Shraddha Kapoor Fractures Toe During ‘Eetha’ Shoot, Takes Two-Week Break

Shraddha Kapoor has been navigating a whirlwind of controversies lately—from the Dawood-linked drug syndicate rumors to allegations about her jewellery brand copying designs, along with old debates over film credits. Amid all this, she tried to focus on her work, but fate had other plans.
While shooting for Eetha, a film based on the legendary Tamasha performer Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, Shraddha was intensively training for the Lavani dance sequences. During one shoot, dancing to an Ajay–Atul track, she shifted her weight incorrectly, resulting in a sharp slip and a fractured toe on her left foot.
The director immediately called for a break, but Shraddha, known for her determination, continued shooting for a couple of days, limiting herself to close-up emotional scenes due to the pain. Eventually, the team decided to pause the shoot for two weeks to allow her to recover fully, especially since most of the remaining sequences require her full movement and energy.
Centre Sanctions ₹39.84 Crore for Red Sandalwood Conservation in AP

The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), has released ₹39.84 crore to support the protection and conservation of Red Sandalwood in Andhra Pradesh. Of this, ₹38.36 crore has been allocated to the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department, while ₹1.48 crore will go to the Andhra Pradesh State Biodiversity Board.
Deputy Chief Minister and Forest Minister Pawan Kalyan has taken a personal interest in strengthening Red Sandalwood protection efforts. During a recent inspection at the Tirupati Forest Department, he reviewed the seized Red Sandalwood stock, assessed security arrangements, and evaluated ongoing anti-smuggling operations. Expressing concern over continuing smuggling attempts, he assured that a special crackdown operation targeting smugglers would be launched soon.
In a parallel initiative, the NBA has approved the raising of one lakh Red Sandalwood saplings by the Andhra Pradesh Biodiversity Board at a cost of ₹2 crore, enhancing conservation efforts outside natural forests.
Red Sandalwood, prized worldwide for its deep red timber, grows naturally in select districts of the Eastern Ghats, including Chittoor, Kadapa, Anantapur, Prakasam, and Kurnool, particularly in the Seshachalam and Nallamala forests. Its high demand, especially in Japan and China, has made it highly vulnerable to illegal trade. Recently, the state government generated ₹87.68 crore through regulated auctions of seized Red Sandalwood.
With DCM Pawan Kalyan’s active involvement and support from the ruling coalition, the Centre has quickly sanctioned this significant biodiversity-linked funding. The move paves the way for the upcoming Red Sandalwood protection operation, which is expected to strengthen forest conservation, empower local Biodiversity Management Committees, support frontline staff, and boost the state’s fight against smuggling networks.

Boyapati Srinivas Becomes Third Highest-Paid Telugu Director

The trailer for Akhanda 2: Thandavam has sparked discussions not just about the film, but also about its director, Boyapati Srinivas. Reliable sources reveal that Boyapati has been paid Rs 35 crore for this project, making him the third highest-paid director in the Telugu film industry, behind only Rajamouli and Sukumar.
While Rajamouli and Sukumar operate on a different level entirely, Boyapati has firmly established himself as one of the top directors in the industry. Even Trivikram Srinivas is reported to have earned a maximum of around Rs 30 crore, making Boyapati’s current remuneration notably higher.
This impressive pay reflects not just Boyapati’s individual talent, but also the power of the Boyapati-Balayya combination and the Akhanda franchise. It highlights how successful directors can command huge earnings by creating blockbuster films and building strong, franchise-driven collaborations.
YS Jagan Plans Direct Phone Connect with Public in 2029

After his historic victory in the 2019 Andhra Pradesh elections, YS Jagan Reddy took a markedly different approach to public interactions. Critics noted that he moved from being highly accessible—often stepping out to meet and embrace people—to a distant Chief Minister, separated from the public by lavish paradhas. This shift earned him the nickname “Paradha CM,” as his limited engagement with citizens was seen as a key reason for losing voter connect, which ultimately proved costly in elections.
However, the YSR Congress has recently signaled a new approach for the future. According to Peddireddy Ramchandra Reddy, a close aide of Jagan, the Chief Minister plans to return in 2029 and engage directly with party cadres and the general public via phone. Ramchandra Reddy stated, “Jagan will become CM again, and he will care for cadres this time. He will even speak with ordinary citizens on the phone to understand their problems.”
While former CM Chandrababu Naidu pioneered the IVRS system, using recorded messages to collect public feedback, this new initiative by Jagan to personally speak with people over the phone appears ambitious and somewhat impractical, observers have noted. Nonetheless, the announcement underscores Jagan’s intent to strengthen his connection with voters ahead of the next election.
Eko Outshines Prithviraj’s Vilayath Buddha at Box Office

Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is playing the antagonist in SS Rajamouli and Superstar Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film Vaaranasi, recently released his new Malayalam film Vilayath Buddha. Despite his massive stardom in Kerala, the film has been overshadowed at the box office by a smaller-budget movie, Eko.
Although Vilayath Buddha opened to decent numbers, its typical commercial formula and lack of engaging elements led audiences to reject it. Additionally, many viewers felt that the trailer reminded them of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, which created high expectations that the film ultimately failed to meet.
Prithviraj had previously delivered hits like Ayyappanum Koshiyum and Driving License, both centered around ego clashes. Fans expected Vilayath Buddha to follow suit with strong content, but it fell short of those expectations.
On the other hand, Eko, a mystery-thriller starring a relatively new actor, gained traction at the box office thanks to positive word of mouth. Although morning collections were modest, the film picked up momentum during evening and night shows. It is now poised to dominate the box office this weekend, as Vilayath Buddha continues to underperform.
This episode reinforces the trend that today’s audiences prioritize strong content over star power. Even a small-budget film can triumph over a star-driven commercial release if it offers an engaging and well-made experience.
