Yoon Suk Yeol and Kim Keon Hee to Appear in Separate Court Trials on Same Day
Former South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife, Kim Keon Hee, are set to appear in court on Friday in separate trials, marking the first time both are scheduled to appear on the same day since their arrests.
Yoon will attend one of his trials related to his failed attempt to impose martial law in December, as well as allegations of obstructing investigators in January and deleting secure phone records from government servers. He had skipped his two martial law trials since being arrested for the second time in July but recently resumed court appearances as key witnesses began testifying.
Kim, the former first lady, faces corruption charges, including alleged involvement in a stock manipulation scheme and interfering in candidate nominations for elections. She has been present at every trial session since proceedings began in September and has been in custody since August 12.
Both trials are scheduled to start around 10:15 a.m., but authorities have arranged for the couple not to cross paths, as they are being held at separate detention centres, Yonhap news agency reported.
Earlier on November 4, a special counsel team summoned Yoon to appear for questioning over his alleged interference in a military probe into the 2023 death of a young Marine. Investigators suspect Yoon instructed the presidential office and the defence ministry to reverse initial findings in order to shield a Marine commander from responsibility.
The former president is also suspected of helping former Defence Minister Lee Jong-sup avoid accountability by appointing him as ambassador to Australia in March 2024. The special counsel had previously requested Yoon’s appearance on October 23, but he did not comply, citing trial schedules for his lawyers.
The late Marine, Cpl. Chae Su-geun, died in July 2023 after being swept away during a search mission for victims of heavy rains, reportedly without proper safety equipment, including a life vest.

Ramaphosa emphasized the need to address debt vulnerabilities in low- and middle-income countries, which he said limit fiscal space, hinder efforts to reduce poverty and inequality, and constrain investment in growth and development. “We expect the summit to make a political commitment to address these debt vulnerabilities,” he said. He added that the Johannesburg Leaders’ Declaration is expected to include “a commitment to further strengthen the implementation of the G20 Common Framework for Debt Treatment in a predictable, timely, and coordinated manner.”
The summit will also urge the international community to support countries facing liquidity challenges despite having sustainable debt, under a strong reform agenda.
On the issue of inequality, Ramaphosa noted that the G20 Extraordinary Committee of Independent Experts on Global Wealth Inequality, chaired by Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz, submitted a landmark report this week. “The committee provided a comprehensive analysis of global inequality and recommended specific actions that leaders need to take,” he said. These include reforming international economic rules, ensuring fair taxation of multinationals and the ultra-wealthy, and establishing “a new international and independent panel to monitor inequality trends and ensure effective policies are implemented.”

Jatadhara Review: Sudheer Babu’s Supernatural Thriller Fails to Engage
There hasn’t been much buzz around Jatadhara, but Sudheer Babu made a last-minute effort to draw attention to the film through promotions. Let’s see how it fares.
Story:
Shiva (Sudheer Babu) explores various haunted places, hoping to capture paranormal activity on camera, but always fails. One day, a shocking incident at home changes his life when he discovers that his parents (Rajeev Kanakala and Jhansi) are actually his foster parents.
Performances:
Sudheer Babu doesn’t have much to do in the first half except wander around looking for ghosts. His character gains some importance only in the final act, where he performs a spiritual ritual. The Shiva Tandavam sequence is decently choreographed, but the overall role lacks heroism or emotional depth.
Sonakshi Sinha, making her Telugu debut as Dhana Pisasachi, appears mainly in the climax. She impresses with her screen presence, but the role doesn’t allow her to do much.
Divya Khosla, playing Sudheer Babu’s archaeologist girlfriend, seems miscast and doesn’t fit well beside him. Naveen Neni’s role as the friend is negligible, while Srinivasa Avasarala delivers a routine performance. Shilpa Shirodkar and Ravi Prakash get slightly better roles, but Rajeev Kanakala and Jhansi are limited to formulaic parts.
Technical Aspects:
On the technical front, there’s little to appreciate apart from the production design. The cinematography, background score, and visual effects are below par, and the editing is even weaker. The writing lacks creativity and fails to engage. The film features two songs, neither of which adds value or impact.

Analysis:
Jatadhara is directed by two filmmakers, yet surprisingly, both seem to lack a basic sense of storytelling. The direction feels raw and unpolished — often worse than a low-budget short film.
For instance, in one unintentionally funny scene, Sudheer Babu watches breaking news on his phone, turns the phone toward someone beside him — but when the shot ends, he’s alone. It perfectly sums up the film’s clumsy execution.
The romantic subplot is another example of poor writing. Sudheer Babu meets an archaeologist in one scene, and by the next, she’s already his girlfriend talking about losing him — without any emotional buildup or logic.
After a series of such random and illogical moments, the film finally reveals its central idea — the concept of Dhana Pisachi and Nagabandhanam, an ancient ritual tied to hidden underground treasure. While this could have been intriguing, the screenplay fails to explore it effectively.
Sudheer Babu’s character remains shallow, repeating the same ghost-hunting routine in the first half. The second half tries to add depth with a flashback and Sonakshi Sinha’s character, but by then, the audience is already drained by the dull, disjointed narration.
It’s difficult to understand what made Sudheer Babu choose a script that offers so little scope for performance or heroism.
Bottom Line:
Jatadhara is a tedious, poorly executed supernatural drama that tries to hide weak storytelling behind forced spiritual and mystical elements — but ends up collapsing under its own confusion.
Japan to Link Visa Renewals with Insurance and Pension Payments
Japan is set to introduce stricter regulations for foreign residents who fail to pay their public health insurance or pension contributions. According to reports by NHK, beginning June 2027, the Immigration Services Agency and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare will link payment records to residency application screenings.
Under this new system, foreign residents who fall behind on payments will not be able to renew or change their residency status. The move comes as part of the government’s efforts to address growing concerns about unpaid contributions to the national welfare system.
Currently, foreign nationals living in Japan for three months or longer are required to enroll in the country’s health insurance and pension programs. However, recent data shows significant gaps in compliance — as of March 2025, foreign residents paid only 49.7% of the total pension contributions owed. Likewise, a survey across 150 local governments revealed that foreign residents paid just 63% of their health insurance premiums by the end of last year.
Authorities also highlighted cases where individuals left Japan without settling outstanding health insurance bills, even after utilizing medical services during their stay.
To prevent such situations, the Japanese government is considering an additional policy that would allow newcomers to pay health insurance premiums upfront in a lump sum upon arrival. This system is expected to take effect from April 2026, enabling smoother compliance from the outset.

Jr NTR–Prashanth Neel’s Dragon to Be Made in Two Parts
Jr NTR and director Prashanth Neel’s much-awaited pan-India action drama Dragon (working title) is gearing up to resume shooting soon. Recently, rumors surfaced on social media suggesting creative differences between the actor and the director. However, those speculations were quickly dismissed after the facts came to light.
According to the latest reports, Prashanth Neel has opted to make Dragon in two parts. A portion of the footage already filmed will reportedly be used in the second installment, while the first part will go on floors with fresh schedules and an all-new look for Jr NTR. This decision is said to be part of Neel’s vision to expand the story into a larger cinematic universe.
Meanwhile, director Koratala Siva is eagerly waiting to begin work on Devara 2. The team has already completed pre-production, and filming is expected to start as soon as NTR becomes available. With a massive ensemble cast featuring Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, and Srikanth, scheduling dates for all actors is proving to be a significant challenge.
Fans, however, need not worry about the sequel’s fate. Devara 2 was officially confirmed with a special poster on Jr NTR’s birthday earlier this year. If production faces further delays, Koratala Siva is expected to turn his focus toward his upcoming projects as a producer — one of which reportedly stars Naga Chaitanya, though it hasn’t been officially finalized yet.
Given how blockbuster franchises like Baahubali, KGF, and Pushpa maintained audience anticipation through quick sequel rollouts, fans are eager to see when Devara 2 will begin filming and continue NTR’s powerful saga.
Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Fierce First Look as Kumbha in Rajamouli’s Globetrotter
In the striking poster, Prithviraj is seen seated in a futuristic wheelchair-like setup equipped with robotic arms extending from behind, giving him a menacing and authoritative aura. His upright posture, squared shoulders, and firm grip on the armrests exude control and power. With an intense, calculating expression, Kumbha looks every bit the cold, formidable antagonist audiences have been waiting for.
Set against a backdrop of dust and chaos, with soldiers running in the distance, Kumbha’s stillness becomes his greatest weapon — a man who doesn’t need to move to command dominance. The robotic arms feel like extensions of his will, amplifying his precision and authority.
Director S.S. Rajamouli praised the actor, saying, “After canning the first shot with Prithvi, I told him he’s one of the finest actors I’ve ever known. Bringing life to this ruthless and powerful antagonist Kumbha was creatively very satisfying. Thank you, Prithvi, for slipping into his chair… literally.”
Mahesh Babu, who plays the lead, added, “Stood on the other side… time to meet you head-on, Kumbha.”

The grand reveal event of Globetrotter is scheduled for November 15 at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, and is expected to be India’s biggest film event ever, featuring the official title announcement and first visual glimpse of the movie.
With Rajamouli at the helm, Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra leading the cast, and Prithviraj Sukumaran as the commanding antagonist Kumbha, Globetrotter is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the decade.
