December.

Include a concise cover letter outlining your travel plan and ties to your home country.

Ram & Upendra Celebrate Andhra King Success

Share

Ram Pothineni, who was busy with promotions across the Telugu states, is currently in the USA along with actress Bhagyashri Borse for theatre visits. Meanwhile, the team conducted a success meet in Hyderabad, attended by Upendra and other key members.

Producer Ravi shared that he has been receiving countless appreciation calls since the film’s release. “We decided to release the movie on Thursday to capitalize on the Thanksgiving weekend in the USA. The strategy worked—Thursday numbers were strong, and with positive word-of-mouth, collections are only growing. The film is set for a long run. Ram will return on Sunday and resume post-release promotions,” he said.

Ravi also made an interesting revelation about remunerations, expressing gratitude towards the stars who supported Mythri Movie Makers during tough market conditions. “Ram didn’t charge any remuneration. Instead, he took the Nizam and Guntur rights. Upendra too accepted a reduced payment.”

Director Mahesh Babu P stated that Ram and Upendra created magic on screen. “When you travel with the right team, magic happens. Andhra King is one such miracle. I’ve been receiving appreciation from fan associations of various stars. This film is basically a love letter to cinema.”

Upendra shared that he was emotional when he first heard the script. “I felt pressure when I was told to play the Andhra King. But since the role felt like home, I embraced it. Director Mahesh Babu is the real star of this film,” he said.

Indian Embassy in Kuwait Warns Against Fake e-Visa Websites

Share

The Indian Embassy in Kuwait has issued a public advisory following a sharp rise in fraudulent websites impersonating the official Indian e-visa portal. The warning comes after multiple applicants reported being deceived into sharing payments and sensitive personal information through fake platforms, according to Kuwait’s Al Qabas Arabic daily.

Embassy officials revealed that several unauthorised third-party operators are creating look-alike websites to mislead travellers. Some of the fraudulent sites identified include indianimmigration.org, idiasevisa.org, evisaentry.com, india-immi.org, ivisa.com, and india-evisa.it.com.

The Embassy reiterated that there is only one authorised website for Indian e-visa applications:
www.indianvisaonline.gov.in

Travellers have been strongly advised to avoid all other portals. The mission cautioned that using unverified websites may result in financial fraud, data theft, or other security risks.

In its advisory, the Embassy urged all applicants to verify the authenticity of any visa-related website or service before submitting documents or making payments. Officials emphasised that “vigilance is essential,” and encouraged applicants to rely exclusively on the government website for all e-visa processes.

Intense Love Story with Heavy Emotions

Share

Dhanush and Kriti Sanon team up to present a fresh serving of emotional intensity. From the trailer, songs, and promotional content, it was clear that this film would be an emotionally heavy love story. Now, let’s look at what the movie actually delivers.

Story

Shankar (Dhanush), the son of a small-time notary lawyer (Prakash Raj), is a lower-middle-class youth known for his violent streak and involvement in college politics.
Mukti (Kriti Sanon), a PhD scholar, is researching whether an inherently violent person can be reformed. To get her thesis approved, she promises to transform Shankar and present him as her case study.

Initially, Shankar brushes her off, but as Mukti intensifies her attempts, he gradually falls for her. Mukti, however, only pretends to love him to complete her thesis. Shankar takes the relationship seriously, and life soon separates them for three years. In this time, Mukti gets engaged to another man.

When Shankar returns and learns the truth, his suppressed aggression resurfaces. How he deals with heartbreak, becomes an Air Force pilot, and navigates the emotional chaos forms the crux of the story.

Performances

  • Dhanush is excellent as the aggressive rebel, the vulnerable lover, and the disciplined pilot. His simmering anger remains visible throughout.
  • Kriti Sanon is brilliant and, in many scenes, even overshadows Dhanush. However, her frequent smoking scenes feel unnecessary.
  • Prakash Raj delivers a heartfelt performance as a helpless middle-class father.
  • The supporting cast is efficient, and the actor playing the motivational pundit in Kashi leaves a strong impression.

Technical Aspects

  • A.R. Rahman’s music enhances the emotional weight, though some parts feel familiar. The pre-interval segment is a standout with gripping BGM.
  • Cinematography and production design are visually strong.
  • Editing could have been tighter to match the film’s intense tone.

Highlights

  • Dhanush & Kriti’s performances
  • Music
  • Strong emotional moments

Drawbacks

  • Overlong runtime
  • A few unconvincing scenes
  • Repetitive smoking imagery

Analysis

The storyline is simple, but the execution leans heavily toward intense emotional drama. Shankar’s characterization slightly reminds one of the hero from Animal—violent, unpredictable, and emotionally volatile.

The film takes time to settle. The early hero-centric sequences and formulaic introductions give it a routine commercial vibe. But nearly 20 minutes before the interval, the narrative gains momentum, and the emotional depth kicks in.

Some visual choices, especially the constant smoking, appear repetitive. A few scenes—like Shankar threatening Mukti’s fiancé in a resto-bar, the bus incident, and the over-the-top terrace confrontation—feel cinematic rather than convincing.

On the brighter side, the emotional confrontation between Shankar and Mukti’s father is exceptionally well done. The Kashi episode, where the pundit advises, “Don’t chase Mukti, which also means salvation—stay rooted in love, and Mukti will come to you,” is a philosophical highlight.

Interestingly, the film has no physical villain; the flaws of each character collectively become the antagonist. This film works best for viewers who enjoy intense emotional dramas and are ready to experience nearly three hours of psychological depth. Those expecting a soft, feel-good love story may be disappointed.

Bottom Line:

Emotional and engaging in parts, but stretched and exhausting overall.
