Keerthy Suresh’s recent film Penguin, which released on Amazon Prime Video in three languages opened to mixed reviews but audiences were all praises for the actress’s performance.
The actress’s name has made headlines once again on Tuesday after her name made rounds on social media as reports claim the actress is going to team up with Kamal Haasan.
Well, Kamal Haasan and Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Vettaiyadu Vilayadu, which released as Raghavan in Telugu is said to be having a sequel now. Corona crisis: KCR upset with HC comments
TRS president and CM K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday expressed anguish over the adverse comments made by the state high court despite his government’s all out efforts to contain the Covid-19 pandemic in the state.
Several who took part in the review meeting conducted by KCR said they felt bad over the comments made by the high court despite the fact that the government and medical staff are working with commitment with regard to taking measures to contain the virus, conducting the tests and the treatment.
“On the Corona issue, every other person is going to the High Court. So far, the high court has admitted 87 Public Interest Litigations. Due to the daily hearings, the officials are facing problems and hardship. Senior doctors and other officials, who are working day and night giving treatment to the needy, are forced to spend more amount of their time to run to the court,” the officials told the chief minister.
“In this hour of crisis, these senior officials had to leave their primary duty and are spending time to prepare for the court hearing and to attend the hearings. With this, they are not been able to render cent percent justice to their duties,” they regretted.
KCR said when compared to other States in the country, the situation in Telangana state is better. There is less percentage of deaths. But yet, the state government and the medical officers are working to the best of their abilities. The government is ready to provide medical treatment to any number of patients whatever may be their number, he said.
“It is painful that though so much had been done, but yet the High Court made some comments. In the past too, someone filed a petition asking that tests should be conducted on the dead. The High Court gave orders in their favour,” he pointed out.
The chief minister said based on the comments made by the high court, some media organisations were also reporting in such way to convey that the state government was not doing anything on the matter.
“This is shattering the morale of the medical staff who are rendering the services putting their own lives at stake,” he said.
Pawan Kalyan Wakes Up On Amaravati Again!
After keeping silent for several months, Jana Sena Party leader and actor Pawan Kalyan has woken up again on the issue of shifting of administrative capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.
As the issue has reached its climax with the YSR Congress party government sending the two crucial bills pertaining to the three capitals to Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan, the Jana Sena chief said the Governor should look into all angles before taking any decision on the bills.
He pointed out that the farmers of Amaravati had sacrificed their 34,000 acres of lands under land pooling scheme only because the government had proposed to construct a big capital city.
“Their sacrifices should not go waste and the government cannot ignore the farmers, but respect their sentiments,” Pawan said.
He said everybody would welcome the decentralisation of development, but the Jagan government was firm on decentralisation of administration by creating three capital cities.
“We shall stand by the farmers till justice is done to them,” the Jana Sena chief said.
Pawan also found fault with the YSRC government for large scale weeding out of ration cards in the state.
“Only those in favour of the ruling party are being given ration cards and those supporting the opposition are being deleted from the beneficiaries’ list,” he alleged.
Rishi Sunak hands UK key workers a COVID-19 crisis pay rise
LONDON: UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak on Tuesday handed an above-inflation pay rise to key workers such as doctors, teachers and police officers in recognition of their hard work during the coronavirus pandemic crisis.
The UK’s Treasury Department, which the Indian-origin minister heads, said that nearly 900,000 workers will benefit across the country, with teachers and doctors seeing the largest rise at 3.1 per cent and 2.8 per cent respectively recognising their efforts on the frontline during the battle against COVID-19.
Police and prison officers will both have a 2.5 per cent rise in pay, scheduled for the 2020-21 financial year.
“These past months have underlined what we always knew that our public sector workers make a vital contribution to our country and that we can rely on them when we need them,” said Sunak.
“It’s right therefore that we follow the recommendations of the independent pay bodies with this set of real-terms pay rises,” he said.
The UK’s Armed Forces will receive a 2 per cent uplift as 16,340 new recruits join the UK Regular Armed Forces from April 2019 to March 2020, an increase of 30.
9 per cent compared with the previous 12 month period.
This pay rise follows the settlement for more than one million National Health Service (NHS) workers who continue to benefit from the three-year Agenda for Change pay deal, under which the starting pay for a newly qualified nurse has increased by over 12 per cent since 2017/18.
This means nurses who are still moving up their pay structures will receive an average 4.4 per cent rise this year.
There are 12,220 more nurses and health visitors working for the NHS compared to last year, the government said.
“These past few months have been an incredibly challenging time for our NHS, and the resolve, professionalism and dedication of staff has been on show throughout.
We are able to accept the recommendations of the independent pay review body for dentists and doctors,” said UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
“I am committed to supporting the entire NHS and social care workforce through improved recruitment and retention and delivering 50,000 more nurses and 6,000 more doctors in general practice,” he said.
The UK Treasury said that each pay hike is recommended by independent pay review bodies and that this year government accepted the headline recommended rise for each workforce.
“This year’s pay awards reflect the enormous effort made by those in the public sector in responding to the unprecedented challenges for the country during the Covid-19 outbreak,” it said.
The pay awards for the armed forces, prison officers, senior civil servants and the NHS staff work will be backdated to April this year, whereas the pay rise for police and teachers starts in September which run on a different pay year (September-August).
14 months and 400 deaths – Where is your Disha act? CBN fires on Jagan
The intensity of the atrocities in Andhra Pradesh has been increased in the past few months. This is not about the alleged atrocities of the Ruling party but the non-social and inhumane acts committed by some individuals in our society who behave no less than animals in the jungle.
Recently, a minor girl was abducted, gang-raped for 4 days, and was left in front of the police state in Rajahmundry. There is nothing gross than this act in a state which has introduced the ‘Disha Act’ and fast track courts to curb these kinds of issues.
Now, the leader of the opposition, former AP CM, Chandrababu alleged that more rapes had increased in the state after the haste of the Disha Act. Chandrababu was incensed at the Jagan’s government for not realizing that there was no freedom for girls in the AP as 400 rapes had taken place in 14 months.
The TDP chief said that the government has no intention to pass the ’Disha law’ effectively and it was just neglected after using this act for campaigning purposes. Naidu further Demanded that at least the Nirbhaya Act be strictly enforced.
If we look at the happenings in the past few months – Rape of a Dalit girl rape in Yerpedu zone of Chittoor district, another girl in Venkatravupalle, Nellore district. The same kind of incident happened in Tadipatri, Anantapur district, and to a Muslim girl in Guntur. Now another Dalit minor girl in Rajahmundry. Most recently a women MPDVO in Nellore was molested, Dalit woman doctor molested in Chittoor, a masked woman was employee physically assaulted in the government office
In addition to these, 14 gang rapes in 14 months. Now, after looking at these reports every one started to question if there are any laws and government in the state to watch and prevent all these atrocities by taking strict action and implementing some fearsome laws effectively?
