What a political game.. Jagan couldn’t know who’s supporting and who’s against him

Share

Well, the AP political game based on the three capital issue is evenly poised at the moment. Jagan played the waiting game all these days and has shown his brutal power when the actual moment arrived. While the bill was sent to Governor’s approval, everyone thought that the Game is about to over and Jagan will be the ‘man of the moment’ for his handy presence of mind but here comes the twist.

The Governor who has been a favourable character to Jagan in this game is ready to hear the voice of the other sides too. Already Vishwa Bhushan Harichandan is facing severe criticism from the people for his stand on Nimmagadda’s issue and the way he supported the AP government by signing on every file which received Nimmagadda from his duties in the past in a controversial way.

Hence, he is under serious pressure as the three capital bill and CRDA abolition bill are in his office for approval. Now, the AP BJP started to influence the governor by challenging his stand on these two bills. Kanna said that the two bills have been under question before the judicial system and approving these two bills will come under the ‘contempt of court orders’ as the YSRCP has already agreed in court that these two bills are about to send to a select committee to avoid a specific inquiry in the High court earlier.

In the meanwhile, the BJP’s higher command is not at all pleased with Kanna’s words. They wanted to wage a silent war against Jagan but never tried or intended to condemn his decision and act against him in public. So, reportedly, Kanna has faced a fine beating from the centre. Now, Jagan is clueless about the stand of the the centre in this issue. While AP BJP is severely criticising him, their high command is not offering them any support.

On the other side, they didn’t even consider the council abolition bill forwarded by the AP government to the parliament. They didn’t even care to jibe into the issue. On the other side the President need to approve these two bills after the governor and BJP will play a major role at that point and Jagan is in immense fear with this strange behaviour of the BJP that is leaving him no clues about the proceedings.

In addition, former AP CM Chandra Babu also wrote a letter to the Governor explains him the series of events that happened regarding these two bills and termed them as strictly ‘debatable’ and are not eligible for unanimous approval. It seems we are up to the last over and whose game is it gonna be in the end?

Syrians vote for new parliament amid measures against coronavirus

Share

DAMASCUS: Syrians headed to polling stations in government-held parts of the war-torn country on Sunday to elect a new parliament amid strict health measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The vote is the third to take place in Syria since the conflict began in March 2011.

It has killed more than 400,000, displaced half the country’s population and sent more than five million as refugees mostly into neighbouring countries.

The vote this year follows a new wave of US sanctions that came into effect last month and a campaign to fight corruption that saw a wealthy cousin of President Bashar Assad come under pressure to pay back tens of millions of dollars to the state.

Some 1,656 government-approved candidates are running this year for the 250-seat People’s Assembly. The total number of eligible voters hasn’t been announced. As in previous votes in Syria, the vote will produce a rubber-stamp body loyal to the president.

Inside polling stations, all workers were wearing masks and gloves and voters had to use their own pens in the sanitized booths. Once they cast the ballots they had to leave immediately as no gatherings were allowed inside.

People also had to keep a safe distance while waiting for their turn. In the morning, Assad and his wife, Asma, both wearing masks, voted in Damascus at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs. The vote is a message to “emphasizes the cohesion of the Syrian homeland, that after nine years of war, Syria will not kneel,” Information Minister Imad Sarah told reporters after casting his ballot.

Assad has twice postponed the country’s parliamentary elections this year in light of restrictions in place to combat the spread of the coronavirus. Assad himself is not standing for election. Syria, that had a pre-war population of 22 million, has reported 496 cases of infections and 25 deaths because of COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus.

However, the actual numbers are likely far higher and increases have been reported in recent days.

The head of the Higher Judicial Committee for the Elections, Judge Samer Zumriq, confirmed on Saturday in a statement to state news agency SANA that more than 7,400 polling stations have been set up in 15 voting districts.

They include 1,400 stations where troops and members of the country’s security services will vote. No vote was being held in the northwestern province of Idlib, the last rebel stronghold in Syria or in the country’s northeast, which is controlled by US-backed Kurdish-led fighters.

Polling centres opened at 7 am (0400 GMT) and are scheduled to close 12 hours later. Results are expected to be announced the following day.

Some 167 seats are allocated for Assad’s ruling Arab Socialist Baath Party – guaranteeing it a solid majority – while the rest are allocated for independents, including merchants, businessmen and industrialists. “We hope that the members of the new council would work to improve the living conditions of citizens by enacting new legislation,” said Samir Sulaiman, a 50-year-old employee.

This year’s vote comes as the country is also witnessing harsh economic conditions including a crash in the local currency worsened by US sanctions and an economic crisis in neighbouring Lebanon.

The so-called Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act, envisages sanctions on Syrian troops and others responsible for atrocities committed during Syria’s civil war and also provides funding for war crimes investigations and prosecutions.

Syria calls the sanctions acts of “economic terrorism”. Outgoing legislator Mohannad Haj Ali, who is under US and European sanctions, said the country is experiencing a “suffocating economic and political siege”.

He also said Syrian citizens are aware of corruption within state institutions adding that Assad has started “dealing with corruption by tracking down on the corrupt”.

Haj Ali did not give any names but his comments came after Assad’s maternal cousin Rami Makhlouf, who was once described as central to Syria’s economy, has been pleading for Assad to help prevent the collapse of his business.

The last parliament was elected in April 2016, when large parts of Syria were outside of government control and people there did not take part in the polling. Since then Assad’s forces have captured much of Syria with the help of his allies Russia and Iran.

Taapsee’s Crazy Reply To Kagana’s Grading

Share

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut is known for her carefree talk. She never minces her words while speaking on something.

She has recently made harsh comments on Taapsee Pannu and Swara Bhaskar during the Republic TV interview that they are ‘B-grade actresses’.

She said these actresses couldn’t raise above despite getting support from Karan Johar.

Needless to say, ‘B-grade actresses’ remark did not go well with Taapsee. She is known for her quick and witty responses replied to the comment without mentioning Kangana’s name.

She tweeted, “Maine suna class 12th n 10th ke result ke baad humaara result bhi aa gaya hai! Humaara grade system ab official hai? Abhi tak toh number system pe value decide hoti thi na #MaLifeMaRulesMaSh*tMaPot”(I heard that after classes 12 and 10, our results are also out! Are we officially following the grade system too? We were given grading in numbers right?).

The fight between Kangana and Taapsee is not new. Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel had commented earlier that Taapsee is a ‘sasti copy'(cheap copy) of Kangana.

At that time, Taaspee gave a retort, “I did not know that she has a patent on curly hair because I was born with curly hair, and my parents are responsible for that.”

YSRCP issues now take a new turn on Twitter

Share

All’s not been well in YSRCP ever since Narasapuram MP and YSRCP member Raghu Ramakrishna Raju started to rebel against his own party. The Narasapuram MP has openly objected many of the decisions that the government has taken for the state. He even received a show-cause letter from YSRCP leader Vijaya Sai Reddy.

However, Raghu Ramakrishna Raju managed to reject that letter, stating that it lacked legal sanctity. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju also went to Delhi to meet with the Lok Sabha Speaker and Union Home Minister to make sure that he is not disqualified from his post.

Now, Raghu Ramakrishna Raju has tweeted about the welfare scheme of Cowsheds, and wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy to make sure that the cowsheds are well looked after, and that the cows are well looked after as well.

Replying to his tweet, Rajiv Krishna, the Secretary and Spokesperson of YSRCP has asked Raghu Ramakrishna Raju if he made this tweet genuinely out of the love he has for cows, or if it is to impress those who love cows, indirectly meaning the BJP. Rajiv Krishna also wrote that while Raghu Ramakrishna Raju may love the BJP, there are chances that the BJP may not love him.

This tweet once again clarifies that Raghu Ramakrishna Raju is ready to deal with any kind of obstacles and criticism from his own party, and will not step back to defend himself during any situation.

Prof Nageshwar Analysis On Three Capitals Bill To Governor

Share

The three capitals bill now reaches the Andhra Pradesh Governor, Biswabhusan Harichandan. The opposition TDP and the BJP raised serious constitutional and technical questions over the state government’s move. The opposition wants the Governor to take the advice of legal experts before wetting the bill. The opposition makes three specific questions to buttress their claims.

Firstly, the bill does not have the consent of the legislative Council as the upper house has sent the bill to the select committee. Secondly, petitions on the three capitals and the controversy over the select committee are before the High Court. Thirdly, the capital figures in the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganization Act passed by the Parliament .

There is still confusion over whether or not the three capitals bill is referred to the select committee. While the Chairman and the TDP that has a majority in the upper house claims that it was referred to the select committee, therefore, the Assembly cannot pass it again and send it to the Council second time.

But, the ruling YSR Congress, the government and the Legislature Secretary argue that the manner in which the entire episode of referring it to select committee has been made makes it legally untenable. Notwithstanding this row over whether or not the bill was referred to the select committee or not, the fact remains is that the Council should have communicated its opinion in three months as per the article 197 of the Constitution of India. The council has to act on the bill within a month if it is sent second time by the lower house. The council cannot inordinately block a bill passed by the Assembly in the name of referring it to select committee.

In a bicameral legislature, the Upper House exists to enrich the functioning of legislature but not put spokes in the functioning of House of the People, the Assembly. In the Constitutional scheme of things, the Assembly has a mandate than the Council.

In regard to the second objections, the legislative functioning cannot be hindered by the proceedings in any court of law. In fact, the legislature has the Constitutional immunity . The courts can intervene only when there is a substantial case of illegality that too after the legislative process is over.

Finally, the state Reorganization Act does not speak about the place of capital. The parliament or the central government have no role to play in deciding the place or places of capital. The union government has already made this clear in the Parliament itself.

Thus, not withstanding ones opinion on the advisability or otherwise of moving the capital from Amaravati, the constitutionality of state government sending the bills to Governor seems to be not out of law at least technically if not politically.

AP Borrowing At Alarming Level: Report

Share

AP finance minister Buggana Rajendranath confirmed that they were planning to borrow from a foreign trust and even approached Union finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman urging the central government to be the guarantor for the deal.

At such a time, the report published by the Credit Ratings organisation warned that Andhra Pradesh was borrowing very heavily, at an alarming-level.

It estimated that in this fiscal, the AP debt-to-GDP ratio would reach 34.6%, which is beyond the 25% limit set by the 14th Finance Commission. Though the neighbouring states of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Gujarat also borrowed heavily, they had ensured that they did not cross the 25 ratio limit set by the Finance Commission.

According to the report, Telangana debt-to-GDP ratio is at 21.4% while that of AP is 13.2% more than that. The Credit Ratings organisation mentioned that even the bigger states like Uttar Pradesh had managed to keep the ratio at 28.8%, West Bengal at 33.3%, Rajasthan at 33.1% and Kerala at 30.1%.

Meanwhile, the organisation also found that even the interest being paid by the AP government on the loans taken was also heavy. In 2021 financial year, AP paid 12.6% as interest and 22.5% towards payment of loans.

The total amount for which the state government has stood as guarantor till this financial year is Rs 49,442 crore.

According to the latest reports, the AP government stands at the 6th position in the list of states which borrowed heavily. It also stated that by this financial year, the state has a loan burden of Rs 3,41,270 crore while neighbouring Telangana has a loan of Rs 1,68,725 crore.

Power Star’s Gaddi Tintava Song : Pure Satire On Pawan

Share

Ram Gopal Varma, who has been teasing Pawan’s fans from longtime and keeps throwing satires on Power Star, has announced a film on Pawan Kalyan. Many had thought this would be one of the many announcements of RGV which won’t materialize. But much to everyone’s shock RGV has penned the script and shot the film. The first song from the film – Gaddi Tintava – has been released. This is a pure satirical song on Pawan. The song overplays Pawan’s relation with domestic animals – cows, buffaloes – and plants in his farm house.

Whereas, RGV has portrayed the whole song of Gaddi Tintava linking it to Pawan and his party’s poll drubbing. The lyrics are evoking laughs and RGV knows his best to use pun-intended words in the song. However, this song may hurt Pawan’s die-hard fans. The song also featured Power Star and his Russian wife. It also featured roles similar to real-life persons such as Bandla Ganesh, Trivikram Srinivas, Chandrababu Naidu. These may evoke several reactions from industry folks as well. RGV has taken parody and spoof to a new low with Power Star.

The film is said to be set in the time after Pawan lost in 2019 elections. While Pawan had lost in both the seats he had contested, Janasena party had won just 1 seat. The whole song just revolves around Pawan and his mannerisms. Even the song was sung with Pawan’s modulation to bring the originality.

Earlier, RGV wrote about Gaddi Tintava song, “The song sung by the hero to his buffaloes and his trees in his farm house..Trailer releasing on July 22nd 11 Am and Film releasing 25th 11 AM only in rgvworldtheatre.com”

Interestingly, the film’s trailer is charged. It is based on pay-per-view. To watch the trailer, one has to pay Rs 25/- . The film will also be based on pay-per-view and it will be available on RGV World Theatre from July 25th.

Jagan is Better Than Chandrababu and KCR: Radha Krishna

Share

One has to agree to the fact that Radha Krishna’s ‘Kothapaluku’ is one of the widely read political comment in Andhrajyothi.

His detractors say that it is ‘Chetta Paluku’ and RK became infamous because of the same weekly comment.

As usual, RK came up with his mark political masala this week.

He started off his comment on the behavior of two CMs of Telugu states and their response towards the Corona crisis.

He said that the opposition parties became weaker in the states. He has drawn a comparison between the CMs of Telugu states.

He said that When KCR and Chandrababu were CMs of their respective states in the previous regime, people used to think that KCR’s workstyle is better than Chandrababu’s workstyle.

He went on to say that the scene got reversed now and the people are thinking that Jagan’s workstyle is better than his Telangana counterpart KCR. He clarified that it is just limited to the handling of corona crisis but in other aspects as well.

Though RK went on to criticize Jagan in his Kothapaluku as usual in other paragraphs, this comparison has grabbed the attention of the netizens.

A netizen commented that the Kothapaluku comparison reminded him of logical reasoning in Mathematics that he studied for competitive examinations during his youth.

He said “If a is equal to b and b is equal to c, then a is equal to c. If we apply similar analogy, A is better than B and B is better than C then A will automatically becomes better than C. KCR is better than AP M Chandrababu in the previous term According to Radha Krishna. Now, Jagan is better than KCR. With the basic logical reasoning, Jagan is better than Chandrababu”.

By comparing as per his whims and fancies, he forgot that he is actually degrading Chandrababu Naidu and appreciating Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Reddy Tells Lokesh : First Know What’s Suitcase Company

Share

Rajya Sabha MP and YSRCP’s national general secretary Vijay Sai Reddy is quite active on Twitter and social platforms. He has been a harsh critic of TDP leaders Chandrababu and Nara Lokesh like no one else. Along with a serious and befitting counter, Reddy makes sure he throws funny satire at his diatribes. The latest punch from Vijay Sai Reddy to Nara Lokesh has come as a shot in the arm for Lokesh’s trollers.

Responding to Nara Lokesh’s lengthy post and allegation,Vijay Sai Reddy gave a fitting counter. He asked Lokesh to first know what is a suitcase company and what is an actual company. Vijay Sai Reddy said Easy Space Solutions is his company and it has his name registered. So, he declared that what is the issue and why is it called a suitcase company. He ridiculed Nara Lokesh for not knowing any difference. And once again, Lokesh became fodder to online trolls.

Lokesh earlier accused Easy Space Solutions Ltd as a “suitcase company” of Vijay Sai Reddy. He alleged that the firm is the center of the hawala network. Lokesh alleged that YSRCP leaders are possessing black money and they’re laundering the money from Chennai to Mauritius. He cited the recent incident of an Ongole leader whose car was caught in Chennai with Rs 5.2 crore cash. Lokesh further said that YS Bharathi Reddy, YS Sunil Reddy and YS Anil Reddy are acting as directors for the Easy Space Solutions and both A1 and A2 indicating “YS Jagan and Vijay Sai Reddy” are behind the hawala transactions.

With Vijay Sai Reddy’s satire, Lokesh is now caught off guard. Now that Reddy himself admitted that the company belongs to him, Lokesh needs to prove the fraudulent doings of the firm if it is doing so.
